Strong and versatile.
The brackets looked a little brittle when I assembled this but both our toddler and lab has rattled it vigorously and put a lot of weight on it, as well as the usual accidental kicks and punts it’s received while adults are stepping over it. Very useful and highly recommended.
Ended up using in multiple configurations and even dropping out one of the panels, it’s very versatile.
Good quality and easy to build
Good quality product. I have a 120cm gap to fill. I selected this as I felt
it quite flexible for other purposes down the line e.g a christmas tree.
It is simple to fix although if you are fixing to wood the screws are very thick and can easily crack wood if you go against the grain.
Negatives I will be honest the mechanism for opening he latch isn’t great. I have a babydan step through baby gap so you don’t trip and that mechanism is much better. I also find the door doesn’t swing well unless held up as you do so.
Does it stop my child, yes. It is good quality yes.

Ideal, easy to use and very versatile
Using this primarily to keep the child away from a stove. It’s very versatile as I also use this as a “baby prison” and its quite easy to put together depending on how you want to configure it.
The gate is ideal and convenient and sure beats lift an entire fire guard out of the way.
It’s great value for money and I’d highly recommend getting this if considering on buying a safety guard.

Perfect for the job
Little did we know when we bought this,that we would be dealing with houdini of the puppy kind. Superman would be proud of the flying our 5 month old staffie can do over this. Having said that, we lucked out with the 6 year old who hasnt figured it out yet, and it seals him in nicely in the living room where he’s locked away from mischeif.
Gate is sturdy and is easy to fit. We bought it initially to protect the xmas tree,but now it stops the 6 year old from going in the garden while dog flys past with a grin on her face. Were happy with it and would certainly buy again.
Flexible, good quality and durable
Used to cordon off half our conservatory for the rabbits in the winter so we could control when they got out the back door and protect things from being chewed etc! Really good and durable – one of them bites the bars and I haven’t found any marks yet. You’re supposed to screw the ends to tge walls but I haven’t needed to and it still keeps tgem in. Gate can be opened single handed if you’re dexterous enough and the joins between each panel can be angled to make the shape you need. Really pleased with this item!
Having no banisters or full height newell post for our stairs we were wondering what we’d do to keep it safe with our 8 month old getting more mobile. Fortunately stumbled upon this super convenient solution.
We took the medium size which was perfect for our needs. It fixes to the wall on one side and the newel post nicely thanks to the adjustable height fixing brackets. Assembly was okay, I managed it with a bad back but it took a while to get the bits into the right position to make sure it would be just where we wanted it.
The gate opening mechanism could be easier to operate, it’s not too bad but I was hoping for something better. The fixing brackets are also plastic which could give concerns to its durability but no issues so far.
Extremely convenient, saved us on having to put in a new newel post and banister for now and was a very affordable solution. I would recommend to anyone with a more awkward setup needing a stair gate.
Very pleased
Overall very happy with this easy to put together and to install just needed a drill and plugs as we have brick interior walls. It just what we needed and I love how adaptable it is to add and subtract panels as needed to create the perfect barrie
Easy ro fit and operate.
Used this to seperate our dog in our open planned home. Easy to fit and use. Only issue we have was the dog (a 7 montg old springer) can clear it without batting an eyelid. But the product is great, its the dog that’s the problem…
Quality produc
What an excellent product. Very well enginerred. Instructions could be a bit clearer but putting it together ain’t rocket science. Does what it says on the can and more – I thoroughly recommend.
Looks very good, finished very well
The instructions are not as simple as I would have liked and could not find answers on the video. However, when I did work out how it was meant to be installed it did the job very well indeed and the product does look very good. Some of the components are plastic so the final installation is not as firm as I would have liked but does the job. Overall result was very pleasing indeed.
Brilliant, very easy to assemble and install
I have turned my garage into an outdoor room / conservatory – when it gets too hot, I can open the double garage doors onto the street without worrying about the dog escaping. Brilliant, very easy to assemble and install.
Great for any space
Fantastic gate for awkward spaces. I used it to separate my open plan kitchen/living room where one wall is set back further than the other, i never thought i would find a gate to fit.
Also the gap between the bars is very small which is great if you are using the gate for a puppy. My 8 week old pug puggle puppy did not fit through.
