      Thus is by far the best and most accurate saw I have used, I feel the dewalt ones would be top range but they are also top price, would buy this again when mine eventually packs in rather then upgrading to a dewalt as there simply isn’t anything that needs upgrading about this

      Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNo one’s paying me to write this. It’s a brilliant saw. love it. I’m not a DIY or even a carpenter. I’m an older woman, and I like to do a bit of chopping up of bits of wood here and there, and this is a brilliant saw. Recently installed a solid oak floor and used this to cut all the bits, and it went through 3/4″ solid oak like butter. Don’t waste money buying a cheaper saw. The pull back action means you can cut a really wide piece of wood. It’s very powerful.

      Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFew reasons: It comes with a better blade, you can do nice cuts straight out of box (48 vs 30 teeth), capability to do trench cuts, larger cut capacity, also Bosch is more suitable for lefties and it looks like it has way more efficient dust extraction. My impression from a couple of YT videos that Bosch extracts dust better without a vacuum than a Dewalt with…Also Bosch has a soft start, Dewalt doesn’t. The only downside of Bosch is a much bigger footprint in comparison with a Dewalt. So far I can’t find any other flaws on the Bosch.

      Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis Bosch mitre saw represents excellent value and with a little setting up can produce some very accurate cuts.

      When the saw cam from the factory the bevel and mitre angles were slightly off true. With a little bit of research it wasn’t too difficult to work out how to calibrate this saw. The angle of the bevel can be adjusted so that the mark for 0 degrees is correct by adjusting a nut at the back. The mitre angle is adjusted by loosening the screws on the front gauge, lining the blade up to the fence using a roofing square or other decent sized 90 angle, then tightening the gauge back up again. Once this is complete all the angle are true.

      The saw is defiantly a work horse and has a decent cutting depth. With any mitre saw the dust collection is never going to be perfect, but at about 1/3 the price of a Festool Kapex it defiantly represents good value.

      The laser line works nicely, it doesn’t have the laser on both sider of the kerf like some of the more high end saws do. The handle is comfortable to use and adjusting the rear fence is pretty easy. The adjustable supports that extent to the left and right of the saw to support the work piece work well. It does make a lot of noise so hearing protection is defiantly a requirement.

      Overall very happy with this product. There is nothin else in this price range that have the quality of this saw.

      Great mitre saw that takes a little setting up

      This is a serious bit of kit! I wanted a mid range saw that was not too expensive but that would last the distance. Well this is above and beyond what I expected. I’ve just laid a load of laminate flooring and this saw made the job effortless. It is really well made and easy to work with. You can set angles and depth in seconds so perfect for any job. The one thing I would say is this is quite big and heavy so I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who wants to move it around a lot. Other than that it ticks all the boxes for me and I would highly recommend it.

      I bought this for some outdoor house repairs like decking and cladding repairs. I am very pleased with the quality and accuracy straight out of the box.

      The dust extraction does need some attention. I am looking to see if I need a better extraction unit/ hoover or if something is not set up correctly.

      I’ve only used this for a few jobs so far, but it’s an absolute pleasure to work with. Well worth watching the online video to see the features demonstrated. I’ve never yet been disappointed by a Bosch power too (or domestic appliance for that matter) and this saw is no exception. It’s outstanding and I’d highly recommend it !

      Works perfectly. Does everything I want it to. However, if you want the laser line to work longer than 3.5 seconds maybe this isn’t the saw for you.
      Otherwise great value for money.

      This is a great machine, easy to set up, accurate in cut. But it’s heavy and sawdust clogs the laser guide. I’ve also bought the dedicated wheeled stand which has made this into one of the most versatile machines I’ve got.

      This is part of the professional range and is very capable saw. The 30cm width of cut allows for some flexibility in the use and can handle reasonably think wood as well.

      This is rather big and heavy but very well designed and made and an absolute pleasure to use. Really accurate cuts are made with ease. I first bought another top make that I had to return for having an unremovable blade. I instead bought this for not too much more money. It turned out to be a great deal better in every way. I particularly like the effective dust extraction when attached to a Hoover, the slide-out side supports, the positive and accurate angle setting, the laser guide and it’s long slide action.

      Great saw and vastly exceeds previous Evolution saw. Accurate cutting once you are set up. Fantastic dust extraction, but be warned, this machine picks up your sawdust and literally shoots it out of the back of the machine. A dust bag or dust extractor is essential.
      I have mine connected to a karcher WD3P with power tool pass through. While it isn’t certified for dust collection it does the job with this machine for occasional use.

      It’s Bosch Pro, so it works straight out the box and is set up and completely accurate to boot.

      What more could you ask for?

