Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis a replacement of exactly the same pump. The old one lasted about 3 years and left out all year round.

Probably not what it was intended for but I use this to clear flooding from in front of the garage, when ever it rains.

And is perfect for the job.

When we have abused this one for long enough, I will buy another.

Bought this for my Intex steel frame pool. Used for 1st time to empty a half full pool. Did the job in a couple of hours. Only problem is the hose. Due to being so flexible it kinks when trying to get over the pool top so have to keep checking to make sure it still draining, other that a awesome.e pump.

My old 450w pump finally packed in. Bought this 750w upgrade along with a 20m, 1 inch diameter lay flat pipe and wow, does that combo shift water, used it to empty the pond & hot tub too. Did the hot tub (800l) very quickly can’t of been more then 30mins. Would highly recommend this pump and would definitely suggest getting a larger diameter pipe to use with it rather the using hose pipe

We upgraded from a lay z spa to a hard shell tub.
So with that in mind, we decided to get a submersible pump so that we didn’t need to wait too long for the water to pump out.
    And wow is it quick!
We have a 1200 litre tub and it was dry in about 40 mins.
    Very happy works great.
Makes my life a lot easier. And quicker.
So I can clean and put water back in asap.
    Would defo recommend.

Used for emptying my Lay-Z spa hot tub and it gets the job done in about 20mins. Have to tip it on its side to get the last bits of water out but the pump does the majority.
    Glad I finally got one.

I got this pump to keep a failed soakaway clear, it has worked on off for about 3 weeks and has had its work cut out, on one occasion had to run 3 hours constantly, the float switch has a good range from when it cuts in to when it cuts out, the lay hose is very handy, as per the picture I used a length of rubber hose comming out of the hole which improved the flow rate which I was very impressed with

    Very useful pump

This is more use for draining large amounts of water
I originally got it to clear S,it from the bottom of my pond which it does to some extent but you bring a lot of water with it needlessly
I should of bought one of those 120-150 hoovers to do a better job

These are excellent pumps and my previous one lasted many years in a demanding location. They are very powerful, well beyond what I require.
The one issue with them is the cable on the floating switch is too long. I resolved this by putting a loop in with a couple of cable ties.

We use it for emptying the hot tub. Takes about half an hour, but won’t empty all the water as the float switch will not allow it to finish the job. The rest is a bale out job, but its no big deal.
Difficult to keep the unit upright when submerged for some reason.

This pump is awesome. Used to take a day or two to drain a 7250 litre pool, but this Katsu had it empty in about 30 minutes. Is whisper quiet. I added the video so you can hear how quiet it really is. The optional included base means it can clear out the water right down to the last few millimetres.
This was a much longer better review but Amazons robot had no sense of humour and removed the first great review and I’m not typing that all again. I’m guessing it only looks for negative words and the function of this device it sees as negative.

Good. But, last few inches doesn’t suck out. Overall, makes a long job for a hot tub drain a lot quicker and easier.

Bought this to drain my spa for cleaning/storage. Works a treat!!! Spa holds almost 1000l of water and it took about 20 minutes to drain it to its lowest (Before micro switch cuts out) Easy to use and a nice long cable is really helpful. Pretty quiet motor so no disturbing the neighbours. Only opportunity is if you want to clip it direct to a standard garden hose with Hoselock system, you’d need to pop to Homebase/B&Q for a slightly larger tap connector as the pipe outlet is slightly larger than a regular garden hose. Can’t say how it would fare with a pond or such like but it is a good powerful pump so cannot see why not.

Was a bit worried it wouldn’t be strong enough but it was very effective at draining our hot tub (1500l) in about 30mins which included lost time for the hose popping off several time. Only teason I dropped a star was that I bought the kit with the hose and the connectors aren’t very effective if you move (got drenched more than once).
Really good pump for this price point though.

