When you’re doing caulking it’s always a nightmare and by the end of it you end up with your hand aching from squeezing the trigger on the cheap caulking gun. This one is amazing, yes it’s expensive but worth it as it takes always the pain and reduces the time taken to do those laborious diy jobs that can make or break what a room looks like. Since buying this, it’s a fight in our house over who does the caulking just so they can use this tool! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy hands could no longer use the manual gun, so I nearly gave up decorating. But this is amazing!
Only downside is the size and weight is quite cumbersome and struggles in small spaces and not able to angle well, but since that is a minor part of decorating I still say it’s brilliant!

This is so easy to use. I am actually enjoying doing the sealing jobs – no hand pain afterwards! Brilliant.

It’s really easy to use and the variable speed is great, you do need to find the best speed for you and the size of the bead you want. It’s good value for money and makes the job a lot easier if you suffer from arthritis like me, one down side is the plastic pushing disc wobbles and if you don’t ensure the cartridge is seated right it can push on one side and that makes a mess but only happened once hence the 4 star rating.

Sold it shortly after use as I was hopeless using it.

This is an excellent addition to my tool kit. Reading the reviews people complain you can’t adjust the flow rate but dear god, it can be set to come out nice and slow and if you want it faster, stop and adjust the speed.

I read a review about this product and happy with the item however I am very disappointed with Ryobi as the offer promised a free items in December offer when purchasing additional Ryobi equipment I registered my equipment and free item has never been delivered or honoured very Disappointed and feel the offer was a con or a scam.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is well worth the cost some days I put a full box of tubes through it, the speed setting is on the high side I’ve never used it on full always in the slower settings, Ive had a few tubes burst in it just wipe with a rag and carry on it doesn’t jam the drive. Long 380 ml tubes will fit if you trim them to the back of the plunger, the gun is heavy enough to stay standing on the battery end with a full tube in it so is easy to hand when you put it down, a 5 amp battery will last all day long with heavy use, mine is nearly 3 years old and apart from being covered in sealant is still going strong.

I LOVE this, it really works, nice even bead, no blobs as I let the trigger go and re-squeeze on a manual one. I am stupidly glad I got this. I must be SO sad…..

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is the most recent or many Ryobi power tools that we have purchased. The single battery type for all devices is really handy- and certainly makes most of the tools a cheaper proposition. We bought this because we were using a lot of grab adhesive and it seemed a quicker and less tiresome way of applying the stuff. The level of control over the flow of adhesive is very good, and there is a lot of adjustability. There are, however, several shortcomings over a standard caulk gun, which you might want to consider. Firstly, while the level of control over flow is good, the device is pretty unwieldy. It’s fairly large, and once a battery is attached, quite heavy too. I would recommend only using the smaller battery packs with this item. Secondly, the gun can not accommodate all caulk tubes. For example, gripfill, a popular grab adhesive, comes in tubes that have to be cut down for use in this device. This is not necessarily the fault of this item, however we’ve never had this problem with a manual caulk gun. I definitely wouldn’t advise against buying this item- I just think you need to reflect carefully on whether the improvements over a manual equivalent (better flow control) are worth it given the price and the fact that the device is more difficult to manoeuvre than its manual counterpart.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI had to do some silicone sealing jobs around the house, but because I have an RSI, using the usual type of caulking gun is not on any more. Then I saw this in a Ryobi email (I have a number of Ryobi tools and a couple of batteries). I looked at some reviews and tests on Youtube and decided to get one. I am very glad I did. It is comfortable and easy to use, and with the 5amp battery did everything without needing to change battery. I didn’t need to have the speed setting any higher than the lowest. Very happy!

Takes the hand pain out of caulking, but takes some practice to get the bead thickness right, even on its slowest speed setting. It could do with a slower speed.

Another great idea from Ryobi. I had a problem with adhesive squirting inside the tube due to the lose fit of the adhesive tube, took a long time to clear up the mess. The solution I used was to use a 2 mm sheet of foam and wrap the tube half way round and for the complete length. This gave a perfect fit of the adhesive tube to the unit and stopped the leak inside the adhesive tube and overall was a lot easier to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirst use (on the minimum speed) ended up bursting the Sealant within it’s tube, and plastering the entire gun mechanism with silicon which took an age to peel off (after leaving it to set).

The ‘slow speed’ as others have said – is too fast, and going higher is just out of the question. Ryobi – take note – we aren’t all professional Sealant users/decorators. That said, this won’t take professional sealant tubes as they are too long to fit into the gun holder. If you’re prepared to lose some of the sealant and then trim the tube down to fit, then you can still use them.

Otherwise… it’s been OK for most of the applications I’ve used it for (adhesive to fit coving & skirting, and then caulking for both).

well i thought this was just a gimmick thing, when i came across it, but having to seal a lot of bathrooms and use a large amount of thick trade adhesive for a job which was near impossible to get out of the tubes with a normal silicone gun, i decided to buy this, it is the dogs danglies, easy to use and you can adjust speed to suit, effortless to use and compare to makita, Milwaukee prices its a no brainer get it you won’t be disappointed

Never needed one as managed with the manual caulking guns … But had two big job to do – lots of DIY.

