he front of boots is rounded
I like the boots except for the front toe area is rounded but the boot fits to size and is comfortable to wear. used it on rainy days and so far no leaks. Is it warm, won’t know until winter.
If you don’t care about the round toe area buy i
I love Keens and these boots only made me love them more. Still have my first pair of hiking shoes and am impressed with how they have held up. Got these new ankle high boots for hiking some tougher terrain. As usual, great fit and support, and very comfortable. Also on sale so can’t beat that!

These boots slay. No break-in time. Super comfortable, accurate sizing, well made. I love them LOVE them. if you love a wide tie box with some wiggle room, you’re gonna want some Keens.
These are truly waterproof. While hiking with my family I was the only one who did not have soaking wet feet after a 4 mile hike. They are very light weight witch makes it easer walking in them. The trail we where hiking was a very rough trail but I felt very sure footed while wearing these.

I’m always looking for a good hiking boot, these are the ones! They fit a bit big but I use inserts and they are perfect. I bought 2 pairs because when the first one needs replacing I don’t have to worry about what to buy. Highly recommend! I can't believe it, they are waterproof!!! YAY FOR ONCE because it always says "Waterproof" and I find it's not the case.

These are going to be great for hiking! I've been wearing them around the house to check them out and they're very comfortable all over. I have narrow feet and I can get them snug on my feet!

I love the Keen Targhee for its comfort & durability, but the sizing seems to have changed. I wear a Wms Size 8.5 in street shoes. In the past, I have had 2 pair of the Targhee Mid Height and 1 pair of the Targhee Hiking Shoe, all in Size 9, based on reviews that suggested sizing up by .5 size. The 9 always fit great. This most recent purchase of the Targhee 2 Mid Height in Size 9 was much too large. I re-ordered this same boot in Size 8.5–my street shoe size–and it is the perfect fit. I’d suggest that you order your normal street shoe size when ordering the Targhee 2 Mid Height boot.
This is my second pair of these. The last pair lasted 3 years.

These are hands down the best pair of hiking boots I’ve owned! They’re comfortable as they are and even better with my custom orthotic inserts. They’re not heavy and support my ankles perfectly! I’ll most definitely order these again when these wear out.

I bought these boots for a hiking trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains. I bought them because reviews said they were good for plantar fasciitis. Paired with a nice pair of wool socks I did really well with them. I like how the toe is boxy so I had plenty of room for my toes. They felt supportive and have nice cushiony insoles. My one critique is I wish there were a tab for the laces at the top of the tongue because the tongue is a little bulky and doesn’t always want to stay put.
I’m not normally a hiker but I was going on a vacation that would involve a lot of hiking. I already have plantar fasciitis and was worried about my feet hurting. These boots were perfect! They were so comfortable and kept my feet from aching at the end of the day. It rained the whole trip and the only thing dry on me was my feet! I highly recommend these boots!
Durable hiking boot. Normally I go up a half size but I actually had to exchange back down to my regular size. I even tried boot socks and an additional footbed but they were still too big and slid around. The difference in the half size was huge. I went from way too big to hopefully just right.
Using these shoes for being in the mountains & yard work. Just what I wanted but had to get used to the higher tops. Longer socks needed to wear with them.

It is a bit wider than expected (these are wide boots, anyway, I am buying a new pair). However, this seems a bit wider than the other ones I have, which is much appreciated. I use extra supportive insoles so need more room. How wide? I usually buy a D width or wider if it is available, these fit pretty much the same. This women’s boot has a reasonable width heel, not as proportionally wide as the toe box is.
Can’t remember if this is my third or fourth pair, I use Shoe Goo to do repairs as needed as I have had some issues with parts of the sole coming loose from the edge, use at work, and use gardening, walking, etc. The pair I am replacing are probably 4 to 6 years old. I do alternate shoes so use then only Every other day or so.
