At first I was sceptical about spending this much on a fan – usual stick to cheap supermarket fans that last one summer!

However, it is well worth the money!! The speed setting are generous and the fan is no where near as loud as previous fans. Good degree of rotation. The fan starts at normal bed height so ideal for sleeping. Very useful to have a remote control too. I will consider buying a second!

Absolute godsend for the recent heatwave!!
Seems fairly powerful, love the remote, that works well, so don’t have to get up to turn it up, down, on, off etc especially when in bed.
Don’t use the timer so can’t comment on that, seems to work well and don’t think it’s overly noisy.

This tower fan would fit in all rooms as very compact. It was Easy to assemble but the only thing I noticed is the fan wobbles from side to side when not on sweeping mode.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOk, tower fans are never as powerful as normal ones but this does the job. Putting the base on was a fiddle but once done it’s secure and doesn’t wobble when running, despite being so tall. Love that it’s tall so you actually get the benefit in bed. Noisy beep every time you press a button on unit or on remote is a little annoying at night but this isn’t the end of he world

Not the quietest fan on the lowest setting however perfect for its purpose! Keeps us fresh day and night in the bedroom, nature mode is odd, never use it. The fan arrived WHITE not lilac or purple as some mentioned, we were lucky! Unboxing. Nightmare, but thats a tiny detail! The product overall is excelle

This fan replaced the original Dimplex fan and runs equally well and quietly. Haven’t tried out the sleep mode yet but the rest is just as expected and I am happy with it. The only negative is that the build quality should be a bit more robust as the previous one only lasted about 6 years.

Bought one in 2020 and a other in 2021 for bedrooms. Really great, I like the fact they’re tall, so when in bed you are feeling the air rather than it just cooling down the base of the bed, like smaller tower fans!

I like the height of this. Good circulation of cool air. Only been using it on the lowest setting so far and that’s good enough for me. Personally, i find it can be a bit loud, but if in living room with TV or music on you kinda forget about it, but I wouldn’t be able to sleep if i had this on in the bedroom. Quite loud beeps when using remote and settings. Summer coming up soon, let’s see if it really stands up to the test then. Happy with so far though.

It is a well designed fan, very tall and powerful enough to ventilate the areas , refresh and to cool down warm flats like mine. I purchased this fan because I didn’t want a traditional fan, and the Dyson s were too expensive/ for a fraction of the price literally , and a technology that is slightly more traditional than the dyson, this tower fan surpassed my expectations specially when I bought it , on the low price ( Dane price as a normal tripod fan )

Wanted a tower fan to replace our existing pedestal fan, this one is perfect as it’s taller than most Tower fans so can stand on the floor rather than take up space on a table

Only 4 stars as the the plastic almost makes it feel cheap? Other than that, not very loud at all, usually sleep with it on the lowest setting as I prefer to have ambient noise going on, worked perfect for the British heatwave of 2021.

Bit early days to review it as I only got it yesterday.

When it arrived boxed up, the packaging looked challenging but it was easy to get the fan out of the box after I’d slit it down the side seam. You can’t push it through the bottom or top – it is packed too tightly. But once it was opened up and release the fan, you just slide the polystyrene down in two directions near each end to release the fan and wiring and then cut through the plastic wrapping. Easy peasy. Besides, there is instructions on how to get it out if you are unsure. I didn’t need to use them.

The fan was easy to assemble and the instructions are inside. All there is a fan, remote and base that needs attaching with four supplied screws. For the remote control, you first have to open up the back with a tiny screwdriver and insert the battery that is enclosed. There are no instructions on how to insert the battery. All you do, is just slip it under the metal clip. It bounces about a bit rather that staying seated in the cavity, but the plastic outer battery casing, once replaced, ensures the battery stays in place. Just secure with the same tiny screw.

