Bought as replacement to aging HDDs. Read/write speeds are impressive. Overall satisfied. Another consideration for getting this HDD was because there was a price drop at time of purchase.
WD Black 4TB Hard drive
Brilliant, fast, silent and came in proper box with screws and proper documentation. I use this as a game drive and so far has worked great. No lagging or long loading times. Have the 1 TB and is just as good. I prefer to Pay that bit extra for performance and piece of mind. Less hassle sending faulty drives back to Amazon.

WD Black 8TB
Have several smaller WD black drives I use in video and graphics work. They’ve all been fast and reliable. This 8TB model is no exception.
This is a great drive, don’t blame it for your own mistakes. My youngest, tech savvy son wasn’t aware enough to install the drive competently, I went for the dudes understand tech better thinking, when they clearly don’t.
Now, i have installed this new drive well, it’s big and heavy, make sure it’s properly secure in the driver bay. Don’t allow weight on the data teeth, or you will be sorry.

faster than seagate
When playing games like mass effect remastered, or diablo II remaster this loads super fast and has no intermittent lag when gaming. I have a great gpu, cpu, psu, 32 gig of ram ect. So the only reason my game was lagging every so often was poor hard drive performance. This fixed that.
Bought 30th May 2022. It came from the Amazon warehouse. A fair bit cheaper than normal (73 2TB).
Warehouse description were small marks on HDD and packaging damaged. I couldn’t see any marks on the HDD. Package was a little scruffy, But not sent in an Amazon box, just a Western Digital box.
Very little use on the drive, Probably 16hrs of use.. 8 “Power on count”.
Quite fast when there was no data on it.. 212 MB/s read , 181MB/s write. Half full it was around 180MB/s Read/Write. Using CrystalDiskMark to test.
Windows takes 1tb for errors
Very happy so far noise is only bad when at 100% usage just remember you only get 9tb of useful storage 1tb is used for errors ect for windows 10
The best non SSD drive
Easy to install with a little help from disk manager and your good to go. Plenty of storage for games and load times are pretty good just don’t expect SSD performance. Plus you get a 5 year warranty.

Before buying the 8TB WD Black, I read quite a few reviews about how fast but noisy it was. Glad to report that mine is fast, working smoothly and not at all noisy.

I already have a 1tb WD Black Drive that I’ve had in use for almost 30k hours and it’s a decent HDD, bought the 2TB version to add more storage, drive arrived well packaged and was the retail box version. First thing I did upon receiving the HDD was check for any errors using Crystaldiskinfo and there was none. I mainly am using this HDD to run my games & programs on, the HDD runs warm & is a bit noisy but I should be able to quiet it down & cool it down by arranging things inside my PC, I have 4 HDD’s & 1 SSD inside it so a couple of my HDD’s currently run on the warm side. anyway I can’t give much more of a review on reliability when I ain’t had this HDD in use for 40k to 50k+ hours

Ich habe die Festplatte auf meinem 2. PC formatiert.
Trotzdem wurde die Festplatte beim booten im Rechner zwar im BIOS angezeigt….ich mute sie nochmal formatieren, ehe ich sie mit Win10 installieren konnte.
Alles andere lief problemlos….sie ist relativ leise….und luft mit Win10 ohne zu meckern.

I really cant fault this excellent drive which although twice the price of Western Digital’s regular Blue drive is well worth the extra cost. I do believe the higher price is well justified. Drive is very quiet and has completely revived an old Dell Precision desktop PC. Five year warranty included, what’s not to like.
If you can afford it this is the one to go for.
Die HDD luft wirklich schnell und ist im Betrieb, auer beim Defragmentieren etc., auch nicht sehr laut. Zwar lauter als meine bisherigen HDDs, aber nicht strend. Einzig das regelmige Klackern der Festplatte hat auch diese Black nach wie vor. Mal schauen, ob das nach Umbau in ein anderes PC-Gehuse etwas weniger auffllig rberkommt.
So bin ich im Groen und Ganzen zufrieden und habe endlich etwas mehr Spielraum bei den Datengren.
Nachtrag 22.03.2021:
Ich habe festgestellt, dass die Gerusche tatschlich auch von der Art des Einbaus abhngen. In meinem alten PC waren die zwar entkoppelt, aber ber die vier seitlichen Schrauben. Stndige Zugriffsgerusche und ewiges Rumrdeln zu hren.
Jetzt mit meinen neuen Define 7 habe ich die dazu gehrigen Entkopplungen genutzt und die werden in die unten befindlichen Punkte der HDD geschraubt. Zudem habe ich da alles sechs Mglichkeiten genutzt. Und man glaubt es oder nicht. Ich hre von den Festplatten nichts mehr, rein gar nichts. Weder im normalen Betrieb die Zugriffe noch das Rattern bei umfangreichen Schreibvorgngen. Ich habe in meinem Gehuse mittlerweile drei Stck davon verbaut, 2x6TB und 1x8TB, und man hrt definitiv nichts.
Das ist geil.
WD_BLACK 1 TB Leistung 3,5″ Interne Festplatte von sehr hoher Qualitt. Ich bin zufrieden mit der Geschwindigkeit der Arbeit, auch in Spielen. Die Qualitt ist von ihrer besten Seite. Ich kann nur empfehlen zu kaufen.
4 Jahre Erfahrung
Habe die FP bisher hauptschlich fr Spiele benutzt. Die Spiele liefen einwandfrei da drauf.
Nun nutze ich diese FP zusammen mit der WD Blue als Raid1 zur Datensicherung (Win10: Spiegelung).

