Knife se
I bought this for a present and the recipient is very happy with them
5 piece Knife se
Very neat if you haven’t got much room on you worktop. Very sharp I brought sharpener as well, so pleased I have purchased a set for my daughter.
Great knives easily stored
Great knives that store very easily, taking up less space on worktop. Be aware though these have been the sharpest knives we’re had and were very sharp when first used them, ending up in lots of injuries!
Fabulous addition to the kitche
Although expensive they are excellent quality. Extremely sharp – so take great care! But worth every penny. Also a very stylish addition to my kitchen. Love the finishing touches – safe guardshield so knife blade doesn’t touch the surface when laid down. Super idea! Highly recommended
Very sharp, balanced & compact set.
Very nice knife set, definitely recommend. Good weight, well balanced sits on work surface without blade touching. Quality blade nice thickness but not overly like some . I purchased knife sharpener to match so I able to maintain a sharp blade.
I absolutely love these. Will look nice in any kitchen. Knife block small & compact so doesn’t take up to much space
The only down side is that they are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.
Would strongly recommend purchasing some plasters if accident prone like me during transition from my blunt old knives I’ve gone through a box as kept catching self on the tips during 1st cpl of weeks.
Sharp and neat!
Love the shape of the block and the small space it takes up. Love the colour. Love the different knives. Very effective for a variety of uses! All round fantastic.
Brilliant knives
My husband is the main cook in our house and he loves them. Says they are the best knives he has ever used
Very good quality
Very very good quality knife. Very good looking in my kitche
Great produc
My wife wanted new knifes for the kitchen so came up with this set as we have limited space and she wanted an upright block which would not take up much space. This set and block fits the bill perfectly. The knifes are held into the block securely by magnets and the knifes themselves are so sharp and cut so beautifully that we are really pleased with them.
Love these knives look good in my kitchen and are very good quality
Design that works
I love Joseph Joseph stuff not because it’s trendy but because it just works. I haven’t come across any of their products that aren’t functional first and attractive a close second. These knives all have the same feature as all of their cooking utensils which have a feature on the handle and are balanced such that the working end does not touch the work surface when put it down to rest. The knives are also attractively colour coded on the handle so that in the block you quickly become familiar with which knife is where, even though you can’t see the blade itself. They come in a slimline wooden block with magnetic hold and take up minimal space on the worktop. Just simple design that works.
Joseph Joseph Elevate Knives Bamboo 5-Piece Elevate Knife Set with Slimline Bamboo Block, Multi
This ‘Joseph Joseph Elevate Knives Bamboo 5-Piece Elevate Knife Set with Slimline Bamboo Block, Multi-Colour’ is a good quality and nicely designed knife block set. While generally I feel that Joseph Joseph products are somewhat overrated, this is genuinely a very nice knife set (provided you are not a serious cook – the knives are not the quality of ‘proper’ chef ones). There are five knives in the set, ranging from 3.5″ to 8″, which covers most eventualities. The block itself is great – made from bamboo, it looks very nice, is stable, and has magnetic slots, which are an excellent idea. The knives are Joseph Joseph’s ‘Elevate’ type, which means that they are designed to prop themselves up slightly so that you are not lying a dirty knife flat on your work surface.
The knives are easy to hand wash (they are not recommended for the dishwasher), and the block can be kept clean readily with a wipe over with a damp cloth.
While not the highest quality knives, this is a lovely set for most domestic uses.
Very attractive, very sharp
This knife set from Joseph Joseph is very stylish and well made, the knives are robust and very sharp straight out of the box.
I’m a big fan of the magnetic knife block – I love that it keeps the knives secured and you don’t have to worry about blunting the tips or blades when storing the knives. The block is slimline and fits nicely against the wall, taking up a small amount of space – this is great as we have limited room on our worktops and it really makes a difference.
The knives also have a nicely designed handle, they are comfortable to hold and have an extra chunk on to keep the blade suspended above the table when you lie them down – it’s small touches like this that make me appreciate well designed products.
The selection of blades is good – there is one for every need – we’ve not had any situations so far when we wanted something hat wasn’t available from this range.
