Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy Carhartt overalls have been a fantastic addition to my motorcycle riding gear, even though they occasionally get me some awkward stares from construction workers who seem to be gatekeeping the brand. These overalls have proven their worth in many ways.

Firstly, they are incredibly durable. Whether I’m on a long road trip or a quick commute, they provide excellent protection against wind and road debris. The heavy-duty fabric and reinforced stitching have held up remarkably well, even in harsh weather conditions and on extended rides.

The functionality and design are spot-on. The ample pockets and overall style offer convenience and ample storage space for my essentials. Plus, the classic Carhartt look is a bonus that I find stylish and iconic.

Now, about those stares from construction workers — it’s amusing, to say the least. While Carhartt has deep roots in the construction industry, it’s versatile enough to be a great choice for motorcycle riders like me. I’ve been met with a mix of curiosity and bemusement from construction workers, and their questioning glances have provided some humorous encounters.

In summary, these Carhartt overalls have been a reliable and comfortable choice for my motorcycle riding adventures. They’ve proven their worth time and time again, and the occasional quizzical looks from the construction crowd only add a touch of uniqueness to my riding experience. I highly recommend them for anyone who values both style and function in their gear.

My husband really likes these bibs! He especially likes the color! Thick and sturdy! Especially around the knees.

Bought these for my husband working in the shop and he loves them. They are durable but he can bend and move in them freely. Has tons of pockets so he doesn’t have to wear a tool belt doing smaller projects too. I did read to size up one or two sizes and definitely agree with this! My husband sized up one size and it fits perfect.

Before buying I was kind of skeptical of quality because of some of the negative reviews I’ve read. I gave it a shot and if for some reason I didn’t like it; I would just return it.

Thats not the case though. Mine came in perfect condition. No flaws at all in stitching or fit. I’m 5’11 and I ordered 34×32 Gravel. The quality is very good and its really comfortable. No restrictions in movement. I ordered a size up like suggested and it fits great! I’m very satisfied

I have worn carhartt for years, very durable and even the straps and hardware holds up great.

First off I love Carhartt, great durable clothing. The reason I’m knocking the overall rating down is because of a quality control issue. The right hand pocket was riveted to the inside of the cover all. Which made it impossible to put your hand inside. I had to cut the pocket around the rivet and sew up the holes.

The clasps are odd, but manageable. I see them breaking in the future.

I love the comfort and durability of these for their value, they are also cooler than wearing just plain pants on the job.

The only issue I have found is that there’s inconsistency in leg length. The 34 length is more like a 32, this was easily altered with a seam ripper, needle and thread.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far so good…..
No zips at the bottom of the legs for boots. Not mandatory but sure is a convenient feature.
Material is lighter weight and soft.
Will see if it can withstand the mans punishment.
They don’t get 5 stars because the stitching at the sides are already coming un-done!!!!! We went to the store to find some and couldn’t find the size we needed. But saw the same stitching failure in multiple pairs!!!!! Where has the quality gone guys???? For the price Carhartt charges you should at least get some use out of them before they start falling apart.
Would recommend getting the next size up IF wearing over pants. If not get your regular size.

I was skeptical at first I loved the rain defenders but they no longer make them. I really don’t care for the regular relaxed fit they do t last long and you don’t have freedom of movement. With these I have all the movement I could ask for they are light weight and comfortable. Can’t tell about durability yet I’ve only used them a month five days a wee. Holding up perfect so fa

I liked these overalls so much that I bought a second pair. The material is very comfortable and I like the gray color. I do wish that they offered other colors. I also have a pair of Duck Bib overalls but I have not worn them much because they’re very stiff. I suspect that I need to wash them a few times to break them in. This is in contrast with these overalls which are comfortable from day 1.

I’ve purchased several of these and it seems that the hooks and elastic always give out before the pant material. It is frustrating to have a perfect pair of coveralls that can not be worn due to a broken loop. That material where the strap attaches cuts or wears through. That needs to be reinforced somehow and I’d give these a full Five star review. Don’t get me wrong. They are great and feel comfortable but that hook looped material needs to be tougher.

Love it love it love it. I got 3 different versions of the carhartt overalls and these have by far have become my favorite. They are light weight and flexible yet very durable. At first they will feel a little flimsy compared to more traditional carhartt material but I have put these through hell and they are holding up incredibly well. I can go on and on but long story short don’t think about it just get yourself a two pairs of these because you will fall in love with them!

Okay okay. Let me preface this by sayingh husband does work a rugged job. He’s a railroader. Carhartt very hardly ever fail him. He normally wears it out before any of the hardware or zippers mess up.