It looks great, once erected. Just plug in and a blue light tells you it is on standby. When you operate, more blue lights come on on the dash plate. For some, this might prove problematic if you don’t want any lighting in a very dark room. I love it. When switched on, the air flow seems powerful enough and cools the room well, in what is now a moderately warm late summer. I don’t know what it is like on a very hot day though – the time you most need it. For most of the year it should be fine. I don’t find it too noisy either. Just a swish sound like natural breeze or light wind. There are no rattles and rumbles when placed in oscillation mode (although it is important to feed the wire under the base groove to prevent it being wobbly, otherwise it might rattle and roll about on what would otherwise be an uneven surface.

So far so good. For the price it is more than adequate and can see me using it a lot. It comes with a guarantee, which is good too. I expect it to last a year or two with regular use. If it lasts longer, I see that as more than adequate for a fan that costs less than 50.

Dimplex are a great brand. I have one of their electric fires, which has lasted me for over 20 years. That’s why I bought this brand again for this fan.

Very happy with this fan. Unlike some of the other reviews, there was no issue with the colour. It is crisp and white. Other reviews have also said about the difficulty of taking it out of the packaging and yes, that was a nightmare but overall, really happy with it and would definitely recommend.

We have had one of these fans for a number of years now & they are great; so we bought another one for a different room in the house.

Remote is really handy & covers all the functions of the fan, it provided a well needed breeze on the hot days & nights; even though it has 3 fan speeds we find setting 1 is powerful enough. The height of the fan area is the best we have found for the money, if your sat down it covers head to toe (well ankle anyway). Easy to put together & slim design means it’s doesn’t take up too much room & easy to store away when not needed.

    Two downsides:
    1. Sleep & natural mode is annoying as it goes through different fan speeds, including off, but you don’t have to use them.
    2. It’s not quiet, but what fan is unless you pay 300+ more a certain other brand! & We have had other fans that are louder & less powerful than this one.

We have a flat roof on our bedroom which makes the room very hot. This fan does the job of cooling down the room well. Some may find the control panel a little bright during the night, but I have no problem with it.

Looks great in a room, much better aesthetics than a large bladed fan. It is one of the taller towers ar 120cm, I bought it for this purpose so its not obscured by the side of the bed, sofa, tables etc. Nice neon display and adiditon of timer. Power is good and doesn’t sacrifice noise levels either. Stand could be a heavier to add stability, with an overall good build quality for 60. Would recommend at this price range for a good tower fan.

  22. PauletteDenney says:

    The fan itself is effective.
The plastic base comes separately and in two pieces which did not slot together evenly as they are meant to. The base has to be secured to the fan with four screws from underneath, which involves holding the fan horizontally – a very awkward manouevre! It is lightweight and therefore easy to move but also feels a bit top heavy. If purchasing again I would go for a slightly shorter version.

This fan is slimline and has some nice features on it (the remote is very handy) I love the fact it has a sleep function as we bought this for my son who has ecxema and getting of to sleep is hard this keeps him cool but can be set to go off after two or four hours which helps the electric bill 😉 my only niggle is its a little noisy but this doen’t seem to bother our son.

This is the second one I got from Amazon. The first one had a horrible clicking sound during oscillation which was distracting at night. Returned it next day and got a replacement. Can’t fault Amazon customer service there.
The fan itself is tall which is great as we now no longer need to stand in a box at night in order for it to easily blow across the bed.
It’s not quiet even on the lowest setting but it’s still quiet enough to be able to fall asleep to.
Sleep mode is a bit irritating so we don’t use it. The constant speed up and slow down is noisy.
The remote control is great. Always like to have a remote for things like this so you don’t need to get out of bed
Overall it’s a decent fan which is much taller than others out there which might just be its best feature. Other than that it’s just a standard upright tower fan. Does what it should.

Bought for use in a bedroom, primarily, this tower fan was efficient and effective.

    Pros:
Good turning circle to move air around a room
    Easy to control
    Relatively quiet on low setting
    Timer function
Lightweight so easy to move from room to room

    Cons
Almost impossible to get out of the packaging – instructions tell you to pull, but the packaging has the product firmly sellotaped to the inside of the box
Not that quiet on the higher settings (and not, as a result in sleep mode)

The fan Produces strong wind and not very noisy, it also has a good height which is perfect for the bed.

