Extremely basic to understand, UI and app are useful and manage to provide visual clarity on most things. Parking mode is kinda neat as well and I like how in the settings you can turn off the startup noise. Well worth the money. Also the suction mounting method is far far better than the ridiculous adhesive most products use.

Serves the purpose without hassles. No screen but you can directly project the live feed on the phone. Only problem I see is if I forget to switch my phone wifi,, it wouldn't transfer the clip instantly. Serves the purpose. No issues till now

Good
Good product, I like the unlimited cloud storage and phone app, as far as I know, no other dashcam does this. I’ve had problems with my pixel 7 and this recently though, my phone screen has to be on for the recordings to start which is a bit inconvenient. Can turn it off again once it starts.
Great dashcam and amazing customer service! If you want a dashcam where you can instantly get a video, choose nexar. Moreover customer service may take a day to respond after your initial report of an issue, however afterwards they are very prompt with responses and will follow up!

After going through at least 5 other cameras I landed on this. It’s really good. Some weird things with settings on the app but generally it works and looks great. I would highly recommend.

As is typical with any suction cup mount, it sucks. While the camera is good and provides above average video quality and in app features, the product is only as good and useful as the mount that holds it up. In heat over excess of 75*F, this mount will drop from your window. Just ditch suction cups already and go for a more permanent solution! I’d rather have to buy myself some new double stick if my windshield needs replacing than deal with the hassle of a crappy suction mount.
Yes the reviews are confusing, so I thought I would try for myself !
My Review of the Nexar Beam dash cam (Iphone 13 pro max, IOS 16)
Initial Impressions:
* The box was not sealed, with either a sticker, tape or cellophane.
* The Contents of the box appeared undisturbed, packed neatly and with all promised accessories.
* Disappointed to see a Mini USB for power.
* All protective plastic was in place on the mount and camera lens.
* Amazon SKU label indicated ‘new 2021’ rather than ‘2022’, the model date promised on the listing.
*The actual camera, mount (integrated GPS) looks well thought out and nicely put together.
Fitting in Car:
* Routing the power cable can be a little awkward, however clear instructions, cable clips and a trim tool to help are included (11.5ft USB Mini cable).
* Nice twist lock window mount that works well, using the GPS module as the part that turns to lock the mount.
* The camera and mount while quite square and boxy are low profile and can be concealed well behind my rearview mirror (I am still able to see the LED indicator lamps).
* Be sure to mount the camera so that it looks through via an area swept by your windscreen wipers ( I had to move mine).
Pairing the camera to the Phone / App:
* The pairing process was OK, but far from confident. While paring was happening as the instructions said, it took longer than I would have liked to find the camera and pair successfully (I was getting twitchy that it was not going the find the camera).
* The LED lights give a clear indication of when the camera is connecting to the app and connected to the app.
* The camera has been connecting to the app as expected.
Features that appealed to me and why I chose this camera
(not the only or all camera features):
* Auto cloud upload of an incident without limit or extra cost (at the moment policies often change over time).
* Integrated GPS.
*Dash camera of the year 2022 as voted by ‘expert reviews’.
* Priced competitively.
* Not too expensive to leave in car.
Using the Camera:
* This is where previous reviews concerned me. Some said that you had to have the Nexar app open with the camera view streaming, for the recordings to be available in the IOS App. I have not found this to be the case. Reviews have also mentioned a delay in the start of recording when using the auto-start feature Via Bluetooth, I have noticed this however you can confirm the connection status from the LED lights on the camera. The reliability of the auto connection is also a concern for me, I believe it has missed at least one trip I was expecting to be recorded. Time will tell if this camera is reliable long-term.
It is too early to say if I would recommend this Nexar Beam dash camera, that said I will be keeping it and will resort to manual starting of drive if it comes to that.
Hopefully, this has helped you decide if it’s the dash camera for you, you will only really know if you try it for yourself.
Update:
* Nexar will stream to the app without the app being open (have to agree to the permissions)
* Even once the blue Wi-Fi light is solid there is still a delay starting the recording (the streamed version to the phone anyway)
* The Bluetooth auto start is not 100 % it has missed another drive (streamed to phone)
Not feeling what you would call solid and reliable, for me anyway.
