The foundations for Wahl began when Leo J. Wahl invented the first vibrating electromagnetic motor in Sterling, Illinois. This led to the creation of the first vibrating medical massager, which was sold to barbershops, where Leo recognised the need to develop and improve barber tools.

What I liked was the lightweight of the trimmers. What I disliked was the case to store them quite useless.
Excellent seller experience. Very speedy delivery and the item was exactly as described. Has made the perfect present which was enthusiastically received. First class service in every respect!
Very impressed with these clippers quiet and just glide through the hair very happy with my purchase.
The unit is easy to operate: just make sure it is oiled regularly and kept clean (a bottle of oil is included). Although it has been years since I last clipped a horse, it was very straightforward and looks neat. With a bit more practice, I think he could look very smart and he will have cooler skin now that the air can reach his fetlocks.
The trimmer is for small jobs, not for doing a whole horse, but is ideal for doing legs etc.

The clippers removed the whispy hairs really easily and without leaving lines on the actual coat.
Dolly the horse has a really thick mane and I was really surprised at how well they clipped off the mane and they went through it really well. Although I would still use use clippers, not trimmers, to hog her mane on a regular basis and use the trimmers to neaten the edges etc. Clippers are little more heavy duty and built to take the heavy cutting for longer than trimmers. These obviously are trimmers, so it would be unfair to compare them to clippers for doing a job they aren’t built for. As trimmers, they’re great!
In summary, the trimmers are light weight and comfortable to hold. The packaging seems a bit basic compared to other brands and there’s nothing to protect the trimmers in transit, so they would benefit from more protection in the case, but I guess I could put something around them to protect them a bit better. Would have been better if this had been done by the manufacturer though, by providing a more protective case. However, I would definitely use them on a regular basis to keep my horse neat and tidy.

Nice cordless trimmer with smooth quiet action. Comes with an extra battery so one can charge whilst the other is in use. Comes with attachments too.
I found these clipper great to use. Wahl are one of the best on the market. The blades are easy to inter change and can be adjusted for variable cutting lengths. The 2 battery packs means you can have one charging while your using the other. They are quiet but yet powerful. In the box you have “Trimmer, blade guard, 2 battery packs, charging stand, 118ml clipper oil, cleaning brush, instruction booklet all packaged in a hard case.” The clipper oil and cleaning brush are important to keep your clippers in great working condition. Wahl also provide an after care service, from sharpening blades to refurbish you clippers.
Great neat, powerful little trimmer, ideal for doing small areas or fiddly detail in a clip. Very quiet so good for spooky, uneasy types. Good to charge and easy to use.
Wahl are the industry leaders in both normal personal trimmers and also animal trimmer, this Adelar model for Horses is very good, the quality is there to see as the unit is heavy (not too heavy) and very well built, it is super sharp and although we have only used 5 times it is as sharp as the first cut and cleans and lubes very easily. Overall a quality product from Wahl with a strong support team if you ever do get any problems, strongly recommended.

The unit is mainly plastic but it is robust and well put together so should be tough and last a long time. It fits well in the hand as is very easy to manoeuvre around the ponies ears and mouth.
Using.

This is simplicity itself, just slide the switch and off you go. The unit is very quiet and our ponies showed no reaction to it whatsoever which is great. The cutter is accurate and does a great job at trimming whiskers, around the hooves and tidying up the mane areas. It is not designed for full body work but rather as an accurate finishing clipper. The supplied clipping head has five levels of adjustment and can easily be replaced when blunted. It is a high quality steel cutter and should last a long time.
The initial battery gave us a good 30 minutes of trimming so it’s fine. It is much easier to trim them in the field than having to bring them in. The convenience is great.

A versatile unit which frees you from the mains power and trailing cables. Ideal for neatening up your horse or pony for showing. We are very pleased with this unit and even though it costs more than the mains version the extra versatility and portability make it worth the money.
This is a cordless horse trimmer which is really quiet in use and was fantastic to use with my nervous girl. The trimmers come packaged in a box with a power cord, rechargeable batteries, instructions and some lubricant. The trimmers charged full within 70 mins and were ready to go following that,
Trimming was easy and I found they cut easily around the face, legs and ears with minimal fuss and noise.
Packaging was surprising as the products were loose and not compartmentalised, not sure why this is but it didn’t cause me any issues, just surprised that the various bits were not in compartments.
The Adelar trimmer comes supplied in a black plastic carrying case, not compartmentalised as I assume that other products in the range are supplied in the same box. Along with the trimmer you get a free standing charger unit, mains power supply, 2 rechargeable batteries, 4 fluid ounce of lubricant, a cleaning brush and instruction manual.
First job connect up the charger and charge the batteries. Only a single battery at a time can be charged and this takes around the hour mark. When the battery is charged the red LED on the charger base switches from constant red to flashing red showing that you are ready to go.
The battery slides into the base of the trimmer, switching on causes the red LED on the trimmer to flash briefly as it does when you turn it off. At the rear of the blade set shoe is a lever. Sliding this lever allows you to adjust the cutting depth from 0.1 to 3mm in infinite steps.
The trimmer is quiet in use, about the same noise as a salon trimmer, so there is no problem with using it around the horse. It cuts quickly and efficiently and is capable of removing quite long hair growth but you need to ensure that the blades do not get clogged.
The 2 supplied batteries will give you around 2 hours of trimming, quite enough for a single animal but if you have a few to clip one battery on charge while the other is in use is the order of the day.
I can’t really fault this product, being battery operated takes away the danger of using mains connected equipment and it really does mean you can trim your horse in any location. It might have been nice to be able to connect the charger to the 12 volt socket in a vehicle but if you need this facility small 12 volt inverters are readily available.
