This laptop is the bee’s knees. Excellent, flexible build quality combined with quiet fans and a whopping 4Tb of super fast storage along with an RTX 3080 Ti makes for a brilliant all-rounder that will last years (even with an OLED display). But, alas, when I bought this unit from Amazon and activated the warranty, it had 5 months left on it.

Turns out that you need to send your Amazon invoice directly to Asus to instigate the full warranty (since you didn’t buy it directly from them, they have no way of identifying WHEN the product was bought unless you provide them with a receipt, as thus base the warranty on manufacturing date). That was sorted out within a couple of days, but I wanted to extend the warranty and take advantage of on-site services. Turns out that you can only extend the warranty for a year, thus while I now have a 2-year on-site warranty for this device, I’d have like to have had the option of taking this to at least 3 years – especially given that the cost of his unit is close to what I’ve been paying for MacBook Pros over the years.

On the plus side, unlike a MacBook Pro, I can replace the battery, SSDs and RAM myself.

ASUS, I love you, but please consider putting together a longer warranty for a device of this spec. I’d really like to keep my devices on a 3-4 year basis before overall replacement if possible.

The screen is quite reflective, but everything else is excellent.

Screen is very good, outstanding. Calibration simple. The pen/stylus is a much better idea than drawing on screen, has good tilt and pressure and its small enough for edits and hand is not obscuring drawing. Quick processing photos and other artwork. The Thunderbolt systems and disk work well. I had the Xfold 16 Ryzen 9 which was good but not as good as this for creators. ( I expect it is good for gamers though) Struggle to find things I dont like. 16gb Ram in a machine like this… no not really ok should be 32 but it manages. The fans need full speed mode for intensive work this needs switching in creator hub and it is quite loud. The alternative performance mode is auto switching but lets the laptop get hot and it is uncomfortable on your knee. Overall I would not hesitate to have this and from Amazon iy was inexpensive and warrantied for 2 years.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersOverall, I’m very satisfied with this laptop. It has a solid build, beautiful screen and great performance, competitive with my 2-year old PC, and it’s pretty lightweight and slim. Asus Dial happened to be more useful, then I expected.

There are certain things you should consider before buying, though:
    1) Battery life is rather poor. I get about 4 hours working with several lightweight apps like Chrome+Spotify+Acrobat. It’s less, while using professional software – although for the best performance you need to be plugged anyway.
    2) The OLED glossy screen works best when you are in dimly lit or dark environment. So if you intend to spend a lot of time outside in the sun – I’d suggest to look for a matte screen, otherwise you are going to see perfect reflections of yourself and the surroundings instead of the content on screen.
    3) Tiny things that I just found annoying: the keyboard backlight has 3 levels of brightness and the lowest one is still too bright to work in the dark. There are no HOME and END keys which I use all the time in my professional software, meanwhile there are TWO print screen buttons.

This is a great laptop, does everything I need it to do and more, this laptop has a great screen for watching films and lots of storage to down load films when I am away from home

It’s great value considering the specs.

The main issues are noisy wire coil and offset keyboard. The keyboard I couldn’t get used too as it’s sits to the left of the centre. The numeric keypad is a waste of space.

The 3080ti is throttled back so not much faster than a 3070ti.

Lovely screen and nice build quality

This is a well-priced, easy to use/set-up laptop. Being used to UK keyboard it was very helpful to be able to purchase in the UK and ship to Germany where I now live. Delivery was well in advance of scheduled date.
However, I have just noticed a small dent in the outer screen casing. Upon checking the delivery box there is a small crease caused by a sharp edge. It’s my fault for not checking sooner. This can can only have been caused by carelessness during delivery. Not my first experience of this. Whilst it doesn’t cause any issues with the operation of the laptop, more care needs to be taken when shipping to ensure customer satisfaction.

Had my previous HP laptop for 8 years and was getting very slow so needed a new laptop that was fast and had a powerful graphics card! This laptop (i7, NVIDIA 3070) is an excellent laptop! The screen is beautiful and crisp and superb colour accuracy and display! It loads instantly and the power button doubles up as a finger print sensor too if you don’t want to unlock the laptop with the webcam via Windows Hello! Also, I tried logging into the laptop at night using facial recognition via Windows Hello and it worked just fine in pitch black darkness! Excellent! Editing photos using Lightroom +/- Photoshop is a breeze and the Asus dial is a great addition! Personally thought it would get in the way when typing but it doesn’t and is very conveniently placed! Such a great little invention! So helpful, the dial, when using LR/PS but also for system stuff such as volume/brightness settings as well as using the dial for others apps like chrome and scrolling through tabs etc!

Overall, a great laptop! Gaming I haven’t tried but the one game I do play (Football manager) works great! Lastly, battery is good! Get 3-4 hours use when just browsing or for typing! Fan loud when in standard more but if you out fan to full mode it’ll sound like a jet engine!

Love this laptop! Worth the black friday sale deal!

    Great laptop!

Took a gamble when it had only a handful of reviews

At first the colours and certain images looked off, but I’m used to it now

Haven’t used it for gaming yet, but comfortable knowing it’ll run decent software with relative ease

Got this on credit, and haven’t had any problems with i

No really, You are picking 4K resolution just not to observe pixel mesh and then they are creating easily visible Touchscreen mesh. Bravo ASUS best decision ever.
OLED display has cool black, but overall I was not super impressed by it. And yes it has very small bubble under screen in right up corner.