So que *huge* disappointment when on the second wear, one pair had a strap connector snap off the rivet.
.I’m used to having to replace suspender hardware on lesser quality bibs, but I’ve never had to do that with Carhartt.

Thankfully, the situation was remedied. A refund was issued. Then hubby requested a brown pair the next go round

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter quite a bit of research on Amazon, reading reviews, looking at online comparison videos, etc., I bought these Carhartt bib overalls, in grey, 36 waist, 32 length. I’m 5′ 10″ and about 180 lbs, average build, not muscular but not really flabby. Right out of the package, I love them more than I thought I would. The fabric is soft with a little stretch, but still feels substantial and it will probably wear quite well. It’s not soft like a cotton t-shirt, but soft like well worn denim with nice feel not like hard canvas. The build quality is excellent, no obvious flaws or issues. I don’t love the metal connectors on the straps as they “clank” a bit when I move, but they’re fine, not horrible; I may swap out for buttons at some point. The overall fit is right on the mark, if a wee bit long, but that’s without being washed so I think the length will shorten a bit. The legs are probably about right in terms of width/bagginess. They are definitely not “skinny jeans” tight, but they do have a kind of fitted look rather than straight boot-cut. I thought about having them tapered in a bit, but now I probably won’t. “Technical” factors about number of pockets, etc., are all discussed in other reviews, videos, etc. My main here is the fit and feel are excellent. I rated this product at five stars, but obviously that doesn’t include durability as I just got them, but I think that will be fine, Carhartt is a trusted brand and they don’t sell garbage. Pretty easy to give these five stars, and the price isn’t horrible either–quality and good design isn’t free.

Pretty sure Carhartt stopped making the ripstop bibs with the cargo pockets, so I grabbed a set of these. They do have a good set of extra pockets on the side of the legs that will fit a wallet, a glasses case, a cell phone, etc, so they maintain a good chunk of the functionality of the cargo pockets. Light weight, which I like. Good front pockets. The only thing I am not a fan of is the metal buckles, but that is only because I have a foot long beard that likes to get hairs caught in those buckles. If you do not have a huge beard, the buckles will not be an issue.

Can’t speak to durability so much as I have only had them for a few months, but If I get a year out of them I will be happy with the way I beat on bibs. So far, so good, and I literally wear these almost every day even when I am not at work.

I will probably buy a few more pairs of this style to get a rotation going.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI like almost everything about them except Carhartt’s typical narrow fit even in relaxed fit. I wear relaxed fit in Levi’s and other brands at a 38/34 with a super loose waist band and a belt to compensate for my large thighs. My waist fits a 36 but 36 pants won’t go over my thighs even in relaxed(loose is typically too baggy). In Carhartt 38 fits like a 36 in other brands in the waist and their relaxed thighs are ok but the cut does not allow raising my knees to get in a truck or bend down to work without pulling the rear down to exposure. Why do brands all have such low waist bands in the back now? I am tired of looking at everyone’s ass crack including mine. I love the Carhartt brand but some of us need more thigh and butt room. My overalls are very narrow in the waist and and thighs and calves are too tight to allow adjustments of socks without removal. A little more room and movement considerations would be greatly appreciated for us large guys! I love straighter legs but they are not practical to work in unless you have free time to deal with it !!!

Extremely comfortable and size is perfect. The only con is that they are not as stiff and heavy as the original carhartt. So we’ll see how long they last. I’m a welder so I might load them up with starch to stiffen them up

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThe reviews for sizing are all over the place. Hopefully my review will help someone out and save a return / exchange. My measurements: I am 6′ tall, 235 lbs muscular frame. My normal jeans size vary between 32″-34″ waist and 32″-34″ inseam depending on the brand. I ordered three sizes of Carhartt Mens Rugged Flex Rigby Bib Overalls in Gravel colorway and tried all three on with underwear and T-shirt only. The 34W x 32L fit me alright, a bit tight though, especially when the top two side buttons were done up, no extra room for longjohns or layering and a bit restrictive for movement. Length was good. 34W x 34L, same as above, legs are too long for me. My ideal size ended up being 36W x 32L which I found a bit surprising. I normally don’t wear 36″ waist jeans or 32″ inseams, usually 34″. 36W x 32L fit great with a nice snug, but comfortable fit with room for longjohns and plenty of flexibility for movement. The quality seems great. The brass / metal hardware is easy to use and looks durable. The fabric, as others have pointed out is much softer than standard canvas, with 1% elastane for the perfect amount of stretch. The front of the legs have an extra panel sewn on top for twice the thickness and durability. The pockets and storage are fantastic for many uses. I could see these lasting a long time and getting better with age if handled properly. I’ll buy four pairs in 36W x 32L at $114 CAD which is the current price. Great buy on a high value, practical item.

