The item arrived earlier than expected and it was well packed, the sound quality is a little poor but adjusting the sound mode does improve this

Lovely little machine. Only fault is that the instruction leaflet doesn’t give you enough information on how to play CDs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIts a nice stereo, played a CD on it and tuned in radio, I do not have any tapes, I tried the usb and it all works perfectly, I gave 4 stars for value for money because I have had stereos cheaper in the past and just as good.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI was so excited to order this portable cd and cassette player and relive my youth as I still have all my CD’s and Cassettes in my old bedroom at my parents house. I just never had the heart to part ways with them and still to this day with regards to music there is no better feeling then opening a CD case for the first time and physically holding the CD in your hand and reading the sleeve with all the lyrics and a personal message from the artist. Kids nowadays will never know the feeling!!

I collected my CD’s and cassette from my parents house and as soon as the stereo player arrived I couldn’t wait to use it. It really did take me back to my youth and I’m absolutely delighted with it and love carrying it around the house and garden and playing my music just like I used to do with my stereo in my teens.

The stereo is compact and lightweight and looks very modern and sleek with its black colour yet still have a retro feel to it.

Apart from the two main features I ordered it which were the CD and cassette element it also has a built in DAB, radio tuner so you have access to a large selection of radio stations which I love as sometimes it’s nice to just to have the radio playing in the background as I’m doing chores around the house.

It also has USB flash drive so you can play your music through that or connect your MP3 player, speaker or other devices to the AUX IN.

There is also a port for headphones too which is nice when you just want to be left alone to listen to your music/radio.

It has a dual alarm feature too which is handy to have.

It’s main powered but also can be powered via batteries.

A remote control is included too which is great as I don’t remember my old stereo including one. It has a good range on it and saves me having to get up if I need to change the radio station or skip to the next song on my CD.

In terms of sound quality this stereo is excellent and the sound is crisp and clear.

Overall I’m absolutely delighted with this stereo player, it’s excellent value for money at 84.95 and just takes me back down memory lane. It would definitely be a great gift for someone especially if they still have their CD’s/cassettes lying around in a loft/attic somewhere. Would definitely recommend 100% and well worth 5 stars

Pretty retro radio player which can play CDs too. It is a DAB radio so you have access to quite a few stations. The radio player can play cassettes too if you’re still got some lying around and can be used plugged in or battery powered. Lightweight radio player so easy to carry around. Definitely recommend it, bit of nostalgia.

Since being a teenager, I loved dancing around while listening to music and completing my daily chores. Life without music, can’t even imagine how boring it would be.
The portable stereo is lightweight, compact and comes with DAB, built-in radio, CD player, and a cassette player too. I used to own a similar one back in the day but then they stopped making these.
Now me and my son both listen to my old tapes and CDs and enjoy our time together.
The stereo is both mains-powered and battery-powered.
Unlike the older models, it has a USB port and an aux-in port for speakers, or other devices, and another port for attaching my headphones
It can set 2 alarms with the dual alarm clock and the long antenna can catch signals easily.
The remote control gives me a hands-free operation. The range is good and I can change songs without getting up.
Overall, the sound quality is really good, crisp, clear, and loud. Additionally, it has different equalizer options e.g Pop, Jazz, Classic, Flat, or Rock and I can change the beat according to my current mood.
Brace yourself as you take a trip down memory lane with this stereo.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis looks just like the portable stereo I had when I was a teenager, Most young people these days wouldn’t know what a compact disc is, let alone a CASSETTE… Pull out your old Sash cassettes and dig out your 90’s “Now that’s what I call music” CD’s folks!

While this did take me back a bit down memory lane, the whole reason I wanted this was for its DAB+ capabilities. – My area has massively struggled with FM signal since the local college got built years back, you cannot get any radio stations clearly. DAB on the other hand, does use different frequencies and I can get some services to work such as The Hits, Absolute Rock, Hallam FM, Capital among some others. Not all of the local channels are found and the signal is still only around 25% on the stereos signal strength indicator.

Due to the signal issues in my area and despite being happy with the stations I can receive, I decided to put in some batteries and take it to one of the bike trails I use, as it’s in the open and not blocked by any of the large buildings in my area. I have to say that I never knew how many DAB+ stations there were. The last time I listened to DAB stations it was in my old mans car, maybe around 2010 and it’s clear to see that the service has kept growing more and more.

The stereo as a whole functions nicely considering its size and the speakers, being much more modern than my last portable boombox are louder and better quality than I expected them to be. The CD player still has that annoying laser motor sound there but not as loud as older systems.

    Moving onto the newer features;

    – This is equipped with auxiliary so that you can use it as a speaker on other devices like laptops and mobile phones(With an adapter, of course because 3.5mm ports seem to be a thing of the past on phones.) The MP3 sound quality is good not exceptional but considering the size of the stereo, I think it does a great job.

    – It has USB stick compatibility so that you can also play MP3 files using a flash drive. Again the sound quality is good, baring in mind you can also save higher sample rate audio to MP3 format so that you aren’t restricted to whatever kbps bitrate the transmitter and receiver for FM are using.

    – The antenna is pretty long when fully extended which is great considering the lack of reception in my area. It definitely helps with signal on some stations.

All in all I’m happy with this, it may seem like something that isn’t necessary but being able to just press power and listen immediately is a huge good to have. I wish I was able to get more stations but this is an ongoing issue with my area so i I cannot fault the stereo for this. Would recommend, especially to the older generation that have grown to love the little radio they have in the corner of their kitchen. This would make an excellent gift for them, adding a little modern into something they are familiar with. Maybe throw in a collection of their favorite songs on a USB stick. They will love it.
