Very simple to set up in the SmartLife app, comes with a battery, self-tests each week and reports back for peace of mind. Exactly the thing for my small workshop just in case something goes into meltdown when I’m not around.

This is a smoke alarm on steroids – basically a smoke alarm for the modern era.

The item is very small and was super easy to fit – 2 screws into the ceiling, raw plug and away you go. Took all of 2 minutes and needs little to no DIY – If you are not confident or for example renting it is tiny and light enough that it should have no problems being held up with command strips or similar

Using the smart life app, the device connected to my mesh Wi-Fi no problem – I am not sure if others found problems, but I had zero issues. It’s now been smooth sailing since – the app occasionally gives me a notification to say shelf check in complete.

I can see this alarm being useful for anyone with mobility issues, as you can turn it off via the app.

Works well, easy to use should last years – So far so good!

Easy to set up but Limited functionality in the app basically you can silence it when activated but no alarm test facility which seems an obvious function to have allowed via the app , that said the detector does a self check diagnostic once a week and reports back the results in the Smartlife app as does any activation.
Not sure about battery longevity as yet time will tell.

The smoke alarm includes a short base attached to the ceiling by a pair of screws and the main unit is secured in position by pressing it against its base and twisting.
A replaceable CR123A lithium battery provides power.
The unit’s photoelectric sensor ensures a fast response to smoke via an 85db alarm and a notification that is pushed to the associated smartphone.
A button located on the side of the smoke alarm activates a self-test and sends a message to my smartphone confirming a working wi-fi connection.
When smoke is detected, the app you use on your phone can be used to silence the audio alarm temporarily.
It was reasonably easy to set up the smoke alarm to communicate via wi-fi.
It also proved to be a simple task to mount the smoke detector to my ceiling.
Since this device has been integrated into my wi-fi system, smoke alarms are automatically sent to my phone.
I especially appreciate the ability to silence an alarm using the application.
This option saves me the trouble of climbing up onto a chair and pushing the detector’s reset button.
Overall, affordable smoke alarm with an life saver app.

I got this to put in my home office as its the only part of the house not covered by our normal smoke alarms

It arrived in the branded box shown when removing your meet with a nice compact smoke alarm, in the box is everything you need for the alarm including mounting screws. I choose to mount using a 3M sticky pad as i was installing in the Conservatory aka the mancave and i have plastic frame

Once installed in place app set up was very simple and to be honest was done in a few mins. Once connected to wifi the app will communicate with you while your away from home informing you if smoke has been detected as well as sound a very loud alarm inside the home.

Now there is only negative is no Alexa or smart home ability in todays modern times integration is something important for example it could alarm and activate the lights in my house so we can find our way out etc.

Other than that happy with the produc

This is a good value, smart smoke alarm that is good value for money, although I can’t get it to connect to any app to use the smart side of things even after carefully following the instructions. I would avoid if you want to use it on your phone, not worth the hassle.

This is a neat little unit that is easy to mount anywhere. As it comes with a ,omg life battery there’s no wiring to do. The downloadable app is easy to use and worked well with my phone. I tested it and the alarm was responsive and very loud! In addition an alert was sent to my phone (which worked as expected). You can link up a few in the home on the same app system. One if th advantages of having notifications and functionality via the app is that you can silence the alarm from it (rather than having to climb up a adder etc and do this manually like you have to do with traditional smoke alarms).

Basically easy to use, good value and an additional levels of peace of mind compared to the traditional smoke detector I feel.

Gives me great piece of mind knowing that I can check it and know if there’s smoke in the house when I’m away. People complain about hard pairing and connection, just read the instructions and it’s clear multiple times on the ad photos you need 2.4ghz Wi-Fi. Set it up quickly, tested it with burning paper and within seconds it went off and my phone pinged with the alert. No monthly subscription and jt just works. What’s not to like

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up and just works. Simple

This is a really easy to set smoke alarm.
It takes about 2 minutes to get it connected to the Smart Life app and works well.
I really like that the smoke detector is connected to the WiFi as you get notifications on your phone and on your smart watch if that’s set.
Sometimes you can’t really hear the smoke alarms when you sleep and you are far away from the room with smoke.
Having a notification on the phone gives you time to check the alarm before it is to late.
It is great to have this smart smoke alarm when you are on holiday as you can always ask someone to check your house when you get notification for smoke.
The other thing that I like is the option to mute the alarm from the phone.
Sometimes smoke alarms are getting installed on high ceilings, which means you need a chair or a ladder to actually mute the alarm.
If you need to mute an old smoke alarm at night while you are cooking and you have to find ladder to do it – all the neighbours will hear the alarm.
All of them will come and check if you are okay when there is nothing to worry about, but just too much smoke in the oven.
With this smoke detector you just press mute on the phone and all done.
The price of this smoke alarm at the moment is 19.99 for a single unit and 56.09 for a set of 3.
I think both prices are fair for what you get and it all depends on how many of them you need.

Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.

Easy to set and no need of ladder to mute i

I am very impressed with this smoke alarm which connects to your phone via Wi-Fi and provides updates and potential risks via the instillation of an accompanying app. The alarm comes with a pre-installed battery, is of a compact size and is well made with a robust plastic case. Once installed, simply press the test button, to get a very loud beep along with a notification on the app when the button is pressed or if the smoke alarm actually goes off. The alarm can also be muted in the app it goes off accidently due to burning toast etc. Overall, this is a great quality smoke alarm and I would certainly recommend it!

  23. AdelaidaPeek says:

Getting started with this alarm is very simple. You just remove the piece of plastic that disconnects the battery, screw the base plate onto the ceiling then twist the alarm into the base.

Once it is ready to install, you can install the Tuya app and it was fairly simple to connect. The alarm feels very high quality and when you press the test button, you get a very loud beeping which can be heard all around the house. You also get a notification on the app when the button is pressed or if the smoke alarm actually goes off.
Also in the app, you can mute the alarm if it goes off due to something such as burning which is not an issue.

I have had mine installed for a couple weeks and so far the battery level in the app is still shown as high so I think it will last a long time. In the back is a replaceable battery however I do not recognise the type of battery.

If you are looking for a smart smoke alarm, this is quite a good choice for 23.99 (at time of writing).

So the description states this is a:-
Wi-Fi smoke alarm, AGEISLINK smoke alarms for home, wireless smart fire smoke alarm. Replaceable lithium battery & silence button, auto self-check function, S-WF240 ~ Wi-Fi Linked, 1 pack.

As this was our first wifi linked smoke detector I have to look up what a photoelectric smoke alarm was.

“Photoelectric smoke alarms are still very uncommon for people. A Photoelectric smoke alarm is smarter and quicker to detect smoldering fires than Ionization smoke alarms. In the sensing chamber of a Photoelectric smoke alarm, there is a light-emitting diode and a light-sensitive sensor. The straight line of the LED light beam gets scattered by even a little presence of suspended smoke particles. Then these scattered lights are detected by the photosensor and the alarm begins to sound.”

*** You simply have to download the “TuyaSmart app’, you get real-time alerts about potential problems and alarm status—a smart and easy way to stay in control and improve your home’s protection.

    *** Works off a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network
*** Does NOT support the 5 GHz network

I still have the linked smoke alarms working within the house but this one’s just giving us a extra security. But also because we will get real time notifications if anything is wrong and the alarm is triggered.
But also you can silence the alarm if it is triggered by accident from your phone. No more running around the house looking for something to press the button with lol.

All you need to do is then to attach the supplied bracket to the ceiling.

I’m living in hope that it does do what it says on the box as I don’t want to have a fire to test them out properly.

    So far so good
But I will update this review if needed.

Easy set up as I already have the app for smart plugs and a few other LED lights, safe to know if there is a fire I will be first to be notified by the phone app, as well as battery low or WiFi down etc.

The unit is tiny and only 2 screws needed to mount the base plate then twisted on, can be mounted by using strong gel double sided tape if can’t screw in etc

It has the usual test button for regular testing, alarm is loud as per usual fire detecto

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a compact and modern smoke detector that is inter-connectable with many other AGEISLINK alarms (including their combination and carbon monoxide detectors). I would recommend you check the compatibility before buying, as most can be paired but not all of them are Wi-Fi connected. Thankfully the product information pages on AGEISLINKS makes it clear.

This is the first SMART alarm that I’ve owned, as it sends me notifications to my mobile through the downloadable (free) app. Everything from installing and pairing the alarms, to downloading and using the app was easy. I liked that you can silence false alarms from the app and you don’t have to climb up to push that silent button.

The alarms are not compatible with 5Ghz networks (only 2.4Ghz), but that’s pretty common and for the moment, shouldn’t be a massive issue for most users. According to a popular search engine, most of the county is still on 2.4Ghz broadband.

It works, blends in thanks to the minimalist design, comes with a replaceable battery, and gives you peace of mind for a good price. Well worth considering buying several at this price and having them all connected. Remember they do different smoke/heat/CO alarms for different hazard areas.

This smoke alarm is very easy to use and I like that it can link to my phone and it’s wifi enabled. It was easy to set up and install and it all works really well. I think the features on it are very good and the alarm is nice and loud. It’s a good size, strong and sturdy and I like that it’ll last for years and years into the future whilst giving me peace of mind that my home and family are safe. The app works well on my iPhone 13 pro max and is easy to navigate. I’ve not had any issues with it at all so the value for money I feel is very good and I do recommend it.