The only thing that could be improve is the lights which are strong so not very good for the night, I’ve fixed it by covering the light.

I would strongly recommend this fan, very good product for the price.

So glad I bought this during the winter in expectation of a heatwave or two. This stands in our room, me working in one corner, the guinea pigs living on the other side, and we can all feel the benefit of the cool airflow wafting about.
It feels cool, although there is no actual cooling mechanism. Just shaded room, and moving the air around.
The steady mode means it’s easy to consign the sound to a background noise. I tried it on the variable setting, and couldn’t get used to the stop-start effect.
Although I’m a light sleeper I reckon I could use this in the bedroom, since not sleeping for the heat is not easily fixed: not sleeping for sound, well – earplugs!
You need to be able to store it in an upright position, since the careful instructions on unpacking it are partly to stop you damaging it in its lying down position. But I found them reasonably easy to follow, although sliding the machine out of the close-fitting packaging would have been easier with someone on the other end!
The remote is easy to use and there’s a neat holder for it at the back of the tower. If only I’d noticed that before I stored it somewhere safe!
Altogether I think this is an excellent buy, and I’m so glad I got it before I needed it. The guinea pigs approve too, now they are used to it!

Best thing I've bought - essential for UK Heatwaves!

First unit broken on arrival. Awaiting replacement. Collected by Hermes the day after I requested replacement, Working unit received the day after that so was very prompt.

PROS: Black Fan looks very smart and is easy to assemble. Great air flow, three good power settings. Timer works well and the remote is handy (it has a convenient storage space under the control unit on the fan itself). It’s tall enough so that it can be used in a bedroom and the airflow blows over the bed rather than under it. It is quieter than a pedestal fan.

CONS: Natural and sleep modes are a bit pointless so won’t be using. Blue light on the top may disturb some but we don’t have an issue ourselves. It also beeps when using the controls, so if you have someone else asleep in the room when changing settings it may disturb them (again not a problem for us). Packaging really hasn’t been thought through despite the unpacking instructions.

NOTES: Unpacking requires cutting the box to extract the product (i suggest running a knife down the seam corner so it can be taped up should you need to return it). On assembling the base, when you push the 2 halves of the base together you may see a ridge on the top. Put a palm top and bottom and squeeze til you hear them snap into place. Don’t forget to put the cable through the cable guide on the bottom of the base, to allow the cable to pass through without making the stand wobbly. It really is a decent product for the price provided you get it unpacked properly and use a bit of common sense when assembling the base.

An excellent fan that I would highly recommend. I bought two of these devices and they have proven to be excellent purchases; they have 3 power settings for the fan, and several timer settings at varying increments from 1 to 8 hours. The remote control works well and enables power, timer, and other settings from the comfort of your chair.

The fan is fairly quiet, and the rotation helps to cover a good angle to keep a whole room cool. However one of the best assets of this fan is it’s size; tall enough to ‘fan’ over most tables and sofas, but with a very compact base so it can fit into almost anywhere.

Definitely worth purchasing, highly recommended and at a reasonable cost.

I Don’t very often give out 5 star reviews but for this fan I will. This is my second fan only having to replace it after 10 years service from my old one! And trust me it gets used a lot espcially as I have to have a fan on a lot at night. So worth the money.
It is a great fan with 3 different fan speeds plus 1 setting that cycles through the different speeds & a night mode. It also has a timer.
For me because i go to sleep with a fan most nights the noise does not really effect me but I personally think it is not to load to go to sleep with.

As other reviews, I agree it is difficult to remove from the box. The box also came damaged but the fan was alright. It keeps the air moving on hot days. The fan is loud and honestly I don’t think the other functions do anything with the noise. Also it has a very bright blue light on the top that annoys my light sensitive husband. I think it is a good fan.

We have purchased 2 of these fans previously and they are great because the cooling air is nice and high. Previous fans were both black, but we thought we would go for a cleaner fresher look and ordered the white. However, they are the strangest colour of white I have ever seen and have a definite pink hue, which is very frustrating. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue?