The speed of this drive is noticeably faster than the WD Blue it replaced. It is however noisier too. The noise is not a major issue but there is a very deep buzz and clunk from time to time. Overall a good drive and the noise is only noticeable when the room is quiet (no gaming or music).

An extremely good drive. Only issue I have with it personally is the noise level though during gaming this shouldn’t really much of an issue. If it is, a WD blue would probably be suited.

Je l’ai command en Kit, pour avoir une meilleur protection durant le transport. Il fonctionne parfaitement pour l’instant. C’est bien un WD6003FZBX de 2018 avec 256 Mo de cache ( 262 144 Ko) comme annonc sur le site constructeur.

Wurden wirklich gut verpackt geliefert, wirklich TOP. Ich habe schon vieles gesehen, bei HDD Lieferungen. Lautstrke fr mich nicht wichtig, da sie in einem anderem Raum verbaut sind. Die laufen, laufen,laufen. Mal sehen ob ich das in einem Jahr auch noch schreinben kann… 😉

I got the Retail Packaged option because: 1. Warranty is as it should be. 2. You know it’ll be very well protected in transit. My past experience with “Component” packaged drives has been stressful; with warranty issues and drives arriving riddled with bad sectors.
My new computer came with an SSD but I’ve replaced it with this because I need something fast that I can rely on – there are a myriad of things you can do to revive a Hard Disk, not a lot you can do when an SSD fails. The Western Digital Black is almost as quick booting as an SSD and there are lots of data recovery options for your important data. Bad sectors are very rare with WD drives in my experience, I’ve lost count of the number of Seagate drives I’ve had to return because of faults. A WD Black I bought 10 years ago is running bad-sector free. Doubt if any SSD will outlive it’s guarantee by a factor of 2. 5 year warranty!
Excellent in RAID 0
Bought two of these to have as a striped RAID array (to further improve disk performance). This disk is a vast improvement over the Blue series disks, and overall quite impressive for a mechanical disk. I also find them very quiet, even in a notoriously loud case.
Worth i
Although there is quite a bit of noise, I found that i wasnt paying much attention to it and so didn’t hear it most of the time.
In terms of speed it is very fast and a worthwhile upgrade from my wd blue.
I personally found this item extremely useful and just overall a great purchase. I hope this helps in your choice to buy the item.

Tout d’abord, une chose noter, c’est qu’il est relativement bruyant lorsqu’on utilise (chose normale parce qu’il est avant tout form pour de la performance et non de l’conomie d’nergie ou du silence).
Trs rapide, pas autant qu’un SSD bien entendu mais suffisamment performant pour dplacer rapidement des films ou autre.

Nein berhaupt nicht. es fllt gar nicht auf

so far very pleased with drive. took 1 star off because of the useless acronis software bundled with device. It managed to screw up my extended partion on the fist clone so ended doing everything from scratch again a second time. Ended up using 10 year old software bundled with my last drive. Oh and that was also made by acronis!
I am very happy with this drive, bought to replace a previous WD Black drive of the same size, which developed ‘too many bad sectors’. That drive, made in July 2013 and had been in constant use since it was fitted in August 2013. The price I paid for this one was about the same as the drive bought in 2013. Although the operating system would not run it was possible to read the drive to get files I needed from it. (Make sure you regularly backup important files to another place.)
This 2nd drive, just installed, should give many years of daily use. I have tried other makes of drives but now will only use these WD Black for my main machine.

