Fakes are on sale
I have purchased two 1terabite Microsoft both are fakes and they have been removed from my purchases list,I have them Identical to the BBC programme that made me aware they just keep overwriting. Thirty days have passed so no recall.
Does the job for our needs (Video doorbell)
probally not the best one in terms of transfer speed and size if that’s what youre after – but this 512gb one was the biggest our video doorbell could take and has worked fine for the past approx. 6 months.
Great storage
I purchased this to increase the storage on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 which according to Samsung will only accept Micro SD cards up to a maximum of 1Tb.
As I needed to store my 800 DVD’s which I have converted to Mp4 and occupies around 1.3Tb I decided to bight the bullet and give this 1.5Tb a try. Took twenty odd hours to load them onto this card but in the end when I put the card in my tablet everything worked fine.
So, Just to let others know that if it worked on my device it should work on others.
A good SD card
Does the job, very small, reads files well and doesn’t change them in any way. I use it for my switch and I also used a separate one for my phone and haven’t had any problems with them.
I love Sandisk/Western Digital, and I buy no other brand if I can.
In my experience their stuff always works straight from the box and keeps going for years and years.
I was amazed how cheap storage is these days.
I got this to put a load of dvds on from my laptop so I could take them with me on hols for my tablet or phone without lugging loads of kit with me. The idea of something as big as my thumb nail with all my movies on was very appealing
It was all very straight-forward except for the transfer speed when writing files to the card. Uploading wasn’t an issue, that was quite quick.
This item would be great for storing individual photos or the occasional document, but for what I wanted I should really have gone for a proper external drive. 1TB or even 2TB SSDs are very compact these days and not expensive.
Otherwise, does what it says on the tin!
This little memory card is fab and fits perfectly in my Samsung phone, giving me plenty more storage. It is easy to install and transfer files and I have set up for it to automatically save photos from my camera. My phone accepted it with no issue and it comes with a card reader which I can plug straight into my laptop to transfer files easily. Compatible with my Samsung phone and probably any smart phone with a memory card slot. One of the cheapest options for the size, I wanted a known brand and it is worth the price.
It’s great I use it on my steam deck, downloading games can be quite slow due to the cards rating BUT if you willing to sit through the download this is the one for you.
!!!I’ll provide numbers near the bottom!!!
The drive is 150mb/s it’s super good, can’t ask for much more, iv actually had it reach slightly higher speeds too which is amazing and it works great for my steam deck
as for numbers,
all downloads done on gigabit internet,
Forza horizon 4 download: around 3 hours
GTA 5: 4-5 hours
fnaf into the pit: 20 minutes
beamng: 30 minutes
doom 1 + 2 (the new advanced version): 5 minutes
old school rally: 4-5 minutes
but load times are amazing:
forza 4:
internal storage – 1 minutes
sd card – 1 minutes
gta 5:
internal: 3 minutes
sd card: 3 minutes 30-40 seconds
beamng:
internal: 2 minutes
sd card: 2 minutes
so its actually really good
Works fine, but can be a bit slow when writing.
Works fine. No complaints, however the write speeds can be a bit slow, and in my testing are much lower than the advertised speeds (as per the product description, the advertised speeds cannot be reached with a microSD standards compliant-reader, and only when using a reader with SanDisk’s proprietary technology, and in lab conditions)
My results show that the realistic performance measurements you can expect from this drive, when connected to the internal SD card reader in a MacBook Pro 14″ 2021, are approximately 24.5 mb/s write and 92.2 mb/s read. For reference, the Extreme Pro SD card can get a write speed of 74.2mb/s, with almost the same read speed. In random performance, the cheaper Ultra card seems to be more performant. So, as such, for applications like video games consoles or single board computers, the cheaper Ultra card is likely to give equal or same performance.
Added this to my switch to create more space. It was easy to install and added more versatility too my switch creating more space on my switch with external storage. Appearance was simple but obviously doesn’t define the item. Great value for money as they have come down in price in years. Compatable with my switch and the storage size was adequate for my needs.
