No defrauda

Purchased for monitoring 3d prints with Octoprint and Klippe
This is the perfect camera for 3d printers. Good resolution without overly burdening an rpi 3b. The built in light allows for monitoring all times of day and for time lapse captures.
Thank you NexiGo!
The cam is just stunning it has good quality materials and the image looks great. I am a teacher who works home and it is perfect for zoom and teams!
The camera is good but the instructions on installing it are very limited. The light seems to do okay but my only grip is that you have to reach up to the camera to turn it off an on. I would have expected it to be turned on with the software.

I ordered this two days ago and got it today. I literally plugged into my 100000-year-old content creation laptop and it looks amazing. It’s definitely going to help me bust out another 100 youtube videos with my actual face in it!
Don’t be like me and buy a new laptop thinking that would solve the problem. Plugging in a new camera is better.
The bonus is that it has a tripod screw spot so I’m going to hook it up to my tripod while plugged into my laptop and try and record a zoom call!
Better than exepcted
Bought the web came for 80$ and have been very happy with the outcome so far. As a remote worker, I have many video conference calls and my older HP model had always been very dependant on good ambient light. The quality of image on the Nexigo N960E has overcomme that issue. Furthermore if my face is dark, I can activate the circular light around the webcam. It wil ltake getting used to having that bright light in my face, and it is clearly reflected in my glasses. There is a dim feature which is nice.
The privacy shutter is mechanical and unobtrusive, which I appriciate.
The quality is great, the camera is easy to install and use, however, I am not a fan of the placement of the privacy slider and then touch light… My camera moves out of its position every time I need to close/open the privacy slider and then because I’m touching the device, the lights turn on. I wish these were both accessible through and app so that the camera stays in its perfect position.
I bought this because I needed a new video conferencing camera that I didn’t need to turn on every light in my office to use because I work long hours on the computer and with lights on I develop a headache since I spend half my day in meetings. This camera works well with MS teams and quality is decent. I’d recommend adjusting MS teams camera brightness to improve video quality a bit more. My colleagues have said my image is great and clear. The camera microphone isn’t the best as I sound far but it could be location since I have 34″ monitor that sits on a raised platform. So I use headset plus it noise cancels since there is 1 other person in my home that works from home. So I recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality camera.
Great camera for the money. I bought a name brand “best web cam of 2023” and this one was better. It has built in light ring which can be dimmed and a physical shutter, which I prefer for security when not in use. I actually removed the base and installed between my dual monitors so I can look directly into the camera while on video conferences.