Flexible and sturdy
Currently in use as a fireguard. Good choice of materials and design which is really good put together. The guard is very flexible but still feels sturdy. The manual could be improved though – there are a few videos on YouTube which are useful to watch. Overall it is fit for purpose.
Ich habe dieses Gitter gekauft um unser Vorzimmer abteilen zu knnen, damit Leute mit SChuhen von der Strae nicht in direkt in den Krabbelbereich meiner Babies kommen knnen und umgekehrt. Nachdem die Lieferung einige Tage gelegen hat habe ich mich jetzt endlich aufgerafft, das Gitter zu installieren.
***Verpackung
Die Einzelteile waren durchaus bersichtlich und stosicher verpackt. Die einzelnen Querstreben (Bauteil D lt. Anleitung) hatten zwar Lackbeschdigungen an den Enden, dies war allerdings schlechter Verarbeitung als schlechter Verpackung geschuldet. Nachdem die Beschdigung nicht gro bzw. wesentlich war und sowieso nie zu sehen ist, habe ich dafr keine Punkte abgezogen.
***Anleitung
Die Anleitung ist nach IKEA Prinzip in drei Teile gehalten:
1.) Verpackungsinhalt
2.) Warnhinweise in Piktogram und (abweichend von Ikea) auch in Schrift, in unterschiedlichen Sprachen
3.) Bauanleitung
An Verpackungsinhalten und Warnhinweisen ist, abgesehen vom fehlenden Leerzeichen zwischen Bauteilbezeichnung und Multiplikator-x, nichts auszusetzen. Im Gegenteil sogar, ich finde es wichtig hervorzuheben, dass hier auf Mindestabstnde hingewiesen wurde, fr den Fall, dass dieses Gitter als Kaminschutzgitter verwendet werden sollte.
Die Bauanleitung war verwirrend, schlecht lesbar und damit fr mich de facto unbrauchbar. Nachdem ich 10 Minuten lang versucht habe die Anleitung zu lesen habe ich dann im Selbstversuch in 5 Minuten die notwendigen Schritte herauen gehabt. Tatschlich wre ich nur mit Packliste, ohne Anleitung, schneller fertig gewesen.
***Qualitt
Wie bereits bei der Verpackung geschrieben sind die Einzelstreben mit den nicht bzw. schlecht entgrateten Enden, gleich ins Auge gestochen. Der Rest hat auf den ersten Blick hochwertig ausgesehen, dies hat sich bei den Kunststoffteilen fr die Wandmontage als Irrtum herausgestellt.
Das System zur Wandmontage an sich ist uerst clever durchdacht, besteht aus insgesamt drei Teilen (Wandteil, Einrastteil und Querstrebe) und wre in einer perfekten Welt auch wirklich einfach zu montieren. Leider war einer der Einrasteile konkav (nach auen) verbogen, wodurch die Montage an einer geraden Wand zu einem Kraftakt wurde. Bei der Montage ist dann ein Teil der Kunststofflamelle eingerissen.
Wenn das Teil zum Einrasten nicht aus PE/PVC sondern auch als Metall ausgefhrt wrde knnte eine Verformung dieser Art nicht wirklich vorkommen, hier wurde leider an der falschen Stelle gespart.
***Flexibilitt
Hier wurden meine Erwartungen bertroffen. Solange man die zu berbrckende Direktgesamtlnge mit den Einzelteilen berschreitet (!) sind den Gestaltungsmglichkeiten keine Grenzen gesetzt. Es gibt zwei Konfigurationen, welche lt. Anleitung nicht angewandt werden drfen, nmlich S-frmig und in gerader Linie; hier ist sonst die strukturelle Integritt gefhrdet.
Was fr mich ein eher unklarer Punkt war, den ich hier fr andere aufschreiben mchte: Es ist wirklich nur eine beidseitige Wandmontage notwendig, die einzelnen Elemente mssen (bzw. knnen) nicht (nativ) am Boden befestigt werden!
***Stabilitt
Nachdem ich dieses Gitter als Begrenzungsmglichkeit fr meine Kleinen haben mchte habe ich das Gitter auch einem Belastungstest unterzogen; mehrfach gewaltsam das Gewicht meines Oberkrpers dagegen werfen hat das Gitter zum Quietschen, aber nicht zum brechen gebracht; dies ist speziell in Hinblick auf den Riss in der Kunststofflamelle in der Wandhaltung bemerkenswert.
***Fazit
Alles in allem bin ich zufrieden, den einen Stern verloren hat das Produkt durch die gebrochene Lamelle.
THE one to buy. Great fire guard!
we bought this gate (and 2 extra side pieces) to fit around our very large fire place where we have a log burner. My husband found it really easy to install, its extremely robust and does not get hot when the log burner is on full (the metal gets warm but not hot). the gate is secure and it looks ok with the general room decor (as much as a baby gate can do!)
Really pleased with this product, so much so that my parents and my in-laws both bought the same one for their fire places too!
Super simple assembly and versatile
Super easy to assemble and love that you can position each panel at different angles to get the best fit. We are renting and not allow to drill holes in the wall, so against manufacturer’s advice we have not install the wall mounts. Instead we have played with different angles and positions before securing the joints in place. It’s very sturdy. It does not move when I rock it!
Perfect barrier solution whatever you need!
I bought this to create a barrier for my dog, so that he wouldn’t get out of the front door which fronts onto a road. It has been perfect and I have changed it’s configuration a few times to meet the needs I have.
Whilst I am using this as a pet guard, I can see it would have many uses around the home.
The opening latch is a bit stiff, but I think that is its newness.
Great product at a great price and the availability of modular pieces makes it a value for money product.

