Bought this to replace my previous one, that met with an untimely end! It’s an updating version of my old one. Great site radio. The only downside to it is that it seems a bit quieter than the last one.

Fairly easy to use with clear on or off visual display, channel search is good and very good sound. Does not look out of place indoors (if kept clean) If you have or use Makita batteries this is a very good buy.
Although it arrived box damaged (photo taken) the radio works and thankfully appears undamaged, careless transporting again. Makita tools in general are first class, check around for best prices including delivery.

So you scan for dab channels, it finds about 60 channels but only the strongest are listenable (like BBC) no matter how I positioned the radio I couldn’t listen to the other channels as they were constantly breaking up. These new radio’s have the Antenna incorporate in the handle so I decided to bypass it and install the old antenna as the picture shows. I’m guessing an improvement of 60% with the reception now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor Dab receptio

Great radio nice and sturdy! Sadly has no Bluetooth, my bad for not checking but I honestly thought they all would these days! So it’s quite expensive for just a radio! But like I say I should have checked first! Just a warning in case anyone else makes the same mistake!
The radio is great according to my husband

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the best Makita radio yet. In the past I’ve had the dmr109w and the dmr115b. I found the dmr115b drains the battery and the sound was poor, i never liked it from the start.
Am not bothered reference the bluetooth as I use a aux cable direct from phone to radio.
    Great radio.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this as a second radio. I have an old unit which is very basic am/fm which I’ve used in the garage and garden a few years now.
Knowing the sound quality and sturdiness of my old Makita I upgraded to this one.
I’m not disappointed sound quality is great for a small unit, set up is very easy and having Dab+ allows me to listen to more channels.
(The wife even allows this one in the house because of it’s smart black looks)
    I highly recommend this radio.
