The arms are a little on the thin side, but still a good quality jacket.

Really pleased with this top. It’s really light weight, and keeps you warm enough without having to wear a coat or jacket. Top quality.

Really comfortable and warming on central core. Not to warm on arms and side panels allow some cooling. Great in cooler temps and as a layer.
    High quality for me

Really nice top. I usually wear it as a mid layer and take my coat off when it gets to warm. It’s very comfortable and feels like a good quality jacket. Very pleased with it and I’m tempted to find another in a different colou

Tappered fit and very stylish, a warm jacket for cold frosty days but isn’t waterproof, not that it’s described as waterproof. It has quite a long body and will hang below the waist and cover your behind. Very happy with my purchase.

Arrived quickly. Well finished and good quality.
I bought the L size, which fits me snugly albeit the arms are a smidgen too long, however you could simply double-over the cuffs or simply pull them down over the backs of your hands for extra warmth as I do. Maybe I’m a bit of a Hobbit size? That said I’m well pleased with the light and warm body part which is also drizzle proof. Pity there’s no inside pocket for mobile etc.
It’s now my go-to apparel for dog walking/shopping/pub etc. Great now for the N.East autumn and will be ideal as an under-layer in the coming winter.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLove it! I’m 5’8″, 42″ chest and went for a medium and it fits perfectly snugg. I have tried on a large which is normally my size, but it was to big and long.

It’s a bit of an exaggeration saying it’s ‘super warm’, but it’s a nice base layer on colder days.

What I like about the current Berghaus jackets (and to be fair the last couple of seasons’ of their jackets) is that they fit my body type really well. This particular design keeps it simple and has a non-shiny effect to the insulated section – which I prefer as I personally think the shiny jackets you see everywhere look a bit questionable. There is a nice ribbed fabric that makes up the sleeves and the upper neck section which is cut in an angled panel which accentuates the overall frame of the torso and gives you an overall fitted shape that works nicely.

As they class it as a ‘hybrid’, it is intended not as a single winter jacket, but something that could be worn in spring and autumn, or as an underlayer in the colder months as it is not bulky and holds its shape close to the body. I have been a fan of this type of jacket for a few years as I am relatively hot-blooded anyway so I can perhaps get a bit more use out of it during the year than the average person.

If you don’t like ‘fitted’ clothing then this might not be your cup of tea, but personally, I really like it and am already wearing the heck out of it.

Wow, wow and WOW! This, by far the best jacket my hubby has owned!

Update: Purchased end of Jan 2020 and still looking like new, hubby loves this jacket and wears most times, except when bitterly cold, been a fantastic purchase.

Worn for the 1st time 2nd Feb 2020, this February being noticeably a cold month (& wet), yet, initially hubby kept having to check that he indeed was wearing a jacket, as kept saying how he was so snuggly warm, when walking our four legged friend.

This Berghaus Hottar Hybrid Jacket has been well worth the asking price, this coming from a miser at heart, lol, yes, highly recommended, a lovely, simple, incredibly stylish and selfishly fashionable Jacket, that is without a doubt worth every penny.

My partner liked the look of this jacket from Berghaus, he sees it as a gilet with arms – the body is warm and insulated but the fabric on the arms is not as warm or wind proof as he would like. For this reason it is ideal for cooler spring or autumn days. No inner pocket for phone so this is annoying. The sizing is not very generous so if you are in between go up a size. A nice, lightweight jacket that looks very stylish.

The Berghaus jacket oozes quality, looks good and is very well made. It feels light and very comfortable and keeps you warm either as a top or mid-layer. If you don’t particularly feel the cold then it may be a bit warm for the spring or summer. Recommended

    Pros
Very well made with quality materials and excellent zip.
Light and easy to pack, but as warm as a large bulky fleece.
    Nice design and looks good.
Excellent light weight combination with a waterproof shell jacket.

    Cons
Would have been nice to have thumb holes in the sleeves to help keep the hand warm.
May be a bit too warm in the Spring and Summer.

    Hints and tips
I usually wear large jackets of this type but for a fitted look I needed a medium size.

A perfect jacket for milder winter days, or for the transitioning seasons of autumn and spring.

It looks pretty smart with its warm but not too bulky padded body section complimented by fabric sleeves. Wouldn’t look out of place up a hill, or in the city.

We received a large which fits about a 40-42 inch chest.

I really like this. Its a well made jacket that is true to size with some forgiveness.

The main body of the jacket is a padded insulated area that is very effective at keeping you warm.

The sleeves are slimmer and made from a more standard thinner material and what this does it keeps your core warm, arms protectected whilst still giving your arms freedom of movement.

Great for being out with the kids or dog etc

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersStylish, yet totally practical, this is absolutely worth every penny — 5 Stars

I love the attention to detail on this jacket, and the cut is perfect for my body shape which is broad at the shoulders but narrow at the hips. The side pockets are a generous size, but the zips fit flush to conceal them and, when fully closed, the front zip keeps the neck-line nice and high. It’s extremely well-made and windproof: The front zip has an inner lining, and the stretchy-base, sleeves, and neck hug the body. The body and sleeve lengths are generous too; the jacket fits low over the hips, doesn’t ride-up, and caused no static build-up.

As someone who spends a lot of time at the coast, this jacket offers the perfect combination of being extremely warm, but also very light. Even with temperatures struggling to reach 5C, the padded body (which isn’t bulky) kept my torso toasty-warm, while the lighter, flexible material of the sleeves and side-panels allowed virtually unrestricted movement.

Brilliant at doing its job, it also looks great – A truly outstanding piece of design.

The first thing that strikes you is how incredibly light this jacket is. It is as light as most shirts, making you wonder how it could possibly provide any insulation. Then you put it on and it becomes clear that this is a very well designed jacket indeed. It holds in heat impressively yet weighs so little and can be folded up into a very compact little bundle. It isn’t the cheapest jacket in the world, but that’s because it is clearly of unusually high quality. It is perfect for hiking, camping and general outdoor undertakings.

The jacket is true to size and fits well. Offers flexibility in how you can wear it both on its own or under another coat. It feels thin but well padded so should insulate well.
