This thing rips. I’ve used several 1″ impacts working on heavy equipment in the field. Most 1″ impacts are heavy metal this 2850 seems like it’s half the weight as most. My co worker has another brand impact that would not bust a nut loose so he grabbed this from me and the IR spin it off. He gave mine back and ordered one right then. This is the best 1″ impact money can buy. I feed this with a 1/2 inch hose and the high flow fittings from flex zilla with a 24 cfm compressor.

I bought the set where the impact plus a 20 ton bottle jack comes with it.
Let me tell you a lot of people at work struggle with lifting the other model (heavy duty) I laugh my ass off watching them stare at me lift my impact like it’s part of my arm it’s very light , believe me when you are dealing with 1 inch bolts or nuts and have the space to fit this one , this thing will spin those suckers free! Even with rusted bolts , I have dealt with some seized up bolts and had to pull out the torch to get them vary vary hot ! And throw water then torch and water again to make them metal expand. After a coupe tries this thing got them out , just oil and grease daily !!!! I love my ir.

The tools looks amazing, it very well designedThe only problem though, it’s that is nearly impossible to find the connector and the hose to make it full power.

Great if you have a big air compressor that can keep up with the gun. I work in the field alot and have a van air with a one inch line and the air compressor can’t keep up with gun. So if your in the mobile tech position just have that in mind.

This bad boy was able to take off some heavy duty box truck lucks with ease. Get this on amazon vs on the Sn*p-On truck… You’ll be thanking me!

Gun came without the handle on the front. Wonder if they insure my mechanics wrists? Even dug all the way through the mangled up box looking for it.

The middle handle was threaded for 8mmx1.0 screws but the screws that came with the gun were 8mmx1.25. Other than that the unit seems to be robust and the light weight is a pleasant surprise.

Great price for great tool. Hits harder than any other 1″ impact I’ve used
It’s a 1″ impact, if it was light i’d Be worried

Worked great to remove rusty axle nuts from my farm disc axles. Other than a blast of air that can be annoying when it finds your eyes it’s a great product.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI took a chance on buying this gun based on all the hype of the brand and the proce drop and let me tell you!! I have been doing semi tire with a cheap brand that I got a year ago and it did well never failed but now that I am able to upgrade i did

And this gun its lighter and it kicks really soft and the sound its just way quieter it did starve my 30 gal single stage gas conpressor rather quick.

So i guess I will be on the market for a 2 stage soon to keep up with this gun, I paired it with a milton 1/2 coupler and it did the job

I will give it 5 stars just because it is a night and day difference and its a joy to use

Only pronlem I had was installing the handle I had to get my tap and dye set out and clean the threads both on the hamdle and the bolts after that it was a breeze

Did I mention how light it is !!! Man this is worth every penny

Wish it came with a case tho 🙁 like the cheap ones

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI’m a heavy equipment mechanic and I purchased this 1″ drive impact to remove excavator counter weight bolts, rusted track pad bolts and Volvo A30 hull truck lugs. Let’s just say I’ll never need to borrow the 1″ community shop gun ever again! This thing has some amazing torque and seems built to last a very long time. My service truck has a 3/8″ air hose that I run all my air tools with but I’ve added a second 1/2″ hose just for this beast! It works perfectly! I’m pretty sure Ingersoll recommends a 3/4″ hose for this impact but that’s an awful big hose and I’m not to sure how my compressor would keep up with that. I would say I’m still getting 99% of this impacts torque with the 1/2″ hose though. This gun is still weighty but compared to other 1″ impacts in the same class it’s extremely light weight. I also love how I can position the handle in any position needed for the job. I believe this gun is now tied with my Milwaukee fuel 3/4 impact for favorite tool! Love my Ingersoll air tools and my Milwaukee M18 battery tools!! Ingersoll Rand’s 2850max is a 5 star tool all the way!!!!!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersIt does what I needed to do on my truck, I don’t know if it’s made in China or Cuba, but it’s made to Ingersoll Rand specs. I spent 363 bucks, it’s the same one all the shops use. I got a 28 year old compressor that’s too small but I don’t get in a rush.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersA steel worker on site had an electric tork gun for snapping off bolts on structural steel. Once he had torked the Bolts on he couldn’t get them off with the with even a 4′ Crescent wrench. This thing had no problem taking the bolt off.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersFolks, I’ve been a professional heavy equipment technician for 35 years now. The location I’m at now has a Class 8 truck/ trailer fleet of 150 units, 8 to 10 wheels each. I’ve used one of these IR 285B-6 daily for the last two years now and it hasn’t missed a beat, EVER. Class 8 OEM’s spec wheel nut torque at 450 lb ft. At our Fortune 50 company we check torque EVERY TIME we reinstall wheels. Using a 1/2″ I.D. hose @ 100 psi shop air this impact doesn’t even breathe hard to make 500 lb ft of torque tightening lug nuts and boasts triple that torque in reverse. Ingersol Rand is the “Mack Truck” of pneumatic tools. Don’t give this wise purchase a second thought, I didn’t. I bought this one for myself. The shop impact is still going strong 5+ years later. You decide. There is NO REASON to spend $1000+ for a brand name 1″ drive impact. This is a STEAL at $400. A “NO BRAINER!!!”

The item does not look exactly like the image. The one I received has a black cover on the working end. Made in China, does the job.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHad orginally bought one of these things at Harbor Freight Tools (cheapy -off brand). But when I saw this online for only $100 bucks more it was a no brainer. I returned the old one and got this. My crew loves this thing. It gets the job done! You can tell that this tool is made to last, of good quality! It’s well worth it.

Fantastic value. Saved $50 plus taxes on a great air driver. I haven’t had a chance to use it extensively but the heft and the IR name both mean it should last a long time. Works great for taking of JD tractor tires. Looking forward to using on the semis.

I bought this to change wheel nuts on my farm single axle dump truck and change blade bolts on my 14′ John Deere Mower. The wheel nuts came off like butter! Have yet to try the mower blade bolts, they are really hard to get off. However I feel sure this tool will do the job with flying colors.
