Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFantastic little coffee machine, got this to have a nice coffee in work and it is absolutely brilliant, it is compatible with all nesspresso pods ie Costa, Lidl, Tesco’s own brand, it’s compact, not very noisy and makes a nice hot coffee, I highly recommend this coffee machine.

I’ve tried several different coffee makers. I really didn’t want one that used pods but after trying the batista style ones that I found messy, I can’t fault this. Single or double pods you can buy. A great coffee maker at great price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great little nespresso original pod compatible coffee machine. Purchased on a cracking offer price, 50 and arrived just before Christmas.
The range of pods readily available from nearly every retailer makes this an affordable way to enjoy a daily latte. Or 3!

Machine itself is very sleek looking and extremely easy to use, with 3 simple buttons depending on what size of coffee you wa

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good size, light, quick to warm up, not making much noise, accepting original nespresso style pods. Having it for 3 weeks now, making at least 2 coffees a day and we love it.With the added bonus of being able to use L’Ors big pods and taking advantage of multiple offers for capsule pods. If you want a machine using the original Nespresso pods than look no further.

Had been looking for this for a few weeks before Black Friday, but prices in Argos and Curry’s were hiked up right before Black Friday started
Happened to spot this on Amazon for 45 brand new! Absolute bargain! Came with a selection of pods starter pack plus a 20 off voucher. AMAZING
Works really well. Just wish I’d got the one with frother attached.
    A very good buy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI had always fancied a capsule coffee machine at home as I work from home too. I was bored with instant, and the hassle of using ground coffee plus the whole cleaning of the cafetiere. Having pods is a super quick way to make a very decent cup of coffee. Can have some variety in strength, flavours, and options. It has been a really useful addition to our household appliances. I could almost call this part of the team!

Very pleased so far if a trifle bulky for a small kitchen.
Lovely coffees delivered from ANY capsules.
Let’s hope it keeps going as many of these machines have a very limited life, inspite of regular descaling.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPiping hot coffee every time. Bought to replace a small nespresso, find this much better to use. Plenty of space for used capsules, drip tray easy to clean and dishwasher safe. Far better value for money than a branded nespressso machine, same bar pressure and this one came with a sample pack of L’or pods to try.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersI was a little hesitant as i was unsure how the large / small capsules would work. In fact it’s really easy. The small (aluminium) pods simply fit into the holder and are brewed in exactly the same way as my old machine. It came with a selection of L’or pods both large and small. The L’or coffee is very tasty and I will now add them to my regular shopping orders. The machine came with discount vouchers as well that effectively reduce the already low price even further.
A stylish addition to the kitchen. No regrets and very happy with the purchase.

(I have not been offered any incentive for this review. I am just a regular customer who bought a new coffee machine)

Love our new coffee machine. Makes lovely thick milk foam. Easy to use. Will be trying the reusable pods to cut down on waste and enable us to us our favourite coffee.

This is a really nice machine makes 3 size cups. I like a nice latte and this makes a good shot of coffee or even a lungo size. takes the original size nespresso capsules and also many others on the market. If you brew the coffee into your warm milk makes a lovely layered coffee. Had no issues and enjoy either a small cup or large cup when I fancy with a huge range or coffees to choose from. The lor capsules are a really nice rich coffee in my opinion. with espresso to XL size.

I have had a number of nespresso compatible machines over the years. They have all been fine but they have all shared the same problem that you can’t place a normal sized mug on the drip tray. You either have to remove the drip tray, or decant your coffee from an expresso cup. At last… this is a machine where you can just use a normal sized mug without moving stuff around. This machine is also a lot quieter than the other capsule machines I have used.

I am not particularly interested in the larger capsule option (although I was very happy to receive the samples with the machine). But I guess that this might be a great option for people who want to fill their cups with lots of coffee quickly.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersL’or’s proprietary stuff aside (you can use their extra big capsules, which is cool), this is the only ‘classic’ Nespresso machine left on the market at a reasonable price. Combined with a 20 milk frother from a popular European small-supermarket, I have home coffee perfectio

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this to replace an older version and had been waiting for the price to come down. The 2 spouts dont make a lot of difference to me as I only do 1 cup at a time. The coffee is much hotter than other machines I have tried, it holds more water and it works with Nespresso compatible pods.

I received a taster pack in the box including some of the XL pods which are nice and also some money off vouchers for buying the XL pods in the supermarket. I am yet to actually find a supermarket that sell them which is disappointing. Also similar to getting the 20 voucher code if you register the machine online but have to spend 50 to use it.

Very happy with this machine, would recommend.

Using L’or XXL pods this is much better the Nesspresso single pod machine. Two coffees in the same time as it takes to make one, and I feel the L’or coffee is better.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI am normally not bothered to write a review but I want to do it this time.
I have a good bean-to-cup manual coffee machine which I have been using for over 3 years until recently it had some issues and was sent for a repair.
So I can’t live without a coffee and I don’t want to spend a lot buying them everyday at the shop.
I was tempted to buy a reasonably priced machine that even if my previous machine is repaired I can still use another one to have fun. I did a lot of research then I felt this might be a good one. And I eventually bought it while the price was really good.
I just tried it. I am so excited it’s flawless. The demonstration pictures are a bit confusing as the actual size of the machine is not that bulky. It’s quick to heat up and makes very good coffee. I have to say I am a picky person but this one I have nothing to complain about!

