It's good quality but go for the 2kw versio
Good quality and the log flame effect is great. Small point but i would have liked 2nd power setting to be 2kw.

The best thing is you can turn on and just have the flames of the fire with logs it’s brilliant and has two heat settings that are perfect!

Ordered product at 1pm and it was delivered same day at 15:30 by a polite and friendly courier. Does not get any better than that!
Very neat and well made and the flame effect is excellent. If possible it might have been better to have the controls at the front of the fire rather than the back as it will be fitted inside the fireplace opening.
Nice
It’s a nice looking little stove. I’ve got a larger optymist in the main living room, which is fabulous, but I wanted a smaller one for the other room. There don’t seem to be any micro optymist stoves, so I settled for the optiflame.
Came very quickly, no assembly required. No remote, but I wasn’t expecting one. According to the booklet, lamps cannot be replaced. The door does not open, and the switches are on the back of the unit, near the top.
It does look very realistic. Not as good as optymist, but nearly.
It fits into the old fireplace nicely.
The smaller living room leads on to the kitchen and dining room, so can’t really be shut up as you have to walk through it. To have the flame effect on gives a warmer feel to the house, and you can hang Christmas stockings up without burning the house down.
I will always prefer coal fires, but as coal wont be on sale from next Feb, and as wood burners cause cancer and pollution and wood will become very very expensive once coal is banned, I decided to go electric – gas boilers also about to be phased out and all.
Even if I run the heat, these are cheaper than coal to run. They look good, and are the best alternative to real fires there are, at the moment.
Great little fire
It arrived already put together and ready to go, the optiflame is brilliant, so realistic, an excellent fire from Dimplex, I have its big brother in the lounge. I don’t use the heat source only the flame for aesthetic. Well made, solid, very pleased.

Just what I wanted!
This little fire fits neatly into the recess in my fireplace. The flame effect looks lovely. I didn’t realise the heat output is less than my previous larger fire of this type, but this doesn’t really matter to me as I bought more with style and appearance in mind! And I’m delighted with my purchase, it’s just what I wanted. As others have said, I disliked the Dimplex logo stuck onto the front of the appliance, I thought it completely spoilt the look of it, but I was able to very carefully peel it off without any damage to the black finish.
Bought for my daughter’s new house. It has been recessed into a real fire place which she doesn’t want to use. Lovely glow and warmth in the room, especially on these dark nights.
Check the dimensions
This fire is tiny, and in some locations it would have worked, but not a main room. My fault for not reading dimensions. I would have kept it for a small room but it was damaged. They clearly sent me someone’s return as the box was all taped and bashed.
Ideal small micro stove
This was an ideal size micro stove for a small fireplace and the flame effect is very good.
Great small stove
This little stove fits perfectly in our fireplace. Was going to have a real fire reinstated but decided not to burn tree logs after reading about European deforestation. This stove is clean and efficient and looks great. Bit of smell when using the heater but hoping this will go off. Often use just the log flame function without heater. Dropped one star as it was expensive compared to other similar stoves.

I am by these comments requesting Amazon to attach the correct manual for this heater.
For the avoidance of doubt you cannot change the LED bulbs.
Many people will buy this fan heater for the very pleasing flame effect. I am therefore hoping that the diodes last many years. Otherwise you will end up with a dull fan heater. Amazon should remove the incorrect manual as it misleads potential customers. My electric stove received today came with the correct manual a bit late but I will keep the heater to see how it performs over the coming months.
A great alternative
We purchased this after realising a gas stove was not an option and we’re really happy with this alternative. Looks cool and the flame only effect is a really nice touch. Very happy 🙂

Studied lots of models and was very satisfied with this Dimplex. It was more expensive than others but it’s a solid cabinet, with very good flame effect, looks good. The heat output is good and the cable length adequate.
Lovely Dimplex stove
Purchased this Dimplex electric micro stove as an additional source of heat in sitting room, after spending 11 days without heating and hot water due to a boiler failure. It is slightly small, but fits into my fireplace perfectly. It looks good, gives a great flame effect, and the heat output is very good too. Very happy with my purchase, and would recommend.
Warm & glow effect is excellent. For small room only
This is a super fire for a small room. If you need to heat a middle to large sized room best to purchase a larger model.

Very efficient heater and realistic flame
We use in our conservatory and has been ideal in recent very cold weather to top up heating- the flame effect also gives great focal point and psychologically makes you feel warmer. Very well made compact design also.

A great mini stove!
This item is really great. It is small enough to move with ease, but produces plenty of heat. I particularly like the fact I can have the flame effect on without heat if I want. It also looks good and can be placed where I want it. Definitely recommend
Great little fire effect heate
Great little heater. Bought as used in great condition for 20. Have used the flame effect on it’s own almost every night and only put the heating on when it was very cold for a boost of heat. It makes the room appear warm and cosy.
Lovely little fireplace.
Does the job, fits perfectly into the small space in our fireplace. Doesn’t get too hot and has a nice fire effect.
Pictures and video don’t do justice to how good the flame effect is – you can easily forget it’s not real!
Only problem was it started to get very loud when just on the flame effect – to the extent that I contacted the manufacturer and they swapped out the unit.
There’s still a small amount of background noise but not obtrusive
Agree with other reviews, this is a lovely little stove. Was missing my larger Dimplex with two opening doors and real coal, which I foolishly gave away when I moved. Didn’t realise my new inset fire was a hologram, can’t compare with realistic Optiflame. Not used heater yet. Am pleased it is almost silent when flame effect used alone.
I am so pleased with this little fire, and that’s the key, it is little. I did lots of research to find a stove effect electric fire which would be small enough to fit into a 1950’s fireplace. This was the smallest I could find, it fits perfectly, and because it’s Dimplex it is also very well made. Thank too, to the people who wrote detailed reviews I could base my purchase on. When lit it creates a warm glow which lights up a dull fireplace: the glow effect can be switched on without the heater being activated. I love it.

cosy little fire
Purchased to fit a small fire place which is does perfectly , the flame effect is very real and the heater settings are good ,although a bit noisy but overall very happy with the fire.
Bought this partly so that it added a look to the room, but it’s surprisingly warm. Seems well made, chucks out a decent amount of heat and looks quite realistic.
The size and appearance are perfect for our fireplace. The two settings allow savings without compromising on heat. I have been very pleased with this fire, which can also stand alone; if I need another electric fire, this is what I would buy.
Given the small recess in our fireplace there wasn’t a huge choice in the line of stoves that would fit, this one was about the only one and that’s the reason why I went for it. But it’s actually a really lovely little stove, gives a very cosy glow and very relaxing to watch. I can’t really comment on the heating element yet as other than switching it on to ensure it works it hasn’t been cold enough the last couple of days since I bought the stove to warrant having the heat on.
Would certainly recommend it though, especially if like us you have an old Victorian flue that needs reclined and you don’t have a spare couple of grand to do so, this wee stove will trick you into thinking you’ve got a jolly fire going and with no more effort than the flick of a switch.
Oh, talking of switches, they are at the back of this stove but right at the top so for us it hasn’t been an issue. It was something that concerned me before I made my purchase but I needn’t have worried.
Ticks all the boxes for me.
1.2KW is perfect to heat up the room this is in quickly then the 600w setting is good for maintaining the temperature without hammering the electricity too much. I wasn’t expecting too much looks wise for 90 but it’s every bit as good as the 500 opti myst stove I have in another room without the pain of filling a water tank/the condensation problems that come with constantly using the optimyst fires with the steam/smoke effect. If they did a 1.2kw version in the full size I would have gone with that.