Great gate/fence for keeping tots safe!
Only had this assembled and up for one day, but so impressed. Construction is clearer and high quality, and can be arranged to fit numerous situations. 3 long sections and 2 small sections (any of them can attach to the wall). I had a 2.3m gap to span and this worked great, leaving me with one spare small piece. Having bought a second one, I can add that bit in to the other one too. Pretty sure you could make a free standing circle with it if you had enough pieces too.
Very easy to put up, you do want to be competent putting rawl plugs into a wall, if not going into wood.
Durability 4 only as I have only had up for 1 day, but it FEELS solid, and if it kept my toddler in for a day… it will last a decade!
Easy to use and portable.
This is an excellent product and can be used in various ways. This is the first one I’ve bought and can’t explain how much it has eased my life. I’ve since purchased another I use them to contain my two dogs and would not be without it now
Well made gate but flimsy looking hinges
Well made gate and as far as these thing go it looks ok, I use mine to divide a room, the wall mounting brackets are in plastic and look a bit flimsy if they were metal I’d have given 5 stars.
NINJA CHILD PROTECTION
Due to our odd shapped hallway/stairs and a sneaky ninja baby, we needed more than just a stairgate.

Solid, looks good, not too expensive.
Extra wide, very well built. I was surprised by how solid this thing really was. Easy to install and the matte black doesn’t look bad at all. Used to keep pups out of the living room so gaps are pretty tight, not much is going to get through that’s no supposed to. My only gripe is the gate itself can be a little tricky to lock into place, requires a lift and shift technique that my girlfriend struggles with.

Absolutely love this BabyDan product! We bought it as a fire guard for our large fireplace and it works perfect, it is so versatile and can be positioned in so many different ways. Extremely easy to put together and so well made. Would highly recommend!
Secure and stable guard
Works perfect and also looks as stylish as a hearth gate can be. Liked how adjustable it is and now that springs here, we’ve moved it into a position where we can have the bifold doors open and don’t have to worry about our toddler going outside. I’d recommend it as it’s a quality item.

Great room divider. Purchased to close off an open plan kitchen from a Toddler, but also works well at enclosing a new puppy. We purchased the black for a black and white kitchen and it looks good. Extra pieces are available to buy which we did as we needed one extra piece. We also purchased an extra set of wall fixings so that we could use it elsewhere in the house as needed.
My only complaint would be that it doesn’t fold away neatly like the old Babydan playpen that we had. You have to take it apart and store all the pieces separately which is a pain once the box has been thrown away!
Perfect kit to keep pup out of trouble!
Perfect to section off our open dining area from the living area to help our house cats have retreat space from our big, eager puppy! Easy to fit using the pictorial instructions and the adjustments were a breeze to make. Really good quality system and doing the job perfectly. Sorry, pup – this gate system has ensured the cat tray buffet is now closed!
Great safety gate
Great safety gate, we have a large opening with wierd angled walls and this was the only gate thatwas wide/flexible enough to fit. The gate was easy to assemble and has a really good build quality, the only thing I had a bit of an issue with is the plastic wall mount, it does the job but feels a bit wobbly, could have been sturdier. Over all, a really great product.

Brilliant how it builds as a modular system. Used around our bottom 2 steps which protruded beyond the walls so a regular gate had nothing to screw into. We attached an extra bit bought separately so it would stretch far enough. Measure your floorspace carefully before buying

Only thing I would I would say is if you are going to use this as a fireguard the manual gives a minimum distance of 90cm from an open fire and for stoves a distance of 75cm. Would have been nice to know this before, however we have a stove and the guard is approx 35cm from it. Whilst the guard goes get warm it’s not remotely dangerous.
Sturdy design that is customizable.
This gate works really well. I needed it to block off a stair well that is awkward shaped and it did the trick. It has the option to leave out a section, which is what I needed. Sturdy enough to keep the kid contained.
Excellent way to fence off area
We use this to fence off an area for our little boy to roam freely in. It was very easy to setup and attach to the wall, and is also very easy to remove when we need to (e.g. for vacuuming). It seems very sturdy – our boy gives it a good shake and it moved
We had quite an awkward space to cover and each end of the gate had to be fixed to a wall which was 90 degrees to the other wall. I’d add a photo but the Amazon app won’t let me. Anyway, this did the job very well. Build and construction very solid and not too hard to assemble. The box was open was open when it arrived and the instructions missing but I was able to download these from the manufacturers website. Not going to lose a star as this may have been the courier’s fault.
Best out there
Great children fire guard and my 9 month and 3 year old will not get near the fire or hearth. I compared a lot at the time and very pleased I went for this one. Good to have gate for me to reach fire to keep burning. It would be nice if it folded up easier when taking down when kids are not around. Overall from my research probably the best out there. Got it on amazon prime day so great value too.
Highly recommend protect and service/delivery
Excellent product, arrived quickly undamaged and all the bits needed in the box. Fitted the gap perfectly with one extension part (as I’d measured up before ordering) and is currently stopping my puppy wrecking thre lounge.. yes I would highly recommend this to anyone, excellent service and fast delivery.
Not easily stored away
Excellent quality and certainly very strong and safe, my only issue is folding it away when not needed as our grandchildren are with me only a short while every day or two.
We have double-doors between our living room and dining room and need to stop our one year old escaping through them now that he can reach door handles.
The medium version of the BabyDan Configure was the perfect size and attached very well to either side of the door frame.
It’s solid so he won’t be getting through any time soon. The gate is easy enough for an adult to open/close but no chance of baby figuring it out.
It took a few minutes to figure out how to connect the gate to the side sections, but after that it was easy enough.
If you look at the photos I’ve attached – it also works very well as a perfectly-sized playpen to keep the baby out of trouble! Well, I thought it did… Wife said it’s not big enough but I think she’s just spoiling him.
Great produc
Very sturdy gate. We use it round our corner wood burning stove and it fits perfectly. Screws to the wall but easily lifted if needed. Very happy with purchase. Looks much better in this colour too 🙂 more mode
Does the job!
Fixed to wall so once up, we can light the fire without the worry of it falls by over etc. Door is useful. For a fire guard, it’s not overly offensive to look at.
Just what I needed
Very pleased with the baby gate, especially the extra size. My” baby” has four legs and the gate is required to keep her downstairs at night, that is where the extra size comes into it’s own, fitting across a wide opening. Reasonable easy to assemble and robust, just the job

