I have had Robert’s radios in the past am have always been very pleased with them. I bought this model as I wanted one that was DAB Plus so that I could listen to my favourite oldies station of Boom Radio UK.

We bought this to replace a cheaper model and are not disappointed. Looks good, easy to handle, wide range of digital stations, excellent sound quality, very efficient volume control. It even shows the time! Hyghly recommended.

This product bought tears to my husbands eyes as it reminded him of his father in the kitchen doing the dishes. My husband is 65.

Nice retro design though mine had a few marks on it from when it was made.

Although it has more bass than it’s cheaper, smaller Rambler brother I think the sound of the smaller Rambler is more natural.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our Users**I’m not a Vine reviewer and paid 130 of my own money for the radio**
I’ve always had Roberts radios and have a small collection from the 70’s and 80’s all in mint condition. I’ve always bought Pure for DAB and this was bought to replace a Pop Maxi, which had given up after nearly 10,000 hours of use. Out of the box it’s obviously a Roberts and reminds me of a retro-modern version of the RFM3. Set-up as with all DAB radios’ is very straight forward; you basically plug it in a turn it on. However, although having the screen on top may improve aesthetics, it also impedes the functionality with more limited menu options. I’m still trying to work out the presets, which aren’t as intuitive as my Pure sets. I currently have the same station on two and there’s nothing in the instructions to explain how to override this. I won’t use the alarm or timer functions, but can imagine they would be equally as confusing.
Sound-wise this is a big improvement over the Pop Maxi, which despite being a stereo model had quite a flat sound. This Rambler is much livelier although it doesn’t doesn’t offer much stereo separation. Build quality is nice in comparison to the Pure, which is basically a plastic box.
Overall I’m happy with it and can see no issues with using it for up to 8 hours a day. My only gripe is the cost. For the same money you can find a fully restored Hacker Hunter, which is a real radio with a soul and not just a box of circuits.
