It has a lovely soft start function. It was hard to find a speed variable grinder at the price, and my old speed variable one was getting choppy at maintaining speed. This new one holds the speed very smoothly.

First of all, I got this for 60 as there was 40% discount and an additional 10 voucher at time of writing, considering most comparable no-brand tools are 40 it was a pretty easy purchase compared to full price.

I’ve been using grinders for automotive repair/restoration sheet metal, so my tools get a lot of heavy use, this was bought to replace an off brand 1200w grinder that had served me well as well as an old makita grinder.

      Pros:
The most noticable features of the grinder are that it’s reasonably lightweight and narrow bodied, making gripping the tool very comfortable for prolonged use, decent length power cord means you’re not covering plug sockets with dust.

One of the best features however is in the motor – it has a soft ramp-up so when turning the grinder on does not kick, the motor vibration is also much lower than in my previous tools.

Variable speed is a must for me as I alternate between cutting, flap wheels and wire brushes.
I was aprehensive about the guard system, but having used it now prefer it to a traditional clamp as there’s no way for it to come loose and it’s very quick to adjust.

      Cons:
The only drawback is at 900w coming from 1200w it feels slightly less torquey, however the much smaller size and weight make up for this easily.

Need to use grinders for various jobs. I have different ones. I bought it to keep in my workshop, but ended up taking it to work – a lot. Does not have a case though. This is nice to use, better than all the rest, not too noisy under load. Lighter vibration than some and good weight. I prefer cable machines to battery because they seem to have more clout. Although both options are great if you use them enough.

Have had cheaper Angle Grinders that didn’t stand the pace or live up to the standard of this one. Well built, easy to handle in confined spaces, powerful motor. Does what it’s made to do.Is living up to its documented claims. Recommend.

OK a bit pricy, but so hard to get a speed adjustable angle grinder for using with flap discs and clearing up oak barrels. Glad I bought.

      Quality product
      Plenty of power
Love the vairable speed control for tile cutting and grinding.
Nice balance in the hand and the std slide on off switch is simple but very affective in the working environment.
Not the cheapest but I was happy to pay the extra to obtain a good quality vairable speed grinder with serious power to get the job done without braking down.

Used to own a bosch vairable speed grinder about 15 years ago when it was stolen from my shed. I was gutted as it was my go to tool.
Purchased a number of cheep ones that were not good to say the least. Glad to be back with a quality product from bosch.
