Remote easily fixed
Good inverter, would buy again. If remote not working, the face plate is supplied unstuck & not aligned to switch to allow screwing remote to fixing.
Remote Controlled Inverte
It s quite fan runs 2 secs at switch on so you know it’s working, has to be 45c for fans to come on. The remote I have on at least 15m lead and works fine. Red black connections are very strong and easy to wire up. They recommend not have an external fuse, but I think to perfect your batteries you need a 40A trip which I have on it. Hopefully in time I will find out how reliable it is
This 2kW/4kW peak true sine wave inverter has a very efficient thermal management system such that it will boil a full 3kW kettle from a couple of car batteries with ease. The voltage dropped to 11.5v but the unit compensates well providing you use the heavy duty supplied cables. The current draw was very large upwards of 300 amps. Surprisingly the fans do not come on during this test and the case is barely warm. I have powered the whole house for several hours, fridge, microwave, operating the central heating pumps etc with no issues of noise or overheating so I would say it is a true sine wave, even my solar microinverters would synch with it.
Highly recommended.
Points to note: the standby mode has a high parasitic drain of 2 amps so best to turn it off completely when not in use. There are no displays on the inverter itself the remote unit is very basic but then you do not really need it, just turn it off at the switch. I use a voltmeter on my battery bank to estimate remaining charge.
I bought this Novopal 1500w 12v inverter for my van. Installation is simple. And yes it does work well. I use it for many appliances in my van including a HENRY 1200w vacuum cleaner, Drills, 900w grinders… Etc. No issues in about a year of moderate use.
My only regret, not buying a more powerful unit. I will eventually put this in my car and a bigger 3000w in the van in future.
I will be happy to buy another Novopal inverter.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product - easy to use and works very well.
Easy to install after old unit failed – very good value for money and high rating.
So far so good
Used on a boat where gas was the only source of cooking. Now we have a microwave and kettle and toaster. We run this with 2 leisure batteries 90ah each. Off grid for 4 days and constantly used the microwave toater and kettle with no problems to the battery. This unit has made longer stays on the boat more comfortable.
Works well, Installation took a couple of hours into the motorhome
Took a couple of hours to install as it could not be fitted in the battery compartment. Supplied cables were far to short and had to be replaced.
That said the unit works well, the remote is easy to connect and operate
Doing a great job after 6 months.
I have had a few inverters and this one by far is the most quiet and I find the remote very useful. Decent length of cable to. The build quality of the unit seems substantial and quite heavy, suggesting quality components. time will tell of course but I fully expect this to last. Plugs even fit into it well which sounds daft saying it, but many I have had have very ‘sticky’ sockets, for want of a better description. I do not have an oscilloscope so can’t test to the sine wave quality but the buzz and hum induced in my computer from my old one, is gone. I haven’t heard the fan switch on yet but I am using it at only 30-40% capacity, so wouldn’t expect the fan to come on. Very little heat is generated which is excellent. I should have done an efficiency and max load test upon arrival but didn’t.
NOTE: This is my second unit however, the first was sent back as a precautionary measure because it had a strong smell of fried electronics upon opening the box. May have been nothing but the replacement smelt like new gear. No problem with refund either through Amazon. Hope this helps.
Fitted in to my van with a 100amp ect and it work really well I used it to power a 800 watt mi
Very good quality and value for money I found that having the remote control good for turning off to save power in the battery I have used to heat soup ect in a microwave for breakfast/ lunch and it also didn’t take a lot of battery power from the system a d I found that it only takes a 20 to 30 minute drive to top up or a good day on solar panel 80 wa
Excellent product. Quick delivery. Does what it says on the box. Steadily loading up the system to test its capability with increased loading. So far so good. Not been able to get an oscilloscope on the output to confirm how smooth the output wave form is but it seems to be able to power TV, PC and small electronics OK. USB port is a handy thing. Not sure how accurate the remote unit is as it seems to show my battery at 3/4 with a full charge battery at 13.8vdc. Connections are very solid 6mm studs and the cable provided is sized reasonably well for the service at 25mm2. Mounted flat at the moment as cooling is important for reliability and longevity. I will update the review as I get more experience of the unit and its performance.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
I seem to be missing the plastic cover for the remote display could you please send me an other one thanks
5.0 out of 5 stars Good works well.
Working great. I run a nespresso pod coffee maker, toaster, and kettle. (Not at the same time) Regularly with no problems. Very happy with this 2000w inverter.
Cracking piece of kit. So far so good.
Works well. Could do with longer battery cables but they all seem to come with short ones. I fitted really good crock clips, makes it a lot easier to fit/remove as i don’t have it fitted permanent.