Check the Hz setting if you don’t get a good picture at firs
This review is for the NexiGo N960E Pro webcam
The first thing I noticed when unboxing was just how heavy this is compared to ‘standard’ web cams. The webcam itself is quite heavy, but the bracket which attaches to the monitor also seems to have some metal in it as well. My guess is that due to the larger size and weight of the cam, they had to also make the bracket heavier to stop the cam falling of the front of your monitor
Also in the box, you will find a 2m USB-A to USB-C cable, a short microphone adaptor cable and a paper user manual
I haven’t seen a proper attempt at a physical user manual for a while, but we get one here. The print is pretty small though and you may need a magnifying glass to see the detail in some of the screenshot images they included. There is a QR code and web address printed on the front cover and following this link gives you access to an electronic versions of the manual in PDF form which I found easier to work with.
Bizarrely the instructions make no reference at all to the rear side of the camera or explain how the two USB ports found they can be used. The USB-C port is marked with a computer symbol so is self-explanatory, but the second port (Type-A) is marked with a USB drive symbol.
The second port could have a number of uses: Firmware updates via USB drive? Can this be used as security camera with local storage on thumb drive? Can you attach a USB Wi-Fi dongle and go wireless by just providing power via the USB-C port? Only in the Amazon description do we find mention of a pass-through port, so this is likely just labelled with the wrong icon?
The built-in mic is OK, but not great. It performs the same as my old Microsoft LifeCam. It picks up sound well, but has a bit of hiss in the background. If you want a good mic quality in a webcam you are much better off with a separate mic. Your separate mic can be connected via the audio jack or the second USB port.
The camera can be turned and tilted independent of the bracket. So, you can get the bracket securely on your monitor, which for some monitors could result in the bracket ending up at a weird angle. Then you can still tilt the camera and get a good framing on yourself.
If you touch your finger on the top of the web cam it turns on the ring light. It is not immensely powerful, but it is enough to illuminate your face if you are using it in the dark for some reason. Even in a bright(ish) room you can notice a difference with the light on.
The first mode is a cool (blueish) light. Touch it a second time and you get a warm (orangy) light. Touch it a third time and you get a neutral (white) light. Touch it a fourth time and the light turns off.
You can also control the intensity of each lighting mode by holding down your finger on the top of the camera rather than just tapping it. This works even after you have selected a mode. So, if it started in the off setting, you can tap once to activate the cool light and remove your finger. Then later you can hold your finger on the light and it will start to dim. Remove your finger and then hold it a second time and the light will start to brighten. Tap it and it cycles forward to the next mode (in the order as described previously). It remembers the settings for each mode separately, so you could have the cool set to very bright and the warm set to dim. The brightness settings for each mode are remembered whilst the camera still has power, but are lost and default back to their original settings if power is removed.
If you power down your computer, but it still retains power to the USB ports, the settings are still there when you power the system back on later. For example, plugging this into a USB hub on a monitor, that goes to standby and is never truly off, lets the camera retain the lighting settings even if the computer is powered completely off.
This does not contain a wide-angle lens, which is great for me as I want a webcam for skype and MS teams meetings without showing everyone my entire room whist I am tiny in the middle of the shot if I forget to crop it.
I tried this webcam on a couple of Windows 10 systems, just with the default install (not using the optional NexiGo software). On one system I was getting picture flicker, but on the other the picture was fine. It turned out to be the frequency which can be altered in the camera settings even without installing the NexiGo software. Switching to 50Hz got rid of the flicker for me. I noticed some oddities as I was moving the camera back and forth between the two system. At first one system only offered me a maximum option of 720p 16:9 30fps. But in exactly the same settings screen later on it let me choose 1080p 16:9 60fps. Make sure you manually check what settings the camera is setup in, it doesn’t appear to plug and play to its best settings — at least not in some Windows 10 systems. This is more likely an issue with Windows rather than the webcam.
The autofocus seems quite stable. I noticed a slight wobble as it is adjusting to a new distance, but then it stabilises and I haven’t encountered any auto focus bounce which might make you want to switch to manual focus.
The camera performs well in low light conditions. It isn’t on par with a security camera but you can still see some detail even in very dark conditions. It doesn’t descend into an artifact mess in the dark as I have found some other webcams do.
When the camera is active is displays a very dim (amber) activity light above the lens. I prefer this over the often overly bight LEDs attached to most webcams. It also has a manual lens cover which is easy to slide across when not in use.
I would highly recommend this webcam, in fact I have already done so to a friend of mine. I’ve only been using it a short time, but so far it has worked perfectly and I’ve even had comments from people in meetings about how clear my picture is. I’m finding I don’t even need the light as it performs so well in low light, but it’s nice to know it’s there and can be used should I need it.
This is a great web camera with a light included.

Good camera, work out of the box. Use it for Zoom and skype with no issues.

I liked that it was easy to install and use. I like the idea of the circle of light, but in practice it’s too hard on my eyes so I don’t use it. The picture detail is excellent, however, not enough dynamic range, or contrast, so the picture looked a little washed out when compared with others. Hence the 4 star rating.

Plug and play zonder problemen.
Works for what I need to coach people online. Noise canceling doesn't work or would give it 5 star.

This camera provides a clear picture for my online teaching class. The ring light, while offering three different settings, provides the best lighting for my teaching class. I will also be using this camera next year for my preschool parent video conference meetings.

While it boasts 1080p w/60fps, there's still a graininess in the background with both the regular room light and ring light. Additional lighting may be needed for clearer picture. The color is good, zoom doesn't work for some reason? I turned auto focus off to try and play with it, but you can't manually focus it, it's fuzzy regardless if auto isn't on. I bought it used for $60 so it's not horrible for $60 I suppose.

