    We have been very impressed, the camera has multiple settings so you can control the sensitivity of the alarm function with either movement or sound to select for humans only. The camera at 5mp takes amazing photos and videos. I would definitely recommend this item.

    I originally bought one of these cameras for my Narrowboat. It was a bit of gamble , but it as it turned out the camera was superb. The app allows you to share with other family members,so they can not only see you,but communicate with you through the camera also. I had an issue with one of the cameras that became 40 after a particularly heavy bout of rain. I contacted customer services who immediately replaced it. I’ve since gone on to buy two more which I use on magnets to navigate the locks using my iPad.
    Would highly recommend. ( the battery lasts ages.)

    I keep waiting for this item to go wrong but it’s great.
    I thought for the money it would break or be rubbish but it just keeps impressing.
    Easy to set up and install. Will require a mini S.D card I have used a 128gb.
    No need for the cloud function as it records to the sd card and stores your data to the app for 24 hours.
    You can record images to your phone too within that time and it will also be on the sad card for as long as memory requires.
    Tracking feature is great. When alerted it follows the subject as far as it can.
    Other features include triggering an alarm if you see something and want to give a warning to the intruder.
    Auto detection siren/ light or both when triggered. All adjustable within the app.
    Look at the item several times on Amazon and you will get offered a discount even better.

    Product arrived and didn’t work correctly. Customer service has been excellent. Replacement sent promptly and now installed and working as promised. Easy to get the app up and running and will be purchasing more to cover the rest of the house.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersUpdate:

    ANRAN Customer Service sent out new Camera that works fine so far:

    Bought 2 of these, one intermittently records to SD card, and after a month the night vision stopped working, reset does not rectify problems, and when powered up the camera should spin around and set itself pointing forwards but doesn’t, first camera started showing faults within a week but ground to a halt after a month. No response from company support. Second camera has yet to be installed. Hopefully the faulty one was a one off.

    Great camera with a quirk. When in auto tracking mode at night sometimes swings all the way round and records the wall. Minor annoyance, other than that a brilliant camera.

    It all seems to work very well, It is a well made product, and seems to be very robust. I have not had it long enough to make any useful comments except to say that it was very well packaged, arrived very quickly, and has clear instructions on installation. It also has a security sticker that you can place nearby the installation, that warns people that they are being filmed.

    I love this little camera. I havent fitted yet due to all the rain but have tested in the home. Easily connects to the phone after downloading the app. Being able to control the camera from the app whilst viewing great clear footage is a bonus. ALso love how you can speak through the app to the camera… basdically telly intruders the pilice are en route, etc. This will be getting installed hopefully next week as now we have snow due. When I ordered this was 54, not its 43 so a massive bonus as yiou are getting a lot of camera for this cheap price.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis camera arrived well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box wrapped in shrink wrap plastic. The camera is held inside with a custom moulding, so it is well protected in transit.

    The box contains:

    * The camera itself.
    * A 12V 2A UK 3 pin power supply (with 120cm cable).
    * A 1m power extension cable.
    * Mounting plate.
    * Screws and wall plugs for mounting.
    * A drilling template for screw hole positioning.
    * A ’24 Hour Surveillance’ sticker.
    * Instruction manual.

    The cable from the power supply to the barrel plug is about 120cm (a 1m extension is also supplied). The power cord from the camera to its barrel socket is 30cm and this short length makes outdoor installation awkward. The plug is a snug fit in the socket but is no way weatherproof. This means that the power connector plug from the camera would have to be placed in a weatherproof junction box or run through a hole in the wall to reach indoors. The plug is about 10mm in diameter so would require a hole of at least that size to pass through.

    The camera uses the ‘Cloudedge’ app which is available for both Android and IOS. Before you use the app you have to register with an e-mail address and password.

    Setup is straightforward. You enter the details of your wireless network (SSID and password) in the app and it generates a QR code that you hold in front of the camera lens. That’s about it. It’s worth doing this before you actually install the camera as it would be much more difficult up a ladder!

    Daytime picture quality is on a par with other cameras in this price range and is better than most (being 5MP). Night time image quality is also good (see pictures but please note that there is additional IR floodlighting in the night time image).