Straight forward to fit and use
Easy to fit and use. Runs my 900w microwave with no problems and also my 600w kettle. I leave my engine running for a few minutes, for battery management. The power leads it comes with are very short, so I addapted a cheap pair of jump leads to get a suitable length.
Got this for my truck to run a 700watt micro wave, so far so good works well must keep engine running when using it for full power so don’t flatten battery’s
The inverter works, which is the most important thing. I can’t speak as to the shape of the wave so I can only hope it’s a pure sine-wave under all circumstances.
The battery plus are of M6 size and the screws to mount the inverter are included.
In the package they provide a generous amount of spare fuses (4, to be precise), however the fuses are not accessible from outside the inverter, which must therefore be opened in case the fuse blows. This is very important to know, as it means that should the fuse blow you will need to open the inverter.
The device, according to the manual, offers an added protection working on the ground wire: when there’s dispersion towards the ground wire, the power is disconnected and the inverter needs to be turned off and on in order to resume working. This is meant to protect a user from electrocution, although it must be said that this kind of protection is very basic and nowhere near an RCD device. I would recommend to pair this device with an RCD device for added protection.
My setup is for a solar powered shed, so I will accompany a consumer unit containing the RCD for safety, but there are versions that plug directly into a standard UK power outlet, so you don’t need to get as fancy.
I liked the quietness when operating, the twin fans only kicking in when required and even when running still quiet. The remote control is very good and informative as tells battery condition. It’s also powerful and runs most of my devices apart from the microwave which it struggles with.
Compac
Converter is compact, not bulky. Does the job we bought it for on our boat. Was able to use a sander without being on shore power. Was recommend this product by a marine engineer. Would recommend
First unit proved unreliable shutting down randomly even with no remote control connected and then the remote control failed. The replacement has worked faultlessly. Compared to rival units I wish it had some sort of display for fault conditions and it would be great to know your power usage. I ordered a separate ammeter with LCD display to serve this purpose. The input terminals are better than found on competitor products, I ran 50mm2 cables to them. The remote cable is a standard computer network cable which is easily upgraded if you need it to be longer.
Update after 2 months:
The second unit would trip out on thermal overload and upon inspection the twin cooling fans did not seem to be working to keep it cool. Another warranty return unfortunately. Let’s see how the third unit goes before I switch to a different manufacturer.
Update after 10 months:
The third unit has proved to be absolutely reliable and has worked faultlessly.
Update after nearly 2 years:
Still working perfectly.
This inverter is brilliant. I have a fridge, 5w lights and computer charger on my when I switch it on everytime and it handles it no problems. Easy to install and I have had this for 3 months now and travelled through 16 countries.
Thanks
Camper va
I have not fitted it yet as. My build is not finished yet I will get back when it is wired up and all it finished I can then comment further Leonard Brady
Well constructed, quality feel, works surprisingly well for the price.
Remote cable connection between the 230 outlets makes for a rather untidy install, would be more aesthetically pleasing if terminated at the back near the 12 vdc connections so it could be hidden from view, On the subject of the 12vdc, the length of pre-made cable supplied is ok to check it works once delivered but unless your mounting it to the side of the battery then its just a waste.
Other than than , Alls good
So, finally got around to hooking this up in my camper conversion. So far I’ve tested it to 2000w. Good news is that it handled the 2kw. Bad news is that the cables supied too link the inverter to the battery are way to thin (16mm2). Cable started melting after a few minutes as that size of cable is only rated to 110amps (1300 watts or less than 50% of the rated wattage) . So I have to use thicker cable, particularly taking account of the 6000w surge rating. Will update once wired properly to see if it gets close to the 3000w load.
I have a 240v 50watt mini bar fridge that would not run on lesser & non-pure sine inverters.
This worked immediately, runs silently, and feels very high quality piece of kit.
Will need to run a watt meter to see how efficient it really is, but since the fans never kick in, and stays cool to the touch, it seems like it must be fairly efficient.
Will update my review if I have problems or further remarks to make.
This review was written after 2 weeks of running the inverter in my off grid shed.
connected to leisure battery in motorhome and wired through a changeover switch means I can use 240v points when not on mains supply. Useful to have the remote control panel as the inverter is inside a seat so would be awkward to switch on and off without it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Effective
Used as main power for narrow boat items include washing machine toaster and microwave. Fan’s a bit noisy and ced on at low temperature
Love this, glad in bought it,,, it runs my 2500 what kettle without any problems and my 900 watt micro wave.. The seller is very helpfull if you have a problem. So easy to install but remeber to put a fuse between the inverter and the battery. Would I recommend this, yes definitely.
