    Great product as usual!
Always have had Panasonic DECT phones since they first came out and never had an issue! sturdy (because they will get dropped) well engineered, easy to hold, decent battery life when out of the cradle, easy read screen and when the batteries stop charging (which they will in time), they are replaceable off the shelf! Great product!

    Stylish and does the job
It’s fairly easy to use and set up was very easy. I like the ‘ do not disturb’ feature to stop calls in unsociable hours and also the ability to categorise callers into groups like ‘trades, family’ etc.
I wish it had a better choice of displays like an analogue clock which the Seiman’s phone it replaced or even a more attractive font. Otherwise happy with the purchase.

The phone system is good but the product checking when packing was not very good. Purchased a new charger for the second phone on e-Bay. The original was incorrect in every way.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMost useful feature: Announces the name of the caller!
Ancient technology now, but wireless phones that work, are loud enough, and can last long enough on battery for a decent conversation are still necessary. The best feature is that if you have the patience to enter phone numbers into the “phonebook” then the phone announces the caller while ringing. Great for deciding whether to hurry to the handset!
The biggest criticism is the power cable of the handset bases, which is stiffer than any cable I’ve ever encountered. Honestly, it’s like a coat hanger. Coupled with the fact that the handset bases are incredibly light and slidey, means the bases spring all over the place when you lift the handset! The wires are far too stiff and springy, and the bases too light.
But the phones are fine, in a Twentieth Century way!

Easy to set up. Call blocking is easier than I expected. Intercom function works well and date and time visibility is a good. Works perfectly at the end of my garden with doors closed. (My old one only worked with them open).

Previously had 3 Panasonic phones. Very happy with them! So when we needed to replace it was great to get a set of 4.
No complaints at all about the product and I recommend it to anyone who wants 4 phones. Also a cheaper price than buying the same anywhere else.

These are by far the best phones I’ve ever purchased. The voice announcement of the caller (if you have caller ID) is brilliant. So easy to setup and use. They even have a baby monitor. Add a number it’s automatically added to the other phones. You won’t regret buying these.

    Good Desig
It is a good looking phone, nice clear screen and the buttons feel nice to touch. My mother who uses this phone and is hard of hearing has said that she can hear what people are saying to her even on the speakerphone.

Volume is loud and clear. In the manual it mentions that if your landline is bad (your line crackles) then it will effect the quality of sound and your ability to hear people.

Phone has a nice little gimmick as it can say the phone number calling you or a person calling you, which is good if you are hard of hearing. But you can turn this option off.

Word of caution when setting up nuisance calls please bear in mind that ‘withheld’ numbers can be your doctors surgery or the hospital and if you set it on to block they wouldn’t be able to contact you so just leave it in the default setting, as you can always block a number after the call.

The manual is easy to follow with it step-by-step guide if you familiarise yourself with the diagram on what all the buttons do, it will make life easier for you.

Works as expected - easy setup
Bought to replace old & poor 4 phone system which lasted under 5 years (Gigaset). Setup was easy and features all worked well. (Complaints re. instruction manual ? No probs, straightforward enough to follow !).
Playback of first recorded voice message wasn’t great for clarity – haven’t yet tried the “improve voice” button. Voice clarity with normal calls no problem. Many other potential sources of interference (video door bell, security cams, wifi router etc) so top performance not expected but very satisfied so far. Price from Hughes Electrical especially attractive !

A most impressive piece of ki
Although I had Panasonic cordless phones for over 10 years which worked perfectly, I needed replacements because after such long use, the buttons started getting wobbly. I was rather concerned to see a few negative reviews for this product, especially with regards to the volume, since my wife and I are rather hard of hearing but nevertheless, I decided to take the plunge and order this product. I was glad I did. A most impressive piece of kit, it was very easy to set up (although to be fair, it was along very similar lines to my previous phones) and the numbers were automatically synced to all of the phones — and the volume (particularly on the ansaphone) was superior to the previous phones.
Just one small point: on the advert, it states that ‘Three unknown batteries are required’ — goodness knows why, because the eight correct batteries accompanied the package.
    Very happy with this item.

