    This is a perfect tripod for any photographer who wants to travel light and compact but still needs a stable and sturdy tripod for most photographic purposes. Easy to adjust with a wide range of movements.

    only complaint is that the two handles to adjust camera angles are right on top of each other and make it clunky to adjust angles without making the camera slightly off-parallel with ground. you can play with it until you get the right balance, but it’s not as seamless as i would hope for.

    I used it for the first time and it’s very easy to set up my smartphone. The padded bag was an added bonus at least to protect the tripod. It’s definitely light weight when the legs are extended, as for stability it’s okay just be mindful not to knock it over, by the way I used it to mount my smartphone.

    Brilliant reversible stand, love the fact you can turn part of it upside down so that you can have your camera low to the ground when/if needed Sturdy & the telescopic legs extend to a decent size

    Loving it, sturdy, good height(about 170cm open), took my neighbour advice and spent 14 extra compared to other cheap options. 45 on May 2022

    5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the money it costs

    My old tripod had part of it break so decided to pay for an actual quality brand and yeah, manfrotto speaks for itself. Sturdy, durable, great range on the length of the legs. Feels really well made and the swivel system and locking of the plate area for any and all angles feels really solid

    Bought this for my son. Previously bought tripods, broke very easily where the legs were attached to the main stem. This one was more expensive but seems to be sturdier, without adding any extra weight.

    So it does say on the box that it is for entry level DSLR (I guess they’re thinking something on the lines of a Rebel T7) and I have to say that it is a bit on the weak side for my 5D. Even so, it’s not bad. Very light and portable. Sliding on a camera once the screw fitting has been added to the base of the camera is v quick and easy. The flexible head is smooth and grip is strong (as long as the total weight is not too much).

    I intended to use the tripod with my canon 5D with either the 100mm macro L or the 24-70mm L when hiking and for these lenses it is generally fine.

    Would definitely not use this tripod if there’s a lot of wind though. Probably the 70-200 L would be too front heavy. In a pinch I put my 645DF with an LS 80mm on it and was able to get stable exposures at 1/25 (indoor). But the tripod was really at its limit. Could barely hold the camera in place.

    All in all – good in a pinch.

    I have used this for indoor food photography. For that purpose it is excellent.

    A sturdy tripod with a wide range of adjustments. There are no instructions with it and I did spend 10 minutes working out how to arrange the two adjustment handles.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis tripod is good. It’s light, backs away small and easy to carry around. If you extend everything, it’ll be over 5 foot, so it’s not a short tripod. You even get a bag to put it in. So it’s great for travelling.

    However, the not so good is that because it’s so light, it’s not really suitable for larger heavy cameras. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets blown over by a strong gust of wind. It would help if there was a hook to hang your bag, to help weigh it down. It also takes a bit longer to set up and pack away due to the many sections that make up the legs.

    The good points outweigh the bad. I use my tripod to mount an action cam or phone, so it’s not a problem. If if need to weigh it down, I’ll bring some rope and a hook.

    Although it does the job well, I find the head to be a little bit fiddly and I have definitely had more sturdiness on a lower budget before. Would be great if the three legs were secured to each other when extended.

    I needed a fairly basic and cheap tripod but didn’t want to go so cheap that I’d end up regretting it and having to buy something better a little later on.

    This tripod is ideal. It folds down to a fairly compact size (45-50cm) and is supplied with a fairly decent carrying pouch. The reason I opted for this tripod was for the adjustable head and the quick release system which both work really well. It only takes a second or two to attach your camera to the tripod and the adjustment of the head is flexible and smooth enough for my purposes.

    The tripod seems stable enough, even though it is lightweight. The legs also have a good range of extension and are easy to extend and collapse. Another reason for selecting this particular model is that it’s centre pole is quickly extendible so if you just need to adjust the height slightly you can extend that instead of adjusting all 3 legs. The centre pole can also be reversed to enable you to mount your camera inverted to get some really low to the ground camera shots.

    Overall, for the money I am really pleased with the build quality and features of this tripod and would recommend it to others.

