I got this in Dec 2022 at 138.99
When it arrived it was only the stove and gloves, no carrier, spare wick or funnel.

For my garden cabin, cracking piece of kit, have been toasty at night even at 0 outside, couple with stove top fan and you’ll be sleeping naked

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis item is a lot bigger than I expected which is a bonus for me. Bought some paraffin from a local iron monger and set about readong the easy set up and use instructions. It stunk a lot at first but thats to be expected for a new item that heats up. Anyhow, Its for use in my garage / home gym as I’m worried that the price of electricity is making the use of my warm air blower too expensive even for a few hours a week. So I popped a window slightly and a got the burner fired up. In no time the top mesh was bright red and the heat coming off it was / is scorching. The heat in the garage after about 15mins was the same as if I was using the electric blower. So thats a win. The down side is the smell. Other websites say its all down to the fuel used but I bought the best C1 fuel I could find so maybe its all in my mind. Ive used around a litre so far in around 6 days use at around 40 mins to an hour each time, and have still been warm enough to workout in comfort. Havent used the hot plate yet to boil a kettle but I may in the near future.

It’s excellent. There’s a slight hint of paraffin when lit, but that could be a characteristic of the fuel I’m using. It’s a great addition to my workshop. Also works as a back up heater indoors or camping should I need it. It’s a fair size though so don’t be thinking it’s something you can take on a hike with you!

It smells bad and wouldn’t recomend stay in closed room with it but it works perfect for my work shop preheating for few hours before work or after to keep dampness and mould away

To be fair we didn’t even use this item – it was far too big for my 6 x 4 ft Glasshouse. It did however seem well made and really good value (compared with others elsewhere). I would love if they made a half-sized version.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersFirst the good points. The heat output using C1 parafin is good, I might even go as far as very good. It’s portable (Watch out the handle gets extreamly hot in operation so exercise caution, infact turn it off and let it cool before moving) If you remove the top cover it can be used to boil a pan of water for a brew or cook some food with no issues but if being used outdoors it does need some wind protection.

Now the not so good/bad bits. The general fit of parts, from an engineering view point is poor. Nothing lines up quite right. Replacing/Cleaning the wick is a real pain as it’s almost impossibile to get it to accept the wick evenly so you end up with a very uneven burn. Normally I’d just trim the wick but the wicks supplied are fibreglass wicks which are non-trimable. Burn rate is listed as 0.25-0.3 Ltrs/H from using it I’d say that was very optimistic and a more realistic burn rate is 0.4 – 0.6 Ltrs/H.

One last point to note the wick holder has not had the sharp edges burred off, you will cut your hands to pieces so you MUST WEAR WORK GLOVES not those flimsy things that are supplied, they are only to stop parafin getting on your skin when filling the heater.

Overall you get what you pay for and with a little bit of care this heater is a decent buy.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this as an emergency heat source and I’m impressed by it’s output. Initially when I unpacked the huge box i thought I’d bought a dud as a lot of the parts were loose and one of the struts on the guard frame were slightly bent and dented. However once i disassembled and properly set up all the parts with the help of the very clear booklet I was very impressed. Assembling the parts isn’t difficult and helps you understand the mechanism of this heater which is very important to having it run properly and safely so don’t regard it as an inconvenience because i now feel confident using this at home.
Once i filled the tank with four litres of paraffin using a funnel i waited ten minutes for the wick to soak up the fuel before raising the wick and lifting the chimney to light. After initial smoking and minor adjustments to the wick level it burned very cleanly. I carried out first fill and lighting outside following advice from other reviews and would recommend. I don’t think i would carry this filled by the handle but otherwise have no issues or concerns.
Very economical for good off-grid heating

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a great help in keeping my electricity bills under control. The stove is well made and fitted with a wick (extra wicks can be found from this supplier. It is built to the finest specifications and daily use, refulled and wick trimmed it has been great. There are no fumes from the item and it is on a sturdy platform or base, which ensures safety.

In fact it is so good that I have purchased another style of paraffin stove which will also be put to good use.

    No complaints at all.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is a big old heater. But that’s a good thing.
It does a good job of heating a room.
My house is small but open plan downstairs. It heats all of it very well and of course heat rises so it warms upstairs too.
That said, it’s portable so it can be carried upstairs anyway.
It does of course smell of paraffin but it’s no worse than the smell of lit candles.
I’m using this as a way of trying to avoid enormous gas bills.
But I will also use it when I go camping, especially as you can cook with it too.
I gave it four stars as the build quality isn’t as good as you’d expect from a brand like Coleman.