    Good handset of its kind
DECT phones are largely legacy nowadays, and there has been no major investment in these phones since the advent of the smart phone. But I like having a landline phone, as it provides a sense of place. This Panasonic handset 4 pack with an answering machine works fine and is well made. It is clunky to set up by the standards of a smart phone, but has voice announcement of calls, call blocking and a handy intercom. The call quality is adequate. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSo much better than BT
Had a Quad BT set for several years and was never completely happy with it. a couple of the screens faded until eventually they became blue and could not be read. During long calls, the speaker would activate itself and deafen the user and could only be corrected by reconnection. Eventually, I decided to make a break from BT and try another manufacturer (this was the third BT set I had bought).

The Panasonic quad was easy to install and set up and once the onerous task of entering stored numbers had been completed, was ready for use. All of the features were available including caller display. The sound was clear in normal and speaker mode and battery seems to be well charged even after a 1 hour plus call. I wish I had changed to Panasonic years ago and I would have saved considerable frustration.

So easy to set-up and use (on Virgin Media phone line)
Bought Nov 2020 to replace aging BT setup. Unpacked and installed within 30 minutes and the it was time to read the manual. Do not skip this step as it makes configuration much easier. I like the way the phonebook is automatically uploaded to all phones. I love the way it pre-announces the caller if they are in the phonebook. The call blocker is great – already have 20 entries. Transferring calls between handsets is easy. The intercom feature is a nice bonus too. Very pleased with this purchase. Only slight negative is that display is quite bright at night even with most of the display switched off.

Grear until you need to make a phone call
Extremely easy to set up. Entering the phonebook on one (any one) of the handsets will update it on them all – an essential with 4 handsets. Only one downside, but it is a big one, the sound level is not good. I have to use the phone with the loudspeaker on and the handset to my ear to make it even satisfactory . It replaced an old (also Panasonic) phone whose batteries were failing but which had far superior sound.

Takes a bit of getting familiar with..
I need to experiment a lot more with this product. When it rings a male voice, which is a bit difficult to understand, tells you who is calling between the phone rings. When the person who is calling is on your list of contacts, the voice gives you the name of the person. If not, then the telephone number is given. As I said, the voice is a bit difficult to understand (for me) so I hope I can change it to something less challenging. Each handset can be given a different ring tone (good) so I hope I can also change the “voice”. The answer phone gives you the number of missed calls and not just blinking LEDs (good). No problems with the contact range to base station (good). All in all, it is good product which I am still adjusting too after a couple of weeks.

    Panasonic Style and savings
Delivered by Amazon in an amazon branded box well protected with paper packaging.

Inside the box there is everything you need , 4 plugs with leads that attach to base units. 1 base unit with built in answer phone , this is the main unit which needs to be plugged into the phone line as well as the electric socket , the three extra units in the quad pack just plug into the mains.

All of the handsets take two aaa rechargeable batteries, these come supplied.

Setting up the phones is simple even I could do it with ease. On the front of the handset there is a menu button so setting ring tones volume and time and date are a matter of knowing the time and date.

The best part of setting up is you only need to do it on one handset, as soon as you have saved the settings and placed it back into the base unit, all of the other phones Sync.

The colour screen on the face of the handsets makes them aesthetically pleasing.

There are 26 predownloaded ringtone to choose from from a traditional ring , to some rather unnerving Christmas songs. Adjusting the volume when in calls is simple too.

There are lots of extra features on this phone like call display and a surprising baby monitor function.. I’m just using it as a normal phone though with the 4 units dotted throughout the house.

I’m really impressed with this Panasonic quad dect set it was also a great price at 129.99, what’s not to like Style and savings from a terrific brand. Very happy to recommend this wonderful product.

It has good sound quality. I like the fact you only have to set the numbers, time, etc into one phone and it will transfer to all other phones. The only thing so far I have had to do on each phone individually, is being able to pick up the phone and answer a call without having to press any buttons. I also like the option of audio caller I.D., it is good, but the pronunciation on more unusual names maybe a little off.

We like Panasonic cordless phones and their many features, especially both the onscreen and vocal announcements of who is calling, the ability to block numbers and the Intercom facility. Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersNice phone with stacks of features, they just need to smarten up the data entry process.
e had an earlier version of this quad phone set, but the features on this have been improved to include nuisance call blocking which my earlier version did not support. I like Panasonic as it works flawlessly in all aspects. Sound quality is excellent and it’s menu system is intuitive and straightforward to use. I’m pleased this set also includes the speaking caller ID facility, which my previous set also included. The only thing Panasonic haven’t seemed to improve on is adding numbers to the phones directory, especially true when you have a large volume of numbers to transfer from your old phone set, it’s a cumbersome process at best. They, by now, should have developed a transfer process from the old phones directory to the new model, luckily it’s only a one-off process. I have mailed them before and suggested that adding an improved number entry system would be a strong inducement for customers to stick with the Panasonic brand, especially like me, if you have a large number to re-enter from the old Panasonic Quad set to the new one. That apart, I would fully recommend these phones.

