I had been looking for a phone to replace my much loved LG G6 which was slowly dying. I toyed between the Pixel 6a and a samsung. After reading several reviews, comparing models and cost, the Pixel 6a seemed to tick all the boxes. Great reviews for the camera, easy to use etc. While I can live with the fingerprint reader being a bit flaky, I have to say I am disappointed with the camera. It’s not as good as my LG G6 if you just point and click. It may be better however, the tips guide on how to operate the camera is awful. It may sound old fashioned but a users guide included with the phone would have been helpful rather than having to go between a website and operating the camera.

Love everything about this fon except for the fact that there’s no charger. You have to buy yourself a plug head for the cable provided in order to charge it. I like it’s size, weight and slimness.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe camera is fab. Taken great family shots and selfies. The battery lasts a day so not great. I wanted best camera and battery life without spending over 600, didn’t exist for me. The storage is not adequate for me so I am having to save photos to the cloud and delete from phone. These phone makers need to bring back ability to use memory cards to enhance storage.

This is a great camera and I am keeping it… I am managing battery life by charging evey night…. Might be worth on travels to have a charging bank. Will keep eye on the market.

This phone surpassed my expectations. I can’t upload photo because im using it, but it was in sealed boxed perfect condition and works perfect with my ISP. You may have to select LTE or HSPA or w/e. Fingerprint reader struggles a bit, but in time you get the hang of it. Photos are amazing… This phone is much better than the Samsung A53 5G which my wife currently using.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMarvellous phone. I read all the reviews, comparisons and decided to buy a 6a, all I can say is that everything I have read is true, it really is a great phone in every way, the very fact that this phone is compared to phones twice, three times, four times its price says everything you need to know.

My wife bought this because she can’t stand big bulky smartphones and so far she’s happy with it. The phone is very fast, everything works as it should and to a high degree of quality (camera, sound, screen, etc.). The only complaints would be that battery life is not as good as you would expect from a 5000mah battery and it only works with PD chargers and cables (of which we only have two around the house).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGoogle Tensor is perfect, I ‘ve faced no lag at all. Camera setup is spectacular and photos are the best I have ever taken, I love the magic eraser. It has the purest Android interface you ‘ll be looking for. Battery lasts for a day and, if I dont’ squeeze the juice out, maybe more than one. On the flip side, fingerprint scanner is struggling to function under tempered glass, but eventually recognises my tips. Saddest part – I knew beforehad – is that Google doesn’t operate a store in Greece, which means 5G connectivity and VoLTE are not working for now.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersThe cable and adaptor that comes with the 6a is useless. There is no charger in the box and the smaller USB doesn’t plug into anything other than the phone as it’s male both ends. (Unless Laptops and wall charging sockets now have C USB sockets??)

The adaptor converts it to from Male C USB to Female A USB which means you have to find a double ended male A USB cable to be able to plug it into your wall charger or laptop or you have to buy a charger separately.

Never had this problem or complication with any other phones, normally you have Mini USB or C to A cable which connects into the charger, wall charger or laptop…simple.

Cannot review the phone yet as I cannot charge it and use it. But just wanted to let people know you may not have the sockets, adaptor or charger to charge it and will have to purchase extra items.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m tired of android phones cluttered with bloatware, and i bought Pixel 6a when it was discounted near Black Friday. I have been using it for 2 weeks and so far i’m happy with the phone – responsive and battery last for more than 1 day (I dun play games). The only odd thing is if you want to switch off the phone, you need to press power and volume up at the same time.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood for a reasonably priced Mobile. I was disappointed that I had to purchase separately two chargers. One 3 pin plug with C connector to charge and one with male USB to C connector to transfer data to computer, as these not supplied with the ‘phone, though it does have a C-to-C cable included and a USB female with C unit in the box. OK for transferring data from one phone (with the same C connector) to another but not much use for anything else. The ‘phone takes good pics. and now finding it easier to use with practice.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe fingerprint reader works every time for me. Battery life is quite good and can be improved if you apply battery life saver and turn off Bluetooth and WiFi, when you are not using the phone. It is quite easy to use, some of the finger swipe controls take a little bit of getting used to. The only down sides for me are that a plug is not included in the box. This would have been fine if any of the type C leads and adapters I have, worked with my 6a but none of them did (I had to buy a new 30 watt type C plug which meant I could not charge the phone for 24hrs in the house (I could charge it in the car). Also my older blue tooth headphones don’t work with the 6a so will have to buy some newer ones. I like the phone’s design and build quality is good.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersI have had this phone for about 3 months now and absolutely love it!! Got the Pixel ear buds bundled for free with the purchase and they’re great too. I normally target the budget end of the market (previous phone was a Moto g7) so this was a step up the range. Key points as follows in no particular order.
Build quality – excellent, feels solid, no flex, plastic back doesn’t feel like plastic and if you use a case there is no issue with scratching
Screen – bright (fine in daylight), sharp, vivid colours, responsive. 60Hz not an issue at all. Like the smaller screen which makes the phone easy to hold.
Camera – excellent. Easy to use, good range of options, accurate focus. Personally I find the photos a little too processed. Magic eraser easy to use and reasonably effective.
Battery – very good, easily lasts whole day with moderate use.
Speakers – clear, could do to be a tad louder, no distortion.
Phone – good signal, clear phone calls
    WiFi – excellent, both 2.4 and 5GHz.
Finger print reader – probably the worst thing about the phone. Works 90% of the time. Latest update seems to have improved things.
Processor – Billy wizz!!! Exceptionally fast. Has handled everything with ease. No heat issues.
Software – very much stock Android with a few extra tweeks. Lovely clean interface and not cluttered with junk apps. Updates guaranteed for several years.
Would I but it again? Definitely! Even better value with recent price drops.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOnly had it for a day but so far, so good.
Easy to transfer all my data over from my last pixel phone .

Much faster performance than my last pixel ( but then it should be 3 years on)
Quite heavy but that is a plus to me . No overheating issue like some others have reported.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersSo, there’s lots to like and admire about this phone – the clever new cpu, the screen, the battery life, and the untarnished Android are as promised. However, the Pixel 6a camera is not a step up. The software is a bit smarter but the camera itself is unchanged from earlier models. It’s not bad, but there are better options from Sony and Samsung if taking pictures is a priority. That said, the night mode and object removal are impressive.

My main gripe, and reason for only giving it 4 stars, is that it’s just a bit too big and quite a lot too heavy. The glass body is lovely but I would guess most folk will put on a bumper case to protect their phone, so no one is ever going to see that loveliness. Because of the extra weight, that case has to be more substantial if it’s going to adequately protect the phone from a drop.

I have mine in a well made bumper case. I’m very glad I bought it because it saved the phone from a drop onto a tiled floor, but it adds a few millimeters all round and the ‘phone pocket’ in my jacket is no longer big enough for the phone plus bumper case. Also, the substantial weight means the magnetic phone holder in my car can no longer supports my phone. These things may seem trivial but they are actually really annoying.

I don’t see the advantage of a 6 point something screen over a 5 point something screen. You gain very little, if anything, from the bigger size but give up a lot in terms of handling and weight. I guess the shared form factor keeps the production costs down, but I won’t be buying a phone this size again.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersFingerprint reader isn’t great. I’m old and I don’t think 24 hours battery life is good, my 4a lasts 3 days (this 6a was for Herself). But overall ? Decent phone. I suspect its biggest problem will be the imminent release of the Pixel 7, but I guess that means there will be deals to be had . . .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter having a Google pixel 6 pro you can tell this isn’t a premium phone but it’s a good phone, the plastic back is a little cheap but cover it with a case and it looks more premium