I already had this in black, and decided to go with another in white for the bedroom. It isn’t exactly white, more a very pale lavender/lilac colour, but it suits my room and I like the colour. Does the job and is very good at cooling the room.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe fan arrived fast, as expected, and it’s really good, I choose this one because a friend has it since 3 years and it’s perfectly functional. I found it a bit difficult to assembly the lower part(stative) as there’s no instructions about it, and I saw many customers complained about it’s not stable. Once you put the screws right, it’s perfect. I attach a photo of how they should be assembly. To take it out of the box was easy(two people pulling on one side, and it didn’t break the white protection at all:)
It’s silentios, and I think I will use it on the most low speed, as it makes a strong wind.

I bought 2 and they were delivered on the hottest day of the year so far. One of our bedroom and one for child’s room.
Bladeless fans eliminate some danger for people or animals but I guess it’s still possible to be knocked over.

As per other reviews, it is packed tight and I recommend opening both ends of the box and push it through (ironic that the instructions for how to get it out of the box are in the box).

3 fan speeds (I wouldn’t say weak but not powerful either).
Even on 3, it’s not that loud, especially if you compare it to a blade fan. Can quite easily fall asleep with it on 1 (could probably sleep on 3 but I’m not the best judge on that).

Timer function is great and reliable, as is the remote.

    Looks pretty cool too.

I’d buy another one if I needed to and would recommend it.

This was one of the best buys I’ve made.
Love this thing, the fan is really strong – there are 3 speed settings and I’ve yet to bother setting it higher than the first. There is some wind noise but its not disruptive in the room and one can sleep comfortably.

The height of the unit is brilliant, the fan accounts for around 50% of the unit height (top, starting just below the controls). Its general styling is very neat, modern and smart.

I was initially weary of this unit as some of the reviews mentioning rattling, noise etc, but I was looking for the height. After unboxing it and general testing, I oiled the bearings (they were a bit dry) and put a frictionless strip under the bottom ring where the plastic cowling can sometimes just catch when rotating – not a single rattle or squeak.

Considering the price and value against other one to three hundred, plus, Pound fans out there – where you’re paying more for the brand than anything else, I give it : 4.5 awesome stars.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe delivery from DPD was not good. The promised txt advising of the 1hr deliver slot never materialised the result being, the first delivery attempt was missed. The 2nd attempt was left where requested although the door was not padlocked afterwards as mandated in my instructions. The box had been damaged and resealed with depot tape.
As others have stated the product packaging is a nightmare – everything should slide out of the box but the reality is it doesn’t so, be prepared for a bit of a fight.
The product: well mine had slight cosmetic damage down one side and due to the state of the packaging I’d guess this occurred during transit. I am very happy with the product itself though. The base needs to be assembled but this is a quick easy one person job. It is, as other reviews have stated, a pretty flimsy, light weight plastic base. Due to the height of the fan this does cause it to seem a little unstable. The fan itself has a good range of power sending out a nice soft breeze. Is it noisy? Yes it makes a noise. Its a mechanical object. It is not as noisy as a pedestal oscillating fan though nor do I find the noise irritating. There are some settings I’m not convinced I’ll ever use but it’s always nice to have the option. The fan looks nice; there’s certainly nothing horrible looking about it. It is slimmer than many on the market and so useful if floor space is tight.
This is a different creature to the normal pedestal oscillating fan and personally, I much prefer this option.

Golden Review Award: 128 From Our UsersInitially difficult to get out the box without ripping the packaging, so i had to just rip away, then i was worried incase i needed to return it.
Once opened it was easy to assemble, it took about 5 mins, only 4 screws. The stand is a little flimsey but its doing the job.
It look well, stands in the corner of my bedroom and dosn’t take up much space.
Iv’e tried all the settings and its more than powerful enough to cool my room.
Its noisey on setting lll but i use it on number l overnight and im pleased to say it has not kept me awake. Although i thought it might.
After using it for only 4 nights i do love it and would reccomend it. The remote is tiny but works well at a distance.
I did consider the dyson fan but im pleased i tried this first bacause for a fraction of the price its keeping my room cool. (Menopausal and finding it difficult to sleep). The dyson would have been my first choice but at 400 its so expensive.
If you want a decent fan on a budget that stands in the corner of a room, go for this, i dont think i will regret this purchase. (Unless anything goes wrong with it).