Once you’ve got them working they’re fine, not as intuitive as the old BT ones that finally hit the dust after 20 years. Men: you have to read the instructions. All the facilities are there, but putting a new caller number in your phone book is not obvious. Also cant find any record of calls made. The phone book is also not easy to navigate. Why cant there be a link to your mobile for loading numbers. Maybe this exists for more money. However does what it says on the tin. Turn off LCD when charging means your bedroom isnt lit up all night! 5 stars was quite generous, but at 85 for 4 phones plus intercom that’s fair.

Just recently installed the KX-TGJ324EB Quad Handset Cordless Home Phone to replace and older Panasonic set. These phones are very good, instalation and set up is easy, the sound quality is fine, volume levels OK and reproduction from the answer machine most acceptable. Sure scrolling through the phone book is a bit slow but not a problem really. I like the direct access to the intercom as we use this regularly and the ability to have callers names announced. The screen is easy to read and the phone is egonomically well thought out and intuitve to use.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersExcellent!
There are a few things I read in reviews that are incorrect so I thought I would put them right.

Some settings are unique to each handset and some are shared amongst the entire system. Shared settings are updated automatically and there is no need to set them in each handset. For example, setting the time and date will update the time and date in all the handsets. Another example is if you add a contact using any handset that information will be shared with all the handsets. Some settings on the other hand are unique to each handset and have to be individually programmed in to each handset. The handset volumes, ring tones and so on. All this just works seamlessly. You can also use any handset to program the settings of the base unit, such as the answerphone. The base unit also has a ringer in it, so that can be set too.

The phones are very adaptable. Just about everything can be set or unset. It’s all laid out very logically in the menu and is mostly very intuitive. The only thing that caught me out is that sometimes the pickup and end-call buttons need to be used while navigating the menus. As soon as you realise that though everything else is easy.

Everything works as it should and the phones really are good. Incidentally there are 40 ring tones to choose from including specials for Christmas! I must confess that I thought they sounded a little dated. Also the wallpapers for the display seemed to be mostly rain a few flowers and more rain.

The sound is a little tinny but very clear. The volume could be a little higher but was enough for me.

There is a rather annoying delay of a few seconds when you access the phonebook. However the phonebook itself is extremely well laid out and informative.

The voice announcement of who is calling really is extremely useful. How many times have you run to the phone thinking it was aunt May when it turned out to be a double glazing salesman? Well now you can take a more leisurely stroll when the caller is unknown.

The nuisance call blocking is simple but highly effective. I block all calls with no number, all that start with 00 ( international calls ) , and if someone calls who I don’t know they get individually blocked, which just takes a few keypresses.

In general comparing this phone to similar level BT phones the Panasonic is more flexible and that makes it also a little more complicated to use. It has more settings albeit uses more keypresses to do the same thing. There is one important difference between the two, though, and that is the way call blocking works. With the BT phone any calling number is always displayed on the display but if it’s blocked it doesn’t ring. So if you look on the handset you can see a blocked number is calling and you can pick up if you decide to. On the Panasonic though the call is NOT displayed on the display. To my mind this is a weakness with the Panasonic because you could accidentally pickup on a blocked number because it’s not on the display.

All in all this is a really impressive set of phones. Expensive, yes, but well worth the money and these days you can usually pick up a bargain if you shop around.

This is the fifth set of various make phones I have had and finally I don’t have my children keep saying ‘take me off loud speaker, you’re breaking up’ or ‘mum, you’re just talking over me’, when I couldn’t hear them. Just a straightforward set of phones that work as I would expect.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese Phones are excellent, even by Panasonic standards
These phones are as good as the reviews indicate.
The battery takes a long time to run flat.
The range covers a large area.
Sound quality and volumes are very good.
Maximum ring volume is very loud.
Speakerphone gives a good volume as required.
Each phone can be named, easier than numbers
when returning handsets to a selected location.
I do not use the incoming voice call system but it works fine if required.
Intercom is easy and covers a large area.
Phone pad has an excellent backlight for use in darkened areas.
Wallpaper is easy to change as required.
Phone Directory is automatically transferred to other registered handsets.
This item is well worth the extra cash.