Lighter material but seems tough. Worn several times and no rips or tears. I usually order 32×34 to give myself space for over other clothes but saw people saying they were long so went 30×34. Still too big, can wear them but straps all the way to the top and pockets way down low. Also, the attachment of straps is not the usual loop over button but these tricky metal clasps can be frustrating as you have to get it lined up in this exact way to put them on and take them off. Almost ready to get my knife out and cut the straps at the end of a long hot day!
While the pockets are very low for me they are roomy and have both left (double) and right (single + hammer loop) tool/knife pockets. I love that. And not cargo pockets but the regular knife, tool size, though the right is a bit bigger. Ideally I’d have them reversed, but glad to have left leg pockets. Bib pockets are good though the little short pencil? pockets are too short to retain a pencil or marker, they fall out. Don’t know what they are supposed to be good for unless you cut your fingers off and need a place to put them – then perfect. The zipper pouch and the other two will all hold a notepad or phone. I haven’t used the zipper pouch much since the overalls are so long I have the bib right up to my neck where further bulk would be uncomfortable.
So I am thinking of another pair and would like to know if the 30×30 would be better? If it’s shorter so straps can come down and pockets go up. For $90 on lightweight overalls I would like a better fit.
Update: the coin pocket, the smaller one within the right front pocket is way too deep. I usually use this for drill/driver bits or other small things while working but it’s too deep to reach to bottom with fingers and awkwardly located to stitch shut halfway up since it’s within the main pocket. Just sort of a bummer and screws me up trying to dig something out of it when I use it out of habit formed by every other such pocket in the history of making pants that is half as deep.

I have wanted to have a pair of these for a good few years and couldn’t justify the cost initially.
The sizing is correct, I wear 34″x32″ jeans almost everyday. I’m 5’9″, about 13 stone and a 33″ waist. These fit me perfectly!
It’s like I’m not even wear any pants!

Double layered front, tons of pockets and these are really comfortable to wear straight out the bag. Some carhartt gear can be stiff heavy feeling, the duck canvas especially so, the chore jacket I have still stands up on its own, 8 years later and many many washes.

These will last a long long time, making the price small in the long run.
If you can find them in stock, get them whilst you can.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGeiles teil. 5/5

You really do get what you pay for. I’ve ummed and arghed about spending the money on a pair of carhartt overalls, but they came up in the black Friday sales and for 50 I took the dive.

It was totally worth it. Double layered material in the right places with an abundance of secure stitching. Really comfy and fit well.

I wear them 5 days a week for work and apart from the usual work stains, they have stayed intact like new. Unlike a 30 pair that started falling apart within the first day.

I’m lucky I got them for the price I did rather than the usual 80+ mark, but even for their usual RRP, they’ll certainly last.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBe wary of reviews about getting a size up. They fit perfect. I wear a 34″ waist in jeans so my waist isn’t exactly 34″ shall we say. A touch bigger perhaps! I made the mistake of originally getting a 36″+ a 38″ waist thinking the sizing maybe out. They are not. Even on the product they say “buy original pant size”. I am a 42″ chest with a 34/36″ waist. And the 34″ that I had to reorder fit well. Any reviewer that says buy a size or even 2 sizes up are kidding themselves about their size waist. If you wear 34″ normally, I would recommend, based on my own personal experience to buy 34″. I will add they are roomy around the crotch and the straps I’ve found have to be adjusted to the maximum but still fit slightly loose. But I’ve only yet worn a T shirt with them. I would not wear jeans or trousers underneath. They are a good quality medium to heavy weight material so they will be worn as is.
This is my first pair of dungarees and my review is based on a good regular fitting. If you prefer a loose fit with plenty of room get a 36″.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWill i buy these again? Yes! But.. Probably not for work.

Firstly, they are a game changer, the little stretch goes a long way and they are crazy comfortable. Nice and light, great through the summer and will likely be great in the winter with that little stretch and some heavier layers underneath.

They arent heavy duty or near as durable as the OG bibs. They are great for around the house, shop, and yard but certainly wont hold up very long at work. Wore them for a solid two weeks doing light service work and they already have noticeable wear. I will continue to wear them everyday while its warm and if i wear them through the winter ill likely end up having to buy new ones every 6 months (instead of yearly with the original bibs) for the sake of comfort. If you work in physically demanding environments and industries like drilling, forestry, heavy mechanical, these probably wont hold up long enough to make it worth it for you. Light trade work, railroading, driving, running equipment? Get em! They are a game changer!