      Only download to this saw is it’s nearly a meter back to front which could be a issue in a small workshop.

      Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI read a lot of reviews but don’t normally write them so something has to be good for me to do so. I have had numerous mitre saws including Einhell and Evolution but this one is in a different league. It is very easy to set up to get accurate cuts and ensure the laser is aligned perfectly. The motor is strong and the blade very good producing very clean cuts. The reach and dust extraction are where it comes into it’s own. The reach is over 30 cm allowing you to cut a wide range of timbers without the need to turn it round and suffer alignment problems. The dust extraction is fantastic. Despite me using a cyclone dust extraction system on my previous saws, I still had to clean up a fair amount of sawdust whenever I used them. This leaves very little sawdust and you can see the sawdust being extracted as you cut, the best I have seen by far and saves so much time after use. I spend a long time reading everything before I buy a new saw to ensure it serves my needs as a keen woodworker hobbyist. To save you that time and effort, if you want a great accurate saw with a fantastic extraction system then buy this, you’ll be more than please with your purchase.

      This machine is such great value for money. The quality is unrivaled, lots of metal parts in places it’s competitors would have used plastic parts. This machine can do wider cuts than any of its rivals, which you just don’t usually get with a blade this small.

      I bought this to use while building a shed.

      It’s made massively light work of jobs that would otherwise be really hard or just plain impossible to manage accurately without.

      I worried that it was a really dangerous piece of kit, but the way it’s designed means it’s far safer than something like a simple circular saw. As long as you’re sensible about it, you’d have to work quite hard to hurt yourself with this (other than pulling your back trying to lift it).

      The laser gets covered in dust quite quickly, which might make you think that it’s broken, but it’s trivial to clear that (pop a thing out, blow, pop it back in).

      Very pleased with it. Be aware. It’s quite heavy. I’ve got it mounted on a mitre saw stand with wheels (which is itself a solid beast). Lifting it into/out of the van for storage is not for the faint-hearted.

      All in all though, a really excellent buy. Very pleased I didn’t just buy the cheapest one.

      I bought this after my previous cheaper Mire saw gave up up after quite a few years of work, so far I am not disappointed. As you would expect from Bosh products it is well made and the markers seem reasonably accurate even out of the box but its worth checking. Folds up nice and compact for transport and the carry handle is an added bonus

      Great tool .happy purchase..I don’t like the fact that out of the box it needs everything checked and adjusted..laser line..disc..angles..nothing comes properly set up..their all a mess..not a good feeling..
      The grip on the handle is not that great especially reaching the trigger safety unlock button..feels a bit like u need to look at your hand while starting the tool..
      Altogether is a great professional tool great looks and quality. A happy purchase!

      Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBought this to replace a previous professional sliding mitre saw I got 2nd hand a few years ago at the end of its professional working life. Although a DIYer I wanted a professional quality tool for the greater accuracy of cut – and it was a birthday indulgence!
      Things I particularly like:
      * ability to easily adjust all cut settings for accuracy;
      * laser guide (though it gets blocked with sawdust and has to be cleaned out quite regularly),
      * good cutting performance;
      * easy depth cut adjustment;
      * ability to reconfigure the cut quickly using preset positions for horizontal and vertical bevels;
      * vacuum hose in fixed position at end of rails – acts to return cutting head to home position and makes it easier to keep hose attachment in place.
      Minor niggles:
      * Hose attachment is designed for a Bosch connector — an expensive accessory. Fortunately I had an adaptor nozzle for my vacuum cleaner which is a reasonable push fit (helped by my last point above).
      * Can’t get the full range of horizontal bevel cut as bolts from fixings to the Bosch saw stand (GTA2600 Pro) get in the way – a problem with the stand fixings not the saw itself, hopefully readily addressable.
      Overall I’m very happy with it and think it’s excellent value as a pro tool for top end DIY use.

      Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFantastic mitre saw. Light enough to move with one hand unlike it’s bigger Bosch brothers with the well placed grab handle. Accurate straight out the box but did tweak the laser with a simple screw twist on the side. Very stable to use on the floor or mounted, extension tables are smooth to adjust and lock with a single hand adjustment. The trenching tool works well as does the single bevel and mitre cut.
      The extract connector has changed from older models and now has a new nozzle for connecting the Bosch extractor. That said, I was able to slide a Dyson vac tube into it even with its press button for attachments. I added a bit of duct tape around it to to make sure it sealed fully, but worked well enough for indoor use.
      Great mitre saw for the price with as many features you will need for most projects.

      Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGreat mitre saw…. but. The 90 degree cut is spot on, but move it to cut across the plain at 45 degrees, instead of straight down, and it was about 3 degrees out. The laser was out, but simple to move, unfortunately it stopped working after a few afternoons of work (switched off and on, not left on). The extraction is really good, but not so good if you’ve changed the horizontal angle, to 45 degrees. I think there is a 110 V alternative which is useful. But could do with an inverter (??) to get a speed control in, as i would like to use the accuracy of the saw for cutting metal, and metal blades suggest max speeds of at least half of the mitre saw’s rpm.
      The plus side, is this is so easy to use and adjust, i absolutely love it.

      Great mitre saw

      Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy wife bought this for My birthday as I do a bit of diy. It is a heavy saw and would not like to be carring it around from site to site but it is fixed to a bench in my work shop so no problem for myself. I have had afew other mitre saws but this is byfar the best one I have ever worked with. Iyt is strong and sturdy and I had straight cuts out of the box. Had to line up the lazer but it only takes a minute to do that. Love this machine and highly recommend this mitre saw.

      So far very good. I use this saw in my work shop, I’m not sure how it would work on a site. It is a light compact saw easy to set up and very accurate. i would be happy to recommend it for workshop use but not for site use.

      Golden Review Award: 176 From Our UsersFirstly let me say I’ve been a carpenter for over 30 years, so I have some experience with mitre saws.

      Ok I had three mitre saws that were all Dewalt. 1) a 305mm blade which tilts both ways which I use for larger roof framing projects etc. 2) The new cordless Dewalt which I use for smaller projects or if no plug in power is available. 3) A 216mm blade Dewalt which will handle most projects that I used daily, this saw eventually died after years of use so I needed a replacement.

      I don’t like the design of the new 216mm mitre saws from Dewalt, they remind me of an Elu I had many years ago. So I did some research and opted for the Bosch GCM 8 SJL on Amazon at the very reasonable price of 259. I almost went for the Makita equivalent which also looks a good machine, I have other Makita tools which are first class.

      Out of the box I checked the saws cutting accuracy, the saw cut absolutely spot on square so no adjustment required. The only thing I had to adjust was the laser. I always download the Pdf manual of all my new power tools from their makers websites, but this saw also comes with a paper manual which explained how to adjust the laser.

      The sliding action is very smooth and the saw has an adjustable depth stop for doing trench cuts etc, a very useful addition which I’ve used for lap joints. The saw has table extensions both left and right which I really like for extending the support of material. This saw only tilts one way, but that’s not an issue you just need to reverse your cuts. The mitre adjustment setup is different to what I’m used to on the Dewalt saws, but it works perfectly fine. The saw has plenty of power and comes with a very good quality blade, I’ve cut through 8″ x 2″ timber like a hot knife through butter.

      Another reviewer complained about the dust extraction? If you connect an dust extractor to the machine it works really well, if you don’t you will get a buildup of sawdust but that happens with all machines. I’d always recommend connecting an extractor if you’re working inside for health reasons, if you’re working outside it’s not an issue.

      Now this machine is a Bosch and it’s a mitre saw, so I certainly expected to pay much more for it. The fist thing I did notice when I unboxed it was it’s made in China, something a work colleague didn’t like. However I’ve had it about a month now and I must say I’m impressed with it, this saw certainly has German engineering.

      So I’d say it’s not the best mitre saw I’ve ever had, but for the money it’s defenatly the best value and will do just about any carpentry project thrown at it. So far I’ve cut a small hipped roof on an extension with it, it’s cut skirting, architraves, studwork, handrails, base rails and spindles etc all very accurately.

      If you’re looking to buy a mitre saw think about what sort of work you’re going to do with it and what size timbers you’ll be cutting, then buy accordingly. I use this saw for every day general carpentry and so far I’m pleased with it. So for that reason and especially for the price I’d recommend it and I’ve given it five stars!

      Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersThis is a superb product for either the enthusiast or professional user. If I was being really picky I’d say that some of the plastics could do with an upgrade as they feel a little on the light side for continuous use, but that aside, the saw is capable, when setup correctly, of performing extremely accurately. Dust extraction, when coupled to a Festool CT26, is very good.

      The attached picture is of a 1mm thickness shaving taken from a 10cm square length of pine stock as a calibration test. 10cm exceeds depth of cut so this was actually taken in two passes, reversing the stock between passes. As you can see the cut is entirely uniform so amazing accuracy really. The resulting sliver was so delicate that just holding for the photo broke it. Standard blade was used.

      Overall, this is well worth the investment and Bosch got this very right indeed. If I ever upgrade it will be to the 12″ glide version for increased capacity and to save some bench space.

      5.0 out of 5 stars Capable of a very high degree of accuracy.
