Shoe sizes are not standardized. Every shoe manufacturer uses different measurements in terms of instep height, toe shape and foot width. However, the basis for your own shoe size is always the length of your feet. Thus, you should always determine your foot length before buying in order to choose the right shoe.

When you know what works you just have to get them again they are expensive but well worth the money, I hunted around for best prices so at under 80 on Amazon I was tempted to buy two pairs you can not fault these. These are my 4th pair over about 10 years and I wear them almost every day. Especially good for walking and cycling but great for general use. I always hang onto older pairs for grubby jobs. Just love them and vibram souls last and last and las

Wanted a slightly wider toe box and was advised that these would suit. Unfortunately they nip at the front and I had to return them, I am 11.5 shoe and ordered a 12. Sturdy made and lovely colour.

My last pair of Moabs lasted 20 years. I will try to take same care with this new pair and see if they last as long too. My old ones have a chisel toe design which was a small problem on long hikes but the new design toe is more rounded. Recommended.

Love these trainers. Brought as a replacement for a pair purchased a few years ago .these were worn every day covering several miles a day. Really comfortable even as they become worn. A great price point too

Had a few pairs of Merrells over the years and found the quality of the build of some of the recent ones a little low. These feel well made, are very comfortable and grippy.

This is my second pair. I bought it because although I’m still loving the first pair they are a little shabby after four years or so, so I’m saving this pair for “nice places”

I must have had half a dozen pairs of these over the years and I keep going back for them, good fit, good comfort, hard wearing, great for walking long distances on paved surfaces or on rough tracks.

Late review, been using these as my main spring/summer hiking trainer for 2 years now, covered thousands of miles, and they are still going strong. The waterproof element is very good, although once a year I would still treat these trainers with a weatherproofing spray.

Even the laces have lasted on these, and not needed replacement, I would highly recommend, and when eventually it comes to replacing these I will be buying exactly the same as a replacement, if they are still available 🙂

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI normally take a size 10 in shoes and boots but was not comfortable with going the recommended 1 size up. I chose the 10.5. The fit is perfect. Enough room to allow a medium thickness hiking sock to be worn. Or with the laces pulled tighter on the loops a thinner sock can be worn. These are the most comfortable, easily adjustable hiking shoes I have ever owned. Over 55 years I have had many shoes and boots for outdoor wear.
The materials used look robust and well put together. Even the diagonal reinforcing has extra cushioning. The Toe protection is good for a reasonably light hiking shoe. The Vibram sole adding to this at both Toe and Heel. The laces seem fine to me but you do need to double bow them.
During my first walk I found the front part of my Foot sliding about in them. I stopped and pulled the laces in tighter on the lower 3 loops and that cured the issue. Normally my feet sweat in trainer type shoes but even wearing wool socks on a warm day my feet stayed comfortable and dry.
Obviously these are not waterproof and I no longer buy waterproof footwear. My feet get much to warm. I now prefer to wear a pair of Merino or Alpaca wool socks and put up with damp non smelly footwear that dries much faster.
Doubt I will by any other make from now on.

I previously had a pair of shoes, size 9. I ordered the new pair of the size 9 but they seem to have come up a little bit smaller so the next time I need to make it half a size bigger. It’s a shame but I live with i

Failed to read the reviews and bought my normal size (81/2) – should have gone half size up! Previous trainers size 9 and found them too big – went for 81/2 this time and too small. Can’t win! Good quality if you can get right size.

Generally a fine walking shoe but not suitable for hiking in wet conditions. And not only because it is not waterproof, but mainly because of the sole. Walking over wet stone, roots, even wet concrete is really dangerous. My simple and cheap Wellington’s master that situation without any problems. Grip on dry tracks is good and it feels save to walk . The shoes are well ventilated.