It’s a decent quality dash cam. Can’t go wrong with it but like most dash cams; it’s a bit hard to still see the license plates infront of you unless you’re close to them. It offers unlimited cloud storage and it’s true but you have to wait for the wifi to connect to the camera, open the app and click on live stream in order for the video to start recording to save on the cloud. It may or may not warm up your phone a bit. Some days the wifi connects in less than 10 seconds. Other days it takes more than 30 seconds to connect. Some days I have problems connecting automatically when I’m home and it’s still connected to the home wifi. So I stopped using the wifi to connect to it because doing all those extra steps just to have the same video save on the SD card seemed pointless. If you leave your wifi turned off and drive your car, it will still record. As long as you see the green light stay on, it’ll do it’s job. I bought an SD card adapter to hook up to my laptop and it plays the videos just fine. The camera will automatically delete old videos as space gets taken up so you don’t have to worry about taking the card out often to manually delete videos. I just used the live stream mode to adjust and center the camera and that’s been about it. On the SD card, it records at 1 minute intervals and the date and time are accurate.
This is my first dash cam and it is a nice little unit. If you are a neat freak, follow the instructions they give you and it will be almost invisible once you install it (it helps that the camera is small). It turns on automatically when you start your car and trips are automatically uploaded to your smartphone. The app is good and it included a GPS map of your trip along with the video (which is very nice). I do have a few complaints: it takes a few minutes for the camera to start so you miss that part of your journey. Also, you can create short clips of your videos but the app’s editing tools are a bit wonky when doing so. Finally, like many cars now, there is a power outlet in the back of my SUV. I would love to buy another camera for my back window but the app only supports one camera at a time. Multiple camera support would be a big improvement.
Prefect Dash Cam
Very great dash cam for a very great price. The Nexar Beam is very easy to install and I have had no problems with it just make sure that you go to the official site and see if it works with your phone.
Only one downside that I found is that the app is looks a bit different from the add but still is great quality and servers its purpose.
Let’s start with the camera quality for the price is incredible. Flawless night footage, very well laid out app. Downside: if you have CarPlay in your vehicle with the wireless option, this will not work. In our Silverado the CarPlay is off of wifi — which you HAVE to be on wifi with the Nexar for it to record. We’re mainly using this for insurance coverage when towing, so it’s not the end of the world. But I did want to flag that as it’s a lot less helpful if it doesn’t record at all if it’s not on the wifi setting in your phone.
I have no complaints for a low cost dash cam 3 months in. Works well. Easy to install properly with the supplied directions. (YMMV depending on vehicle) Only complaint is it’s slow to pick up a drive sometimes so you might want to double check. Close out your last drive helps. And the occasional message from the company to checkup on you for no reason. Overall, great bang for the buck!
For the people complaining about heat, you don’t have to stream. The camera will pickup when you power on the car and notify you it is recording in the background. If you don’t get the message, open the app and verify it has started recording. Close the app and it will, once again, notify you it is recording in the background. It will notify you at the end of the drive to save it also. Nice that it picks up things like hard braking and such automatically. Or, you can manual take a clip if you are streaming by clicking on it. I use Bluetooth to connect to my stereo so no issues with Wi-Fi.
Nexar magic
Mint little camera with lots of features records every drive and saves them in the cloud which is free, stream to your phone to save videos to your phone very simple to set up and use
Great value dashcam
Great little camera. Clever use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to talk with your phone and upload drives and key moments to your phone and the cloud. However, this can use your battery power and if you don’t charge your phone as you drive, this might be an issue. My only other issue is that sometimes drives don’t appear on your phone. They’re all saved on the Micro SD card, so it’s not a major problem. Overall though, it’s neat and discreet, which is what I was after.
Ease of use
There was no fiddling about. All the instructions were precise and eligible.
In an ideal world
In an ideal world nobody would need one of these but we don’t live in an ideal world and this is perfect for making sure everyone tells the truth if you get into a collision. Dead easy to set up, simple to use and worth every Penny
I am happy with this camera. Easy to use and you see your videos on your phone. Just make sure it is plugged in during use or it will drain your phone battery.