Works with the majority of pods and super easy to use and clean. Plus roasting two cups at once is a great help.
I picked it up as an offer in prime day but it’s still worth more than the full price.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis machine is easy to use. It takes a while to get rid of the factory taste and you need to play around with the capsules to discover a favourite.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI chose this machine to replace our Netpresso which only lasted 2 years. One of the features I was looking for was a larger water tank, and this has been a real improvement. The ability to do 2 cups at once is great when got visitors etc, and I do like the double sized capsules too – just hard to get hold of and still awaiting a reply from the L’or website about my discount query after 2 weeks… The larger empty capsule tank was an unexpected bonus, and the drip tray etc. is much better thought out than our previous machine. If it lasts several years I will be extremely pleased with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersREASON FOR PURCHASE:
The prices of Nespresso coffee machines that use the original small capsules have become too expensive for me and I didn’t want to switch to their newer Vertuo machines which, although reasonably priced, only take Nespresso’s double sized capsules and I don’t always want a double shot of coffee

Therefore, I chose the Phillips L’OR Barista coffee machine which uses L’OR XXL capsules for a double shot (you can split the coffee into 2 cups) and also takes the smaller Nespresso-type capsules for a single shot – bonus!

NOTE – the unit does not accept Nespresso Vertuo capsules; you must order the exclusive L’OR XXL pods if you want a double shot of coffee but for single shots you have the choice of Nespresso, L’OR, Starbucks and other compatible brands, so pretty versatile

    REVIEW:
The machine is simple to use and the coffee is hot – I always rinse the cups out with hot water first and use hot milk to ensure a hot brew

There is no on/off switch – simply select the applicable ristretto, espresso or lungo button on top of the unit which flashes for 25 seconds and then dispenses hot coffee through 2 spouts for one or 2 cups

The drip trays and used capsule receptacle are easy to remove and clean, as is the water container at the rear of the unit. For taller mugs, remove the main drip tray to reveal a shallower one underneath

I bought the Barista black model in a smooth satin finish (not glossy piano black) to fit with the rest of my kitchen decor – red and white options are also available, depending on the supplier

Register your unit online for a 3 years warranty – the first year is with the vendor and the next 2 are with Daewoo

    THE COFFEE:
The machine is supplied with a selection of 9 x L’OR coffee pods in varying strengths including XXL and the smaller size. They all taste fine to me apart from the Grand Caf Filtre XXL, which is filtered coffee in style and without any crema. I found it rather weak in flavour and watery in texture.

I’ll probably stick to the single-shot Nespresso pods for the moment as I have plenty and I’ve got used to the flavour over several years, but the lower priced equivalents from L’Or are very tempting. I’ve already ordered 50 pods (5 boxes of 10 XXL Forza strength 9) which taste good and are excellent value at around 50p per pod as they will supply 2 cups of coffee

IN CONCLUSION – Everything works as it should. The unit is as quiet in operation as other coffee dispensers I’ve owned over the years and I can’t fault it. The 3 year warranty is reassuring and the L’OR coffee is very acceptable. Overall, a happy customer!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought when it was on offer. This was to replace a more expensive machine that was useless. This one is so much better. Easy to use and also quite quiet. Pleased with the performance and hope it gives years of service. Only thing I don’t like is that you cannot see how many used capsules are in the waste container.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally pleased with this coffee machine. We purchased after our Nespresso machine paced up and wanted one that used the same capsules, this one is so much cheaper to buy, seems well made and works just as well as the Nespresso, if not better!
    Definitely recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI guess all these Nespresso type machines are pretty much the same, but this one stands out as it uses XL pods, meaning you can actually make a reasonable size mug of coffee (or two small ones at the same time if you prefer). Just a shame that no other companies make XL pods as yet. Dead easy to use – no faff – and we also bought a natty little device that means you can recycle the pods. Great machine!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersBought this to replace an Inissia Nespresso machine that was leaking water over the world surface. In general I think it is a better machine, although it is quite a bit bulkier. I don’t see the point of the XXL pods so probably won’t buy any more of them. The standard Nespresso (L’or) pods are fine for me. It is simpler to operate with single press buttons. The water tank is a decent volume, but the lid is fiddly. I preferred the hinged lid on the Nespresso machine. The used pod receptical is a decent size which doesn’t require emptying as often as the Nespresso machine, however removing the receptical is also fiddly. I like the fact ghan the coffee dispenser spouts are much better located than on the Nespresso machine. They stick out further from the machine and you can actually fit a mug under them. In summary, not perfect but all in all an improvement over the Nespresso machine.

I really like the coffee machine and it’s capabilities, i have to say i am disappointed that the drain catcher is really cheap plastic. They went out all out on the machine but failed here
