I liked the fact it is easy to install and the speaker volume is decent.. does decent noise cancellation.
The only drawback it needs to be kept near… Otherwise it would sound like you are talking from far.

After a lot of research, this was the best option around 10k bracket
if you want a higher quality, you can look for Jabra but for this budget segment, i found poly to be doing a good job

I work from home and have used Bluetooth headphones for years, this is a lifesaver! It seems to weed out the background noises pretty well and the quality is top notch.

I actually prefer this one over the sync 40. It is pretty much the same but smaller in size and lighter on the sound. This is a pretty good device to have especially during working from home day. I do not have to use my computer speakers. I also do not have wear my headset all the time for clear sound. With this device, I was able to turn any room into a conference room so I can be easily heard as well as get clear sound from the other people on my team. This microphone is great for those looking to make any private room a conference room. One thing I will say is that this device a good job with drowning out the surrounding noise. You are able to still hear a people talking through the speakers without it interfering with the microphone. This makes it a great device to have in rooms that may not have the best acoustics. The first thing I noticed right out of the box is that the device is definitely longer than most devices. I actually prefer to have something smaller. This is longer so it is harder to put in your bag and take on the go. Regardless, this is something you will can place right next to you laptop and use it. One thing I will say is to not put this close to your fan ventilation just because it could pick up that noise if you put it directly next the vent. Because of the portability, you can easily adjust it accordingly. It has a nice sturdy material that also allow you to easily control the microphone and speaker without issue. The sound that comes from this is pretty loud so adjust accordingly. You can hang up on calls as well. You do not need to be connected to the computer in order for this device to work so be aware of that. You can connect via bluetooth. The microphone has grip on the bottom so it will not slide.. It uses a traditional type c usb port and does have a built in battery. You can use this device while it is plugged in. The cord is okay but is is not meant to go too far from your laptops. It can be connected via bluetooth and the connection is pretty stable. I do not see any issues with lag but the connection quality of the sound and video is also depending on your internet speed and software. There is a button to mute the microphone if needed. My voice goes through pretty clear and I do not have to be too close to the microphone/speaker at all. The speaker is very clear and easy to hear people on the other. The only thing is you probably need to adjust the sensitivity on the computer which I recommend because this microphone can be super sensitive. Other than that this this device works great for conference calls and such where you need multiple people on a call. It stays powered for quite sometime and you can pretty much take it with you on the go. The battery actually last for quite sometime. You can go through several hours before you need to charge it and you can use it while it is plugged in. Overall this is a good device. You definitely want this if you want something a bit more compact with the same performance as the sync 40. The only real difference is the sound quality is a bit lower.

The Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone is one device from a range of similar Sync products by Plantronics, and although it is at the bottom end it still performs well and is simple to use. It is really designed for work purposes, and other meetings, but the sound quality is decent enough to enjoy a bit of music when you want to chill. This is a compact all-in-one device that can be easily carried around with you, and is ideal for a home office or working from home as many of us now do. It is simple plug-and-play and being USB powered it never needs charging – it features both USB-A or USB-C connectivity to suit old and new laptops. Currently around one hundred pounds this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 is the basic model so it might be worth checking the features of the more expensive Sync models if you will be using one a lot — reasonable value at the price ( I would like it to have been a bit cheaper!) it gets five stars for features and performance.

This was literally a case of plugging into a spare usb port on my laptop. It worked immediately, nothing else to do. The sound quality is absolutely superb both ways, no complaints. It all comes in a small form factor fitting on a small desk. Simple controls to adjust the volume. Brilliant brilliant product.

My husband have used this with his laptops and cellphone for audio and video calls for conference calls. This allows he to hear audio on his laptop without the need for the laptop’s speakers or microphone, it sounds great and everybody says they can hear him clearly as well with no echos. He like that the device has touch controls on front for volume and mute, which he use quite often. When you tap the mute button the light on the device turns red to show you that it’s muted. This makes things much smoother to use. There is a built-in USB-A cable that neatly stores on the bottom by wrapping it around the base of the unit. This keeps everything nice and neat for easy portability. There is also a USB-A to USB-C adapter included, that is very convenient when using with cellphone or newer laptops that has only USB-C ports. Overall, a great solution for nice and clear audio with easy controls for mute and volume to use with all portable devices.

