Well worth spending the money over the cheaper options, can’t beat the compact form factor and of course it’s just a well made dream to work with

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDisappointed with what I received, just came in a box with nothing other than the drill. Not even a case. I got a refund no problem though.

After doing some research, I found this drill is one of the best on the market but it is a little expensive for what it is and it needs to clearly state that a battery ISN’T included so be aware

So far I’ve driven a 21mm orga bit through a 7″ gate post and broken up old and new concrete and it has impressed me both times. I’ve yet to drill into stone but I have faith in this tool. I’m a happy chappy

This is for the bare tool only and comes in a box, there is a much better deal available through a trade counter for the impact, drill, SDS, torch, 3 batteries and 2 boxes

Hubby was looking for just the bare unit and this was the cheapest place he could find. He is delighted with it and as a joiner by trade it is another tool to his collection.

The front part of the unit is coloured to look like it is a metal housing, but its really plastic.
Very underhanded of DeWalt as the front housing of some of their other drills is really metal.

I bought this for an install where we were drilling into Park Hill in sheffield all day… it handled that job with ease with only one battery change. I can see this becoming a regularly used piece of kit on every job.

I cant say ive used the hammer (only settings) yet and probably wont.

Awesome bit of kit, did some careful research, looked at the cheaper 253, lots of complaints about lack of punch and very battery hungry, also looked at the bigger 283, just too damn heavy and not much good with anything less than a 6.0amp battery. The 273N being brushless seems to go most of a day with heavy use on a 4.0amp battery. Have used it in anger once of twice, put a 1m long 25mm masonry bit through tough bricks and it didn’t slip a beat.

Quite a powerful tool, really impressed. I’ve used this drilling holes through block, chipping off plaster and drilling through metal. Honestly thought it wouldn’t be as good! Got it at a good price also. The one thing I wasn’t too happy about was that there’s no markings on the depth gauge, it’s just a plain metal rod but I’ll get over that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful tool.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersVery effective unit. I’m currently using the hammer-only setting to chisel off concrete render from my stone cottage walls. This thing is powerful enough to churn through it with ease.

One thing I would like is a speed limiter. The trigger is used to control the speed, and it’s quite easy to overpower by accidentally squeezing the trigger too much. Having a 1/2/3 speed setting, with trigger variability within those settings, would be even better.

Quite impressed with battery life so far.

Dewalt drills have earned a good reputation, especially with the XR ever expanding range of cordless tools. I prefer the 5AH LI battery packs, and this SDS+ gives good battery life with good heavy duty performance.

Trade user, great for mobility around the job, 4Ah batt providing good time period before recharge although I haven’t needed to used continuously for more than 30 mins in one go. Very happy with product.

Brilliant bit of kit tough and flys through anything thought it might drain smaller batteries (ive got 2ah ones) I’m a maintenance electrician as opposed to being in construction but still use it three times a week to drill into concrete and brick anything from once to 30 holes. does the job no dramas.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’m not a professional but drill a lot, and have been impressed with the power with which this drill does concrete walls and floors. Maybe its because this is my first SDS, but its night and day over anything i have used before and i use the batteries I already have.

Great so far. I’m an electrician and in the past few days I’ve used this drill for all kinds of drilling and small chase runs. It’s had no problem at all taking a beating from the word go. I hope it’s last the test of time.

Apostle best drill I have ever purchased. Work amazingly for what I use it for as a window installer. Use every day for the last couple off months and have love it as it is lightweight and can drill in to bick and concrete with ease. Highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersNot really put it to the test properly other than drilling a few wholes in sheer speed.. I thought the rotary may have been a bit faster. Hammer is superb on it.. batteries seem to last well in it.. not sure to try and core drill hole with it maybe 1-2inch should be fine anything bigger il just use my 240v SDS. Iv tried and tested many cordless power tools makita, Bosch do not compare. Although I do prefer Makita on 240v power tools

Amazing drill – was shocked at the price difference compared to let’s say screwfix. Saved about 150 by time I got batteries. Eligible for the 3 year warrenty too that was my worry when getting it as no one had mentioned it but it’s all good

Great light weight tool. I learnt the hard way -> whatever you do don’t give more than a hole to drill or a tile to remove. It will do tougher jobs but my first one broke quite quickly. I did replace it however as it is a fantastic light weight sds drill that i use all the time.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersBests SDS to date without a doubt. Brushless motor is built to last and the whole build quality is fantastic.

It will chew through concrete for hours without complaint unlike any other battery drill I’ve ever used.

It’s a beast that will last for years which I haven’t seen in a long, long time.

    Well done Dewalt.