Brilliant product, easy to fit. We bought 2 for our dual aspect burner. It doesn’t look too imposing on our fireplace and our 8 month old son can barely get his arms through the holes. We will be buying more fitting plates and an extension side so it fits our French door for the summer. Versatile product.
I've had it a year, it is still grea
I have had this for a year now and it really is an excellent product, easy to install, use, and to step over. It covers a wide double door opening very well if you get the configure M extension and the fact that it can be easily extended was a bonus. An excellent product that I would recommend to others.
We had been putting off buying a fire guard for our log burner for a while, as we have an awkward p-shaped hearth and we weren’t sure how we could secure a normal guard around it. We also wanted something discrete that wouldn’t distract from the rustic charm of our converted barn.
Well I’m glad we found the BabyDan hearth gate.
It fulfills our brief perfectly. It has multiple sections which you can adapt to your particular fireplace with ease and you position the opening gate where you need it to be to access the fire. You can add or remove extension panels as necessary and even purchase additional extensions if you have a particularly large fireplace.
In terms of fixing, it can be screwed into the wall, but we haven’t got that far yet and despite this I can rock on the gate without it even attempting to fall over, which shows you how sturdy it is.
Aesthetics-wise, it looks fab, the black metal means it ties in nicely with the log burner and it’s doesn’t actually look out of place.
The metal stays cool to touch once the fire is lit and we have no issues with our little girl playing in the living room when the fire is going now.
As a bonus, the guard can also be adapted for use as a room divider; great if you have an open plan living space but need to section off a baby safe area for your little one.
Yes it costs a lot more than the cheapest fireguards but you definitely get what you pay for. It’s well designed and looks the part.
I use this to keep a puppy in the kitchen, across a wider than door-sized opening. I’m not great with a drill, so got my 16 year old son to do this – he did a top job and is no diy expert. Easy to open with one hand, and very robust with the three sections angled across a 160cm gap. I have the black version, and it doesn’t show dust/dirt, and it’s easy to wipe down if necessary.

This is brilliant, used for a corner log burner (large burner rectangular in size facing out direct from corner). Cofigurable at a few different angles and able to operate the gate to open the burner door floor cleaning. didn’t notice it getting overly hot and kept kids far enough away for me to be comfortable running it during the day.
My parents have one of these at there house which they use as a fire hearth to keep our little toddler out. It is great and really versatile and simple to use. That’s why we bought this one for our house to be anything from a hearth surround for the open fireplace, to fence off the patio doors when they are open or to act as a playpen when we are outside and want a bit of downtime from the 24/7 supervision!

Cette barrire est destination d’un grand chien (un peu plus grand qu’un labrador) et plutt dynamique. Il me fallait donc une clture qui tient la route. Et cette barrire fait 9 Kg environs. Du coup elle est efficace pour le chien mme sans la fixer au mur !!! Gnial.
Le montage est ultra simple est sans outils (sauf fixation murale). La notice est plutt bien faite et le tout tient par des ressorts en compression assez fort. Donc il faut de la force pour le montage. Une personne frle n’y arrivera pas sans user d’astuces (sangle, ou autre). Personnellement un jeu d’enfant.
La qualit de l’ensemble est trs trs bonne. La barrire est bien rigide, ne tremble pas et ne fait donc pas de bruit mtallique au moindre mouvement du chien. Trs agrable. La finition des peintures est trs bonne galement.
La barrire se fixe sur les supports muraux et se dfait plutt simplement.
Les angles des panneaux ont un systme de blocage. Ce qui permet la barrire de bien rester en place et de ne pas se dplacer. Top.
L’ouverture de la porte est un difficile au dbut puis le ressort se fait un peu. Maintenant (quelques jours) cela va beaucoup mieux.
Bref, je n’ai pas de reproche cette barrire part son poids si on doit la dplacer tous les jours, mais c’est ce poids qui fait qu’elle est top une fois installe donc …..

