Very good fit and comfortable. Bit heavy and hot but that’s inevitable because of the protective fibre. They are very high waisted, maybe 10cm higher than normal trousers, but that’s a good thing because it makes it easier to wear with a belt to hold all that weight up. I bought an infinitely adjustable webbing-type belt with a quick release catch which worked well.

I am a 34″ wasit with 32 leg and medium trousers are fine. they fitted over my jeans, and although an exact fit for the waist were slightly long in the leg.
glsd I didnt buy the large!
These are padded with the anti chainsaw material so I am sure they will be warm, especially over jeans so likely I will wear just these trousers.

the black with orange pleats look very smart.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are great trousers, not too cheap (but it’s not really a product you want to skimp on), really comfortable, good range of movement and not too heavy.

Thin and flexible. Go on over my jeans, and I am 1.75M and 120 Kg
No reason to believe they will not work, but luckily haven’t found out ye

Sweat buckets in these things, but extremely comfortable. Can’t have enough safety equipment on when you are working with a chainsaw

Great chainsaw trousers we have purchased and we’ve purchased quite a few. Good fit, comfortable and allow easy movement. Quick delivery, good price. So far very happy, will see how the hold up over a period of time

Great and comfortable. Interesting to note the protection is for the front of the legs only. Also difficult to vouch for how much protection they offer, you would assume they do as they say on the tin in an emergency

It does the job, is a bit heavy would be worth adding zipper vents to the back, and maybe reinforce the cuffs on the leg they don’t hold up to good in heavy brash, otherwise they are fine

No idea how much protection these trousers provide against chainsaw slips, and have no intention of finding out, but I can say that they fit me well (34″ waist, 32″ inside leg) and feel robust. Initially I wore them over my jeans, but they were too hot. I found I needed a belt as the trousers do not come in at the waist. I think its possible to wear with braces as there are buttons on either side of the front wasitband and a bib at the rear about a couple of inches deep, but I’ve not tried that. Pockets are sizeable for keeping a mobile phone in. They fit snugly over the Oregon Yukon boots and seem to hold themselves in place over the boot when bending.

What can I say…I’ve never owned protective trousers before but figured I need some since doing more (at home) chainsaw work. Right out of the box I was impressed. Did not expect the material but it was light and very comfortable. I’m 6ft and a 34-36 waist…these are snug but very comfy and I don’t won’t them baggy so I’d say true to size…I didn’t have trousers on underneath tho so if your the kinda person that wants to wear trousers underneath then perhaps get a few sizes bigger. Clearly I’ve not had to test the safety features as yet and hope I’ll never have to but these are comfy and just what I wanted.

My hubby works outside using various heavy machinery these trousers were warm Comfortable and saved his legs from getting scratched and cut when cutting hedges and suchlike. Usually thorns and sharp branches penetrate his trousers but these were great and protected him

Arrived quicker than stated. Being new to working with chainsaws I opted for the type c trousers, just in case. These seemed to be the best value I could find. I’ve tried them on and they are quite large. I’m a 33″ waist and they are quite loose. They’re also quite long. Not a problem when I’m wearing boots though. They are quite a soft fabric so I don’t think they’ll last long when they get snagged by brambles and thorns. That said, they should at least last through the winter which is why I opted for a cheap pair before I spend big money on a proper pair when I start climbing.
All in I’m happy with this purchase. Hopefully I won’t need to test the actual safety design of them.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought these for occasional climbing jobs. They’re perfect for my purpose.
Sizing is an issue with all chainsaw trousers, often needing a size or two bigger. I always wear 36W 34L jeans which are just slightly loose on me. I got these Oregons in XL and they’re OK, maybe a bit too loose. A belt will hold them but the waist bunches up on me so I’ve bought braces.
I prefer them a bit loose for climbing but I could easily wear these XL over jeans or trackies. They are also longer fitting than the measurements suggest. I could have easily taken the L.
Quality wise they’re alright. Very good for the price but not heavy duty by any means. Very nice material to wear, could be worn all day by any worker. I definitely wouldn’t trust them to stop my 4hp saw but ideal for the top handle I think.
What they are not is heavy duty protection but they aren’t advertised as such. I’m sure the reports of being damaged by brambles etc could be right. I wouldn’t use them for that kind of work.
Velcro pockets are a bit annoying too.
All in all, I’d definitely buy again for what I want them for.