This is a really nice addition to my working from home desk setup.
I spend a lot of time on Teams and I’m always trying to find the mute button or end call button on screen, but you can do this from the unit instead of on screen, very useful when sharing/presenting other programs. You can also call up teams by pressing a button so you can have it hidden then it’s easy to retrieve.
It’s smaller than I thought which is great as it’s so portable and can easily slip in a laptop bag.
Speaker and microphone quality is very good and it really does feel like a well made unit. Works via usb-a or usb-c equally well. You can also use it as a speaker for music. Not a cheap unit but a good product.

    Great for Teams

I have a remote office setup with a laptop dock and two monitors. The sound and mic wasn’t cutting it on those, and I hate wearing headphones when I’m in meetings almost all day, so I bought this. It has a very niche use, but for me it is perfect and I would recommend it..

    – Simplicit : touches tactiles usage intuitif

This Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone measures 7.17″ x 3.52″ x 1.28″ and weighs 5.4 ounces. This Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone comes with a 2 mic array and is equipped with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. There are 4 capacitive touch-sensitive buttons on the body of this speakerphone that allows for easy control of volume down, mic muting, volume up, and answer/hang up calls.

I used this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone for about two months with my custom-made Win11 Desktop, My ASUS Zenbook Duo laptop, and my M1 Macbook Air. This Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone worked on each device seamlessly thanks to the USB A to USB C adapter. There is also downloadable app support available on the Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone product page which allows for more granular control over settings and behavioral attributes.

Calls on this device were fantastic even with substantial background noise. For example, I took a Zoom call from a beachfront restaurant and the background sound was so low no one was the wiser. In fairness, I was using my ASUS Zenbook Duo laptop and that device has quite remarkable AI features that isolate background noise. However, when my computer’s AI features combined with those included with this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone it allowed me to get through an hour-long call from the beach with background noise being almost imperceptible.

What I liked most about this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone was:
    – Call quality. Calls sound remarkable. The mics do a good job of picking up your voice without the user having to lean into an unnatural position.
    – Speaker quality. This speaker sounds far better than I anticipated for something this small. When I mention that I mean this speaker isn’t just good for listening to voices, music, and even the predefined white noises that are built into the speaker sound good on it as well.
    – Works with Call Management Software that requires USB connectivity. Some work-at-home representatives need devices that connect to computers via USB. This device worked fine with my call manager, however, your mileage may vary.
    – Portability. This speaker is diminutive in size and extremely lightweight. That makes it easy to store and take along with you for your commute or even long-distance travel.
    – Indicator light status bar. I like knowing when my mic is live or muted. This Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone has a large status bar light that shows solid red when the mic is muted and turns green when the mic is hot.

What I liked least about this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone was:
    – It has to be plugged in for it to work as this model of the Poly Sync does not include an internal battery nor is it Bluetooth Capable.

Overall, if your work requires you to take conference calls or connect via Skype for Business, Zoom, Google Meet, or the like, then this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone is a great way to field those calls without being weighed down by a headset. I do not take a volume of calls with my work but the calls I have to take are easily fielded through this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone while using my organization’s CMS. The speaker is pleasant to listen to both in-call and while listening to light music to pass the workday along. The only downside I experienced with this speaker is its need to be connected via a wire due to the absence of both Bluetooth and an internal battery. Still for its price, and the ability to untether oneself from a headset, this Plantronics Poly Sync 10 USB Speakerphone is an A+ product. 4.5 out of 5.0

I do a lot of zoom screen shares for work, and use a MacBook Pro plugged into an external monitor (in clamshell mode). I usually wear AirPods, but I’ve gotten tired of having something in my ears, so I’ve been trying to find a good speakerphone solution.