Best Hiking Boots I've owned
I suffer from Planter Fasciitis and other foot aches and pains, at Christmas I spent over 100 on a well named pair of boots that had rave reviews but for my annoyingly sensitive feet I couldn’t walk 1/4 of a mile without my feet killing me and going on a hike in them had me in tears. These Keen boots are such an amazing turn around. From new I did a 6 mile hike and it was like wearing my comfy trainers. Not one ache or pain and I was going up hill, down hill, climbing boulders and all sorts. They are absolutely brilliant and as long as the quality stays the same these will be the only boots I buy from here on out. Definitely worth the investment.
I love Keen boots. They hold up and give you the support you need on uneven terrain. I did notice that there were a couple small differences between these an my older pair of the same model. I hope that doesn’t mean these won’t hold up as well. Time will tell.
TALLAJE GRANDE
buenas noches me llego la talla que compre 6, pero me queda muy grande, aqui no me da la opcion de cambiar solo de devolucion de dinero, hay posibilidad de cambio por una talla menor o definitivamente debo devolver el producto y aceptar devolucion de dinero
Thick, comfortable soles and wide toe box.
These shoes are fantastic and comfortable. You can slip them on and not have to break them in at all before a hike. I love a good Keen and I’m happy to have found this shoe on sale.
My two qualms with the shoes are as follows:
1. The top clasps for the laces are made out of plastic, not metal. This just seems cheap and I’m sure they will be the first thing to go on the shoe. Columbia shoes use metal clasps but aren’t nearly as comfortable on the sole as Keens, imo. But although the clasps are plastic, they initially hold the laces in place very well.
2. The inner sole is made of some sort of poly-plastic and it’s noticeable, as your sock does slip a bit on it. I wish it had a better texture and was less slippery/smooth –something for Keen to think about for their next design. I might spray it with a fixative to give it some texture.
Anyhow, minus to the two points of possible improvement, I still highly recommend this shoe to anyone with shorter toes and a wider food box. I have osteoarthritis, morton’s neuroma, and nerve damage in my toes. These shoes are so comfortable that walking doesn’t bother my feet while wearing them. I can’t recommend them enough. Would definitely buy them again.
I didn’t get to wear these on a hike so I can’t comment on that. However, for me, who has never had problems with shoes being too wide before, found these too wide. My heel would slip in the shoe every time I took a step. The foot bed was wide too but that might have been alright in the long run. Even laced up as tight as these would go, they still weren’t tight enough to prevent my foot from slipping. They were so wide, I went back to my order to see if I’d accidentally ordered a wide but I see that a wide isn’t even available. So I’m returning them.
Fits grea
I have only worn these new boots a couple of times but they are extremely comfortable. Slightly more room than the same size in Targhee iii. but that was great for me as I like to wear a couple of pairs of socks when walking. Colour is as shown on screen and they are easier to get on and off than the Targhee iii.
I was trying to find new hikers to wear as winter boots and suddenly it dawned on me that if my Keen sandals are so comfortable, why not try the hikers? I am glad I did. First off, there is plenty of room in the toes which I like as I have wide feet. They fit nice over the arch (I have a high instep and getting my feet into boots has often been a problem) and I needed something waterproof. I have not waded through slush yet but I am expecting them to hold up. The first day I wore them out was when we had snow that had frozen hard to ice, and the lug bottom gripped very nicely and I could walk normally, although cautiously of course. Since I do not wear the boots on a daily basis, the higher neck around my ankle would often rub sore, but I feel no indication of that at this time with the Keens. Two small things; One, my feet seem to sweat because of the waterproofing I am sure but it is a small price to pay for not getting soakers. And two, it seems no matter what lightweight boot I wear, I clop around in them, so that is not the boot’s fault. I highly recommend these especially for the reasonable price.
