I needed a 110V xfmr for my workshop as I’d bought a 110v chain mortiser from Japan. Not wanting to spend an absolute fortune this fell into my basket and I have to say, it’s a very good bit of kit for the money.

First off, it’s designed to be used on portable equipment on site. Site gear has to be 110V in most cases and this covers that requirement.

It’s robustly made and the case is solid and impact resistant. Fitted with standard 110V ceeform plugs and a normal UK 220v plug on the incommer.

I used this quite hard cutting mortices in large oak beams and there were no trips or overheating. Overall, a good bit of kit.

Does what I need it to do and the build quality is very good. It should last a long time.

    Decent Transformer for the price.
Does what it was bought for.
    Little on heavy side.
    But feels a solid unit.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery good does it’s job just too heavy if plumber joiner needing to use in a property that’s furnished with hard floors or carpets as the weight will no doubt damage the floor of dropped or dragged. I bought it for use 110v cut off saw in the coming spring time

The transformer is a heavy weight! At 16kg you can build your biceps but it is well built with certification and a thermal cutout. I ran a 1.5kW mitre saw with absolutely no peoblems. I am sure you can run another power tool of the same rating and it would still work fine.

Purchased to power a 110v large Mitre Saw which it does without a problem, only had one device plugged in so can’t say how well this performs at high power levels ( i.e. Two devices running at once ) but its a solid bit of reliable kit for the price.

Great bit of kit. I have a lot of 110v tools and unlike 240v you do not need to worry as much. A lot safer to use.