They’re decent trousers for someone like me that uses the chainsaw occasionally. I did find them quite warm but that’s the trade off for getting full protection.
In use they’re comfortable, and flexible so clambering about isn’t an issue.
They’re a little heavy so I use braces.

I haven’t tested the safety element and hopefully never will!

These are very comfortable and small is a woman’s size 12. They do get warm when using them in the summer but that’s to be expected with the extra padding at the front. Thankfully I don’t know how good the protection is but ive been informed, on a demo they protect well.

These are great, so much lighter than some other brands, they are also more flexible allowing a much greater range of movement, so far holding up well but only had for 2 weeks so will see how they last.

Obviously someone in dispatch missed the detail of my order ie SIZE ! XXL means I am not a stick insect .apart from that these look great and I can’t wait to lose some weight to get into them !.

As a 1st time user of a new chainsaw I wanted to make sure I was protected but couldn’t justify 150+ for a pair of chainsaw trousers. For occasional weekend use these fit the purpose perfectly.

Very good quality and prompt delivery. You’ll most likely need to add braces to keep them up though.

A good fit and quite warm for the British weather, not sure how they would stand up to colder climates. Also not sure if they would work when needed, which hopefully they will. Like all safety gear it is bought in the hope that it is never put to the tst.

he chain saw trousers are a good fit although had to do a lot of work to work out the correct size, brasses flap on back is good covers up your lower back when betiding, good length and comfortable to work i

Good fit, accurate. V comfortable and warm, great for autumn, winter and early spring, but I suspect will be too warm once the weather gets better. Although there are belt loops, these are high waited and are definitely more comfortable worn with braces rather than belts. (Ask your partner to get you a set of Stihl or Husky braces to match your ‘saw for Xmas!)

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersPants are overall very comfortable and warm, easy to wash, thankfully I do not know how they would stand up to a chainsaw but from the feel of them they have plenty of material in the main impact zones. I carry keys and a foldable pocket knife in my pockets and already after around a month of wearing them there is a hole starting at the bottom of my front pocket, another downside is the pockets are very small and held together with velco so my hand gets grated when I go in to my pockets. Other than that I am happy with these pants

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHoping never to test these in anger however they appear to be an affordable Type C solution to the Chainsaw PPE question set.

You could spend hundreds on the appropriate PPE however you have to draw the line somewhere dependant perhaps on personal circumstances. I would argue Type A not sufficient where no second chances are given and these come in at around 100.

My only concern at this stage would be the outer material snaggs and pulls easily on brambles and so on, therefore I deduct a star on those grounds.

Delivery was lightning fast. Delivered the day after ordering (not Prime), amazing considering the lockdown.

    Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought these after hearing horror stories about people not getting the right kit when using a chainsaw. I was worried they would be too heavy, hot or restrictive. They are none of these. They will be warm in the summer but a small price to pay for some excellent protection.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought size medium and they fit correctly without needing a belt, I usually wear 32inch waist and a 34inch leg. Look nice and are comfortable to wear, as expected they feel heavier to wear than normal trousers.

The ideal chainsaw trousers for ground work. A good level of padding and protection provided over the front of the legs which allows them to be breathable and comfortable. You wont get as hot and sweaty in these as you would with type C trousers.

Bought as my spare ‘fat guy’ trousers (an after xmas issue) to save me destroying the waist button on my SIP type. Good fit and stretch and when coupled with the braces work well to keep the trousers in place. The material isn’t as hardy as more expensive trousers but as with most troos patches of material for repair are included so should see a good few years if they’re used occasionally and with care around thorny brush or sharp edges.

