I quite like this soldering iron having now got used to it. It’s quite light in comparison to a previous one I used which is nice as it means I can use it for longer without my wrists aching at all. I like that it has a temperature control on it so I can turn it up or down. So far very happy with my purchase.

I got this for when I am teaching stained glass. I’ve been using the weller 101 for twenty years but their quality has nose dived over last last few years. This is the best replacement at present. Heats well. Despite the lower wattage it seems to have the power. Dial make temp control easier. Smaller size is preferred by some students. Only criticism is tip needs to be bigger. I bought the bullnose type tip seperately from creative glass guild. BUT it could still do with being larger for leadwork.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHakko soldering iron is brilliant and very simple to use , for my stained glass art it is important to have good quality tools , this one meets all my expectations , I suffer from arthritis and using it helps as it is lightweight compared to other soldering iron’s
    Highly recommended

But holder itself is cheap look and not very impressed with quality for this price

Have been wanting one of these for a long time and boy was it worth the wait. Went from using my Weller in the morning to this as soon as it arrived and was immediately impressed with how fast it heats up. I’m talking seconds. Beautiful clean solder lines. It’s also extremely light. In the package is a little gizmo with which to change the temperature setting. I hope I don’t lose this because I couldn’t move the dial without it. I’m impressed with the range of tips readily available as well as this has been an issue with my particular Weller.

I really like it to do some stained glass, good precision for the temperature and very less heavy compare to the one I had before, a pleasure to use it !

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter taking some time researching soldering irons to use for making foiled pieces and leaded stained glass, this was the choice I came to.Mostly because of other reviews, also because of the adjustable heat setting, although pricy it is worth the initial payout, new heads can be purchased and I really like the shorter length of the heating element it gives more control, although new to this hobby it is making a huge difference to the quality of my soldering.

Very disappointed that in the picture it is shown to have a conical tip but it was delivered with a chisel tip I had to then order a conical tip separately!!

Bought this iron after having used Weller temp.controlled 100w , for stained glass work, have gone through 3 of them , this is far superior to the Weller and highly recommend it. Heats up fast also cools down fast.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a quality soldering iron, I wanted a iron that the tips wouldn’t disintegrate constantly which I kept getting on cheap ones.
The heat control is brilliant and as soon as you turn it off it cools quickly but the best thing is it doesn’t take long to get up to temperature when you turn it back on.
I don’t think I’ll ever need to buy another. Very happy.

Started with a much cheaper option and then upgraded to this – have not looked back – it is easy to use and ideal for crafting / jewellery making.