The Poly Sync 10 is a decent all-in-one speakerphone unit with a sleek design that is easy to operate. It is automatically detected as a USB audio device on macOS with no software necessary to install. It’s got a very businesslike design, and the touch-sensitive controls are extremely easy to use.

As a speaker, the sound quality is decent –perfect for speakerphone calls, and reasonably serviceable for music. It doesn’t sound as good as the built-in speakers on my 16″ MacBook Pro, though, and my stereo speakers also sound far better. Nonetheless, it works well, and for human voice, it’s very clear (and probably what it was tuned for).

As a microphone, it’s also decent, and adept at longer-range pickup. I’ve tried it from 5 feet away and it still sounds reasonably decent. That being said, I’m usually sitting at my desk ~3 feet away from these devices, so that’s what I focused my testing on. I compared the recorded sound quality to a few other options I have been trying out –like a Blue Yeti microphone, the Logitech C920 Webcam, AirPods, and EarPods. All were tested with the system preferences software input level set to the highest setting, and I tested typing on my Apple keyboard at the end of each test to compare background noise cancellation. Please see the attached video for reference.

The sound quality of the Poly was decent, though in my opinion the Blue Yeti microphone and the Apple EarPods both beat the Poly when it came to recorded voice quality. In terms of background noise cancellation, the Poly Sync 10 seemed better at canceling out background sounds like typing compared to the Blue Yeti and the Logitech C920 Webcam. However, both the AirPods and the EarPods had significantly better performance canceling out the sound of my typing.

Overall, for a Mac user that wants a compact all-in-one device, this is a good option. That being said, I have found myself preferring the combination of my Blue Yeti microphone and external speakers. It’s geekier but is clearer for both mic and sound quality.

I hope you have found this review to be helpful!

Easy to use, great design, midrange sound + mic quality

When I switched my home office from a Macbook to a Mac Studio, I didn’t realize how much my Google Meet meetings would suffer. The speakers on the Mac are adequate but not great and the mic quality on my webcam was also subpar, so I found a somewhat workable solution using a nice pair of bluetooth headphones. But I hate wearing headphones for long periods, it makes my ears hot and squeezes my head, and if I put them down without turning them off they they run out of battery and I can’t hear important notifications.

Enter this conference speaker, I just plugged it in and started playing some music… I was immediately impressed. This sounds so much better than the built in Mac or Macbook speakers. A rich sound with much more noticeable bass. It’s so much better, that it’s now my default speaker for all audio playback. And even though it’s not a large room party sound system, it does create a rich local area sound that perfect for working to, even if you feel like rocking out. But what about the main purpose of it, using it for conference calls? Equally impressive. Great quality with no complaints from the other end of the call and the mute light reflects the app itself and I can mute and unmute from the speaker or the app which is convenient. It also filtered out all the fan and motor sounds in my office. Best of all I don’t have to wear the headphones and I never miss important notifications.

The design has a simple business aesthetic with some nice touches, like the attractive fabric speaker cover, the informative light that indicates mute status and volume level, and a cord wrap under the speaker to keep the desk tidy. The recommended Poly Lens app is not required to use the speaker, but it does give you the ability to update the firmware, play ambient sounds, adjust sound effects/equalizer and has some nice mini tools and tips. The built in cord has USB A end, but it also comes with a USB C adapter if you need it. Being built-in also keeps the cable from accidentally becoming unplugged if you move the speaker.

If I’m hunting for cons… Since the cable is built-in that means it’s not replaceable if it becomes damaged and if you need a longer cable you need to get an extension cable. Even further grasping, the black plastic shows dust? The usb c adapter is a different color (black vs grey) than the cable? Really nothing worth removing a star from the review, since the built-in cable also provides a lot of benefits (tidiness and a secure connection) and the adapter is just a bonus item likely tucked into the back of a computer. Overall, I highly recommend this for the work from home office to step up your audio quality for both meetings and music.