Bentige ich fr meine Videobearbeitung. Habe fr den Videoclub noch zwei weitere gekauft.
Aber warum noch extra schreiben fr was es bentigt wird.
Wenn die Sterne abgegeben werden, msste doch die Bewertung ausreichend sein.
Um auf meiner System-SSD Platz zu schaffen musste eine neue Platte her. Als Einsatzbereich waren Spieleinstallationen und Virtuelle Maschinen angedacht. Als treuer Western-Digital-Kunde fiel die Wahl ohne lange nachzudenken auf eine WD Black mit 2TB. Ausgepackt, angeschlossen, Dateien kopiert und sofort ist mir das in den brigen Rezensionen laute Betriebsgerusch bei Lese- und Schreibvorgngen aufgefallen. Silent-fetischisten ist von diesem Kauf daher absolut abzuraten. Das Thema soll aber nicht weiter ausgeweitet werden, 1 Stern Abzug. Als Platte mit Ad-hoc-Zugriffen (=kein Betriebssystem drauf) kann ich mit dem Betriebsgerusch leben. Um auch die guten Seiten anzusprechen, sei die Performance zu erwhnen. Wie von WD beworben ist die Platte sehr performant und sorgt fr schnelle Ladezeiten bei Spielen und macht ein zgiges Arbeiten in VMs mglich. Oben drauf gibt es selbstbewusste 5 Jahre Herstellergarantie von Western Digital. Wie kundenfreundlich mit Garantieansprchen umgegangen wird, kann man natrlich mit einer nagelneuen Platte nicht beurteilen. Als Foto gibt es noch ein paar Benchmarks.
A very solid drive.
Highly recommended if you are looking for a mechanical drive. I have 2 in my machine and I have had no problems with them. They are pretty quick and very quiet. I can’t speak for reliability as they are only a few months old, however, I have always used Western Digital drives in the past and have never had a drive failure.

Leise und starke Platte
Ich habe diese Festplatten gekauft, um auf ihr Spiele zu installieren und Programme etc. zu installieren, die nicht auf die SSD sollen. Natrlich auch fr Daten. Sie gefllt mir sehr gut. Sie ist sehr leise und strt somit nicht. Ich besitze auch noch andere Festplatten daheim und kann sagen, dass mir diese bisher am besten gefllt. Beim schreiben hrt man sie nur leicht, wenn man direkt vor ihr ist und den Motor hrt man nur, wenn man sehr nah dran ist. Ich habe diese Festplatte seit einigen Tagen und bin sehr zufrieden. Fr Grafikdesigner, Gamer und Videoproduzenten finde ich diese Festplatte sehr gelungen. Ich bin mal gespannt, wie sie auf Dauer luft. Wenn die Festplatte irgendwann mal Probleme machen sollte, dann melde ich mich wieder
Klare Kaufempfehlung fr Personen, die neben der SSD auch eine gute HDD haben wollen, auf der auch flssig Spiele gespielt werden knnen und Kreative Dinge gemacht werden knnen! 🙂
Sehr gute HDD
Ist eine sehr gute Platte aber:
habe 2 stunden gebraucht bis win 10 sie erkannt hat. Nur mit externen Partitionsmanager war es mir mglich die Platte zu partitionieren, dabei hngte sich aber das Programm auf, es gelang mir nur eine einzelne Partition zu erstellen und nicht zwei.
Weiter kam beim Windows Start immer eine komische meldung die mit der Festplatte zusammenhngt, kein Fehler oder so sondern win 10 versuchte irgendetwas von der Platte zu laden, war ganz komisch und der sysstart dauerte dadruch auch etwas lnger.
Da ich beide Probleme nicht wirklich beheben konnte ging die Festplatte wieder zurck obwohl es doch sehr schmerzt da die Schreib und Lesezeiten ziemlich gut waren.
Ach ja ein negativer Punkt war:
Habe ein Dark Base 900 Gehuse mit SilentWing 3 Lfter, dass Problem dabei: Die Festplatte ist im Idle doch sehr deutlich zu hren, wenn dann etwas geschrieben oder gelesen wird, wirds natrlich noch lauter. Das mit den Festplatten ist so ein Ding fr sich, aber ein meinem Fall in ein Silent Gehuse gehrt die Platte auf gar keinen fall rein und das obwohl die Festplattenschchte auch entkoppelt waren etc.
Eingebaut, funkt, alles Bestens
Mein iMac hatte eine sehr defragmentierte Platte nach 7 Jahren, deshalb haben wir ihn mit der WD aufgemotzt.
Ging nach Internet Anleitungen und viel Sorgfalt bestens. Luft super. Was man dem iMac noch alles entlocken kann wird mit einem Systemupdate auf Capitan sich zeigen. Jedenfalls ein etwas schnelleres Les/Schreibgefhl bei mehr Platz, wir sind zufrieden.
This was purchased as I read many reviews and YouTube videos before buying and it was to replace a HDD I had which was a really bad experience with a Seagate 1TB drive which failed and I lost all of my data and years of work (yeah I know I should have had a more recent backup).
Anyway, Seagate offered to rescue the data for around 400 with no guarantee of recovery.
This drive is very quick for a mechanical drive and has been reliable so far with no speed loss either.
Based on other reviews I expect this to last the distance.
If I had any advice, buy premium versions of manufacturers HDD’s as the cheaper version are less reliable and have worse warranties.
I will report back on this in a year or so to see if any speed loss or damage has occurred such as bad sectors, etc.
WD Black 3 ou 6 GB/seconde?