Simple and effective
My photos were using up storage on my Samsung Galaxy mobile, so I bought this to keep them accessible in my phone but free up storage. I am not tech savvy, but having looked up how to install and use an SD card, it was easy. I had thought I might need to format the SD card before first use, but my phone recognised it immediately and off I went. I have arranged my photos in albums, I just create the same named album on the SD card, select all photos and move them to the SD card. The album then has a small icon in a corner to show it is on the SD card, but I can see and send photos as usual. It does take some time, so I move a few albums a day. I can now install more useful apps due to the freed up storage space.
Bought to hold 250 gigabytes worth of movies I had on an old SATA SSD drive for my new all singing, all dancing 11.5″ tablet with 120Hz refresh rate (arriving a day after this review) – perfect for media consumption and gaming but with only 256 gigabytes of onboard storage I wouldn’t be able to store apps, games and media without having to resort to external drives and I don’t want to go through that pain again.
On closer inspection the 1 terabyte micro sd card showed up on my PC formatted as exFAT with 953 gigabytes free, looking at the internal 1 terabyte NVME SSD in my PC it actually showed a maximum capacity of 923 gigabytes so the SanDisk actually has more capacity so I’ll chalk that as a win.
Unloading the 250 gigabytes of movies from my old SSD to my PC took around 8 minutes, loading them to the SanDisk micro sd took around 2 hours 30 minutes but that was my entire movie collection, I probably won’t have to do that again anytime soon and if I collect any more titles, they’ll most likely be uploaded 2 or 3 at a time so I’m not really concerned with bulk writing speeds.
Once everything was loaded to the sd card I tried it in my Chromebook and my old smartphone, it worked flawlessly, the read speeds was spot on and it coped well with being chopped and changed between devices.
I wanted to get an authentic and reliable 1 terabyte micro sd – there’s a lot of cheap, fake alternatives out there but you can’t go wrong with a real SanDisk micro sd.
Nice SD card but a little slow on the write
TLDR: Good storage, reliable with decent read speed but slow write speed so not great for frequent high speed write but fine for write once, ready many usage
I purchased this card for my phone so that I could put my music collection on my phone and use it in the car via bluetooth. I gave up on streaming services once songs and even full albums started disappearing from my account (or worse being replaced with dodgy cover versions) on a daily basis due to “licensing.” You can’t rely on streaming services to maintain their catalogues
I’m old-school and have a decent collection of CD’s and Vinyls, with many new releases still available on CD, and have already taken the considerable time to rip my CD’s as lossless Flac files for use at home but I needed some decent storage space to put them on my phone
The card is decent and holds most (not all) of my collection and read times and reliability are good. Write times are slow and it took maybe a day to almost fill the card but in my use case it is write once, read many so thats ok but I’d be wary of using this card for something that requires frequent, high speed writes
The colour and size are spot o
I’ve used a lot of microSD cards and consider myself to be somewhat of an expert. SD cards all seem to be exactly the same dimensions. So thank god I found this one. It too is exactly the same dimensions. It’s also grey and red. I think there’s slightly more grey than red but I’ve tested the write and read speeds and the colour imbalance doesn’t affect the performance at all.
I also like the “click” sound it makes when I insert it into my dashcam. I’m fairly sure it’s actually the dashcam that’s clicking, but it wouldn’t click without the SD card, so I feel it deserves some credit in this situation.
So, yeah, it’s an SD card. It works. At some point it won’t. Nobody will know why. You’ll buy a new one. Probably the same make. So just buy this one. It’s seems about the same as the others except it’s red and grey.
SanDisk SD Card
SanDisk produce some great memory cards. I always use them as they are very fast reading cards. I use this in my MP3 player and have had no problems with card. Great value for money.
very stable, high transfer speeds.
With a macbook air, whose internal memory is less than my iphone, I wanted an easy way to upgrade the memory without completely dismantling it. Luckily, i found a low profile SD adapter which practiacally dissapears into the macbooks SD slot, and comfortably holds a ridiculous size TF card. We went with this pone for transfer speeds, cost to memory ratio, and knowing full well that when these cards get cheaper, we can reuse this in another device and upgrade to a 1tb card. As it is, this is doing perfect as a second hard drive, though we are of course backing everything up.
Well, up until a few days ago, I had no idea that Sandisk made 1.5TB cards.
I bought this a few days back, and it arrived on the same day. I put it straight into my Steamdeck, and it worked no problems. Formatting took a while, but it’s a seriously meaty card, disk space wise.
