This is the third pair of these I have bought. They are very comfortable and reliable. I wear them every day
Very good for walking on hot pavements in cities in the summer as the soles are thick and protect you from the heat of the pavement
The velcro begins to get a bit unreliable after about five years of daily use outdoors so you relegate them to indoor use for a few more years and buy a new pair for outdoors which I have done here. Super.
They wash well when they get a bit smelly

Just purchased second pair of these for my husband. First pair is over ten tears old and still wearable but wanted a new pair for my husband to wear in hospital after hip replacement as safer than slippers. Extremely comfortable, lightweight and very durable as he lives in them all summer and they still look well.

These sandals are sturdy, comfortable for me (I am a wide fit), although I don’t think I’d want to trek too far in them over rough terrain.

Could actually walk around with no heel pain, makes a nice change. Wish they did shoes as can hardly wear sandals in the rain lol

I have had these sandals before and they served me well for many tracking and hiking walks over difficult ground. They eventually wore out so I’m hoping the new ones last as long.

Good quality well made, I wear daily. They can be a bit tight across toes and the Velcro is always first to wear out. I’ve had 6 pairs.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy old Rohan sandals had served me brilliantly at home and on my travels around the world for 8 years, but the footbed had worn almost totally hard and flat with no cushioning left. This meant that my knees complained bitterly on our recent walking holiday.
So what to replace them with?
After reading a lot of reviews and comparison sites, I narrowed it down to these ECCO Offroads and the similarly priced Merrell Kahuna Iii. I tried the Merrells on at my local Milletts, but found them rather narrow and with a worryingly thin sole. Furthermore, the ECCO sandals were available in half sizes, so I plumped for these here on Amazon.
Pleased to say that these are superb. the 11.5/46 is a perfect fit and the almost Doc Marten-level of bounciness in the soles is exactly what I wanted.
Now just need to book another holiday to put these really to the test but, so far, I absolutely love them!

Supremely comfortable and excellent arch suppo

Without a doubt, the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever worn. I wear sandals throughout the summer and have done so for many years and these are the best. Like walking on clouds of Memory foam, will be purchasing the same next year.

I’ve previously had a pair of ECCO sandals for about 10 years; I’m fairly confident these are of a similar quality & durability.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI’d seen so many positive reviews for this sandal, that I was sure I was going to love it when I ordered it, but I’m beginning to wonder if people who wrote these positive reviews actually wore the sandal for at least a mile of walking. I highly doubt it. The fit is good, my feet sit in them nicely, neither too loose nor tight, and this is likely what reviewers are positively commenting on. The problem, however, is that after walking a mile you begin to feel the rubbing points on the sandal due to protrusions inside the sandal created during their manufacture, and they badly rub above your big toe and the edge of your little toe. I have normally shaped feet (no bunions etc.) so it’s not due to my feet. Upon careful inspection, I noticed that the sandals have certain rough spots where the seams meet. On both sides near the top of my foot there is excessive rubbing and I found out after walking just 1 mile with the sandals it was extremely difficult to continue walking in them. Tightening them, or loosening them, did not help. I guarantee you will have blisters on your feet if you wear these for more than one mile of walking. This is an issue of poor manufacturing, and not a one-off defect; your feet will rub and burn on these internal protrusions of the sandal regardless of how you might try to reposition your foot in the sandal —it won’t help. These sandals are just plain uncomfortable. If you wear socks, you may have more success on longer distances, but why would you wear sandals with socks? I do not recommend these sandals.

Size is more accurate and light on foot. I never used this brand before one day I saw on YouTube and they explain people how they made the sandal. I like it I hope it will live long. Instead of buying cheap one I bought expensive. But I like it.

    Good points
great design, great fit, super comfortable and hard wearing.
    Less good points
Quite expensive for a sandal, design virtually unchanged over the last 7 years (thank goodness)
Given that this is my 3rd pair over the last 7 years , worn pretty intensively each summer, that works out at only 30 per year!

Hi,this is the second pair of sandals I have had from Echo , they are very well made they need to be as I do lots of walking here in Madeira where I live. I knocked a star off this pair as they have give me many abrasions on both feet, this didn’t happen on the last pair, I hope it will sort itself out in due course, this wouldn’t stop me buying another pair. The straps seem rougher on the underside compared to the first pair I bought.