Je met 4 toiles ce dd WD car aprs information system de Windows 7 64 bits (efp) ,il semblerai qu’il ai un taux de transfert de 3Gb/s et non 6.
Pourtant Intel annonce 6 Gb/s sur la boite et leur logiciel Intel Rapide Start Technologie affiche 3Gb/s comme Windows d’o ma question dans l’introduction.
Je possde 2 dd Westen Digital et 1 ssd Plextor et pour Windows et le logiciel Intel seul le Velociraptor 500 de WD et le M5 Pro Xtreme de Plextor ont un taux de transfert de 6Gb/s.
Ma config est une MSI Z77A-GD65 pilot par un Intel I5-3570K et tous les priphriques sont jour et je cherche toujours une rponse auprs d’Intel.
Ce n’est pas un gros problme en soit car je ne l’utilise pas en disque system, seulement en disque de sauvegarde et de stockage.
Pour moi WD est une trs bonne marque, mon ancien ordinateur fonctionne toujours avec ses 2 Caviar Blue en 3Gb/s et il a + de dix ans.
Sans informations dtailles sur le problme; l’heure actuelle je lui met cette note parce que c’est Western Digital et hormis ses performances il fonctionne.
Aujourd’hui c’est le ssd qui a pris le pas:plus rapide, plus performant bien que plus fragile et surtout bien moins endurant et oui la mmoire a un cot!
Je sais ce qu’il en est, j’ai les 2 et le M5 Pro qui arrive sur ses 5 ans commence a donn des signes de faiblesse et des erreurs contre le Velociraptor.
Pour le WD Black 1 tera je ne peu me prononc, je viens de l’acheter et je fais confiance la marque.

bought this as a back up drive for my ssd , i have always used western digital hard drives since my first one about 10 years ago and never had one fail yet. fast and reliable
Diese Festplatte ist zwar teurer als die Green / Blue / Red, aber dafr auch deutlich schneller. Habe diese als zweite Festplatte eingebaut, damit nur noch das Betriebssystem und wichtige Sekundr-Programme ber die SSD laufen.
Diese Platte ldt fr eine HDD wirklich flott und ist auch angenehm leise. Das manche hier Probleme mit der Lautstrke haben, kann ich nicht besttigen. Natrlich kommt sie bei keiner SSD mit, wie auch. Daher sollte man pfel nicht Birnen vergleichen. Fr die Leistung, Gre und Technik selbst, ist diese Platte eine gute Wahl fr Unentschlossene, die auf der Suche nach einer Zweiplatte sind, die vernnftige Leistung bringt.
Schreib- und Lesegeschwindigkeit sind top fr das Geld.
To start with I ordered the “WD Black 1TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive – 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch” Retail boxed kit, I picked retail boxed as this meant the hard drive came packed in the original packaging, at the time it also worked out 3 cheaper.
This hard drive came well packaged by Amazon and the original consumer boxing was good as well. Did not take long to arrive, other than the hard drive there really isn’t much else that comes with it so don’t expect any installation instructions (although very easy to, or very easy to find instructions online). Hard drive runs smoothly and due to a few other reviews suggesting it would be somewhat noisy I was very satisfied to find out that it is actually rather quiet. Runs programs smoothly and has certainly improved my boot up/loading times. Very happy and the warranty is very good as well.

his is the 2nd one of these hard drives I have bought. I use the first one in my gaming pc. This one is used just for keeping pics, music and video.
Speedwise its faster than a normal desktop hard drive but not as fast as a ssd drive. Noise…I cant really hear it but then I have an old thick steel antec case and the hdd sits on rubber gromets so its hard to make out any noise from it at all.