Sehr flexibles Gitter - Robust, gut verarbeitet.
Wir haben einen ca 150 cm breiten Durchgang den es zu sichern galt, da unsere Kleinen das Treppensteigen fr sich entdeckt hatten.
Die Lieferung kam im Orignalkarton, war prompt und ausreichend verpackt. Das Gitter selbst ist aus Metall, die einzelnen Verbinder und die Schlieung aus Kunststoff. Schlichtes aber zweckmiges Design.
Die Montage war abgesehen von der Wandbefestigung werkzeuglos mglich und schnell erledigt.
Pro:
– Tr frei positionierbar, Transchlag ebenso.
– Das komplette Gitter kann am Stck ohne Werkzeug binnen kurzer Zeit entfernt werden. Es wird einfach an der Wandhalterung ausgehngt.
– Das Gitter ist trotzdem so in der Wandhalterung eingehngt, dass es Kinder nicht herausbekommen.
– Die Verbinder / Eckstellen des Gitters sind rastend so dass das verbaute Gesamtgitter nicht von den Kindern ber den Fussboden geschoben werden kann (hat aber auch einen Nachteil…siehe unten)
-Die Tre bleibt in geffneter Stellung stehen. Positiv, wenn die Kinder im Bett sind, dann muss man nicht dauernd die Tre ffnen (aber: Auch hier ein Contra. s.u.)
Contra:
– Wir haben das Gitter unter anderem gekauft, weil wir dachten wir knnten es ggf. auch mal einseitig aushngen und zur Seite schieben um z.B. mit dem Kinderwagen durch zu fahren. Durch die Rastung (prinzipiell positiv) geht das nicht so ohne weiters. Auch ist das Gitter recht schwer (prinzipiell auch positiv…) so dass es bei der Breite nur schwer “schnell” weggemacht werden kann. Einfach dem Gewicht und der Ausladung geschuldet. Also unseres Erachtens nicht zu empfehlen frs tgliche aushngen. Da dies aber nur unsere Idee war und vom Hersteller auch so nie beworben wurde, gibts dafr keinen Abzug. (Zumal ich, wie schon beschrieben, die einzelnen Eigenschaften prinzipiell als positiv erachte.). Da das Gitter flexibel ist, haben wir es einfach etwas anders im Flur angebracht. So kann es drin bleiben, der Kinderwagen kommt durch und muss nun nur noch gelegentlich ausgehngt werden.
-Die Tre geht nicht von alleine wieder zu, wie z.B. bei unserem anderen Trgitter von Geuther. Dieses hat auch eine “Offen”-Arretierung, fllt aber auerhalb dieser Arretierung wieder ins Schloss. Diese Funktion gibt es bei diesem Gitter nicht. Die Tre muss also jedes mal explizit wieder geschlossen und verriegelt werden. Das kann meines Erachtens gefhrlich werden und muss beachtet werden. (Dafr gab es des Stern Abzug).
Alles in allem bekommt man was beworben wurde mit guter Qualitt zu einem guten Preis. –> Kaufempfehlung
We had a gap that was not in a straight line that we needed to block off. We used this between a wall on our landing and a bedroom doorway on an angle to block off the stairs and the bannister that has rails that our baby would be able to crawl beneath. We have only used one of the two side sections that are provided for us to be able to achieve this. As a previous reviewer has said, this is not strictly within the guidelines provided, but we feel this is safe and it is covering the gap that we needed to prevent access to perfectly. Really straightforward to alter angles between the panels, put together and affix to the wall. You will need some wall plugs in addition to the bits provided in the box if affixing this to a wall.
Tarantula/Scorpion anti-smoothing fence.
I bought this as a ‘fence’ to keep my baby son away from my collection of scorpions and tarantula. There are lots of wires from sockets to heat mats so the area could be considered quite dangerous aside from the animals themselves. The ‘fence’ is well made, sturdy, looks good, has a gate in the centre and was easy to fit by simply assembling it and screwing the brackets into the wall. The best bit was the fact that you can choose any angle you want for either end to sit at so it doesn’t need to be a straight line or at right angles. I now have an area where the animals are safe and I can enter and close the gate behind me, and most importantly my son is safe and cannot smooth the tarantula when daddy is not looking.
A godsend for us. Easy to fit and solid.
Bought this to divide our kitchen and really helped keep our new puppy under control. Delivered quick and a good sturdy gate, easy to put together.
Bare in mind that if you follow the instructions this shouldn’t be put up with any section straight. It gets some strength from its shape as in the picture. I’m sure it would work straight but maybe a bit more wobbly then.

The gate comes with easy fitting instructions. There are barely any assembly involved in it; assembly, width adjustment and installation took me just over 30 minutes. The result is an easy to use gate that looks good and most importantly is sturdy enough to keep a baby or toddler where you want them (in my case out of my kitchen, in the living room).
One of the things I didn’t realise, and I’m most happy about, is that you can easily remove and reinstall the entire gate whenever you want by clicking it in and out from the wall attachments. It took me a minute to do.