WAS going to return it, BUT decided to give it another chance. Glad I did.
I did /still have a Mobius, but I need a laptop or adapter to upload the video from the SD card to the lap or phone. And sometimes that’s not an option (having the mentioned devices in your car). So I wanted something I can connect and upload to my phone, immediately (this cam will do that). It will get your phone very warm, due to the fact it stays connected by Bluetooth. And you need to make sure both the green/blue leds are solid (not blinking). Besides those personal corks, this dashcam already paid for itself. Just two weeks of owning it, a commercial van side swapped me. And even though the other driver got the ticket, their insurance company was taking their time investigating the accident. But once I told them I had video and emailed it to them at 4:04 PM, the very next day at 9:45 AM they sided with me. (See the video and pic). Side Note: Get the 32gb model (the 32gb is the size of the SD card) and just purchase a128gb SD card separately to replace it with, it will be a lot cheaper that way.
I looked at a lot of reviews before buying this and a lot are negative to say the least. But I have had not problems with connectivity between camera and iPhone. The app is clear and easy to use. The video and sound quality are very good. I like the fact there is not screen on the camera less distracting.
Excellent piece of ki
Like it says on almost all the reviews, it tends to be a bit heavy on your phone battery….. but the extra facilities that this little gem has is well worth the slight problem.
EDIT: Nexar has issued me a replacement. I will be keeping this review up but they did fix the problem fast and no questions asked.
Battery puffed up after 8-9months of use. I’m no longer eligible for refund or replacement but I will not be having this in my car any longer because of the battery.
Good thing about this camera is that is easy to instal, quality of video is very good and it’s small so it’s not covering any of your sight.
Downside is that you have to download an app (which is nothing complicated) and connect it with your Wi-Fi. I am having trouble to connect it in front of my house as my phone is keep connecting to my Wi-Fi at home and not the actual camera. Other than that it’s really good and easy to use. Definitely worth the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of ki
Great Dashcam, easy to use, love the app, would definitley recommend
This dashcam replaced an old and unreliable Orskey unit. The little Nexar is a revelation and really easy to install and set up. Playback is directly to your mobile and picture quality is very good. Clever mounting system minimises the amount of cable on view.
I went back and forth on a bunch of different Dash cams and landed on this one because of its price and reputation. Now having it, heres pros and cons IMO:
Pros: Very quick app and account setup, Local storage, continuous record, detection alerts, auto on/off, comes with long cord so you can mount by rearview mirror and snake it all the way back to a center console usb port (comes with a 12v adapter which is dual usb too) and comes with a bunch of clicks and tools to hide the cable. Mounting the camera with suction cup, hiding the wire (2019 Ford F150) and setting it up took a max of 35mins to make sure it looks nice.
Cons: Wish the camera had a bit of a wider lenses, camera feels very plasticy and is 1080p quality.
With that 10/10 would buy again, and recommended. Hope this helps some people with the 1000’s of cheap and crap “Dash Cams” out there.
Overall good. Not 5 stars because: the power cord is too short for larger vehicles to reach a center console outlet and the cam doesn’t automatically connect to your phone if you have a competing Wi-Fi signal that you typically use (ex. Home).

It’s a good camera, does everything well but it does have its issues.
Cloud storage as being one of their main advertising points is almost useless, the cloud uploaded videos are chopped up and in the worst quality possible, cut into 30 second clips with Timelapse mode. Definitely horrible there.
Wifi always has to be on for the camera to record, if u accidentally left it off it won’t record. Example: it can get annoying having the wifi on outside the house in the driveway where connection is bad, but if u turn it off then it won’t record
Since cloud storage is basically useless, make sure you have storage on your phone because if you want to see a video through there then you need storage so it can save them, if not then you have to get ur computer every time to see what the sd card has.
Motion sensing is ok but I wish I could see through the camera when the car is parked and be notified of when someone touches my car when I’m away from it, not when I get in it.
Overall it’s still a good camera, definitely in comparison to other dash cams is the high quality one of the bunch.