Unsere Festplatte im PC kndigte den Abgang an und ich suchte eine neue, die mglichst keinen rger macht. Erstmals (weiblich, 68 Jahre) einen Einbau versucht und gleich gelungen – funktioniert wie geschmiert!

Parfaitement emball dans sa bote d’origine. Le mode d’emploi vous indique de vous rediriger via internet vers un lien qui est est prim. Donc pas de panique aller sur le site de western digital sous support ou assistance et choisissez votre modle pour le mode d’installation. Je l’ai installe dans un botier hot swap dans une tour tournant sur Win 10 pro. Attention aprs avoir install le disque dans le botier et connect votre ordinateur,sous Win 10, clique droit sur la touche home ( en bas gauche ) aller dans GESTION DISQUE (DISK MANAGER)pour faire reconnatre le disque. L’explication est donne sur le site de western digital avec la procdure suivre. Il me sert principalement pour y installer des fichiers mdia volumineux accd en rseau. J’tais bluff de la rapidit d’accs et d’criture. En plus trs silencieux.

Einzige Sache, die mich etwas strt ist, dass diese Festplatte etwas laut ist, man hrt stndig dieses “kratzen”.
J’ai pris la version bote pour un emballage suprieur aux version “bulk”. L’emballage reste quand mme lger pour ce type de matriel. Le disque est rigoureusement neuf. Il est un peu bruyant. Pour le reste, on verra dans le temps ….
HD silenzioso fresco e veloce.
Ottimo HD l’ho montato su I MAC 27″ molto pi silenzioso e veloce dell’originale, la zona dove posizionato scalda anche meno rispetto a prima nonostante non abbia il controllo termico ha bordo quindi la ventola gira sempre al minimo.
Sono molto soddisfatto e consiglio a tutti quelli che hanno problemi come il mio di utilizzare questa soluzione e non andare in assisstenza per la sostituzione originale che costa anche pi di 300,00 uri.
Che dire, grazie a questo hard disk ho rivitalizzato un iMac fine 2006, sostituendolo a quello di serie da 250GB!!! Il Mac tornato brillante e reattivo, abbreviando di molto sia l’avvio che lo spegnimento!!! Tra l’altro anche garantito 5 anni… Nella confezione sono presenti le viti per il montaggio che a me non sono servite, ed un libretto delle specifiche ed istruzioni.
A dessein , je n’ai pas prix la version “bulk”, mais une version complte. Les critiques formules par les acheteurs tant rcurrentes sur le dfaut d’emballage de cette version. L ,pas de souci, en dpit d’un colis dchir, le disque dans son propre carton n’a pas souffert! Quant au WD , c’est un excellent produit!
Hard Disk che soddisfa le esigenze professionali.
Dispositivo montato nel mio iMac (fine anno 2008) ed ho notato dei miglioramenti evidenti di performance nell’avvio del sistema operativo e caricamento delle applicazioni. La rumorosit e vibrazioni sono contenute. Prodotto arrivato puntualissimo con il sistema di spedizione impeccabile di Amazon.
Ich war erst etwas pessimistisch wegen der nicht so prockelnden Bewertungen(Lautstrke usw.)wurde aber eines besseren belehrt.Die Festplatte kam gut verpackt bei mir an.
Wurde gleich verbaut und luft seitdem sehr geruscharm in meinem Rechner unter Windows 10 pro.
Die Geschwindigkeit ist fr eine HDD sehr gut.
Alles entspricht der Produktbeschreibung.
Fazit:Tolles Produkt, Preis/Leistung ist sehr gut!

hdd molto veloce ma sopratutto silenzioso, un p caro confronto ad altri modelli, ma vale tutti i soldi in pi che si spendono…

Dopo 7 mesi di utilizzo confermo quanto detto sopra.. come hdd principale uso un ssd, il WD Blach lo uso come secondo hdd x installare i Giochi, velocissimo e ottimo x lo scopo, lo consiglio x i giocatori, se invece lo dovete usare solo come archivio va benissimo il WD Blu o il WD Green.

Die Festplatte luft schnell und ich kann absolut nicht drber meckern.
Natrlich sind SSD’s noch ein ganzes Stck schneller aber um ein performantes gesamtsystem zu haben ist diese festplatte schon fast pflicht.