Sandal heel is set higher than normal, other than that quality of product impressive. Sandals not cheap, ranging from 45 to 99 depending of colour / size combination? Impressed by Ecco size guide which was very accurate, I would normal have to take a size 12 or even a13 but 11.5 fitted perfect. Straight from the box walking comfort, even in the rain. Early days, but so far so good.

Love wearing these, they have proper walking boot style soles and are very nice to walk distances in, they are comfy and don’t rub. My only gripe is that they stink! I don’t have smelly feet, yet when I take these off the whole room smells bad. It’s something about the material that the insole is made of I think.

These are pretty excellent sandals. This purchase was to replace a pair of identical sandals which I had and wore for some years (I bought men’s because they fit my feet well and are generally stronger than those made for women). My only gripe is that the velcro fastening at the heel tends to lose its holding power long before the rest of the sandals are worn out. Apart from that, I recommend them.

These were a straight replacement for my present pair of ECCOs that I’ve had for several years.
The present pair have been comfortable, durable, and a brilliant buy. So, I’m hoping that these new ones (They’re exactly the same) will give me the same mileage and comfort as the previous pair.
Sure they’re not cheap, but a good, sturdy pair of sandals will pay for themselves in the long run.

I’ve tried several makes of sandal for hiking, including rough tracks. Went for a quick 5 mile walk on varied terrain and they are comfortable straight out of the box. I think these are going to be the best of the bunch for me. I normally take a size 43, and 43 in these sandals fits me perfectly – even though my right foot is 5mm longer than the left. The heel strap adjustment is important in positioning the foot properly on the moulded insole, but once it is set up properly, all very comfortable. The design is neat, with no clumsy sticky-out overhanging features you get with some designs. They appear to be very well made and look like being very hard wearing.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThese were bought to replace my Merrell Kahuna sandals that I have had for over eight years but had finally started to fall apart. These Ecco sandals compare very well with the Merrells. They offer adjustment around the heel. The other two straps are the same. I like the sole which seems to be quite tough with a good tread. The footbed has a material covering so it remains to be seen how it copes with getting wet, say during a walk on a wet beach. I’ve only had them about a week but so far have been very satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI cannot find any other sandal on the market with 3 straps across the foot and an adjustable heel strap. I have been looking for a replacement for an ancient pair of Clarks Active-Air sandals which are finally disintegrating. I have been looking for a leather sandal to replace them for some years and finally Ecco have come up with the goods with the added advantage that all the straps are adjustable , they are nice leather and have a lightly cushioned lining inside. I cannot find any sandal from any other manufacturer that compares. Expensive but superb.

Too small, too narrow. You can adjust the main Velcro across the foot. But you cannot adjust the Velcro over the toes. (As it is restricted by the fabric under).
The feel and design otherwise looks okay. Not as comfortable as my outgoing Merrel’s. I am returning these and purchasing Merrel again…

After having previous Ecco sandals I had no hesitation to purchase this updated version and I was not disappointed. They look great in Wild Dove / Titanium and fit me perfectly, they are true to size and I have slightly wider feet which they also accommodate perfectly. After a days wear they have settled in nicely and are so comfortable you don’t know you are wearing them. The soles are very grippy and stiff enough for walking over rough ground when needed. I will be living in these all summer!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLovely, comfortable ,light sandals from Ecco. I have worn Ecco sandals for the last twelve years and decided to go for an upgrade. These are significantly lighter than the older models and the straps are much narrower but they are still effective and the sandal stays in position without any chafing. I was able to put them on and wear them for a straight nine hours without and problems and they felt broken in from the minute I put them on. I think they were good value for money and expect them to last for a considerable time

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought my first pair of these sandals several years ago, and have been wearing a pair every day for the last two years (moved to Tenerife….). They are absolutely outstanding. When I discovered how much I loved them and tried to buy a second pair online in the U.S., I was surprised to discover how difficult it was to find them. I found it hard to believe that people didn’t like them, but when I spoke to a dealer I learned that the problem was that they were the only sandal recommended by an American podiatrist organization (don’t remember the title), and so at that time they just couldn’t make enough to satisfy the demand. Don’t know if that is still true, but these sandals are incredibly comfortable and, I now know, very, very durable. And also, in my eyes, very attractive. I should add, though, that the pair I recently bought from Amazon in the UK were not the ones shown in the picture. The picture showed sandals with some gold trim, but the ones I received were pure black and not as attractive. But still absolutely worth the money.