After formatting, you will end up with a total of 1.3TB useable disk space.
Up until recently, I only had a 256GB NVME in my Steamdeck. If you have a low amount of NVME storage space, a card this size adds some much needed capacity to the Steamdeck.
At the minute, my Steamdeck sits at 4TB storage space. I have one of these cards installed into it’s internal MicroSD Card Reader, a 2TB Western Digital NVME, which I installed about 2 weeks ago, replacing the 256GB one that I used previously, and a 512GB Samsung Evo which is read via an external USB C Hub which I have magnetised to the back of my deck, which is recognised by Steam in gaming mode.
While it is true that the read / write speed for the card is slow, compared to an A2 class card, the storage space that it adds to the deck is immense.
Mortal Kombat 11 took a bit of time to load, but once it had loaded, the performance was the same as if I was using any other MicroSD Card.
What is so nice about having access to all the space however, is the fact that you should never have to keep swapping MicroSD Cards out, particularly if you only have a small selection of games on Steam.
I can probably install all of my Steam games on to my Steamdeck now, without ever having to swap MicroSD cards out to try another game. I can just dump my games on the three drives that I use now, and just leave all of them there, whether they are large AAA games like the Hitman Series, or small indie games like Beat Hazard 3.
I would honestly recommend that Steamdeck owners purchase one of these cards irrespective of whether or not they have a large capacity NVME, such as 1TB or above, or if they have a lower capacity NVME anywhere between 64GB to 512GB.
Think of it this way, your turning a 256GB Steamdeck into almost 2TB, using this card, which is more than enough room for installing a handful of AAA games, and a good amount of smaller indie games. The, your turning a 1TB or 2TB NVME into a full fledged gaming system by adding one of these cards. 2.5 – 3.5TB, even without an external USB C hub, is still more disk space than what some desk top gaming PC’s have.
I will issue a single word of warning. These cards can be terribly flimsy. They do need to be handled with care. Once you install one into your SteamDeck, if you can, leave them there. If you intend to tinker with your SteamDeck, ALWAYS make sure that you remove the MicroSD card first, before taking the back off. Otherwise, your system will spit the MicroSD Card out of the SD Card slot, and it will bend the head of the MicroSD card. I’ve only done that once, on a 1TB card, forgetting to remove it, before taking the back off, and it ruined the card, as well as 100 of hardware.
The ONLY downside is the price.
Honestly, I can’t complain.
Despite what a lot of people say about A1 cards, this one will run any game absolutely fine on your Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Nintendo DS, or any other gaming device you may have.
I have the 512gb version and the capacity and read speed is more than fast enough for the latest and largest AAA titles, and the write speed is very quick also. I was seeing write speeds between 65-75mb per second when transferring my games to it from my NAS over wifi, so I imagine it could even achieve a higher speed with a more direct transfer.
I’ve had it now almost a whole year and it is still running Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Elden Ring and other AAA games very well. If you are a gamer, like me, then unless you can get the A2 “Extreme” version for around the same price (as it is currently 50% off at the time of my review), then I would stick with this A1 “Ultra” version, because you really do not need an A1 card unless you’re transferring large files very frequently throughout the day.
So if you’re maybe a professional and busy photographer, then yes, it might be worth looking at the next one up to save yourself precious transfer minutes. But for most people (including the hardest of hardcore gamers, like myself), this Sandisk A1 Ultra card will be more than enough, and I highly recommend it for both gaming and general storage use. The reliability and durability is also very good and therefore, I’d also be confident using it in a professional capacity.
One small point I’d also like to bring up for anyone with a Steam Deck, like me, is that Steam OS is very finicky, and it will need you to format the card into FAT or FAT32 before you attempt to format it inside the Steam storage panel. After that, it works fine.
Quality Durability
I love the genuine products. I have bought lots of fake ones pay a little extra for better quality durability and the speeds of reading & writing are second to none. So thank you amazon and Scandisk
Product arrived on expected date.
Product arrived on the expected date. Not much more you can say about a memory card. 256 GB should be more than sufficient for work related high quality photos and video.
SD cards
There are two kinds of SD card in the world, those that have failed and those that have not failed yet. So far these fall into the second category. Time will tell if they become the first kind. Just hoping that is not too soon.
1.5TB card works just fine in my Switch… BUT.