Superb produc
Wife loves these
Great fit very comfortable and finally a fully waterproof boo
Not the most “sexy” looking boots, for sure, but definitely great for hiking the awesome national parks! When I first put them on, they seemed a little bulky. However, the “bulk” is what actually made them so comfortable. They have a bit wider toe box, which I like, but still fit my narrower ankles just fine. They required no break-in period. I used the insoles that came with the boots and they worked well, which is great for someone like me who has issues with plantar fasciitis and other foot pain. Though my feet were a bit “heavy” after 8+ hour hiking days, I had no pain. These boots also seem waterproof. Only time I felt actual water was after stepping in a creek that was deeper than expected and water went over the top of the boot (totally my fault). Otherwise, I walked through some pretty thick mud, moderate puddles, and shallow creek beds and they worked well. Good traction. Not sure how they’d do in deep snow, but I’m not sure these are made for that since they are only mid-height anyway? The rounded toe is pretty ugly, but I was quite thankful for the rubberized protection when walking over rocks and boulders. Definitely recommend these boots. You get what you pay for, and these are worth it. And these are true to size. I wear a size 11 ladies in both running shoes and tennis shoes, and I ordered a size 11 in these…perfect fit.
Brilliant for plantar fasciitis
Brilliant footwear, arrived promptly, my toes are near the end but think next size up would be too big, may give as used. Very good quality and look good too. I got these because I have plantar fasciitis and get loads of pain when walking, these stop all pain.
... these boots for my wife and they are a excellent boot true to fit and very comfortable
I bought these boots for my wife and they are a excellent boot true to fit and very comfortable, these boots don’t get many reviews and can easily be overlooked like all boots they need looking after I apply 3 coats of Graingers G-wax as directed over 24 hours before I wear them out for walking.
They are worth the extra money over other more well known boots do a bit of research on other sites also,These boots will stand the test of time !!
Have purchased Keens before
I have bought Keens before and found them to come up rather large, so ordered my everyday shoe size, instead of a size bigger which I usually do with walking or running footwear, and these are absolutely fine. I do not wear thick socks for walking in, preferring thin blister or compression running socks, so fit is grea
Extremely comfortable for my feet which are very hard to please
Extremely comfortable for my feet which are very hard to please! I struggle to find comfortable footwear generally and especially for hiking. So far these are very impressive in every respec
These boots are the comfiest I have ever bought. ...
These boots are the comfiest I have ever bought. The first time I wore them for a 4 hour walk with no issues at all.
I think I’ve got it cracked now. If you buy leather Keens, buy a size larger. My leather Keens are exactly that. However, if you buy the softer, trainer type material Keens buy your normal size. Don’t know why this is , but I have leather in 6.5 and Keen trainers in 6. They both fit…..
Tried to re order but failed as the boot I wanted wasn’t available via Amazon, even though the stockist has it.
another fab pair of Keens
This is my third pair of Keen walking boots and these beauties do not disappoint. Light, comfy, hardwearing what more do you need? My last two pairs of Keen boots have lasted three years each, which considering I virtually live in them is impressive. I have no reason to think that this pair will be any different. I wore these all day the day after I received them and they felt so comfortable its as if they were made to measure, no rubs or blisters!
Absolutely the most comfortable walking shoes or boots I have ever had and that’s saying something. Worn straight out of box for a 14.8 mile hike through mud ,water over rocks, up and down steep hills. Traction very good no slipping at all and the ankle support was fantastic and never tight or uncomfortable. Laces stayed exactly as I had fixed them at the start. I was in mud up to my knees and so got mud over the tops but that was my fault for not wearing gaitors so I got muddy ankles. I generally finish a long walk and can’t with to get my boots off but not this time I would have left them on but for the fact that they were very muddy and my husband wasn’t going to allow me in the car! Top quality mega comfy I will be sticking with these from now on I have found my forever boot.. love em!
Delighted with my boots. They are half a size bigger than my normal shoe size but having to wear specially made orthotics the size accommodated the insoles and are so so comfortable. I am very pleased with my purchase
Good sizing guide helped
A dream of a pair of boots. Glove fit. Good sizing guide helped. Buy some good dubbin wax and treat them a few times. Best Buy of my walking life.