Everything else seems to be good, but for me mesh on the screen was too much for this price!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have other Asus components so familiar with the stylish & quality aspects of the brand. I was looking for a high spec 16″ laptop with an OLED screen and the Zenbook Pro X certainly delivers. Ignore the Amazon description of ‘white’, there is no white on this laptop, it’s only made in a dark colour. OLED screen have incredible contrast so blacks are really black, the gloss screen only improves clarity (but not suitable for outdoor use due to reflections). The lid has a badge which lights up, there are RGB keyboard and under keyboards lights, you can adjust the colours & brightness or turn them all off. As you open the lid, the keyboard elevates automatically and I enjoy typing on the keyboard, at a slightly elevated angle.
The touchpad is glass, to the left of the touchpad is the Asus dial which can control a number of things including volume & screen brightness. You can display a number pad on the touchpad.
The Zenbook has Harman Kardon speakers which are pretty good and you get enough ports including a full size SD card slot. The processor is an i9 12900 Intel, memory is 32GB 5200Mhz, storage 2TB SSD, NVidia RTX 3060 graphics card (good enough for gaming at 1080 but this is not a gaming laptop). There is a screen pen in the box for creative types which is rechargeable.
The webcam is a 1080 and well above average laptop spec. There is a 3.5mm heaphone jack or you can use Bluetooth for audio. I use a Bluetooth mouse and headphones so no cables in the way. This is a very high quality, high specification laptop with a wonderful 4K OLED screen which is also fun and interesting to use.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI had my doubts about spending so much money on this thing because it didn’t have all that many reviews. Bought it when it went on sale (999) and it has been everything I could have asked for. It’s very quick on all things, the Ryzen processor is a beast, and it can game at very high quality too. It can do all this without being thick or heavy, and it feels as light and thin as my old MacBook.

Well done ASUS, you’ve pulled off a miracle of a laptop!

This is great laptop. Amazing screen colors. Support Linux-Mint OS. Only one small thing. On Asus web, the specification say that there is a fingerprint reader located at the power button. But both Windows, and Linux-Mint don’t find any fingerprint-reader device, so it seems there isn’t any…. I already update the BIOS and all software using the Asus support program in Win11 but still Windows 11 won’t find the reader (and Linux-Mint don’t find it either), so I think there isn’t any fingerprint reader in this device?
Give 4 star because of this, but in whole the Laptop is great.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe laptop looks stylish. What a pity that it doesn’t have anti glare screen. I’ve been using it for about a month. I’m satisfied with this laptop. However there was terrible mistake with the delivery. I recived a frying pan, not a laptop. You can imagine my feelings when I opened the box. What fool put a frying pan in a parcel instead of a laptop?
Fortunately, the customer service solved this problem. However I wasted my time to go to the Post office and send this damn frying pan back. By the way, the laptop’s great.

5.0 out of 5 stars An awesome laptop

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought this laptop for uni work (computer science degree) and gaming and it’s been fantastic for both. The Ryzen 9 keeps it really snappy and responsive whilst the 3050Ti (whilst not the greatest GPU nvidia offer) packs enough of a punch to game on both the 1080p laptop screen and a huge 3440×1440 external monitor I have. You’d struggle more with the latest AAA games but for anything else it’s a dream. Just remember to plug it in for gaming as you’ll drain the battery in less than an hour otherwise.

The laptop screen itself is nothing to write home about at 1080p so if it really matters to you then get the 4K version. That being said, as an OLED display it has great contrast and colour reproduction.

All in all though, at the 1200 I paid, this laptop is just incredible value for money – I honestly think I’d struggle to build a better performing PC from scratch at that price!

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersBEWARE: RAM IS 16 GB AND SOLDERED (NOT UPGRADBALE)

Overall I am impressed with this laptop and am surprised to see so few reviews on the AMD Pro 15 models. While the screen is 1080p the versatility of colours emitted from the screen is vastly different from a HDR screen you would see with most other laptops. The processing power of this laptop is very impressive with the Ryzen 9-5900HX (3.3 single x 8 cores) handling very demanding software itself. However, this is limited to only 16gb of soldered ram which you can’t replace (may be different in the future) which may hold the performance back in the future. Power consumption of the CPU has small limitations which in fact increases its effectiveness (up to 54 W).

I would consider the battery life to be average at 8 hours on light usage (such as a word document) and 6 on streaming or watching videos. Using battery mode the performance is limited and you can limit this further to provide more battery life. This is replaceable. When this laptop is connected to power its performance can be turned up to “performance mode”. The device can be controlled directly using the MyAsus application which can be accessed through the keyboard.

The keyboard quality is average with low key travel and some keys (particularly w, e, s, a), (ironically used most for gaming) sounding slightly cheap and hollow. The keyboard is backlit although this is not as bright as I would like. The PgUp/PgDn keys do not work whilst gaming. Tools available via the keyboard are exceptional, beating every laptop I have owned previously.

Software is reliable however, windows 11 may be hard to get used to.

In terms of gaming this performs very well with reasonable graphics and average frame rates (around 60Hz for most FPS), although the two fans are quite loud but nothing a closed door and headphones cannot fix. Fan can be set to 3 levels of cooling including whisper and performance mode.

This is an OLED screen and necessary measures should be taken to prevent degradation such as OLED burn from static images.

In the build quality is very high with an aluminium lid and decent plastic surrounding the motherboard and keyboard. This looks better in person than the images provided. This laptop looks professional and comes with a camera cover with additional mute mic and camera off keys.

Port selection is adequate however, the only viable video output is a single 1.4 HDMI port which is adequate for a mid range gaming monitor (around 120Hz can be achieved). 2x USB 2 ports are adequate for accessories such as a mouse and USB stick but are on left side. There is an additional USB 3.2 port on the right (uncertain as to whether or not it would provide a low end video output) and a USB-C port 3.2 (data only). Micro SD card reader achieves average speeds.

Overall, the laptop is light, professional, versatile, fast and good value for money. This is was purchased with my own money and this review is not affiliated with ASUS/Amazon. Please watch the prices as this has fluctuated between 1000 and 1100.