We were digging a soakaway and it filled up with water before we were finished, courtesy of the british weather! This was really useful to empty the hole of the water for us to continue working on it, but it just seemed to take about 5 minutes before it was able to push the water up and out the pipe. Not sure why but once it started it was quite reliable

I used the pump to empty my hot tub, which it did quickly and efficiently, but only with lots of manual intervention with the optional hose. The hose is flat but the pump doesn’t have enough power to fully inflate it, so on every turn or change in level it goes flat and no water can get through. Next time I’ll connect a standard hose using the adapter
It’s a shame because the pump is ideal

This is a good pump that emptied my hot tub in about 40 mins as opposed to 5 hours. There are some limitations, others have mentioned the fixings, best solution is a hosepipe butterfly clip adapter which works fine.

The main criticism which I could not find any information on anywhere when I was looking at purchasing so I’m posting here for other hot tub users, is that the suction valve is about 5cm high so it will not completely empty your tub. I have not found a pump that operates differently, so guess it’s standard in the design but it would be helpful if they did drain completely.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe bought this to empty our Laz-Y-Spa Paris. I’ve used it for the first time this evening. The tub usually takes hours to drain then you have to try and tip the remaining bit out so we thought we’d give this a go. We bought a flat hose to go with it (as lots of people recommend that). I would say it was the flat hose that was most tricky! Time wise it took 26 minutes. I know it will be a bit quicker next time as we had problems trying to get kinks out of the flat hose which made it take longer to get the water out. The hardest part of setting up is attaching the flat hose – you will need a Phillips screwdriver for the clip that attaches it – it’s a little fiddly. Then it is ridiculously easy. Put it in tub, rock it about a bit to fill it up with water, switch it on and away you go. We will be buying a wet vac too as you need to leave 7 cm of water (the pump has a switch that floats and stops it when you reach this level). Good pump, did it’s job and made life easier. Next time we will lay hose out properly before switching it on.

I bought this as I occasional get some minor flooding in my carport when the weather is extreme. During these latest downpours the carport flooded again, about 4-5 inches where it was worst, and this pump got rid of it in a very short time.
Now that all the water has gone I have dug in a 25L plasterers bucket to the rim in the very corner of the carport to act as a sump, and allowing the floating switch to work as it is designed to do, switching on and off depending on the level of water. I drilled some 30mm holes in the bucket to allow water to seep out after any flooding and put a wooden lid on the top to assure nothing unwanted falls into the bucket. Once I get some correct sized piping I will make cut outs for pipe and electric cable, so I can make it a permanent installation e.g. during the winter season.
The pump runs very quietly, and with the 40mm hose attached to the pump spout with a simple jubilee clip it really shifts a lot of water very quickly.

Got this for emptying hot tub and pool. Arrived very quickly 🙂 and securely packaged. Pump is an excellent compact size and light wieght, so light weight that when submersed fully in water I needed to put a weight (samll paving slab) on top of the pump (as the pump is powerful enough to move itself when working underwater). Not a problem. I got the package with the pipe, adapters and clips. Pipe is very good and easily attched. Be sure the pipe is run straight and is kink free especially for 1st use. The floater switch works well and will turn the pump off well before the water level is too low for the pump, so I had to hold it vertically to empty the final few inches of water, but this only took a minute! Technically it should have taken 7 1/2 minutes to empty 1000l (8000l/h) and it wasn’t far off (I didn’t time it). So what would have normally taken a few hours to empty using the passive method is now much faster. Overall I like this pump, it packs away neatly back into it’s box for stotage. I would recommend and would puchase again.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersOne is always a bit apprehensive when you buy something like this in case it doesn’t work, however in my case it worked well and so far I’m happy with it. It was only delivered yesterday so I don’t know how long it will last and like all these things you have to be careful. In particular you have to ensure the pump doesn’t run dry and damage the pump motor as one or two customers have discovered to their cost.
I bought the Silverline lay flat hose 10m x 25mm along with the pump and with an appropriate jubilee clip I attached the hose to the screw on pump attachment. That was a good decision because it enable the water to flow at a good rate (better than a half inch garden hose). I tested the pump first in a water butt about 18 inches deep. Put the pump in the water first before turning the electrics on and ensure the hose is straight without any kinks (that was a bit of a faff to begin with). That gives the pump the chance to prime itself (fills with water) and then switch on the electrics and check to ensure it’s working properly. This is where you find out how it works because you need to hold the float well above the height of the pump for it to switch on. If the float drops it switches off and all these pumps seem to work the same way. You can tell it’s better at emptying a much deeper pool of water so that the float stays on the surface. When the level drops below top of the pump you have to find some way of holding the float up unless you want to stand there like a dummy and hold it up yourself.
I then went out to my pond and got everything in place including ensuring the hose was in a straight line. My pond was about 18inches deep because it was already partly drained so I held up the float with a separate support (you can usually find something that will do it).
Everything worked well, the pond emptied at a nice steady flow rate! The only downside is that it won’t drain it dry, leaving about an inch or so remaining. If you want it completely emptied you need a wet vac or similar.
    Good luck!