The boots are very confortable, altough, because of the stiffness of the boot, it will hurt a bit the ankle area at first until you give them some use to break that stiffness.
Made the waterproof test, totally submerge my feet on the water for a few minutes and my feet maintained totally dry.
Very good for walking in different types of paths and weather. Made my winter jorney in Iceland with then, snow, water, mud, passed everything with dry and warm feet, but even in more warmer weather they are very good to walk and with the feet in good temperature.
Needed a pair of walking boots that would accommodate my recently operated on foot…these have been perfect as they are a wide fit around the toe area. Also very comfortable, so both my feet are happy which makes me happy!! Also a very good quality boot, highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars great boots
he most comfortable boots, fit and support whilst light and supple, certainly the best I’ve worn!
I bought these instead of Keen’s Durand style for two reasons – because a previous reviewer noted the Durand weren’t roomy enough (or insole removable) to accommodate different insoles AND because they were lighter in weight than the Durand style.
I’m quite please so far! A few things that make them especially nice for me (but may not work for others):
FIT – as recommended by almost everyone, order *at least* a 1/2 size larger than typical. I already do this in running shoes, so it was any different for me to do this on these. (For example, I can wear anything from a 4.5 to 5 (35 EU is ideal) if I want sandles or heels to fit and not slide, but in “regular” shoes, I go up to a 5.5 and in running shoes, I’m a clear 6 in Nike’s and New Balance and apparently, these). There is not only plenty of room for my toes to not bump the front in 1/2 size up, but also plenty of room for insole insertion…
INSOLES – I have very high arches and am currently dealing with plantar fasciitis in one foot. So this was huge for me. Not only are the insoles here easily removable, they are actually pretty decent quality… meaning, if I wasn’t dealing with fasciitis, I’d probably have kept them in. As a comparison, I inserted the “pinkberry” from SuperFeet brand inserts and there was no noticeable different between those “special” insoles and the ones Keen already puts in the boot. FURTHER, I was worried my super-high arch ones wouldn’t fit, because they’re so stiff, but I easily (without even trimming, in my case!) replaced them with the SofSole high-arch inserts (available at sporting stores) with no problem.
ANKLES – I have very tiny ankles and so worried these wouldn’t properly hug them. But the snugness is so perfect on these without being tight that I actually feel like I’m wearing a little armor around my ankles.
LACES – I *despise* round laces for always coming untied no matter how many (and how) times I tie them. And so despite all hiking boots having them for strength/durability issues, I planned on replacing these as soon as they came, with typical flat laces (okay, I also wanted to insert prettier laces too). However, the two hooks on the upper ankle that you round before you tie the lace? They are rubberized and slightly expand – so your laces don’t actually move! I even pulled the loops at the top of the footbed as I was loosening them up and they wouldn’t budge until I removed the laces from the hooks! It’s that good! This may wear out over time, but for now, it’s impressive enough that I’m not even going to replace the laces yet!
TREAD – The picture online didn’t show very well how deep the tread would be on these, but it’s satisfyingly deep enough to actually make a difference in hiking up tall hills, mud, and slippery leaves. I have not yet determined how quickly the tread gets gunked/filled up (or how easily the mud falls out) to prevent grip, but I”ll update later on that.
I’ll update on the following after testing:
*WATERPROOFING: As I got the leather version, I’ll be spraying waterproofer over it, even though it’s already supposed to be waterproof (as you’d do with any camping gear).
*TOE STRENGTH: I’ll be kicking stones and such to test not only how strong the toes remain, but also how much the foot moves around inside when the toe is exerted.
So happy with these boots and that’s saying a lot since I have so many foot problems. It’s always worrisome to buy shoes online so I’ll try to describe these best I can. First of all I won’t be making any 20 mile hikes. I’m over 70 and need boots to allow for my farm chores and bad weather, not mountain climbing, but if these work for me, how much better for those who are young and spry.