Obviously this review might be different if I had need of the protection elements and suffered injury, so all I can say about that is that I am reassured by the pedigree and the certification.
As a pair of working trousers they fit well (2XL easily fits my 38 inch waist and long leg frame, such that I need a belt).
They look good and are comfortable to move in, no tight seams. Mind you they are hot, I don’t know how you professionals cope with the higher grade protection. These have front protection only, but I don’t climb trees for a living so this seems enough. If you want full leg protection you should upgrade, but you probably already knew that.

Thankfully I don’t know if these work as they should and I don’t want to find out. Incredibly hot to wear but good to know at least some of you is protected while you use a chain saw.

Arrived very quickly. These are decent trousers, fit comfortably albeit a little high waisted for me. They allow freedom of movement which is great when working on a slope – it gets to be very hard work wearing the stihl or other type C all round padded ones on along shift in the woods! Only thing is the velcro on the pockets, although very useful it scratches the backs of my hands quite badly whenever I put my hand in my pockets. Other than that though a good pair of trousers for the money.

They are comfortable and fit fine. They were ordered very late for a Christmas present, so when the delivery date was early Jan I was not surprised. So you can imagine my surprise and joy when they arrived on the 23rd, I even had time to wrap them.

  32. TahliaCoppola says:

Trousers arrived in good time and fitted well, they would probably benefit from a pair of button on braces as the elasticated waist allows the trousers to slip down when working. Luckily I have not tested their ability to deal with a running chain saw yet !!!!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIf like me you are an occasional user of a chain saw and feel the need for all round protection, then these are the trousers for you. They give all round leg protection and peace of mind. As they are all round protective trousers, they are worn alone and not over the top of other trousers. Although utilising modern, lightweight, protective fabrics, there are several layers and the trousers are quite bulky and heavy. I would definitely buy again and recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersSafety gear, especially chainsaw safety gear is something you never want to find out first hand how good it is. I only really need type A for what I do but the course I’m going on stipulates type C so I got these as the price seemed reasonable. My only gripe really is the sizing, I am at a loss why manufacturers do the small medium and large thing for trousers. It makes buying stuff on line tricky, particularly for folk like me who don’t have the time for sending stuff back. I’m a 35 waist with a short leg and these fit ok but I’m sort of in between at that and think maybe the large might have more mobility but at the expense of a much longer leg. My point being that waist size and leg length makes for a more informed choice for the mail order customer so manufacturers take note.

Griping aside I’ve worn them a few times now and they’ve been fine, they’re warm in the legs where the padding is but cold around the bum where the material is very thin. ( a strange sensation on a cold day ). I’ve not worn them in warm weather yet so I can’t say what they will be like then.

Fortunately the safety aspect hasn’t been put to the test yet.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery good for the use of cutting up logs and trees, comfortable to wear and feel that you are getting a bit of protection from them. If I were to offer any advice it would be to consider getting braces for them as they do tend to hang off your waist a bit and you find yourself pulling them up now and again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usersarrived very quickly and as described, the medium size that I ordered seem correct for my size 30 waist 32 leg but I will definitely need to wear a belt and do plan to wear them as over trousers so everything should be fine, my choice of over trouser use is mainly that they feel quiet thin on the rear (both legs and bum) The front protection is ok for me as im not a forrester.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersOregon Yukon Type A Chainsaw Trousers Large My son has bought a large piece of land and is pruning/felling a number of trees. He has used a chainsaw before, but I was concerned that he was working late and becoming tired. Hence I bought these trousers. He didn’t initially wear them, but I nagged and he put them on.
That evening he came home very grateful. He had let the chain saw swing against his leg when the blade had not stopped rotating. The trousers did their work – not even a bruise.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI am a new chainsaw operator and needed some personal protection gear.I was aware of Oregon in the chainsaw field and decided to purchase their trousers because of the price and good reviews on other sites.I was very pleased with the product when I opened the packet, they are very well made, fit comfortably with a nice stretchy material, belt loops, braces buttons and three pockets, they seem a little lighter than my mates trousers which are thick and less flexible. They are front protection only and I am not about to try and attempt to saw my leg off to see if the protection works.I would have thought that Oregon would have done that on the research and development phase.Overall I am very pleased with them ,will report back when they have had a bit of work as to durability.