    Easy call blocking
Really like call blocker. Also pleased that number directory is shared on all sets (previous Panasonic had separate lists on each device).
A bit disappointed in speaker on answer machine – not as clear as phones – but OK.
Overall better than Panasonic system it replaced.

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersDoes Everything I need!
I tried 2 BT models before deciding on another Panasonic. I bought my previous Panasonic Quad several years ago when Call Blocking was still a new feature, I could block 30 numbers individually but not block International calls so needed to update . Apart from that I liked everything else about it. Having returned or given away the last 2 BT models I tried I have gone back to Panasonic. I’ve been using it about 6 weeks now and my phone has never been so quiet, I don’t block Withheld numbers as hospitals, doctors etc usually use withheld numbers, but I let the answer machine pick those up before deciding if I want to answer, bona fide callers will identify themselves. Although this model doesn’t block International calls automatically they can be blocked by blocking all calls beginning with the international code. I would have liked a larger font on the display caller ID but that may just be my problem as I am due to have cataracts removed., But anyway the Caller ID is also identified by a voiceover which means I don’t even have to reach for the phone to know who is calling. Lots of call tones to choose from, easy to use menu for setting up, can even change the screen saver. I have used phones with clearer sound, but also used phones with much worse so it isn’t a problem. My last Panasonic phones had the original batteries after several years, so have given 5 stars assuming these will last as long. I recommend this Panasonic Quad {and I am really a very fussy consumer).

    Nice set of phones
Bought these as a ‘used’ item with condition ‘as new’. Very pleased with them, came in original packaging and all phones were unused. We particularly wanted phones with voice caller id so we could hear who was calling. Early days yet but battery life and sound quality are all good.

Good well designed phone but poor speaker volume
These four phones are well designed and the talking call ID is a useful feature. However, the phones are spoilt by having poor maximum loudspeaker volume that is worse than the earlier model Panasonic phones we have owned.

    Ease of Use
Have only used Panasonic telephones for many years after being disappointed by BT’s offerings. These are a great improvement on our last set and have a larger storage capacity for contacts, have call blocking and are easy to use when inputting contact telephone numbers, finding who called and blocking etc.

    Quads
Bought this set because I needed more phones around the house. I had a Gigaset duo set before which was very easy to get along with although the ringer wasn’t as loud as I would have liked. This Panasonic set was easy to set up and I find, as long as the persons name is in your systems phonebook, it will actually announce who is calling! It’s backlight is quite bright at nighttime. On the whole it ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’ and I have no complaints after the first few weeks of use.

This was so easy to set up. Love the fact that the phonebook updates all handsets – my previous gigaset didn’t. The audible message telling you who’s calling is quirky and works well albeit the computerised voice is a bit irritating. Haven’t used the blocking facility yet but it looks easy enough to use. Can’t find fault with this product.

Easy to use, can use up to 6 handsets to a base unit. Getting two 4 handset set packs means you can place the handsets anywhere, and use the base empty, not including a handset, e.g.: when next to a landline phone. Includes capability to call all other handsets from a handset.

This was a no quibble replacement for an identical quartet with one dead handset. I tried to link a new handset with the previous base set to copy over the phone list but they are uniquely paired. The rest of the installation was straight forward, entering phone list, charging, batteries, naming handsets by their location. The programming keys are not intuitive but I had enough practice to get used to that. There are an incredible number of settings for different parameters but the manual is so small I had problems reading it with the magnifying glass and didn’t bother with almost all of them. I am still looking for a manual on line which is readable

Great set of phones but if you have a very large house you may need a range extender...
I bought this set of Panasonic phones to replace an old set of 5 Panasonic phones which had been excellent. This new set has many really useful features, call blocking, audible caller information etc., and I’m very happy with them. What came as a surprise was the fact that the range was less good than with our previous set of Panasonic phones. We have a big Edwardian house with thick walls and fireplaces and the phone in our study is as far away from the main base unit as it can be and the line frequently dropped mid-call or the reception was so dreadful that you had to go out of that room and move to nearer the base unit. – not ideal. After struggling with this for for several months, I called Panasonic and they recommended a range extender (Panasonic KX-A405 Domestic DECT Repeater Extended) which I bought from Amazon and that has completely sorted the problem. Happy days.