No point for a few small jobs but if there is lots to do then this is good value.

Took a bit of practice to get flow right but a few mins of practice got this sorted. Have to say much easier to get a good line than with the manual ones as you only have to manage the speed of movement and not squeeze regularly again.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’ve got loads of Ryobi cordless kit and I’d looked at this a number of times, deciding each time that the cost (seemed expensive for what it is) was not worth it. How much easier and better could it make caulking something? So I eventually ‘gave in’ and bought it and now wish I’d bought it years ago. It really does make the job easier, quicker and you can get a much neater finish. That’s because you don’t have to concentrate on the amount of material you’re using because you set that before you start the job. It’s not particularly heavy but it can be a bit awkward in tight spaces because of its bulk. It loses a star because although it’s great, it’s still too expensive for what it is. Having said that, I would buy it again.

A bit expensive for what it is but if you have a lot of caulking/sealing to do it’ll save you an achey hand and give a smooth, uninterrupted finish. The slowest setting seems to give the best results.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI found the ordinary manual gun impossible to use for any length of time: it just hurt my hand too much. So I very extravagantly bought this Ryobi, and it’s great! I use it at its slowest speed (still tends to run away with me a bit, but then I’m still a DIY novice with it). Money well spent because I can now actually use filler on ceiling cracks etc when previously I couldn’t. Had to get the battery and charger so it wasn’t cheap, but I expect I’ll end up buying some other Ryobi kit eventually.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLike all my Ryobi tools this is well made, comfortable to use and performs exactly as you would hope it would.

May seem a very lazy choice of tool, but I have problems with my grip in my hands. With this tool I can get a lovely smooth finish with no discomfort – plus it is much more controllable than the ‘manual’ types.

I thought that this would be just one of those gimmicky tools but it is actually brilliant. Excellent for long length cooking jobs, finish jobs in Half the time guaranteed. Definitely would recommend

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve seen these before and decided that they were for lazy people, but I’m currently 3/4’s through a job that has required 10 tubes of no more nails. I’ve been running 2.4m long beads of adhesive along pieces of timber before screwing them to the floor. This tool was a life saver. I already have some Ryobi tools so I have plenty of “One+” batteries. This was the obvious choice and compared with a Makita one for over two hundred pounds, it’s good value for money. I wouldn’t buy one and a battery if this is the only Ryobi One+ device that you intend to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tool for bigger jobs

Tis gun is brilliant, leaves a perfect bead because it continualy pumps unlike a manual hand pump gun. Found it easy to use with one hand working from step ladders.

I’ve lost count of how many Ryobi tools I’ve bought in the last year. One thing I do know is that I haven’t had a fault, breakage or any other issue with any of them. I bought this to help with new guttering, facia’s and soffits and it proved to be invaluable

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have it just up from lowest speed and thats enough. If you happen to be the worlds fastest sealer; the highest setting is super fast. Good for filling crevices and gaps. If a battery and charger was included for a little extra then would be even better.

Once you use one of these; unlikely you’ll go back to manual.

1st Class – Does What It Says It Will – As Long As You Already Have The Ryobi+ System, You Need One Of These. I Understand People Saying It’s Expensive With A Battery & Charger – BUT – It’s Meant For The People Who Have Already Got The System.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersExcellent tool especially when you’re trying to get that quality finish. But I personally don’t think the price tag is worth it. But this may be because I’m not using it in a works sense.

The gun isn’t that heavy till you put the battery on. Various speed settings is excellent. You can tell buy the feel of the motor as you rewind the piston it is of a good quality mechanism.

Pros: Ryboi quality, Quality build, Will give a professional finish.

Cons: Cost, Plastic body, Batteries are expensive.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersAs a window fitter who goes through dozens of tube of silicone per week this is a lifesaver. I’ve had repetitive strain injuries to my hand from pumping silicone guns and this makes it a breeze. Granted it’s quite bulky and heavy but when your going through a tube every couple of minutes it’s a fair price to pay. Batteries last for ages in it, and the speed adjustment works a treat. Easy to control but I wouldn’t use it for fine detail work.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI got fed up buying caulking guns that cost a few quid that only last a short time i decided to get this Ryobi CCG1801MG One Plus CCG-1801MG 18V Caulking Gun Bare Unit – Green and what can i say it works,it puts filler etc where you want to put it.
Is it worth the money not really its a gimmicky tool that with the cost of the battery and charger makes it obscenely expensive, but I’ll say it again it works! easy to use easy to control gives a nice bead of what ever is in the tube you’r using. Its not the lightest of tools but again it works. Its a shame the battery and charger cost so much because the gun itself at just over fifty quid is not cheap but not bad value for a well made quality tool.