    Wanted a versatile Tripod to support my Canon 80D .. does this perfectly .. love it and I did get it a a good price on Prime Day .. Just lucky because I was looking at it before hand. .. Fully extended, bottom of legs a bit thin and light. But that does make it a good hight. So compromise if you need the height.

    From the times when a tabletop tripod wont do – to when you just dont want to take a full sized tripod – this is the amswer.
    A pistol grip head and tall eneough even without using the final leg sections: with a payload that is acceptable (it holds my A7iii with the 24-105 provided I place 1 leg under the lens) and all with a very easy to use quick release system. (Caveat: I would not trust it in moderate/strong winds but then again if its that windy I wouldn’t be using any tripod – it nwould have to be handheld or no shot.
    On my days out with it I just hook one leg over my strap where it joins my shoulder bag and I’m good to go.

    Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAs I started to film weddings, I needed to find a high-quality tripod that was a good height. I also wanted something that I could take travelling that didn’t take up too much space or too heavy.

    My favourite feature has to be the easy quick release plate. As you can see in the top of the tripod, it’s just a smile, small plate the size of a penny that attaches to the bottom of your camera. The reason I love this is because it makes it really easy to change batteries without having to remove the plate and also makes it easy to quickly switch to handheld shots.

    Another great part is the hybrid head this tripod comes with. It’s great for getting smooth panning shots, while also easily being switched to a fixed position for landscape or portrait photos.

    The height, size and weight are perfect for me. It’s nice and compact so easy to carry around with the included bag. It’s a very lightweight design that makes it easy to carry other great with. Also, it can be raised to 155cm, with the fact it’s so compact was quite surprising.

    Overall, the tripod has exceeded my expectations and has been very useful so far. The only thing I would like to see added is a way to lock out the legs when spreading the three of them apart. However, I love all the features I talked about and has made my life a lot easier. It is a tripod I would recommend to others.

    Perfect, well built tripod for filming and photography!

    Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPros:
    Didn’t want a heavy tripod so this is good as it’s fairly light as tripods go. Fairly stable except in high winds.
    Comes with its own bag.
    Cons:
    Bag is great but the string (strap) is quite short so it won’t stay on my shoulder and there is no way it would go across body as the string is too short. This is a real shame.
    Beware of losing the little round quick release screw plate! I screwed it into the bottom of my camera thinking it would be safer there than floating around in my bag. Unfortunately somewhere along the line it must have come loose and fallen out so now I cant use the tripod until I source a replacement – the cost of which seems to be roughly half of what I paid for the tripod in the first place – crazy!
    Overall:
    Good for a beginner or someone who doesnt use a tripod very often.

    Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersFor the price of this tripod you really get value for money. It’s very sturdy and extremely reliable. I have used it countless times and it has never fallen over or even moved an inch once. Also the quick release plate that it uses to mount the camera is perfect. I usually leave the plate screwed on to my camera and can the mount and unmount it within seconds – no more wasting time screwing and unscrewing!

    The twist levers for tilt and pan control feel very solid and don’t show any signs of slipping. They stay locked in place and won’t budge unless unscrewed. I did have one issue where I was hiking through a forest and realised when I got to the end that one of the levers had come off ( I had to trek back a good distance to find it, which was difficult as the light was fading) but this could be down to me not screwing them on tightly when folding up the tripod.

    The legs extend to a nice height of around 4.5ft and then the centre pole can also be extended further again if needs be.

    Lastly, it comes in a nice drawstring padded bag that you can transport it safely in if you’re afraid of your tripod getting scuffed or damaged. A nice touch.

    Pros: *Lightweight
    *Portable
    *Sturdy
    *Easy to use and quick mounting plate
    *Has a spirit level

    Cons: *Panning could be better if being used for video although I get that this is not designed for video

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis was a present for my father who uses it with his video cam. It’s smaller and lighter than the tripod he uses for his telescope so good for carrying around and the ball head is smooth for panning. It’s small enough to carry in a large rucksack although I would find it heavy carrying it around for a whole day of walking/photography. I have used it for filming at a wedding and it was ideal. Having said that any lighter and it my not be sturdy enough so it’s a good balance. He hasn’t used it for long so I can’t speak for durability although it feels good quality to me. I like the little button attachment for the camera although the size makes it easy to lose, having said that you can buy replacements easily. If was choosing a replacement for my own tripod I would be very happy with this one; it’s a great all rounder!

    Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersHaving picked this up on sale for 31.99 its very good for that price hence the 4 stars but at the full 65 I would have been really disappointed and would have given it 3 stars at most. The metal legs feel good quality but the clips and head feel pretty poor in comparison, they work well but I don’t see them taking much abuse. The handle had the join in the middle that would have been load better and for the price should has some kind of grip or cover on it. The included bag oddly feel like its from a much more expensive tripod which is both really good and strange at the same time.

    I have had some tripods and mono pods that sit in between the sale price and full price of around 45 – 55 that feel better in some parts than this one, I would only recommend this one at a sale price as for its full price there are much better tripod out there.

    Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNB this review for the Manfrotto Compact Advanced 3-way Head (not Ball or any other variation – Amazon very annoyingly aggregate the reviews of all types) – a lot of the 1-star negative reviews appear to relate to the Ball head type although one clearly relates to the 3-way head but it is equally clear the problem is due to operator’s error… what can one say?

    So, to the point; the 3-way head tripod seems very solid / sturdy / stable. No obvious signs of inherent weakness.

    Would likely not use the central column extended when working outdoors in breezy conditions but seems reasonably stable for still conditions.

    The lock-up of the pan and tilt seem pretty firm – so far I’ve used solely with a 50mm f1.4 lens attached to a Canon DSLR but from the overall solid feel, I would expect it to be OK for use up to the stated maximum focal length lens (200mm) and 3kg load limit.

    Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersManfrotto Compact Action Aluminium Tripod with Hybrid Head – Red

    This Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod gives you the freedom to roam wherever & whenever you like. With its lightweight aluminium frame, it makes a simple alternative to some of the more cumbersome and bulky tripods out there.

    Straight out of the box the tripod is protected in its own black cover/sack with shoulder strap which is a nice touch as it makes it even easier to throw on the back seat, saving space and time if you’re ever in a hurry. The tripod itself feels very nice and well built, It has an adjustable ball head and grip with two modes video & photo which allows you to change from full 360 degrees pan, tilt & shift for video to pan & tilt for photo at the flip of a switch allowing you to accurately compose your shot. The grip itself has its own thumb grip system which you can roll back and forth to grip the ball head allowing you to make slight adjustments that may be needed to grab that perfect snap. The camera is secured to the system via a small round attachment that screws to the bottom of the base unit and in turn fits into a recess in the ball head & trigger to be tightened by a metal clip that is very secure.

    There are 4 leg sections all of which are secured via friction clips, upon full extension there’s no rattling at the joints like some other models out there but they’re not the most stable either. If you are planning on taking long exposure shots with this tripod then look away now as even the slightest of wind movements or vibrations will ruin your image. If long exposures are not your thing and you want your tripod to be quick and easy to set up then I would recommend this product to you all day long
    Overall this is a great budget compact tripod and if used as per manufacturer’s instructions it will not fail to impress.
    Pros
    * Affordable
    * Well Built
    * Secure ball head system
    * Easy to use
    * Easy to store

    Cons

    * Legs are a little flimsy

    Ideal Uses

    * Videography / Filmmaking

    I tried almost every tripod in this price range and lower, and this was hands down the best. It collapses small enough to take out easily, the quick release is simple yet sturdy, build quality is top notch, extends quite alot. Better invest in this one than other cheaper tripods that won’t last you as long. You won’t regret it.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt’s a tripod that helps me to pan more easily than standard tripods. I have a slight disability on my left side and find mounting cameras and trying to pan hard work. This tripod overcomes most of my problems. The only two moans that I have are:
    that there is only one quick release button supplied. As I have more than one camera and binoculars to mount on a tripod, I find that these quick release fitting are very expensive for what they are. I have found that from Manfrotto, they are 13.95 +p&p and from Jessops 9.95 +p&p. Too expensive for me.
    My second moan is, the tripod is smaller and easier to travel with and packs up smaller than standard tripods, but the legs are so thin and seem a bit fragile. Time will tell.