Flexible design for awkward spaces
This gate was a lifesaver for us – we have a particularly strange layout for our top step of our staircase and the Configure gate was a perfect fit. We thought we were going to have to resort to asking a carpenter to add a wooden baton to one side of our top step, but the Configure made this unnecessary. Although the hinges and brackets are plastic, which means the gate does move a little if you shake it, it definitely feels sturdy enough. We put screws in every screw position, although I believe the gate was only supplied with 8 screws.
Do agree with other reviewers that the instructions are a bit lacking. We found it easier to build ourselves without trying to follow the confusing pictures.
Great little purchase
So I got this one with amazon warehouse in a very good condition and It was actually in perfect order…nothing missing and all very clean and looked as though the person before opened it and closed it straight up. Fitted to the wall very well, very easy to put together and a very nice item. Though I feel like the middle section where the gate is, could be more secure using braces on the top or on the floor has it does wobble a little.

Excellent - effective and looks grea
This BabyDan gate is is lightweight so it is easy to manoeuvre and set up as well as being secure. The gate is easy for an adult to open yet difficult (as you would expect) for a child to open. I particularly like the fact that the handle is the same colour as the gate so doednt grab the attention of our daughter. The colour of this gate means that it is modern and doesn’t stand out as a ‘baby gate’ like white ones do. We will keep ours up for a long time, it already feels part of the home.

Well worth the higher price
Great, you can find a gate much cheaper, but they are well put together and so easy to shape and/or extend to fit the gap you want cover. This is our second like this, used to protect a wood burning stove (with the help of a couple of the 30cm extensions)

Good design almos
Really like this. I have it around the front door with an extension (prob didn’t need extension but it helped) to stop puppy running into the street. Hate the opener though. Pain on the fingers.
I purchased this gate in size “Large” to go around my log burner to stop my children going near. To Start with it didn’t arrive until 3 days after “expected delivery date”, but this wasn’t too much of a problem for me, just a little annoyance. When I received the guard the box was open at the top. Whether that was from customs (was being delivered from Germany) or not I’m not sure but it was originally stapled shut so I would think it would have to have been opened deliberately.
On opening the box everything was packaged nicely and although the instructions were a bit confusing at first, it was relatively easy to assemble. I guess it’s easy for me to say that as my husband assembled it, and he did say that a picture of how it went together would have just been easier!
The guard itself is great. it’s slightly taller than a normal stair gate but not by much. it’s easy for an adult to open and I’m hoping my 3 year old (who has mastered all of our stair gates) does not figure this one out!
Make sure you have a drill handy as you do need to screw it to the wall. It can seem a little slack when in place but we pulled it quite hard and there is no way our kids could pull that down.
It looks great as well as being functional.

Looks surprisingly good
So happy we found this, looking for a solution to split our living room in 2 to keep the dog from being boisterous with the baby. Black looks great, so much nicer than white, and it was the only one i could find of this size. Puts up with cats jumping on and over it too, Would recommend.
I fitted one to secure a decent sized play area. Once in place it’s survived my two year old so far when various other items haven’t! Bear in mind there is a fixed angle at each join so you can’t get in into every shape you want. The gate lock isn’t as sturdy as ‘mothercare’ branded single door gates so I am giving this unit 4 stars not 5. Remember you need to drill into and rawl plus your wall to take this gate. For plasterboard thin walls there are some better ways of doing this than the rawl plugs as supplied – the type you’d use to hold up heavy curtains for example .

Excellent… This has made life so much easier and safer as grandchildren are staying with us temporarily and we have a open plan living space..Fitting was a little awkward but once in place.. Perfect.. Would recommend this product for anyone with a large space of any kind that you wish to make safer for children or animals.. The only gripe I have with it, is that no one has mastered closing it properly with 1 hand..which can be awkward when you have an extremely large dog trying to get thru one side and you are carrying somebody or something but opening it is a doddle for us adults after a couple of days of practice but safety side is that we have a gate at the top of the stairs that can easily be opened by my 3 year old granddaughter which is good for her now as she is allowed upstairs but she can’t open this one..l hope this is helpful to the people out there, like myself, that weren’t aware you could get such versatile safety gates. I would have bought it a long time beforehand lol I would also like to add that I have solid wooden floors and there is obviously some movement in the whole structure when pushed and pulled by a 1 year old and as its metal I was aware that over time it would scratch the floor, so we put the sticky pads on certain points to stop this happening..