I love this little camera! I had a razer camera before this one and it sucked, you had to jump through hoops to get it to work. This is just what I wanted, one that can be plugged in and just start sharing your video. I love the ring light, the second one is my favorite, adds just enough warmth. The video quality is perfect, never stutters or glitches or anything like that. Great for discord :)

Great camera, microphone not so much.
This camera works great for what I bought it for. It provides a clear picture and has easy to use settings. It is plug and play and was very easy to set up. It shipped on time and made it to me with no issues.
The ONLY downside I see to it, is the microphone is trash. I have recorded myself while using it and played it back and it sounds like a robot that is barely understandable. I can get about 18 inches away from the camera and it will pick up my voice perfectly. But just having the camera mounted on my monitor and sitting in my chair is too far for it. I did not buy this for the microphone though so I have not tried to figure out if it is an issue that can be fixed.
All around I am very happy with it, the shipping, and the price. Great camera!
Perfect for at home
I work from home and do a zoom call about once a week. I was using an old laptop (only thing with a camera that wasn’t my phone) off to the side of my main set-up and it was just annoying.
This works perfectly and the picture quality is so much better than the laptop. Super easy set up – truly “plug & play”. The camera is steady yet able to easily move. I like that I can “close” the camera and see the red panel blocking it. The light options are nice, but I’m not really recording for streaming or anything, so others might be pickier than I am.
Really happy with my purchase.
The camera works great as a camera, but it has a horrendous high pitched whine that starts up each time I use it. Thankfully I have it plugged into a USB bar on my desk with switches on it so I just turn the USB plug off and on after each use, which gets rid of the whine. I thought about returning it for this issue but that’s too much of a hassle as I really needed a camera ASAP for my new job.
The new version has a RED lens cap so it’s easy to tell at a glance if it’s covered.
Its really easy to turn the ring light on by accident when opening or closing the lens cap but just as easy to turn off so not an issue. I have never needed to use the light so far as the camera does really well in low to mid light conditions. In fact, too well….. I had to turn on the smoothing option on my video conferencing app lol
I would not buy thus again due to the whine.
I would prefer this camera to be in a horizontal format vs the big round one. It works fairly well. The camera is clear. A little grainy in low light but this is not a 4K camera. I am happy with the performance but not the profile.

N960E
I have not had it long and really haven't used it much. Having said that it was added it to my Intel NUC, with Win 11 operating system, and it was simple and straight forward to setup and use. It is mounted on my LG OLED TV and has a clear picture. I like the the built-in privacy shutter which is also very easy to use. I didn't give it 5 stars as I want to wait and see how it performs over time.