  28. RebeccaLDN says:

This is tiny and yet quite loud.
Adding to the Smart Life, you can have all sort of automations once triggered- ie: all lights on.
The battery life would be around a year, as the constant wifi connection. ( It is still a standalone smoke detector even without the wifi – you just loss the control over the app, which you need to physically reach for the button )
However, the app is now your remote and notifier, you can control even you are out and about.
In terms of burnt toast / false alarm, no more bloom/mop stick or newpaper.
Price is good at 20 each, but a pack of 3 at just over 17 each would be better as you can linked them to have the maximum notifications around the house.

I’m really happy with this. I like how easy it is to monitor its status on the Smart Life app. It was easy to install with the provided hardware. Configuration and pairing was a simple process. Linking it to my Sky WiFi and my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra phone was quick and easy.
The smoke detector itself seems a high standard. It looks sleek and its very loud. I love that you can swap out the batteries. It’s quite low profile and discrete on the ceiling which is ideal for aesthetics.
Ive tested it and it is reliable and I’m confident it will work in a real situation. I like the WiFi aspect of it as it is reassuring when I’m away from the house.

This is a good way to test a single alarm before buying a set of 3. We haven’t got around to getting linked smoke alarms yet but really should get around to it soon. My partner and I both have our own flats; it just so happens that his is upstairs from mine, and we share a fibre internet connection so plan to link our smoke alarms when we get round to it. Getting this one to try it has made me realise how far technology has advanced sine we last bought smoke detectors, this one is so much better. It is a nice, neat size and the long-life lithium battery means there is no need to wire it in. The app was easy to set up and the alarm was quick and easy to pair with it. The ability to stop the alarm sounding via the app is brilliant, nothing worse than trying to silence a smoke alarm with a broom with a neurotic collie running round in circles barking. Love the notification function, we have solid fuel heating, so it is great to have that extra safety. You can add more and link them all together. We thought linked alarms would be more expensive than this.
If you have a BT smart hub 2 you will need to disable the 5g channel just while you are setting up.

Wow, loud. Easy to set up.

This is a small alarm that can be linked to your home WiFi network.
This enables you to monitor the battery strength and also gives you the option to silence it via an app.
You can set it up to alert you if it detects smoke, it’s one of those notifications that you never want to receive.
I’m not altogether sure that this works if it’s not connected to WiFi though, which is potentially a major downside as you never know when you’re going to lose connection.
More expensive than none WiFi alarms so you need to consider whether you will make use of the extra features.

Is a small little gadget and easy to install. The detector has a removable not rechargeable battery at the back.

When given the test with the vape smoke the detector immediately reacted and a notification came alarm on the device started to ring very loud.

Once I pressed the,,check,, button and muted the alarm the device alarm stopped but was flashing red. once reset the alarm went on the green on the app as well as on the device.

At the time of review, the price was 23.99 which makes the device good value for money and to be safe.

This smoke detector is very small and doesn’t take up much space as all and doesn’t look too bulky. It looks discreet which is exactly what I was after. I already have a smoke detector from this brand but it isn’t WIFI compatible so I was looking forward to seeing how this works.
For me, it was super quick and easy to set up. I like that you can connect this to WIFI and monitor via the app, this can come in so handy if you’re out and about or on holiday. You never know when you need to. I think it’s also very reasonably priced and great value for money.

A compact, attractive wifi smoke detector. Easy enough to setup on Smartlife (just make sure you have a 2.4GHz wifi).

Test button lights up to show status of alarm when needed and can be used to silence the alarm if you don’t want to / can’t use the app to silence the alarm.

Installation was easy using the provided wall plugs and screws to secure the backing plate to the ceiling and then twist the alarm into place.

This is a nicely built, quality feeling product, which you definitely need it being considering the use it’s for.

The main reason I got this is because of its smart wifi capabilities as I intend using it for my mum’s house so that I can be alerted if there is a problem

Set up was pretty standard through the Smartlife app, it showed up and I set up the routines

  37. Chris Thorman says:

The detector itself is the usual high aegis quality. Loud beep, solid construction, it’s all good on that front. I’ve had the opportunity to connect via Wi-Fi and it was a bit fiddly, but it did eventually register.

Reading the manual though, it made me wonder what I’d have done if it hadn’t worked. Suggested remedies include moving the router – that’s not possible for me or most people – and renaming the system. Again, doing that would mean that I had to completely reset every other piece of equipment I own which relies on an internet connection. I think in the end I’d prefer not to connect up the one item which was causing the issue.
