Gemx Hi Vis Vest Class 2 Zipper Front High Visibility Safety

 

Value for money high viz with several pockets. I added some extra velcro to the pockets to ensure nothing can fall out. Probably not super durable but I’m happy enough at the price.

 

Would have been 5 star, but wanted pockets on a hi-viz in order to put my 6 inch mobile phone in. However these pockets are not large enough for this. A slightly smaller phone would likely fit, but these days most mobiles are this size. So beware if you are considering it for the same purpose.

 

I like everything except the ridiculously small phone pocket, the most popular uk phone is the I phone, there is no way an I phone or similar phone will fit the phone pocket that is really disappointing and had an I phone fit then the product would have been perfect, I hope the manufacturers take note.

 

This high visibility safety jacket is lightweight and easily folded into a bag or the door pocket of a car, or can be dolded and carried in a coat pocket. The orange is a nice warm colour for men. Plenty of reflectors, 2 large front pockets, a small transparent pocket to hold an ID badge, and a wmall mobile phone pocket. The phone would need to be very narrow indeed. It just about holds an outdated small well known big name brand 5s at a pinch although the velcro flap just barely closes. Not really an issue, thanks to the 2 generous front pockets. I am 5′ 8″ and 13 stone weight. I normally wear a 44″ (112cm ) chest size coat. This XL SIZE fits neatly and comfortably over my outdoor, lined jacket and slips fairly easily over the semi sheen finish. In cold weather I would always wear a light weight, fine knit woolen pullover beneath the jacket. I was not wearing a pullover underneath my coat in this instance when the photos were taken. As the high viz vest was just a tidy fit, the XXL SIZE would be more appropriate to my size. I agree with the recommendation by a previous reviewer who suggested buying 2 sizes above that of your usual jacket or coat size. Remember that your normal coat measurement is taken from your actual chest measurement and then a little larger for room inside a coat. These hi viz jackets are then going over the outside measurement of that coat. My friend who is the same height as me but about a stone lighter, had trouble getting this on over a jacket which had a peach type outer material as it was hard to slip the arms easily through the arm holes, as it didn’t slide at all easily over the lightly padded arms. This is another reason to consider buying at leat one, but preferrably two sizes bigger than your normal jacket size. He can have this one and I will definitely by another for myself in the XXL SIZE. This is a jacket that it makes great sense to have. I live on a small country road and it is best to have one of these even when out walking through the day. They are very well priced and easy to carry or store, and I have no hesitation in recommending them to you.

 

Nice and lightweight, can be rolled up and put in a bag, or ruck sack. No warmth, and 100% polyester fabric with reflective stripes.
The reflective charcoal very good out and about. Use this one for dog walking. Nice having decent size pockets at the front. One narrow pocket on the right side I assume keys, tiny torch, no way would my mobile phone fit in it, my size anyway. The left breast has a see through plastic window for ID. Another Velcro pocket either side of the jacket.

Next the size. My husband is 5ft 7, weighs 11.5 stone and waist 32″. After measuring he was in between sizes from medium to large. I ordered large and a perfect fit with a light sweater underneath. However if the vest top is for over a jacket etc, I would think go up two sizes. In this one there is moveability without being restrictive….

The vest as it’s termed isn’t without defects as seen in my images. Loose thread and loads of tiny holes. Luckily the holes are not showing on the outside of the vest, it’s inside and manly on the reflective silver grey parts. Some holes are shown on the orange part, but inside the vest. Pretty annoying if paying 9.99 currently and showing defects.

As can be seen it is sleeveless
Washable and breathable – wash in cold water
Anyone can wear them
Zip up front which works well.

Decent value and cost effective, certainly useful and a great idea especially walking and dog walking.
Would have been five stars, had no choice but to loose a star because of defects.

This is a very good quality hi Vis vest. It has a zip , a feature not all these vests have. Plus, it has pockets. It was a nice large fit and was comfy to wear. This product would be good for night time walkers or runners. I’m going to put it in the boot of the car incase of nighttime breakdown.