All in all a great knife set, can recommend.
Reassuringly expensive...
The one thing with Joseph Joseph products is that they are trying to do two things. One – they are trying to look elegant and stylish in a variety of kitchens – the modern, traditional or other – they always try to scream sophistication and class. Two – they try to make life easier with a sensible product that will cut down the time that you are in the kitchen. Sadly I have found that some Joseph Joseph products forget to focus on practicality and just go for style. Thankfully this knife set works well with the rigours of a day to day kitchen – practical and beautiful. Sadly a bit expensive but I suspect that they will be long lasting and I hope that it will then prove to be cost-effective.
Compact knife set.
High quality knives in a bamboo block. This knife set should cater well for the needs of most home chefs. The blades all cut with ease. The handles are a pleasure to hold. The colour coding is perhaps unnecessary given that there are only 5 knives. The bamboo block does not look as pleasing as most wooden blocks, but I do appreciate the space saving format and using bamboo is better for the environment. Reasonable value for money.
Good quality
Very good quality (wouldn’t expect less from Joseph Joseph!) and very sharp knives, nice selection of blades and the block is very expensive looking. We slide the knives in sharp side first and they are held well by the magnets within. Not sure quite why they picked that range of colours on the handles but it doesn’t affect how they work so I don’t mind. Each knife has a built in stand on the handle which is a nice feature. Dishwash perfectly well. Hope they stay sharp!!
Decent knives in a space saving block.
I’ve had a set of Joseph Joseph knives before about 5/6 years ago and wasn’t very impressed with the quality of the knives. They certainly seem to have upped their game since then as these knives are super sharp and nice to use. The knife block is very attractive and thin and takes up less space on the worktop than a usual knife block. The thinness of the base does make it a little less stable and you need to put your knives in the opposite way than you expect which takes a little getting used to but in a small kitchen it’s a small price to pay.
It’s a good knife selection and the elevate technology works well.
Bamboo seems to be the new plastic for Joseph Joseph, as this new wooden 5 knife version replaces my previous 6 knife rotating one. Would it be as impressive?
In terms of looks – it definitely does, looking more attractive, sitting nicely against a wall and also doesn’t have the little dips the plastic one does that tends to collect dirt and dust. The five knives are a range of shapes and sizes, the only thing missing being a fish knife. An upgrade on a previous version means these are now Japanese steel, which seems easier to sharpen and doesn’t mean the coating wears off as they did on my previous ones. They still have the elevate function which is nice to keep a dirty knife off the surface and also a magnetic element to keep them in the block. Build quality for both the knives and block is solid and I’m confident the blades will remain attached to the handles.
Overall this is a step forward over the previous version, both in terms of form and function. I’m a fan and from me these come recommended.
brilliant, period
These Joseph Joseph Elevate Knives are brilliant – we just love them. Vey sharp in a range of sizes for different uses and the slimline magnetic block they come in just begs to be displayed and is so easy to use; very contemporary set of knives – will suit modern kitchens of all shapes and sizes 🙂
Lovely with a touch of colou
Anything Joseph Joseph is going to look good in your kitchen. This is my second lot of knives so as my original ones were still good (and matched the dcor) I swapped them over. They fit in this block just great. I like how the knives will only go in one way, so there is no way you can take them out, the sharp side first.
As the pictures show, there are the right amount of knives that you would need (my previous ones, not all of them were used, but they came with the carousel). This block sits up against the wall, so takes up less room on the worktop.
Please note that they can’t go in the dishwasher, although I’ve tried with the smallest knife and it’s fine, so I don’t know why they can’t. I guess it’s a chance you take.
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with these, they are lovely.
Stylish Kitchenware
This set of knives comes with a slim knife block, made from bamboo, that is designed to free space with its brevity. The block has magnetic knife slots so that the blades don’t shift or fall out and non-slip feet.
Containing five types of knife the Japanese steel was sharp and the handles have a bloc built in to keep the blades off work surfaces. All in all, a good kitchenware set with a diverse set of knives that look stylish as well as being decent blades.