Seems to be a great product so far. Easy to set up and use. Two things to note, since besides storing the videos on the SIM card it also stores the videos local on your phone if connected so it may use up a lot of phone memory. Also it kills the battery life. Neither of these are a huge issue for me so I would still give it 5 stars. Price is very reasonable. I did upgrade the SIM card from the standard to a 256G for more video storage. Very easy to run the cable around the dash with the included tool.

Mostly Good
Pros: Picture quality, app ease of use, videos streaming / saving to your phone quickly.
Cons: Drains your phone battery! Does not start recording as soon as you leave, sometimes misses first 5 minutes of the drive.
When I first installed this, I had it plugged into an outlet that was always powered. The camera relied on motion and precise location from my phone to know when to record. This used about 90% of my battery, killing my new iPhone 13 Pro Max by 6pm. Using the “phone battery optimization” and “outlet power always on” options in the app did nothing. If I turned off location or motion services, it never recorded anything unless I manually started recording. I had to wire a new outlet specifically for the camera that turned on / off with the ignition to solve this issue.
Otherwise, the camera works fine. The video quality is very good and I like the app. The only downside right now is that I cannot figure out how to start the recording as soon as it powers on. Sometimes I miss the first 3-5 minutes of the drive.
First, this camera works seamlessly with my iPhone. There is a setting where it AUTOMATICALLY starts recording when the vehicle begins moving, I do not have to turn it on or start anything. 2nd, it does NOT have to be on my screen for it to record what is happening, it kept working in the background with no problems with any of the other apps I used on my phone including Waze for directions, audiobooks, Spotify, etc. I could open the Nexar app anytime and have the screen show the view/recordings as they were happening, but I didn’t feel like I needed to.
EXPERIENCE: Used it on our 21 hour drive to Florida. In stop and go traffic we had a hard breaking incident and a notification came up that it felt the hard breaking event and it was automatically saving the clip (it obviously turned out to be nothing), but it was great that that it was automatic and I wouldn’t have to worry if something bad would happen because the clip would automatically be saved.
The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is it comes with a dual plug to go into the charging port in my car. Very thoughtful of Nexar, right? That way the camera always stays plugged in and there is another port for charging a phone. HOWEVER, for some reason every time someone tried to plug another charger into the 2nd outlet port, it would blow the fuse on my car. It took me a while to figure out the problem the first time. (Camera setup was like 5 minutes and everything worked great, then I plugged my phone charging cord in and was going for a drive then nothing worked. Like WTH???). By process of elimination figured it out (had a spare fuse) and all was good (and the fuse was only for the cig lighter/charging port so nothing else was affected.) Until hubs decided to charge his phone in the spare port and same thing happened again. No spare fuse, so had to wait to go buy a new one. I bought a couple, which was good cause child then plugged in phone for charging and there went fuse again. So now there is duct tape over the spare charging port and we had to get a longer charging cord to use the back seat charger (which is a minor inconvenience). Unfortunately, only 1 phone can be charged at a time then (we have not tried to see if dual charger in the back would work for 2 phones at once without blowing the fuse), but that is literally my only criticism of the camera. And I do not know if this is a problem with my car (20 amp fuse is standard for these ports) so somehow the camera and phone together overloaded the fuse, but not sure if it is the camera’s fault or charger or my car.)
Otherwise, it is VERY easy to read the instructions and set the camera to automatically turn on when a drive starts and to also run in the background so your phone works 100% normal while recording what is going on while driving (the exception could be if you want a different wifi in the vehicle since it uses it’s own wifi system to connect with a phone, but we don’t have car wifi or anything so had no issues with that either.)
I’ve only had the camera in my 2020 Jeep Rubicon for about a week and it’s a pretty nice compact, little camera that is suctioned on the windshield right behind the rear view mirror so it is out of the way. The field of view and quality of the video is really good and it starts and stops recording automatically. The videos are always on my phone and easily accessible. My only complaint is the camera doesn’t start recording right away. My parking spot is two levels down and my videos usually start when I am exiting the parking garage which I estimate to be about 20-30 seconds. If an accident were to occur in that period of time I would have no video of it. Not sure if this is normal or if a setting needs to be adjusted. Overall, 4 out of 5 for quality and price.