I’ve overweight and my feet tend to swell quite a bit, plus I have fused big toe joints. I can no longer get tall boots on at all and even regular tennies can pose a problem if I can’t open them wide. I need a big toe box and decent width, but have narrow heels. I need a cushiony insole, but also arch support (flat feet), low heel to toe height ratio and a rocker bottom to help with my stride because of bad ankles. It seems an impossible set of requirements. So it was with great trepidation that I ordered these boots.
Pretty much all I can wear anymore is what my grandchildren call my ‘Air Grammas’, thick leather New Balance shoes with a wide tongue and stabilizing sole. Boots and shoes I could wear previously have been relegated to the back of the closet. These include Mephisto walkers and Timberland and Ariat boots among others. Heels too high, tongues too narrow, not enough flexibility or too much, you name it.
These boots offer easy on/off while even having an attached tongue to aid in waterproofing. The toe box is ample and the width good, but you have to order a half size up for length. I did that and they are perfect. Even though the toe box width is generous, the heel is narrow enough to eliminate slippage. The built-in ankle stabilization is very helpful and the modified rocker bottom makes walking relatively easy for me, which is quite something. Few boots offer that. The padded ankle collar and height is very comfortable. The sole at the heel is not much higher than that at the toe which also makes walking easier for me. The sole is sturdy, but flexible at the same time. The mid-foot support is surprisingly good for my flat feet and although I often replace insoles with orthotics or other insoles to help my various problems, the ones that come in these boots are great just as they are.
Normally I wear a 9B although on some shoes the B is too tight. That’s a problem with my narrow heels because a wide width affects heel width too. I bought these in 9.5B and they are perfect.
I kept the packing, so sure was I that I’d have to return the boots, but it can all go out now. There will be no return. Very happy indeed.
I love these boots. I bought them in green over two years ago and walk on average a weekend of 30 miles per month as well as 10 miles daily in school holidays -all of them including two weeks in lakes at Xmas.I have wide feet and find these are the only boots which don’t crush the ball of my feet or make them burn when wearing them. Whilst I bought them as a two to three season boot I have found them so comfortable that I have worn them in deep snow with gaiters, stepped in thigh deep bog and have just walked the coast to coast in them and the only time my feet were wet was rain running down my legs and into my socks! Not a single blister at any time. The reason for replacing them is that I have worn the soles out and am starting to feel the sharper craggier rocks through them but I suppose 2 plus years is reasonable lifespan and cost to me has been less than a penny per mile! Additionally the laces stay fastened all day too! I have had more expensive boots from other manufacturers which leaked like an old tap and laces were constantly untying.
I walked 900k in Spain in these boots. Very comfortable. After 700k part of the sole came away and I stuck it back on with glue from a fishing shop. I am still walking in them. They are superb boots from the comfort point of view but don’t expect them to last long.
Keen boots and shoes are designed to fit the shape of feet, and not crushing toes together etc. These boots are top quality, but as with most boots, they feel a lot more comfortable after breaking them in on two or three short walks. The laces are excellent with a non slip weave. There is a small reflective strip in the woven tape, and the two hooks at the top of the fastenings make the laces lock in. Good toe buffer.
The tread makes one feel as though it has some substance and would be grippy, and the shape of the instep helps speed one along. All in all lots of attention to details giving excellent comfort and practicality. I am SO glad that I have discovered KEEN, as they will definitely be the firm I choose in future for boots and shoes. Congratulations KEEN!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great boot. Very light weigh
I am enjoying wearing my boot. It is light weight but sturdy. Does all I want in a walking boo

This is my first hiking boot as I usually wear tennis shoes. Had never heard of Keen and I am from America! Great water proof boot. Very comfortable to dog walking shoes. I wear them with hiking socks. The only thing is that the laces won’t stay tied. I also wore them while power washing the driveway and they got dirty, but sprayed them off and good as new!