Golden Review Award: 91 From Our UsersGreat features and easy to set up.
After reading a lot of reviews we were wary about purchasing these phones. We needn’t have worried as they were very easy to set up. All that was needed was to scroll through the menu and choose options and select, there wasn’t any need to read any instructions, which was great. The phones are all synced automatically so that when numbers are inputted, they are available on all 4 phones.
Some reviews mentioned the ringtone was not loud enough, but there are so many different ringtones to chose from that we chose the one that was most suitable for us.
There are many options On these handsets that other phones don’t have, e.g. changing the wallpaper (appearance) of the screen. You can even turn off the backlight which is great for the one situated in the bedroom. I would highly recommend these phones as they are excellent value.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersGood all rounder and great value if you get it on a special
I managed to get these on a good deal so although I didn’t really need 4 handsets I got those just to have some spares.
These replaced a much older set of Panasonic phones that I needed to retire and so far they appear to be working well.
I had deliberated between these and the BT 8600 for the nuisance call blocking but thankfully I don’t have a severe problem like many out there and it may tip your choice if you do, however, these do the job well but don’t have the extra features of screening that the BT phones do.

I also wanted the alarm feature of the Panasonics which (on the old sets) allowed up to 3 alarms on each handset. These I believe have 5. Most other phones don’t seem to have more than 1. My preference of course and perhaps not something most might consider when looking for such phones.

I’ve noticed that although the phone quality is clear they are not as loud as my previous phones but they are just about adequate and speaker phone works well.
    Some things to note.

    PROS:

    1) Good looking design.
    2) Colour screen with changeable wallpaper
    3) Answer machine speaker and led indicator + ringer (previous one didn’t have)
    4) Can turn off display when charging – good when you’ve got one in the bedroom
    5) Phone book entries entered in one handset are automatically visible in all other handsets. (This was a tedious manual process on the last phone)
    6) Categorisation of phone numbers. Allows searching by category – useful. Customisable category names
    7) Intercom allows auto answer (set on individual handsets) and conference calls
    8) Phone entries now allow multiple numbers for each person
    9) Allows naming of each handset for easy identification.
    10) Every menu item is accessible in a direct way. Entering a number but it’s a mixed blessing – would you remember 100 different numbers?
    11) Remote control of phone allows you to phone in to get your messages
    12) Nice feature to compliment 11) is that you can give your answer machine a phone number to call when a message is left. Good feature to have for some.

    CONS:
    1) Somewhat lower sound volume
    2) Changeable wallpaper yes but not many choices and no custom option (shame)
    3) Ringtones as always are pretty disgusting. There are a lot to choose from but finding one that doesn’t make you cringe is difficult. When will they allow downloadable ringtones, this is 2017 !!
    4) Checking missed calls identified in your phone book curiously doesn’t show the other numbers you may have recorded when you request details. (strange – it just shows that person and the number that they rang from – seems pointless having ‘details’ option then.)
    5) Missed call list shows a separate entry fo same number – does not allow “Erasing All” – so would be tedious to clear call lists one by one.
    6) CPU is fairly slow when searching or scrolling down phone list. They definitely could have done better here either in choice of processor or better searching algorithms.
    7) There are a couple of menu items that are inaccessible via the normal menu tree. These are accessed by typing in a #number that you will probably never remember. Thankfully there are only about 4 and they are not things you will need on a daily basis.

    Call blocking:

I can’t comment too much on this as I haven’t used it much.
    Currently you have 3 choices

    1) Block a single number (enter it manually or select it from the missed call list)
    2) Block a range of numbers
    3) Block withheld numbers

I assume that 3) will also block international calls. Most people’s problems with this choice is that 1. it doesn’t discriminate between international and withheld and 2. when using this option you might well block valid withheld numbers eg. your doctor’s surgery – mine at least withholds the number.

In conclusion and from my lengthy research there IS no phone that is going to satisfy everyone’s requirement / wish, I don’t think it exists but if you want a phone with lots of features and blocks individual numbers when needed this is it. For nuisance calls it appears the main choices were this and the BT 8600 but frankly I find it hard to buy anything BT but that’s just me.

Thank goodness for long lasting batteries, we can now have longish conversations with distant friends and family without the fear of batteries going flat. Using speakerphone gives ample volume. A great novelty to group callers into categories and use a different ring tone for each group so easy to identify whether to answer in person or let go onto answer machine. The range of the DECT devices is sufficient to cover the whole house so strategically placed handsets enable us to answer without rushing to master phone point. A good investment!