    The Cloudedge app is a bit clunky compared to other camera apps I’ve used but it does have some advanced features (human motion tracking, floodlight control etc.). You can define the motion detection areas in the image that trigger recording. There are only options to record 1, 2 or 3 minutes when triggered and sensitivity can be set to low, medium or high. You get 7 days cloud storage for free but then you have to pay for this facility. Instead, I’m using the option to record to a local SD card (not supplied) which is inserted under a sealed cover on the bottom of the camera. Of course, if somebody made off with the camera these recordings would be lost. The camera can be set to send alerts to your phone when motion is detected but there is some lag. There is also the option for 24 hour recording and the camera will overwrite the oldest recordings when the SD card is full.

    PTZ camera control through the app is smooth and responds well. There is a digital zoom facility (by pinching the image) in the live view but, obviously, you lose resolution and image quality when you zoom in. Motion tracking also works well (see video) and only seems to track people and vehicles (and not the cats, foxes, hedgehogs etc. that frequent our garden at night).

    ONVIF and RTSP stream are available with this camera, so it can be added to an existing security camera system. The ‘ONVIF’ password can be switched on and set in the app but there is there is no information given in the instructions on how to get the RTSP stream from the camera. I wanted to add this camera to an existing NVR but there are no instructions on how to do this either supplied with the camera or on the Anran website. I’m a computer techie and have a lot of experience with these sorts of cameras and I managed to work it out but it is a shortfall that the manufacturer doesn’t supply clear instructions on this.

    Firstly, I had to find the camera’s IP address by looking in the app’s ONVIF section. There is no facility in the app to set the IP address manually (only obtained by DHCP) so I had to set my router to always issue the same IP address to this device by DHCP. Not all routers have this facility.

    I then had to find the correct URL syntax to get the RTSP stream. This took a bit of experimentation but I eventually found it. To save anyone else all of this trouble the RTSP URL of the camera to view in VLC etc. is:

    rtsp:// admin:PASSWORD@***.***.***.***:8554/Streaming/Channels/101

    (Where ‘PASSWORD’ is the password set in the ONVIF section of the app and ***.***.***.*** is the local IP address of the camera.

    On the whole this is good camera and superior to a couple of other similar PTZ dome cameras I have in the same price range. It’s just a shame that there aren’t instructions on how to get the RTSP stream to add it to an existing system. As this camera is ONVIF compatible you should be able to set a static IP address in the app and full instructions on how to get the RTSP stream should be provided and because of this I’m knocking off a star.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Good for the Price and ONVIF/RTSP Compatible (with a bit of work)

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis CCTV camera gives superb image quality with good audio and was easy to set up on my cellphone…so what are the caveats ?
    Well firstly it’s advertised as a PTZ camera and it does in fact pan & tilt, however it does not zoom. The Anran app you place on your phone doesn’t allow you to zoom closer and as the lens is fixed anyway it’s a little misleading. You can of course enlarge the image you are viewing on your phone by moving your fingers on the screen but it cannot be done via the app. The next thing to be aware of is this is not an ip camera, so it can’t connect to the internet and allow you to view what’s going on when you are away from home. Being fair it doesn’t claim to be either but it’s something a would be purchaser should take into account if they want that option. Unfortunately I had to return mine and will purchase a CCTV that does it all, of course it won’t be at this price which for what it does is very good value.

    This is a lot of camera for the money – very good functionality for a low price I think. The unit seems to have good build quality and is easy to fit, set up and use. The image quality is good in daytime and low light. Being able to check randomly to make sure everything is ok gives me a lot of peace of mind, and if anything triggers the motion detection, I can check then and see what’s going on – again, all good peace of mind.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis Anran stuff is really good, this is my second cctv camera from this company first was a solar camera for wildlife in my garden. Got this one for the side of the house for security. All I can say is really good quality really well made. The wire that goes through the wall is only slim so don’t need to drill a big hole for the cables. The picture quality is good and the fact you can move it via the app is great. The app is very easy to understand took 30 seconds to setup the camera.

    All in all, a very good product I’m thinking about getting more for the rest of the house.

    Thanks

    Have had this for a couple of weeks now and have installed at the front of the house to keep an eye on the drive. PTZ feature is great as it give a better field of vision depending on what I want to keep an eye put on!

    The unit itself is well made and it sits happily screwed to the wall of the house, using the supplied fixings and mounting template. Seems well sealed and doesn’t look out of place on the wall.

    Reception is good, alerts are sent pretty consistently using the app. Good product and well priced.