Don’t expect to receive the USB card reader in the third picture. You’ll get an SD card adapter and jolly well like it, young feller-me-lad.
I’ve done way better on price for micro-SD cards *cough*Lexar*cough*, but I need the higher capacity. It’ll go in my Switch 2 when that eventually drops.
Works very will in Fire Tablets
I got these for my girls and their Fire tablets, they kept running out of space so in these went and now they are happy again.
They are solit to use and have not had any issues so far.
Happy to report back when they have been in use for some time
Good but…
It’s a good memory card which works well in my Nintendo Switch and is reliable, but I’m a little disappointed at the actual amount of usable memory on the card. It’s supposed to be 1.5 Terabytes of memory, but it only shows up as 1.3 Terabytes which is significantly lower than the advertised size. I understand that usable memory can be slightly smaller than advertised, but a whole 200 Gigabytes is a bit much.
I bought this microSD card from SanDisk and I am very pleased with it. The card has a large capacity of 128GB, which allows me to store a lot of photos, videos, music, and apps on my phone and tablet. The card also has a fast transfer speed of up to 140 MB/s, which means I can move files quickly and easily between devices. The card comes with an SD adapter, which makes it compatible with various devices that have an SD slot.
The card also has an A1 app performance rating, which means it can load apps faster and smoother on my phone and tablet.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a high-quality microSD card with fast performance and large capacity. SanDisk is a trusted and reputable brand that offers quality products at reasonable prices.
Perfect for a GameCube Picoboo
This micro SD card proved to be an excellent choice for my gaming needs. Specifically, I used it for a GameCube Picoboot mod, and it performed flawlessly. The compatibility and reliability of this card were exactly what I needed to ensure smooth operation for the mod. It’s a reliable option for anyone looking to enhance their gaming experience.
Obviously I already own all of the games on disc, so this mod was purely for convenience, and a hobby. That being said, this 64GB SD card holds about 40 games.
Works... sort of
Bought this on 25th November coz I was fed up seeing that annoying low storage icon at the top of my screen. Thought I could move some apps to it and free up space, as I’d tried EVERYTHING else and nothing worked. Managed to move 4 apps to the memory card, the rest couldn’t be moved. At all. (Believe me I tried!) I thought that would’ve helped. Nope. I’m still getting the annoying low storage icon!!
Yes, my phone is a little faster and doesn’t overheat as quickly, but bit disappointed I wasn’t able to move as many apps as I’d have liked.
The Business 😃
Too early to to say on reliability but so far it’s working great High capasity and good transfer and read speeds especially with video and raw camera files. Got mine reduces, think it was 27.99, real bargai
Works for mobile phones
Good price but doesn’t come with the full 512GB but still has over 470GB, On first set up on my android phone it gets automatically formatted for use, so easy to use for not the most tech savvy.
I’ve bought this MicroSD Card for my Nintendo Switch as I was running out of Storage, but using this MicroSD Card has allowed me to install all the games I desire!
I even have one for my PC via an adapter because of how large and portable they are.
If you require any space, then this is the right product for you!
Storage a mus
Plenty of storage on something so small n at a good price too..enough space for many films videos music days out takin family pictures..I be buying another thanks
Good SD Card
The supplied SD card that came with my handheld console may not be the best quality card so I have copied the card to this branded one. Works OK.
I have purchased this brand of card for many of my devices and they all still work well.
Bought these for use in 4 LittleElf security cameras (they install by pointing the camera ball right up and then inserting the SD card in the slot). Had them for a month of two and barely scratching a gig each camera. All the cameras are on maximum sensitivity and take short HD videos about 10-15 seconds a time so plenty of storage for what I’m needing. So overall 256gb spread across 4 cameras is plenty for day to day use.
Of course these cards can be used in other devices (that take SD-Cards) and performance may vary as a result depending on what you intend to use them for.
For the price these are worthwhile cards, I have no issue with them, they are the size advertised and are more than capable of the job I got them for.
Quality storage at a sensible price
SanDisk always deliver. I bought this twin pack as I’m a keen amateur photographer/videographer… one to go in an action camera that is on permanently when I’m out (8+ hours in HD at 60fps) and the other for my mobile phone which I also use for video. Download/upload speeds are more than adequate for my use.