I couldn’t have asked for a better dash cam. It automatically records when I start my car and ends when I shut off my car (as it’s connected to my power source). All videos automatically upload to my phone and there’s plenty of custom settings to fit your needs. The video quality is 1080p at 30fps so it looks great & you can easily view license plates if needed. I spent a ton of time trying to research and find the right dash cam, super happy I ended up with this! I was hesitant because of the negative reviews on this cam, glad I went with my gut.
& I’m not sure why people are saying you have to have the app open to start recording, but you don’t. You just have to have it on the auto drive setting and it asks you at set up. You don’t have to do anything but start your car and drive. You don’t need to touch the app unless you want to look back at your videos.
Overbearing Wi-fi
I would give this camera 5 stars, but it keeps starting drives while I am in my home any time I walk to the side of my house where my vehicle is parked, rather than when I start my vehicle. The auto stop does not seem to work at all; I have had to manually end drives every time.
That being said, the unit is compact enough to hide behind my rear view mirror and out of my line of sight from the driver seat, the video quality is excellent both day and night, the setup was pretty straightforward, and editing clips from full drives is a breeze on the Nexar app.
Overall, I guess that having a live stream to my phone that is easily stored and edited is a fair trade off for some overzealous connectivity.
Good quality, easy to install, but some minor glitches
This dashcam has been super useful to me and I like the security of knowing that my drives are being recorded. With that being said, occasionally, my dash cam won’t start recording for the first 15 minutes of my daily drive which is really frustrating, even though it doesn’t happen often at all. Another thing is that the one time I did have to show my footage as evidence, the video glitched right as the other vehicle hit my car, missing the most important part of the accident.
Even though there are some minor problems with the app and the video itself, the picture quality is good, its very discrete, and it has done it’s job the majority of the time. To me, it was worth the money to invest in this. It really helped me to prove I was not at fault in the accident that I was in.
Amazing product at great price
Pros: The video quality is really good. The Nexar app is very user friendly and records all the trips automatically once you sync your phone with the dash cam. You also have an option to select memory space on your phone to store the videos. This buy is spectacular value for money. GPS an added bonus in case your car lacks Apple CarPlay or Anroid Auto.
Cons: Not sure how useful is the parking feature since it records the car front once collision or disturbance is identified.
Overall an amazing product ,
Cheers
Great product for price tag
Overall, good dash cam. There are limitations.. if you have wireless apple car play in your car, this dash cam is NOT for you. You are not able to use this dash cam and the wireless apple car play as the cam uses your wifi. Parking mode is hit and miss, other limitations include draining battery of your mobile device as your phone is used in the background whilst it is recording. Good quality and convenient with it being stored on your device, however parts of your drive will be blurred for 2-3 seconds randomly every couple of mins (not a massive deal but would be bad luck if it inconveniently blurs out as an incident happens)
The incidents and sensors are very good, if you break abruptly or accelerate it will detect and record accordingly in a clip.
This dash cam is amazing, first of all. Amazing picture quality, and extremely simple to set up. Once set up, it instantly streams the video to your phone. The only problem I experienced, is my car’s infotainment system is basically built around CarPlay or android Auto. This camera will not work with that. The reason is, when your phone connects to the vehicle via Bluetooth, it disables your WiFi. Not sure why, but it does, and there’s no way to make CarPlay work with wifi on. Well, this camera connects to your phone via a WiFi connection. So if you don’t have CarPlay or Android auto, or you just don’t use it, this camera will be perfect. However, If you’re like me and need your gps everywhere you go, and you want it on your car’s screen, you might want to look for another dash cam.

Works well
Overall the camera works pretty well. It took me 10-15 minutes to get it synced with my phone and the cable hidden around the frame of the car and after that, it’s pretty much been plug and play. I recently drove for 5 1/2 hours and it had no problem running and recording the whole time. The picture quality seems decent, enough that you can see license plate numbers pretty clearly from 10-15 feet away. After that point it starts becoming pixelated. Usually I manually hit start drive in the app, but it does automatically record if you don’t. I’ve had 0 issues so far.