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this camera system to replace an older system that was not altogether reliable and its been up and running for 2 weeks now. I chose this system for the 360 capability, but also for the fact that the camera sits flush to the wall with all cables within the wall. The join with the power lead was inside the house if I needed it to be (I have it tucked just inside the wall). I also liked that this system is totally remote, where as my previous one meant resetting the camera using a button on the camera itself). Setting up the system was easy…I had it running inside the house first, but in the right places to test the wifi strength. The picture quality is fab, day or night. I have SD cards in to do 24hr recording. I have mine set to just the light coming on, not the noise, but this is great as this lights the way in the garden when I go out too! My only complaint would be the instructions in the booklet, which are sparse. There were certain things I had to find out how to do by trial and error. All in all though a great camera…so far!

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI love this camera, the night vision on infra red is very bright and great quality. Day vision is vey good and the ability to pan and tilt is extremely useful and I can keep an eye on my neighbours property as well. The motion detection works really well and I have adjusted sensitivity to suit. The spot lights are very bright. I live alone so this has given me a great sense of security. I would highly recommend and I will be looking to purchase another for the rea

    Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m a beginner when it comes to security camera’s, and I found this really simple and easy to install. The application was simple to find on the Playstore and connection to the wifi was easy enough using the instructions provided in the box. The cable is an ideal length and seems to be really robust. The camera itself is really sturdy and the picture quality is really clear day and night. We had this up and running really quickly and I was particularly impressed by the motion capture feature so I can feel at ease when I’m not actively looking at our camera footage. Really good value for money as security cameras aren’t the cheapest kit on the market! Would recommend.

    Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’ve had one of the new Anran indoor/Outdoor pan and tilt Wi-Fi cameras for a week now and these are my findings.

    Whilst the total package is not 100% perfect much of this conclusion is directed towards a need to expand the instruction manual rather than a criticism of the actual camera itself. I also had a glitch one morning when the app simply froze but this lasted only a few hours and has not happened since. I believe the developers of this app are looking into this. The camera however continued to record. It matters not whether you buy a basic Mini or a top of the range Porsche, it’s a machine and things do go wrong at times just so long as the manufacturer is proactive and sets out to put things right, Anran appear to do so.
    So, to begin. This camera comes very well packaged but not over the top. At first glance you get the impression of a very sturdy and well-built piece of equipment, something that will withstand the rigors of any weather. The instruction booklet supplied is easy to follow with a step-by-step guide that has your camera up and running in a matter of minutes. It is from this point however that I feel greater guidance is necessary, especially for anyone who is installing a CCTV camera for the first time.

    With the app loaded on your phone it’s just a matter of working through each element in order to both familiarise oneself with every aspect and to tailor these to your personal requirements. For those less inquisitive, further guidance in the instruction manual would be helpful. Perhaps a page or two with an image of the appropriate symbol and an explanation alongside as to its use might be an easy solution. There are, no doubt, those who may not be familiar with ‘PTZ’ or how to mask off areas not needed and therefore not get to grips with the remote movement of this camera unless they simply press and hope. An assumption that everyone is as clued up as those who manufacture a product is not the best approach. All of that said for anyone struggling then the Anran technical support department is first class.

    Well, that’s the negative bit out of the way. The camera itself is a dream to use. Remote pan and tilt are very impressive, how did we manage without it. The camera lens supplies a very impressive picture quality along with sound. I chose to use a 128GB micro-SD card, purchased separately, for recording rather than subscribe to the cloud storage and from my experience with other cameras this size of SD card provides a more than adequate time frame of storage. Once full it simply writes over so no need to keep formatting it. A nice touch with this camera is the strobe light, affective only at night but then why would you want it during the daytime. It is also supposed to have a built-in alarm that sounds when the strobe light is turned on. I didn’t find this with my particular camera, fortunately, as my dog is very much noise adverse, and it would have sent her scurrying for the back door. A nice touch here would be the option to turn this alarm off or on to suit individual needs but leave the strobe light to come on as normal. Over several evenings I have monitored the operation of the strobe light in both low, medium, and high sensitivity settings and whilst in low setting the light rarely came on, I didn’t really note much difference in the time it took to come on between medium and high. My conclusion therefore is that perhaps the strobe light feature would benefit if the sensitivity could somehow be increased in order to cover a distance of, let us say 5 to 8 meters, and be more instant. If and how this might be achieved I’m sure Anran technical people will be able to solve.

    So that’s about it. In a nutshell a great CCTV camera at a reasonable price that allows you to monitor your home from a mobile phone no matter where you are. Would I recommend it? Most certainly.