Purchased 4 of these from Amazon.co.uk for 49.99 each. An excellent upright tower fan; I purchased four of these in the end and had to open them up to disable / reduce the brightness of the LEDs and muffle the beeper. It seems this is identical to the Xpelair Mont Blanc XPP Tower Cooling Fan, 40 W, White, albeit in black colour.

The fan is well designed and a good height for an upright tower fan. Note that only the upper 2/3rds of the tower unit house a fan – the lower 1/3 is just casing.

When using in a bedroom, the blue LED lights are very bright and tend to light up the room at night. This was easily solved by removing the screws and opening up the top unit, and using black electrical tape to block out the “Power” LED, and white electrical tape to dim the other LEDs. Otherwise, at night, it is like leaving a blue tourch on pointing at the ceiling. Electrical tape over the beeper also helped to reduce the “beeping” noise it makes whenever a setting is changed.

The units seem easy to clean and some directed WD40 oiling helps to keep them running smoothly. However, I did notice that some of them do “rattle” a little more than others, especially on high settings.

However, I do have one by the bedside about 1.5 metres away and found that on a low setting, it is not disturbing to me whilst sleeping. But it does seem to vary from unit to unit, as some of them are more noisy, even after oiling (so your mileage may vary!).

The remote control works well and as they are all identical, you can use one remote for all of the units if you have several.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersThese are good fans…. the price is a bit ridiculous but I was buying them for a client so I didn’t have to pay for them myself. When you consider these were originally being sold at Cost Co or Argos for 40 you appreciate the build quality better (and also the mark up on them).

They are a bit taller than you expect when you first see them. We wanted tall to help distribute the air better around the rooms. They are certainly at a good height for that.

On the positive they are strong and put out a lot of breeze. The actual fans on top speed might be noisy to some ears.. for me I got used to them quite quickly and it didn’t bother me. There’s a remote control that comes with them and this fits into a little click-in cubby hole space on the back which is a great idea.

On the negative, the bases are obviously a bit wide and this prohibited us from sticking the fan right up against the wall and hiding it behind the curtains when not in use. Also due to the height and weight of it, the fan tends to leaning forward a little until you turn it on to full power where it stands straight upright.

Little bits of black plastic fell out of one of the 2 I bought.. I’m not sure if this will become a problem or not.

The main bad thing about these fans is the noise made by the bottom of the case vibrating. Yes folk, this is what makes them so damn noisy. The good news is you can easily remove them and still have an elegant tower fan. If you prefer the bottom section to remain on then you could possibly come up with a way fix it in place and stop the rattle.

I agree with everything from the first review but I work from home often standing to package items & also with a high gas lift chair at my computer so… I just lift it onto a large 15 inch high corner table – perfect for me..

Having said this I can feel it on my face when on the floor but it’s not really a breeze – I have a 45ft work-room.. half way is a doorway to the hall.. standing in the hall just beyond the doorway I could feel the coolness from it on my face- it was on the floor on the 1st (lowest) setting
I too love the little 7cm x 4cm button free battery suplied remote – it has all the functions & clicks into the top back when not needed, a small push clicks it back out again.
I’m begining to parrot the 1st persons review so I’ll just say you probably will have to raise the volume on your T.V & perhaps speak a tad louder/clearer.
Oviously the higher the setting the louder it is.
It looks like the old heavy bakelite to me which gives it a look of stylish quaility that could be from days gone by
The Ocillate function is great & it moves from side to side smoothly
It sells like ‘hot cakes’ but they usually add more stock quicker than stated.
