About Us

“What do you think about going into die casting?”

It was September 1943 when this proposition was brought to Ryobi founder Yutaka Urakami.

The proposal came from the manager of Mitsubishi Electric’s Fukuyama Works in Hiroshima . Yutaka, then operating a small trading company, was no technician and, with no knowledge of die casting, had to ask “What’s die casting?” The manager explained and Yutaka immediately set to work reading about the process, learning about it from scratch.

After this momentous conversation and careful consideration, his reply to the manager was decisive: “I’ll do it.” This decision came just one week after Yutaka heard the term “die casting” for the very first time.

Top quality impact driver. Well made, powerful, and the battery lasts forever. The one battery for all is a great concept and I’m looking forward to replacing my old tools with this brand in the near future.

I have recently bought a few Ryobi garden tools and am very impressed, so I thought I would venture in to DIY tools. Never had an impact driver before always relied on using electric drill. This driver is much easier to use, the tool is very robust, feels good and balanced in the hand, feels like a really good quality product. Battery life is good, although would recommend buying a spare battery. The bag is light weight, but ideal for carrying the driver, battery and charger. I would definitely recommend this item.

Good value and easy to use although not too sure about the amount of power & torque being adequate as it couldn’t handle those large self tapping screws into brickwork despite the correct pilot hole being drilled first.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersStunning piece of kit, just stunning. This is my first Ryobi, I’m so impressed that I’ve bought a drill and Jigsaw and the batteries are all interchangeable. Full marks, I don’t have a bad word to say about it.

This is so useful for doing DIY maintenance on a car. It saved a lot of torture and hand cramp by avoiding using a spanner or manual wrench, when removing an exhaust shield on my BMW with the car jacked up, and barely any room to access the bolts. Can see this making most jobs a good chunk easier as a lot of time is often spend with a spanner or manual wrench removing bolts.

The low-ish torque and vairiable action is perfect too as I don’t want to be over-torquing any bolts and stripping them. It is a bit heavy but not excessively so. I’ve got a heftier impact wrench with a cable for really high torque bolts.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI didn’t have an impact driver and as we’d just moved into a new house and my wife wanted a lot of jobs done, I bought this. It really has paid for itself several times over!
With the purchase of some screw remover bits and a few other drivers, I don’t think I’ve been stuck removing or inserting everything from small screws to masonry bolts! Battery life is excellent and the driver itself is light enough to keep on going, yet tough enough to to never give up! The case is very handy and I can stuff a load of other things in there too!
I only wish I’d bought one a long time ago!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was pondering a Makita but they were well over priced as far as I am concerned. I bought this Ryobi Impact Driver and it has done everything required of it. Great product it did lots of jobs and still didn’t require charging, although I am only using it at home and not professionally. Still for me it’s good value for money and good quality. I would definitely buy other Ryobi products.
