    Reviewing after one year.
This would be the best m4/3 camera on market. Pros: easy to use, compact, retro look and more. Cons: Within an year the dail on thumb got damaged and i think its common with these models and got a replacement unit from amazon near on dec last year. No swivel screen, the flip down screen is not so good and sometimes conflict with the after market grip case. No usb c for input with is a let down. Flash up lever difficult to pull and a stupid location.
My next upgarde would be omd em1. I use a Chinese 50mm f1.2 which is absolutely fantastic with this model.

    Best compact camera for begginers

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe product is reasonably good. If you are a image maker , go for it. The image stabilization is top notch.
The auto focus is quite good for stationary subjects.
However autofocus for moving subjects though is not that great.
However if you are a pixel peeper and require very good low light performance, stay away from it.
At the end of the day it all depends on the price at which you get it. If you get a good deal on it like the one I got, I’ll say go for it.

A big step up from my previous E-PL1 and I’m loving it.
Love the size and the fact that I can use my old lenses.
Super quick to focus and tack sharp.
With one of the f1.8 prime lenses on board, it’s capable of some stunning quality.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDecent update on previous E-M10 models. Sensor has better low light/high ISO performance, autofocus is quick and accurate, and the electronic viewfinder works well and allows you to see changes to you make to settings. Colour is excellent from JPEGs straight out of the camera, and RAW recording if you need/want it, and burst shooting. Good for someone moving up from a smartphone, or if you want something small (it really is tiny) and light that you can take everywhere. Amazing selection of m43 lenses from Olympus/Panasonic and others, from very affordable to top-end. Only complaint really is that there is only in-camera USB charging, if you want a proper charger you have to buy it separately.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI was on the lookout for a small, lightweight micro 4/3 camera to replace my aging lumix gx85 which I used as a backup camera and as a smaller body to take anywhere when I don’t need or want to carry lots of heavy gear around. The choice was between this and the lumix gx9 and when the Oly came up at a really good price I took the plunge and bought my first Olympus body.

For my needs the dumbed down menus are perfect as I used them once to set the camera up how I wanted and will probably never use them again which is great because Olympus’ menu system is not know for being easy to learn and navigate.

The AP setting on the mode dial is also a great idea as it allows me to use some of Olympus’ more advanced features like live composite without having to dive into the menus. I used this for a firework display recently and it made it easy to capture the light trails from the fireworks – see attached photos.

The built in image stabilisation also works well and I’ve been able to take photos in low light without pushing the iso too high.

Image quality is also good and seems to be on par with all the other 20Mp m4/3rds cameras including the more expensive high end models. JPEGs are nice straight out of the camera but I tend to shoot raw which allows me to get the best out of the m43 sensor using dxo photolab 4 (tip: deep prime noise processing in that software can hold on to a lot of details while cleaning noise when you do need to use iso settings of 3200 or greater)

It is a great little camera body with easy to use menus and controls, very good image quality and lots of advanced features. It’s in my camera bag when I travel or go out on a day’s shooting as a backup to my main camera and it goes out with me when I don’t want to lug a lot of gear around if I’m going to an event or a family gathering or what have you. Paired up with a nice bright prime lens it’s great for indoor or low light photography, and with a kit lens or a macro it’s perfect to carry with me when out shooting wildlife where it gets used to shoot everything I can’t do with the main camera.

Great little camera body - simple to use with very good image quality

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat camera. Recommend M. ZUIKO 14-150 lens for everyday and 75-300 for wildlife, both great lenses. Don’t be tempted by the, 12-200 which I returned under warrenty due to sticky zoom operation (other similar reviews). Olympus image share app is great and you can transfer to phone wirelessly on the road even with camera off. Spare battery useful if out all day shooting. Choose genuine Olympus accessories – expensive but do the job (returned 2 lens hoods whch didn’t fit properly before getting genuine.) Hope this is useful.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWhat can I say? Olympus made a seriously impressive camera with brilliant image quality and the legendary stunning Olympus colours. It’s so good I had Mark II and Mark III previously. I absolutely love it!

    Superb camera and image quality

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersDecided to treat myself to a new camera, after a bit of reading up went for the Olympus.

Used to have an OM10 years ago and the style of the OM-D just appealed. Reports praised it and it seemed to more than fulfill what I need for general snaps but also gave me all the creativity I am likely to need or use in the future, perhaps more than enough.

Coupled with the Olympus f4 12-100 Pro lens, I have a system that not many years ago would have been considered semi-pro.

Since also purchased the dedicated flashlight so now have the full kit. Pictures are great and we cannot fault them, excellent kit and I am extremely pleased.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersI bought the Olympus EM10 mark4 as an upgrade to my EM10 mark 2.
    The newer mark4 has a 20mpixel sensor replacing the mark 2’s 16mpixel.
The upgrade gives impressive results, I was not dissapointed.
However the mark4’s menus and options are now simplified; omitting some useful functions. Customisation of controls has been severely minimised and the saving of mysets (favourite camera settings),completely removed. Deletion preferences /instant/yes or no .. are no longer available.
All in all the customisation and other functions were too much to lose so I returned the mark 4 camera and bought the Olympus EM5 mark3; which had all the missing functions plus a 20mpixel sensor, albeit more expensive.
The return experience was faultless and a great asset for future purchases.