    Good product.
Excellent equipment. Menu is clear and loudness of telephone ring is good and there over 30 ringtones to choose from. The “announce caller” feature is neat – the handset tells you who’s calling (need caller ID subscription from your network provider) so that you don’t have to look at the handset to know. We have a house with very thick walls so we bought the repeater at the same time – well worth it. Back lit buttons are a useful thing as well as well as the intercom between handsets

Very nice upgrade from previous Panasonic dect phones. The auto answer intercom is particularly useful. The sound quality is also very good. I bought these over the latest model because of the inclusion of a belt clip which I actually find really useful (yet it’s not included on the latest Panasonic phones).

I’m knocking one star off because the buttons don’t feel as high quality as my previous Panasonic phones and also the address book is very slow to load. I think this is because it’s syncing with the base unit rather than storing the phone numbers locally on the handset.

Pretty decent in all important respects, but could be better in minor ways.
Only two complaints: the transformers are upsidedown so are awkward in extensions that are already upsidedown (perhaps the adaptor could be made to fit either way up), and the bases slide around too much (could use some rubber feet).
Otherwise, these phones are pretty good, but a bit “old fashioned” in that they have no way of loading contacts from a computer (a Bluetooth connection would be useful).

    Great Amazon purchase.
Huge improvement over previous Panasonic handsets, they have finally caught up with mobile phone technology. Best feature is alternate ring and voice which tells you call from XXXX, great for my 94 year old father. This obviously only works where you have programmed in a name and number. When programming names and numbers into phone, you only programme one phone and rest are automatically updated. You can programme several numbers under one name now, and choose home, work, mobile etc., same as mobiles. Plenty of ring tone choices (30) screen has a colour background which you can change, but not many good choices, we stuck with the screen advertised above, the rest were pretty rubbish. Nuisance call blocking is very good. Overall we are absolutely delighted with our purchase.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA very good set of phones
We have these Panasonic KX-TGJ324EB phones installed in three houses within our family and really like them. Firstly, the sound quality is really clear and steady and you can customise the sound characteristics too. The range is long and there’s no interference even when you move from room to room. Battery life is very good too and the handsets will last for several days off their chargers although, obviously, long calls will run them down more quickly.

Despite being feature rich handsets configuration and changing settings are intuitive. You can customise the screens/ring tones etc. easily and the colour screen is surprisingly much easier to see than the black on orange monochrome versions. Phonebook entries are copied to all handsets. One feature which we didn’t think too much about before purchase but have found very useful is the voice announcement of callers. This facility is particularly useful, if for example, you sit down to a meal and the phone rings, based on the voice announcement such as “Dave Smith calling” you can decide whether to answer or ring back later without getting up to look at the display. The nuisance blocking feature is handy and effective too.

In terms of price, shop around as a couple times this year this pack has been on sale for just under a third less. Even at full price though this is a very good set of phones which should give years of service and have all the features most people need. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 793 From Our UsersIf you are looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST landline phone then you've just found it!!!
“Edit: March 2021: It’s been almost 5 years since I bought these phones and wrote the original review below and I’m delighted to report that I’ve had no issues whatsoever. I hope the review is helpful.” Many thanks.

This review is not sponsored by Panasonic or anyone else. I’m just a very keen user of this product and wanted to share my experiences.
These are my personal views based on my experience of finding the ultimate landline phone to stop spam callers. I’ve tried to be as broad minded as possible. I really hope you find it useful and please remember to click on the Helpful button. Many thanks.

This is the new 2015/16 top of the range product in its class from Panasonic.

It’s a little costly but I felt it was justified as I wanted something that was absolutely state of the art that will last many years.

    – You need to have caller ID in order to make use of the call blocking facility. Speak to your telephone company to activate this service on your line – sometimes this service is free of charge.
    – You don’t need to subscribe, pay or request the call blocking facility on your line as it’s ready to use as soon as you use this set.