One thing I appreciate is that you can shut off sound recording. I wasn’t sure of that when I made my purchase. I tend to sing and talk and swear at other drivers while I drive. If that footage is being used in an insurance claim or heaven forbid a lawsuit, the last thing I want is to have my antics recorded.
I’ve had a couple parking incidents detected but both times it’s been me shutting one of the doors after the car has been turned off for a minute or two.
The one reason I don’t give it 5 stars is connectivity. It streams footage to your phone using a wifi signal that it generates. If you are connected to your home or work wifi network, the camera will not connect with the phone until you lose that signal. I quickly get out-of-range of my home network, but for work I am connected to wifi until I leave our giant campus. From what I understand it records to internal memory in the event that it can’t sync with your phone so it’s not like that footage is lost, but in the event something happens, I’d rather have all of it immediately available on my phone.
Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives so far!
Amazing Camera! Amazing Service! Not Sticky Enough!
The icy roads in Texas and massive car pileup made me so anxious. I like to think I’m a wonderful driver, but I can’t control everyone else’s vehicles… so I decided “as an extra layer of protection on the road, I’ll buy a dash cam.” I did some research and decided Nexar was the product I wanted.
Shipping was fast. Setup is *very* simple; practically everything is done in the app on your phone – just need to make sure the camera is plugged into the power supply and that it’s connected to the app.
The camera quality is said to be 1080p. The ads make it seem like you’re going to get crystal clear picture quality and that’s not quite the case. The picture quality is not as sharp as the advertisements, but you can still make out most details (can’t read license plates, but you can make out just about anything else). I do really enjoy that the picture quality is still as good at night as it is during the day.
I *highly* recommend buying some heavy duty double-sided mounting tape though. The camera does not suction well to the window AT ALL.
Outside of that, I’d recommend this as a good purchase! I managed to convince a friend of mine to buy one, and she loves it!
I think I won fiance of the year award- Update: helped catch a hit and run driver!
I purchased this as a gift for my fiance, and he cannot stop raving about it. I saw an ad about this camera on Facebook, and decided to take the plunge. Someone recently hit my fiance’s car, and having a dash cam offers a bit more peace of mind in case something like that happens. He was able to get the camera set up quickly, and link it to his phone without issues. The video quality is amazing, day or night, and he’s able to record long periods of video without needing to clear out the camera memory. The camera will also overwrite old footage if it runs out of storage, without needing to be manually cleared.
He is absolutely obsessed with this, and is so happy with this camera so far. Hoping to get one for myself when it finally comes back in stock!
Update, July 2022: I ended up buying myself a dash cam, and it paid itself off earlier this year by catching a hit and run driver! My car was parked in a parking lot and hit, and the person drove off. There was very obvious damage to my door and it ended up being an expensive fix.
My dash cam turned on and caught the license plate, car color, and car type clearly during the night. We were able to find the driver and they were held responsible for the damages they did to my car. I also bought one for my dad, who is very excited to learn how to use his. This little dash cam is great, and I am so happy we have them for our vehicles!
For me it just worked.
I’d have given it 5 stars, but for some reason it doesn’t always link to my iPhone immediately. It begins to use the phone itself for a camera and I have to open the app and tap the camera icon for it to grab the phone. But that’s only occasionally. I haven’t reviewed a ton of footage but so far I’d say I’m happy with video quality.
Other than that it does as advertised. I start the car, the camera comes on. A quarter of a mile or less down the road the blue light changes from flashing to solid to let me know that the app has connected to the phone. Then it’s just a repeat of the procedure. I turn the car off, the camera turns off. I start the car, the camera starts up again.
At the end of a drive you can view each individual drive on the phone app. From each recorded drive you can save a clip of any length of your choosing to your phone. After that you can download it to another device if you like. Handy if you have an incident that you’d like to review and don’t want to sit through a whole drive.
I’ve never used the suction cup mount so I have no review of it’s quality. I purchased a mount that clamps to the rear view mirror stem at the same time as I ordered the camera. I find that with 2 other cameras I own I’ll come out to find the suction cup had let go and the camera is laying on the dash. No more of that for me.
I’ve only had one question since the purchase and Nexar was quick to reply. For the price point I’ll buy another if I need a camera for one of my other vehicles.