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAfter reading reviews for many pumps available on Amazon and online I decided to go for this one based on price. I also bought a 10 metre long 25mm lay flat hose which pushed onto the pump nice and snugly and I fastend it on with a jubilee clip which my husband had here at home.
Yes the instructions are basic, plenty of safety warnings though. Initially I stood it on some steps in the pool as the water was so deep that the float switch would not be accessible. I turned the power on, it took a few minutes until the water started to pump out but once it got going it was great. I ran the hose slightly uphill to some fruit trees in the garden. It took about 5 hours for the pool to drain which was quicker than it was to fill. As other reviews state it does not drain completely but it was certainly quicker and easier than the way I had to drain it last year and being able to direct the water to where I wanted it was a real bonus. If it could just suck up a few more of those last few cm it would be 5 stars from me. I am going to put it away with the pool equipment and keep my fingers crossed that it works again next year.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersA cheap pump that did what it was supposed to. I recently dug out a hole in my shed to reinforce the floor before putting a lift and some lights in. However with the hole dug it filled with water, i needed to drain the hole to install reinforcing mesh, lights, and some piping.
The water itself was dirty muddy water with bits of stones and grit in it, but the pump managed to clear it out. The speed it pumps is acceptable.

One major downside is the output pipe, I had a length of garden hose and there is no simple way to connect the pump up to the hose, if the adapter went just a tad smaller then a hose could be pushed into place, I melted a piece of 32mm sink drain pipe to make a reducer which worked.

The pump comes with a float that when the water level drops to a certain point the pump will stop, I prevented this from working by cable tying the float to the pump body keeping it on all the time. This was because I was draining a fairly shallow hole, this ultimately led to the pumps demise as on the last day the pump ran dry for quite some time ultimately overheating. However, I its job was done and was able to lay concrete.

4.0 out of 5 stars Drains dirty water reasonably well.

his was bought to replace a pump located in a surface water drain sump. The old pump was permanently submersed in the drain and kicked in automatically when the sump filled with dirty rain water. this pump is a little slower in dispersing the water through a slightly smaller hose but it does the job adequately. It was cheaper than the old pump and almost performs just as well. I have decided to keep this pump out of the drain and only use it when the sump fills. hopefully this will give a longer life. I am also placing the pump in a bucket of clean water after each use to keep any silt from drying out and clogging things inside. I unscrew the discharge pipe so the water perpetually circulates clean water through the pump and it is surprising how much silt grass etc is evicted during the process. I also flush the discharge hose to keep it in good condition. The old hose was kept out in all weathers and lost its flexibility which you would expect after several years. My new hose is wound up after use also. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the pump has a raised base so you are unable to get the last inch or so of water out but this is not a problem for me. Also I have adapted the float switch and secured a loop to the top using epoxy putty to secure a hook so I can manually keep the switch upright to operate the pump to extract as much water as possible.
