I’ve tried a few shark hoovers and I love them all but this is brilliant, small, compact, it realllly sucks and the pet tool is perfect for stairs (and hairs obviously). Doesn’t stand up on its own like other sharks but it fits away nicely. Small dust capacity so more emptying but it’s so easy to do.
Easy to use and the hair wrap feature is brilliant. Good suction. Lighter than I thought it would be. Unfortunately this hoover does not stand on its own and constantly falls over. If it wasn’t for this I would have given it 5stars
baby is so much lighter without a battery, has a generous lead length which is brilliant, and the suction is
brilliant. Cleans edges better than my old battery hoover but have not yet found one that gets right up
to the edges without using the narrow spout which i find a bit awkward and fiddly. Would have given 5 stars
otherwise.
We have been so pleased at how this vacuum cleaner picks up my dog’s hair from the floor and rugs. It really works well for us and I highly recommend it. It is much better than the Dyson because it’s a plug in, so unlike the wireless Dyson, it does not run out of battery after vacumming one room.
Back to shopping around for something that actually does what it says on the tin.
Ok…..I can’t believe I’m leaving a review for a vacuum cleaner BUT……this is freaking awesome! I have mobility issues and have struggled for years with upright vacuums, (Dyson, Vax etc) then tried changing to the stick vacuums, which although much lighter and easier for me to use just didn’t seem to do the same job. I had been looking at one of these babies for a while as I really hoped the fact it was mains powered made a difference, but the clincher came in the form of the ability to release a catch on the ‘stick’ part to allow it to easily go under beds/sofas/chairs/tables….even the dogs!
It arrived late yesterday, so after assembling it I waited until this morning to try it out….and it has completely blown me away! The dirt bin-which is admittedly a little on the small side-was full just from a quick pass over one rug in the living room! The suction power is so much better than any of the battery stick vacs I’ve tried which just goes to show how much is lost by going cordless.
We have 2 rescue greyhounds so although they do shed it’s short fur that really digs in to fabrics and rugs. I’ve always resorted to hand brushing the stairs carpet as nothing really got them up, but this is light and manoevereable enough that I can use it and it really gets the stuck in hairs out.
I also love that it folds down for storage, and stands on it’s own! I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard a crash from somewhere in the house only to find it’s the stick vac falling over-even from it’s ‘wall mount’
So…..I might just build a shrine to this God of vacuum cleaners….aaaannd that’s me being committed for having a weird relationship with my household electrical appliances.
This is an amazing machine, I thought my carpets were clean until I used the Shark and then I realised the amount of grit that came out, I would give this machine 100 %
Machine not been used yet, but it was extremely well packed & much lighter than a normal upright machine.
Unfortunately there was nothing in the pack to accommodate the two crevice and upholstery accessories. Disappointing. Will need to try & find something from the company?
Easy to use, empty & change attachments on it.
Quiet compared to last Vax vacuum we had.
Yes, it’s only got a small container so needs emptying regularly, the the lightweight, compact size & different uses far outweighs that.
Great suction power.
We like the fact it’s corded, with a long lead, as no having to charge half way through cleaning. Highly recommend.
i usually buy miele vaccum brand but they are now too expensive, so tried this shark and it doesn’t disappoint my carpets are like new and this vacuum does all the work for u. 5 stars in my opinio
Great because you can fold it in half, especially if short of space.
good cleaner and light weight to use.
Downside is that you cannot stand it upright, have to lean it on the table.
If it was not for this design fault I would have awarded 5 stars.
Was so excited to get this hoover, but it’s far to heavy for me to push,I’m disabled poor mobility.so sadly had to return.4 stars given as to heavy
This is my second Shark. I really like them. I bought my first one because I was finding it difficult to carry my old hoover upstairs especially in a house with 3 floors. I wil say this one is a little heavier than the first one and more effort is needed when using it. Still a great hoover.
Such a good hoover! My partner was sceptical the anti hair wrap wouldn’t work but it does! The suction is fantastic, when it arrived I hoovered our lounge with our old Sebo and then immediately did it again with my new Shark and was amazed at how much more it collected in the dust chamber after I’d used our old hoover!
Great product – bought this as my new cordless one was not doing the job. Was pleasantly surprised at how good this is – the suction is excellent, both as an upright and the hand held. Cleans my house brilliantly and cleaned my car after having dogs in and the results are outstanding.
We have 3 dogs and 2 kids so used regularly.
Main issue is the size of the collection bin is very small. Can fill it in 2 rooms so slows you down. Could do with optional extra for an xl collection bin as it is removable for emptying.
Had to had the head replaced as kept stopping the brush bar. One call to shark and they sent replacement few days later. Excellent customer service.
Contacted customer service at shark and they sent me a trouble shooting tip. Doesn’t work. 6 months on and it’s broken. I have dogs so this is why I got it.
Probably will be OK if you have no dogs no cats no kids that make a mess and you have a show home that you don’t actually live in.
Now I need to buy another hoover. Think I will stick to the Henry’s
Cons: stair accessory is nearly useless as slows down significantly when pressure applied, dirt compartment very small so if you have a medium/large house this isn’t the greatest, about the same weight as our old upright vacuum cleaner, feels very flimsy and cheaply built especially where it folds to allow for storage so sceptical of it’s longevity.
overall a decent Vacuum cleaner for those just starting up in a small home, but could be better for the price being asked.
5 on that there are a couple of improvements that I can suggest, which may not be related to its function but are annoying:
1. Cable is not retractable, huge disappointed as no matter how well you manuaver, it comes in the way since you can control how much should it be in open.
2. Can’t stand on its own, and considering bin size is small, you need it to stand when you’re going to empty the bin.
3. Small bin
Pro:
1. Duo rolling brush cleans carpet and floor well.
2. Handles hair pretty well without getting stuck often.
3. Powerful suction.
4. Well made other than the aforementioned design issues.