    – I particularly like the talking caller ID display feature that speaks the users name this is a very useful function that also provides some light amusement. The ringer will pause intermittently while the phone speaks “Call from David for example”. It repeats the sequence until you pick up the handset or the call is transferred to the answer machine. This particular feature can be turned on or off.
    – I like the colour screen it is very clear. You have the option of having no screen showing when unit is charging useful for the bedroom.
    – There are plenty of ringtones to choose from although they are a little Old-fashioned. I found the traditional ring is more than adequate. – The general phone is fairly easy to set up and user-friendly, nice light and comfortable handset.
    – Phone directory is very easy to set up and access. You input the details just once and it will automatically list the info on every handset. Handy if you have several handsets. Each individual is categorised so you can give priority to VIPS i.e. Family members who will automatically bypass the DO NOT DISTURB facility.
    – Battery audible warning is very loud and will interrupt call to let you know you need to recharge the handset! You have time to finish your call or lift another handset. Useful.
    – You do get a helpful information booklet and also a free phone number in case of difficulty.
    – My only gripe is lack of instructions for setting up the Do Not Disturb feature. The idea is that you program certain favourite numbers for example family members who may wish to bypass the do not disturb facility.

    – Make sure you set ALL the phones to the Do Not Disturb feature at the same time, with the SAME do not disturb times.
    – You can then categorise certain selected numbers who you may want to reach you in an emergency.
    – It’s great now it works perfectly!
    – Anticipating a specific call from a Witheld number (ie hospital, Doctors’ surgery etc) isn’t an issue, simply temporarily turn off DO NOT DISTURB mode from a single handset. When the call is complete, simply reactivate DO NOT DISTURB on that particular handset. I’ve found this highly useful for important calls.

    – You can also add additional IDENTICAL handsets and can have up to a total of six all working from the main base unit. Phone directories will be automatically added to your new handsets once they have been registered to your original base.
(I bought the quad set and recently added on the duo set. Must admit to phoning Panasonic UK who quickly took me through the steps of de-registering the x2 new handsets and re-registering these to the original base. 2nd base is now acting solely as a charger with the answer facility turned off. You only need to plug in the 3 pin plug to the 2nd base as you don’t require the telephone cable).
Remember to copy in the SAME do not disturb times and ringtones on your additional handsets.
Sound quality and operation of handsets are not affected at all by having add ons.
I’m thrilled to bits with the new extended set up!

    – Call Blocker – Easy to use. Tested and works by cutting off blocked number so quickly that they don’t hear a single ring the line simply goes dead. Handset lists in your blocked calls with a symbol to show number was blocked and a time and date stamp.Blocks individual numbers, withheld number and also groups of numbers. For example you can block certain area codes if you find that you get many calls from a certain town or city. Useful. I also use a CPR call blocker (Amazon) for ultimate protection – which I believe is far better than the handset capability alone on the Panasonic blocking ALL international numbers, spoof calls, robo calls etc. (Costs vary depending on CPR model but bass models typically start at 40-50 one unit needed per household which plugs into main bass unit and covers all your extension handsets, quick and easy to attach to main unit and no running costs or fees).

(The Panasonic has limited call blocker capabilities and won’t block unavailable, international, spoof, calls).

I’d give this Panasonic phone 97% + for value for money. I’m delighted!
    ***********************************************************************************

    – Recommended manufacture Improvements needed:

-Do Not Disturb set up instructions

    – Improving Call Blocking facility capability – to pre include International and unavailable, spoof, robo numbers, single digit numbers. Also improvements needed to not only block groups of numbers ie particular area code EXCEPT those who are in your directory who you want to get through who share the same area code. (Currently blocks area codes but will block friends and family who share same area code).

    – Speed dialling of frequently used stored numbers using a single button not responsive

In conclusion this is a top of the range stylish and modern phone and would certainly recommend it for anyone looking for a phone that has everything you’d need for a landline.

********IMPORTANT UPDATE: 3/9/16. ******** Just wanted to brief you with an AMAZING trick that this phone is capable of! Ok so we now all know about call blocker, block the number and the call centres won’t reach you ever again using THAT number. But time and time again they will simply call you using a different number, spoof number, made up code, copycat area code etc to fool you into thinking its local and not some call centre abroad? Are you STILL plagued with calls? Jumping each time the phone rings? Getting disturbed during that important tv programme, football match, film or during mealtimes etc? Well I have found that if you simply put your “Do not disturb mode” on 24/7 then ONLY calls from your directory will get through. Anything else will ring silently and will be put through to answer machine (you won’t hear them speak either until you playback the message at your convenience) so withheld numbers and numbers not in your phones’ directory who are genuine can still leave you a message.
    – I advise that you start do not disturb mode at 0100 and end at 0059 (or any configuration of your choosing that lasts 23 hours and 59 minutes) then you are covered 24/7. As before, you will need to set ALL handsets to DO NOT DISTURB with the same times. Tip is to do x2 handsets simultaneously if you bought the quad or duo pack.
Go to “Do Not Disturb” and “Select Catagory” choose the same catagory that you have already put your friends and family in and this will allow their calls to bypass the Do Not Disturb facility.
    – This is WONDERFUL for people like me who live alone who worry about cold callers. Do this and you will ONLY ever hear the phone ringing to genuine callers in your directory! At LONG LAST I now have total control over my phone and it is real empowerment after all, I pay the phone bill. So it’s a case of heads you win, tails you win!