With my usual remote-work setup, my laptop’s built-in camera isn’t an option, as I use attached monitors instead of the laptop screen. That’s really no loss, as the built-in camera is…let’s go with poor quality to be charitable. But that means I’m in need of a decent webcam and a light, as my workspace does have a window that faces me, the daylight can be obscured by the trees outside, the shadow of my monitor and plain old clouds or darkness.
While I’m not so sure it’s necessarily a good thing for my colleagues that this camera/light combination is good quality, as they’re stuck seeing me relatively clearly, it does provide a professional appearance that’s a step up from the older, lower quality webcam I had been using. With the light built in, it also saves me space atop my monitor, and a USB slot since I need only one.
For some context, my most usual conferencing service is Teams, and I use a separate headset/microphone. With that in mind, I’ve found this camera to be reliable, easy to use and capable of delivering a high-quality video call. I also use a portable green screen behind me most days so that the background feature in Teams works a little better, and this camera is far better than my previous one at making the background look smooth–few weird bits of my room/screen tend to show on the screen, just me and the backdrop.
The 1080p quality is noticeable, and that’s the step up from my older 720 camera. I look…less fuzzy, for lack of a better term. I can still soften the focus with Teams’s filters. I always looked a little harsh on the previous camera, now I look more “real,” without the odd sort of jagged edges. The built in light also helps with that, as it directly surrounds the camera, instead of needing to be mounted next to it, and angled awkwardly, creating an inevitable “Phantom of the Opera” type shadow effect on my face. I also wear glasses, and while I do sometimes see some reflection of the light with this camera and light, it is nowhere near as bad as the annoying circle of light I would see reflected in my lenses before, with a fairly standard ring light setup. The light has three modes (I usually prefer the cool mode) and you can control the brightness by holding the button at the top of the camera (a light tap switches mode, a press and hold changes the brightness).
I’m also a fan of the somewhat narrower field of view on this camera, 78 degrees. While still considered wide, this is, to me, far better for a single user than the 90+ degree cameras out there. Those tended to make me as one person on screen look ridiculously small relative to the background. It also might be better to have a narrower field of view if you want to keep people from having too much of a look around you at home.
Also easy to use is the built-in privacy slider. In lieu of an obvious cover over the lens, you simply slide a lever and a red disc slips over there camera letting you know it’s covered up and should slide it back before trying to go on camera.
All things considered, I’m quite happy with this webcam/light combination. It’s been an improvement to my remote working, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
I was recommended the NexiGo N960E FHD Webcam by a YouTube content creator and I understand why. It has great 1080p resolution and I run mine at 60FPS for a smooth appearance. The ring light has three different light modes, but typically I use the third light mode which is the brightest. The other two offer a softer white light so that you aren’t washed out by harsh light, the warmer light gives an even softer look, but I have noticed that in a very dark room (no ambient lighting other than a monitor) it still produced harsh shadows. Again that all can be adjusted in the software (which you should install).
I was a little shocked that the NexiGo software came on CD, but there is an updated downloadable version on their website. I go this route to get the latest drivers. Now I did run into a hiccup with the software initially. It was a .Net runtime out of boundaries error. Nothing online helped me troubleshoot. So it turned out that Windows 10 was blocking the application (this happens when downloading or installing some applications). To fix that I right clicked on the EXE file (not the desktop shortcut) which is located in the x86 Programs file in the Nexigo folder, and unblocked the file. Applied the changes and clicked OK. From there on it’s worked like a charm.
I never have issues with auto focus like I’ve seen many other cameras on the market deal with. So I don’t have anything to say on that.
Final thoughts.
This isn’t a high end Web cam by any means, but it is a quality cam that does what it should work very well for anyone that video conferences, streams with a face cam, needs one for online learning and so on. I’ve owned several web cams since they were introduced, and the NexiGo N960E has been a home run for me. Highly recommended.
My son uses this for streaming or something, and he likes it a lot. The ring light is really nice and enhances his videos a lot. It’s got several settings so you can adjust the warmth and brightness of the light. The picture quality is definitely better than I expected for the price, and it doesn’t lag.
The only downside is that the mic on it is terrible. The upside of that is that you don’t have to use it! My son disables the mic feature and uses an actual microphone and is perfectly happy with the results. Also, it doesn’t connect super securely to your monitor. My son likes that because he can easily slide it around and adjust it, but it annoys me because I’ll go in there trying to tidy up and catch the cord and the camera goes tumbling to the desktop.
Overall, it’s a four star product, especially for the price. If not for the microphone being bad I would be shocked that a camera of this quality costs so little.
Great add-on option for low light. USB-C adapter included is a nice touch. Works with Linux.
Fantastic
Bought it to use with discord so I can video chat with friends and it works flawlessly. No faffing with settings and it even works with TrackIR software for simulation games like DCS so I can use it to move my head in game without spending 100+ on a separate camera.
Had to buy a camera in a hurry when my built-in one stopped working and I needed it for work. Spent hours looking at reviews and hoped this one would be ok from those. It works literally just by plugging it in to a USB port. No tiresome software nonsense, my video platforms all seemed perfectly happy with it and the image seems fine to me. Just using it for meetings so not expecting Hollywood production values but people can see me, looking like me and I’m happy with that. Light is a useful feature with various brightness options.
Excellent quality picture
This was for an upgrade. Much better and very pleased with the quality of the picture.
Finally a great web cam
Really good web cam out performs more expensive ones. Theres no shuffling of the picture when you move. Built in light can be a bit much and the microphone picks up on the auto focus motor. But overall highly recommended
This camera is great and a well respected price. I do use an external microphone so I haven’t tested the onboard microphone. Picture quality is brilliant, the onboard light is very intense and bright, easily can give you a headache after a while, hence the 4 star rating, it would have a been a great addition to this to have a filter panel for the light so you can put a blue light/ambient light cover over the light ring.
The camera cover is a great addition but every time you close and open it the touch light button activates and the light’s turned on.

Tripod attachment requires modification of thread on camera base
I have 3 tripods and the camera would not attach correctly to any of them. The first thread would engage but then jammed. I believe the socket on the base has a metric thread rather than 1/4-20 UNC which is the standard for tripods. I bought a tap for 1/4-20 UNC on ebay and used it to modify the thread. It now attaches correctly.
Otherwise the camera is fine and does what it says.
