This tool is amazing. I work in restoration. Don’t have to worry about cutting wires or water lines. Attach a HEPA vacuum to it and no dust whatsoever. I highly recommend this tool.

Set the depth on this tool and it cut exactly where I wanted it saved the inner skin of board on a double skinned wall so we were able to screw off inner leaf and reuse surprised me

This is the best tool for making long cuts in drywall. My only complaint it ( I hope makita is listening ) make it blade change and depth adjustment tool-less. Other than that it’s an awesome tool.

Bought this tool for cutting drywall reluctantly, now I’m not sure how we lived without it. Hands down best Reno drywall tool I’ve owned and way better valued over a Kett Drywall saw. Almost no mess when cutting over head with the built in dust catcher.

This tool is especially great for repairs where there is danger of cutting too deep and striking wires or plumbing that are not adequately spaced in walls or ceilings. Depth setting of the blade itself allows some variance on what can safely be cut through. It is also possible according to the manual, to use 18mm x 5mm snap blade sections (3 sections) as a much cheaper alternative to the very expensive Makita blade that comes with the saw to cut through 1/2″ drywall. I haven’t tried that yet…

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHad to remove a very specific shaped piece of drywall between studs – and was planning to use a jabsaw. In the end I bought this tool in order to make sure the cut was ‘square’ – so the repair could be easier. Seemed a lot of money to spend to do this – so rather bought on impulse.

On arrival, I thought it looked like it was made up of bits of many other ‘Makitas’. A strange looking beast.

However, it is absolutely brilliant. Will make super-precise cuts in drywall [using a straight edge] and there’s virtually no dust. If the blade is set to the right depth – no chance of cutting hidden wires or pipes.

If you are doing any house restoration – and drywall is involved – it’s worth it’s weight in gold.

Machine is really solidly built, cleverly engineered and one of the few Makita tools still made in Japan. Never knew I needed it – but money well spent.

Best tool ever! Cuts like butter! Only suggestion when cutting drywall, ensure the tool is on the opposite side to want to show, will make a better cut! Overall used it over 500 times, and working solid!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent for cutting plasterboard strips, not as fast as cutting with Circular saw but there is almost no dust from it.
Excellent for cutting plywood, it can be used as a jigsaw.
Excellent for cutting holes in the ceiling, almost no dust at all, way better than using multi-tool where you end up covered in dust and you can also control the depth of the cut and avoid cutting any cables.

Overall I’m very happy with this new tool and can highly recommend to dryliners.

Great tool! As a renovation contractor, I’ve needed a tool like this for a long time. Cut my drywall work time down by at least half. Made removing drywall for the electricians super easy. Prime sent it quickly and it works better than I expected.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis actually exceeded my expectations, so I can highly recommend it. Cuts so nice and clean, and is easy to use.

Size of the hose connection is not overly common, and some reviewers on Amazon.com mentioned finding an adapter at Home Depot or Lowes. I did not find one at either of those, but luckily the hose for my Hyde Vac Poll Drywall Sander fits it. The fit is not real tight, but when cutting the ceiling there was no issue for it to stay put.

This is the sander that has the hose. Love the sander as well.

Remember this Makita Drywall Cutter doesn’t come with the battery and charger, so you need another compatible Makita tool with Charger/Battery, or buy them separately. If you don’t have a tool, find a sale to get the battery with a tool that you would use, versus buying separately.

Totally love this drywall cutter, and totally worth the money.

    Dream Tool