    Golden Review Award: 30 From Our UsersI have been looking for a lightweight tripod for going out and about with for ages. I love manfrotto products so knew I would be ok with them it was just a question of which one to get on a limited budget. It’s very well made , looks good and I love the small round base plate. I also wanted a tripod that I could use in horizontal and vertical positions which this one does with ease also.
    I was a little concerned about its weight bearing capabilities but it holds my canon 7d with 70-200 L series lens nice and tight with no problems. Very impressed so far . Ok in life get winds but I agree with other reviews may not be so good in heavy wind ( I’ve not tried this though)

    Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersNOTE: There are multiple versions which share the same product page; this review is for the ‘Compact Advanced Aluminium Tripod with 3 Way Head’ version.

    **:*.*:**:*.*:**:*.*:**

    I needed a tripod for my recent journeys which unfortunately the one I already had wasn’t suitable due to its close size still being far too big. It took me a couple of days searching back and fourth for which one I wanted to go for before eventually going for this one.

    The size when fully closed up was perfect for me (approximately 44cm) and didn’t feel too heavy when carrying or when attached to my rucksack.

    At first I was a little baffled with one of the levers, but what had requires was me loosening it a bit before sliding it into place then tightening it back up (this is to prevent the lever from poking out when closed down). The quick release plate is decent but not great, at times I had to readjust the angle and it slid from position even though it was securely tightened, but I assure it wasn’t at a point where my camera was going to fall off.

    The legs are easy to extend out and do initially feel unsturdy, but when you click everything in place they become much sturdier.

    You’ll probably find the tripod head isn’t fantastic, but it certainly does the job. There were only a couple of times I couldn’t get it in the angle I wanted it, however this is budget tripod in Manfrotto terms, so I shouldn’t be asking this tripod to be perfect.

    If you want to go for a more reputable brand without splashing out too much money and would like a decent travel tripod, this is the one.

    I bought this tripod for when I am carrying my camera all day as my heavier and more sturdy Giottos tripod was literally a pain in the back. This little tripod is very compact and light. It is really designed for compact system cameras, but it is advertised as supporting up to 1.5kg which is heavier than my D7100 with the walk about lens that I would be using on the type of trip I will use this tripod for. Despite this I have deducted a star because the tripod will not hold the camera in vertical mode as it seems impossible to tighten the screw using the wheel enough. Even when using the camera in horizontal mode I found myself regularly having to re-tighten the screw.

    All in all this will do me for what I bought it for quite well, but certainly could not be used as a total replacement for my larger tripod.

    Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersManfrotto is a leader in the tripod and for its baby of the range it earns its 5 stars. At full height, it stands just over 6ft tall with very sturdy legs. It has at the top a trigger grip which makes it very easy to move around and create good panning shots. Feels incredibly well built and holds my Canon 5D with ease. As its compact it will fit into a normal size backpack with room and it comes with its own padded carry case that it very nice.

    The quick release is a favourite feature of mine it simply screws into the hold in the base of your camera and with one flick it comes off the tripod.

    If you need a tripod for starting off spend your money on this one. It’s worth it.

    Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersUsual Manfrotto quality but its a little flimsier than I thought it would be. A tad overpriced in my opinion but not so much that i’d rather have my money back. The joystick head will take some getting used to with a lock-wheel type thing but again, no real complaints. One bonus is how compact it really is when closed up, so much smaller than my other tripods. Well worth a buy but not so much if you intend to put huge lenses on it. One worthy addition, you might want to buy a hotshoe spirit level as this doesn’t have one at all, you’d think it would for the price but alas, manfrotto went stingy again…

    Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis tripod has been a great addition to my camera equipment. The quick release plate that attaches to your camera is quite small so you need to be careful not to lose it. That said, I have never experienced any problems. I always have the quick release plate attached to my camera and it never comes off. The tripod itself is of good quality. A sturdy build and it’s quite high which will come in handy if you are tall. head can be easily rotated for both portrait and landscape shots using the handle. The handle is easily secured into position. This tripod does not have a spirit level, however that didn’t bother me as I have bought a separate spirit level for my camera that attaches to the hot shoe. Comes with a case and isn’t heavy to carry. All in all i’d fully recommend this item to anyone.