Golden Review Award: 107 From Our UsersPanasonic KX-TGJ324EB
Our old set of phones were Panasonic and we loved them. However, they were getting rather old and we also started receiving the dreaded nuisance phone calls and decided to choose these Panasonic phones with call blocker to solve the problem. First and foremost the call blocker works a treat. The phone has a lot of options that may overwhelm anyone who does not cope well with technology – things like “do not disturb mode” background wallpapers, screen colour options and 40 ring tones to choose from. However, when the handsets have been set-up to your requirements they work similar to most cordless landline phones. The “do not disturb” mode will allow you to programme an individual handset so it has a time when it will not ring out, for example I programmed our bedroom phone so it will not ring out loud after 11pm. You can programme the handset so it will allow certain numbers to bypass the “do not disturb” mode and allow the handset to ring out, which is handy if you know someone who may need you in an emergency. My favourite feature on these phones is the intercom feature which allows any of the handset to phone each other. The intercom mode is great for phoning from the kitchen phone to the phone in my teenage children’s rooms to tell them dinner is ready rather than me having to shout up the stairs to no avail because they are wearing headphones. To be honest, the intercom mode is most useful for finding a handset that has been misplaced simply by ringing it. Using the intercom mode does not cost you any money as you are using the handset base to transmit the signal and not the landline. You can set up to 5 alarms/reminders on each handset which is handy. You can set the handsets and the base so that it speaks out loud the number of the person that is phoning you but only if you have caller ID. If the number and name of a person that is calling you is already stored on any of the handsets then you also have the option for the phone to speak the name of the person calling. When it speaks out the name of the person calling it does sound a little robotic but it does the job. I ordered the set with 4 handsets but it is possible to add another 2 handsets. Each handset takes 2 AAA rechargeable batteries which come supplied with the handsets. One more thing, to use the call blocker you must have caller ID with your landline provider.

These are great phones and I am really glad I chose them. However, if you only need a call blocker and not a new set of phones you may wish to click on the link below. On this link you will find a call blocker that is extremely easy to use and is designed to work with your existing landline phone. One big red button to press and the call is blocked. Update 19/5/2016. I have had these phones for a while now and I have noticed a couple of problems that I feel I have to point out to any prospective buyers. Firstly, There is absolutely no warning when the handsets batteries are about to run out, our old Panasonic handsets would beep about 10 minutes before the batteries in the handset would finally die. This has resulted in a couple of conversations being cut short because the batteries have died without warning. Secondly, the range of the handsets is great for anywhere inside our house but if I move 10 feet into the garden (which is then 30 feet from the base) I lose the signal. I still really like these phones despite the two faults I’ve just mentioned. However, I have reduced the star rating from 5 to 4 stars.

Update 1/7/16. My brother recently purchased these phones as he too started to receive up to 6 phone calls each day from charities, sales people and P.P.i cold callers. Even after blocking countless numbers the calls kept coming. I resorted to setting his phone to permanent (almost permanent) “do not disturb mode”. First I set the “do not disturb” start time to 12:00am and the finish time at 11:59pm. Then I selected which categories of numbers I wish to get through to ring out – which is all of the categories from 1 – 9. You have to do this for each individual handset and remember to switch the ringer on the base off. This means that people who’s names and numbers are not stored in the handsets will not make the phone ring out, you will however see the phone light up and the number of the person calling you displayed.

The reason my brother was getting so many nuisance calls is because he answered the phone to a “telephone survey” person whom then took all the information he gave them and sold it on to numerous companies. These “surveys” are not gathering harmless information and although they may tell you that you will remain anonymous – you certainly won’t. If they have called you then they obviously have your phone number, once they get your post code, marital status, age range and discover if you are a homeowner or not there is and awful lot of information for companies to work with. Six days after completing a “telephone survey” my brother received countless charity phone calls, P.P.i calls and calls from “equity release” sales people.

Sorry this review has ended up so long.