This is a very sturdy Hearth gate, we have it around our stove, so I wanted it to open enough to put logs into the stove, but not close enough to let a toddler reach through and get burned. It has passed both tests.It is a little tricky to understand the instructions but,study the pictures, yes it’s that kind….. make sure you have them all facing the correct way, up or down, the gate will give you a clue, which is probably a good piece to start with.
as it has to be positioned correctly. I would recommend at least two people to fit it together or a lot more if they don’t read or even look at the pictures, yep, I am speaking from experience, but having said that we got there.
This guard could be used outside too, such as pets or the barby, then you could have loads of people arguing about which way is up.
It’s not clearly called out on the Amazon description, but it is very clear on the box – should be 75cm away from heat source. Which is quite an important nugget of information when working out what size you need.
I’ve had to order a couple of 33cm extension pieces to keep it a safe distance back from the wood burner.
That aside, it’s every solid when the corner pieces are locked in it feels just as strong as the fixed pieces. Quick release/connection from/to wall too, which I child wouldn’t be able to work out.
Being able to add pieces on makes this very adaptable.
Highly recommended security gates
Excellent product and very easy to install. In our case it was exit to the garden. But the door lock is not flowless, some room is for improvement there. But nevertheless highly recommended.
great for protecting a log burne
purchased to stop our daughter from touching our log burner and has done the job perfectly. Its much less unsightly than a cage and also provides easy access to the burner for adding wood as it has a gate. I would say that make sure you measure adequately as we had to purchase an extra panel which was quite pricey as there was not enough of a gap between the guard and the burner and the bars may get hot.
Brilliant piece of kit. We use it for our stairs in our holiday rental, which have no obvious way of fitting a stairgate. When not needed it can’t be folded together, but has to lie completely flat somewhere or put behind something for storage. But all that is left on the wall is a flat coloured bracket (colour of your gate) – perfect for our holiday rental home when not needed. It also has extension options. So for example downstairs we added on a mini-20cm extension. Door can fit anywhere in the combination. The brackets are flexible, making fitting easy and the wall bracket holes have allowance for a screw that might end up being slightly too high or low.
Only downside are the rubbish, pale instructions, so that lost the final star for me. So here are a few tips:
When you open your box you will find: Your gate; 3 loose bars; 2 side pieces connected with the 4th bar (no it is not missing!); 4 finishing tops, 2 end wall brackets.
First you need to work out how to separate the two side pieces. Take hold of the middle connecting bar and pull upwards into / towards the cone shaped section which releases the bottom of the bar just enough to slip it out of its holding base. That’s it!
To connect the gate & side pieces together. Line up the two pieces so the top and bottom of your gate and side section fall flush on each other. At the top is the cone shaped section, the bottom a flat section. When the fittings are flush, insert your bar into the cone section first adding pressure to it, pulling in an upward direction which lifts the bar just enough to fit into the bottom section. The end sections are finished off in the same way but make sure you put the wall bracket connector onto it first, before inserting the bar.
Well worth the money. Comes in all sizes and flexible with available extensions. There is no limit to where these could be used around the house.

Gate is fab. I’m using it to divide two rooms. Only down side was putting it together as the two end pieces had been stuck together which was a job to get them apart. Other than that can’t fault the gate at all.
Great product, terrible instructions!
Very well made and looks good. Easily spans a large gap and secures to the wall very well. As others have said, the instructions are absolutely woeful. Once I realised the egg shaped bits have springs in them and you just need a bit of brute force to get the poles in it went together easily.
It’s all a bit trial and error but even with a couple of initial “What the hell is that?!” it only took about 30 minutes to have it assembled and mounted to the wall.

Sold as new but arrived clearly used. Other than that, best child gate on the market.
This product was sold as ‘new’, however, it arrived part-assembled and looking slightly worn. The pictures and video description indicate you can assemble the gate with relative ease. However you need to apply quite a decent amount of force to ‘slot’ all sections together. Other than not being ‘new’ on arrival, the gate is very sturdy and probably the best on the market.

Exactly what i needed. Able to use it without fixing to wall. Used to keep my pugs in the kitchen of my static caravan through the night, stop them running riot in the living room area.
Fab product, expensive, but it is solid. I decided to go for this style fire guard rather than the flimsy chicken wire style as it is much nicer to look at in my newly decorated living room. The instructions are very hard to follow, but I managed to figure out how to put it together myself. I purchased 3 separate pieces to make it fit around my hearth. The fittings it comes with are fab, very easy to attach and secure. I am very happy with my purchase and also with the speed of delivery.
Great purchase
Bought this guard for my 10 week old puppy to divide the kitchen from the living room where I have double doors. This fits well, was easy to assemble and is sturdy. Very pleased as o bought it from the ‘bargain basement’ section as a box which had been opened so got it at a reduced price.
Would reccomend
Well made. Good value. I added in a few smaller sections for a perfect fit. It sits about 60cm from the front of the wood burner and doesnt get as hot as a radiator, meaning it doesn’t take over the space too much.
Terrific system for us
Terrific system for us. We and Grandparents and wanted a system that would work at the bottom of our stairs (we are open plan) and by the kitchen to stop little people disturbing cats and protecting them from hot items. We didn’t fix to wall and they (we bought 2) worked really well for us. Our 11month walking grandson who is extremely strong failed to pull them over or get passed. Really pleased with the flexibility too. We will be able to use them outside in the summer to stop the little ones falling down the stairs from our deck.
Wasn't happy to have something so big in the lounge
Bought this to stop my child crawling to the fire when we had it lit. Wasn’t happy to have something so big in the lounge, but actually it doesn’t look too bad. It’s really sturdy, and despite the kids pulling on it, it hasn’t been pulled down yet. Would definite recommend it to product kids from a fire, lad we bought this instead of a less sturdy one

