Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe hedge cutter does exactly what I need, the battery lasts very well, I get tired before it does! Its not too heavy for me as a small elderly woman, it’s much quieter than expected, very happy, Definitely value for money so far.

This is great – and I mean this as a positive – for a woman who is not tall and does not have strong core muscles! So light and easy to use – thanks Bosch.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLight and easy to handle at various angles. Very safe design. Cuts neatly without snagging at all. Battery lasted throughout over an hour’s work (not constantly cutting). Perfect for my modest garden and a vast improvement on my previous (much older) model.

This battery operated machine is more powerful than others I have tried but is not as heavy as my mains version so is easier to use on ladders or in tight spaces.

I have a long beech hedge and a very long and tall briar rose hedge and the trimmer has cut them both perfectly. Maybe the battery mich last a bit longe

I’m getting on a bit and found them easy to use and not too heavy. They did the job well and made short work of my front hedge – I had plenty of energy left to sweep up the clippings! 🙂 Good to know that the battery can be used on other items – if I choose to buy something else in the range.

Very light in the hand and I find it very useful for those quick little jobs round the garden. The battery seems to last for a long time ( pity the second battery was not on offer in March) As I have a petrol hedge trimmer for the longer hedge jobs I find this very useful for those spur of the moment jobs.

Easy to use hedge trimmer, easy to handle once you get the knack of the switches, worked like a charm on our hedge and made light work of even thicker branches around 1cm thick. Works a treat! Remember to oil / clean the blades though!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMuch better than my old Bosch hedge cutters, they go through the hedge with ease. Good battery life, and took advantage of the offer at the time to send off to the manufacturer for a free additional battery that came a few weeks later, excellent. Thoroughly recommend.

I’m in my 70’s and I love using this around my garden. Simple to use and charges with its own electric charging dock. It’s battery just pulls out for safety too!
WD spray oil on blades makes it even better to use. Prunes and shapes all the messy garden stuff – brilliant.

The trimmer has good cutting power and the battery lasts for a long enough time to trim 5 large bushes.

The blade is showing some premature wear on some of the teeth (only used it twice). The lower blade seems to be catching on the upper in some places. No excessive noise so maybe it’s just bedding in.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI like the idea of three safety switches rather than one because, when you change hands or hand position the option of a switch in a different position is a great help. Although this machine cuts well and does a good job it so nice and light to use.

Having had a wired electric hedge cutter (and cut the cord!) and a petrol driven one, this does a first class job with no worries about starting the machine or cutting wires. Great product!

Perfect gardening too. Love that this comes with battery and proper charging unit. Lightweight and easy to use. Pretty tough for a light handheld one

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have a very mature garden and I’m not a natural gardener which means things can get a little out of control, especially with hedges and bushes. I wanted something that meant I could quickly trim an area without changing clothes, checking I have sufficient fuel, priming the motor, finding my ear defenders, starting the engine and, after all is done, showering and changing clothes again because everything reeked of two stroke smoke. And my arm ached from the weight.

In other words, I have a spare five minutes, I’ll do something practical.

As I already had several Bosch cordless power tools, this seemed to make sense as it had the same battery type.

Anyway, it’s just arrived, I slotted in one of my already charged batteries, went outside, quickly trimmed a box bush by a window and came back in to finish my cuppa before it cooled too much. Perfect and exactly what I was looking for! Plus, of course, much lighter than my petrol hedge-trimmer.

Next up will be reviewing the little Bosch cordless chainsaw I bought for exactly the same reasons!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI have always cut our ( small leaf) box hedge the traditional way using hand shears ( which takes time!) and did not want to purchase an electric powered hedge trimmer for safety reasons. I purchased this Bosch battery trimmer based upon some other reviews and found it really easy to use. It is lightweight and very well made and I was actually quite impressed with the overall finish I made to the hedge ( lovely straight lines ) which had not been cut since last Autumn. I am a reasonably fit 72 year old and am genuinely pleased with this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLovely and light trimmer but only really ideal for lighter trimming of hedges and bushes. Cannot see how this could cut a 20mm branch (so will need my mains powered on for that). It struggles with branches on 10-12mm hence the 4 stars.

However for standard, less bushy hedges, works like a dream. Nice long battery life too.

Going for brands like Bosch always tends to lead to reassurance of quality. And this cordless trimmer does not disappoint. Easy to set up and easy to use.
Cut through holly hedges and ivy well. And it’s so lightweight that it’s not tiring to use.
Great value as came with battery and charger included- just a shame my Makita batteries don’t fi

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have plenty of hedge to keep tidy and for years have used petrol cutters. These aren’t miracle workers but if you have a well kept hedge these will be adequate to maintain it. Lighweight and easy to handle they encourage me to maintain the hedge regularly, as it’s a lot easier work than letting it grow and getting the heavier petrol ones out.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe Hedge-cutter is light, easy to use, and has very good teeth. I have used it to cut around 20 yards of hedge, one side only, and clear paths with thick weeds (such as cow parsley and teasles) growing through. I have also used it as a rough grass and weeds cutter taking swathes out of what should be a wildflower meadow, but is full of hogweed and dock… I charged the battery pack the day it arrived, and I have not yet re-charged it since… and I have used it to do all that work, over two days!!!
Thanks to Mr. Foxi’s review, I too got “can of STIHL Superclean which is expensive but specifically made for hedge trimmers. It’s a resin solvent with lubricant”. It came from Northumbrian Garden Machinery, Hedgeley Services Powburn near Alnwick. I treated it before and after use, and it is excellent stuff, very well worth it. I am convinced that using Superclean facilitates and perhaps improves the cutter. I am so pleased that I can use the cutter so easily.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI loathed cutting the hedges & bushes! The blades of my plug-in couldn’t cope with thicker branches which meant starting & stopping, using secateurs, then restarting, whilst always watching out for the cable. It would get tangled in branches which made the likelihood of accidentally cutting it, even greater. So, I searched for something better, battery powered, and able to cope with slightly thicker branches.
This is the one I chose and what a brilliant machine! The dreaded chore has become a genuine pleasure, so much so, my son bought one and agrees wholeheartedly. The problem now is, judging when to stop! I can fill my bin in less than 20 minutes of fun – so I haven’t had a battery die on me yet.
It’s s so lightweight and manoeuvrable and no cable to cut! I can stand on ladders and not worry about being dragged off when the cable gets fouled (and I fell off), or over balancing. The thicker branches are no longer a problem as the top 10cm of the blade have a different set of teeth and just cut through everything with a bit of patience and ingenuity. Really thick branches 2+cm have to be cut with secateurs, naturally, but the start-stop of previous years has ended. So have stoppages caused by jamming. The blades have not jammed – so far.
      I thoroughly recommend this machine.