Huge guard, but not as rigid as you would like
This gate is really good, simple mechanism for my wife with tendinitis, and very low cross bar means no trips. The wall attachments are simple to use and the gate is pretty robust. It’s not been full toddlered yet, but given the massive size there is play in it, not sure how manufacturer could possibly do it any other way though, but worth being aware this is not going to be rigid like your stair gate is.
Great product, assembly instructions very poor!
This is a good product overall but instructions are very lacking, I am used to assembling this kind of thing and found the instructions were not clear and frankly useless, they are also printed so small that they are not easily seen even if they did make sense. It takes a reasonable amount of brute strength to assemble this product and once assembled it works very well but it took two of us a good 20 minutes to put it together and it really only comes in 3 parts so should take no where near that long. Once done it is a great product and was delivered promptly, it functions well and I would recommend it however would be worth manufacturers taking time to out together some decent instructions!

I used this with two extensions for a wood burning stove it fits lovely, though is not easy to put together. the instructions are rubbish but you can work it out from the pictures, but it is physically quite hard to fit together I am good at “flatpacks” but had to get some muscle to help with this
Simple & effective!
Nice and simple to install, used to protect a fire place. Purchased another wall bracket kit so it can be removed from the fire in the summer, and easily fitted to stop a young one going outside when the patio doors are open!

Puchased to ensure 2 dogs could be contained within an open plan kitchen. Good size and flexibility, I only need to use 4 of the 5 panels but was easily secured to the wall with supplied fittings. So far, so good for containing the dogs as whilst I have only used on an ad-hoc basis as opposed to extended periods, it has worked as expected. The gate is solid and at a height which is convenient as high enough that the dogs have not attempted to climb but can be stepped over if you want to avoid opening (to avoid dogs running through). The colour was convenient and better than a white gate (generally available) would look.

Really great. But no instructions were included so it took some ingenuity in figuring out how the latch on gate and attachments to walls worked. It’s not exactly a one handed manoeuvre getting the gate off from the wall but overall it works well and feels very sturdy, quality and well made.
Ich habe das Baby Dan Gitter gekauft, weil ich das System schon kannte.
Was klar fr dieses Gitter spricht, ist, dass die Eckpunkte ber Verzahnungen fix miteinander verbunden sind, und sich die Teile gegenseitig stabilisieren und absttzen.
Wenn mal ein Ruck ins Gitter kommt, verschieben sich somit die Verbindungspunkte nicht, und die Krfte werden ber die Wandbefestigungen abgeleitet.
Es gibt Mitbewerber, wo die Gitter zwar optisch und haptisch schner aussehen, aber im Detail mechanisch einfach schwcher ausgefhrt sind.
Das Gitter liegt direkt am Boden auf. Es gibt keine Sockelplatten, die zu einem Spalt unter dem Gitter fhren. Kinderhnde unterm Gitter sind somit ausgeschlossen.
Das Gitter selbst ist wei lackiert, die Verbindungselemente sind in grau gehalten.
Der Aufbau geht sehr leicht von der Hand. Gitter u-frmig positioniert (223cm ist die Lnge, die das Gitter in U-Form hat), die mitgelieferten Stbe in die federgelagert Aufnahme hinein drcken, unten einschnappen lassen, und das Ding steht.
Links und rechts werden auf die Stbe die Befestigungsplatten aufgeschoben, die Stbe dann eingerastet.
Die Mauerbefestiungen sind schnell montiert, die Befestigungsplatten am Gitter werden einfach hinein geschoben, eingerastet und das Gitter steht.
Worauf man aufpassen muss, ist das Ausmessen. Das Gitter hat ine maximale Spannweite von 223cm (Wand zu Wand) und besteht aus 3 Teilen mit fixer Lnge. Wenn man es krzer braucht, wird das ausschlielich ber den Grad der Abwinkelung der Teile zueinander geregelt. Bereiche herausnehmen usw. geht technisch nicht.
Das nur als Hinweis fr jene, denen das Gitter pltzlich “zu kurz” wurde.
Zur Tre ist noch festzustellen, dass sie sich von einem Erwachsenen mit einer Hand ffnen lsst.
Der Mechanismus ist “ziehen – heben – ffnen”…. aber bis ein Kind da drauf kommt, ist es, hoffentlich, schon so alt, dass man das Gitter nichtmehr unbedingt braucht.

exactly what I needed, covered a 1.8m opening between my lounge and kitchen now the little one cant escape.
Only issue was the instructions are very poor and the pictures dont make much sense. I figured it out on my own after 10 minutes though so no problems

Excellent product, used in front of a wood burner. Bars do not get hot & looks very in keeping with 200 year old cottage. Easy to remove/place when baby grandson visits.
Excellent gate. Used it with some extra gate sections to wall off a large section of room.
Easy to assemble, very solid, well made, and also has a quick release if you need to take it down temporarily.
It also looks good, which is important if you’re leaving it up for a few years!
