This is my second pair of these, they are really comfortable with great arch support. They are narrow so if you have a wider foot they would probably be too tight, also go up a size, I’m a 5 but buy a 6 and they fit perfectly.

I had a pair of these before and they do give really solid support which means I don’t need to use my orthotics as well.

My last pair did wear out on the right sole within a year and were no longer waterproof but I did wear them both for indoor and outdoor exercise almost every year. The shoe laces do come undone easily so have to be double knotted.

However, the arch support is worth it.

I run with them since years and never found better ones for trail up and down mountains and through forests. No matter how steep or slippery. Not made for street running though.

We recently began competing in agility and these amazing shoes have seriously upgraded our running speed.

No need to break them in they were so comfortable from the start.

I did have to go up a size as the s6 was too snug, the 6.5 is perfect!

    Delighted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Game changer!

These are the best shoes i”ve ever had, very very comfortable, fixed my knee and ankle issues after longer walks/runs (12+km) as with other shoes i often had pain in my ankle. Since wearing these theres no pain at all. My feet feel very comfortable and stable at all times. Very good grip. My feet are a bit wide, i was worried about the fit but it fits perfectly. Needed about 3 days and 30km to “break” it for my feet. Super happy with them.

Absolutely love these. So comfortable and look great. The grips look as if they’ll do the job for walking in snow and off road. I wasn’t sure what size to get as I’m normally between a 7 and a half and an 8, so I looked at sizing guide and measured my feet. My feet measured at about 10.1 inches so I ordered the 8, which is 10.2 inches and they are a perfect fit. So, if in doubt, measure your feet and order the corresponding size

Possibly my 10th pair of Salomon Speedcross shoes … that says it all really. I use them for cross country races, off-road runs, up to MT marathon distance and fell races. I find them snug and secure though I am used to buying half a size up: 6.5 instead of 6.
The quick lacing system means it’s hard to lose shoes in mud, and relatively easy to get them off at the end of a run. The sole profile allows good grip on most surfaces and personally I don’t find them uncomfortable for road or stony sections. They are quite heavy/robust and if I was a fast runner I would want something lighter.

Comfortable, different to my others, which I loved but couldn’t get, but surprisingly I do like these. My others tipped you slightly forward whereas these tip slightly back. I ordered a Half size up to wear thicker socks and I’m glad I did. Yes like them enough to buy a pair of Salomon walking boots too.

Love the shoe after seeing a friend’s pair on a walking weekend and wanting a lighter pair of walking shoes for rough terrain than hiking boots. I have walked a couple of times in them a couple of times since they arrived (yesterday!) and are super comfy, true to size but snug with a thick sock. I haven’t given 5 stars because my feet got damp this morning in the morning dew so not sure how water resistant they are, despite it being in the description.

Love these shoes. They do come up a bit small but they are #o comfy and great for walking, grip is grea

These are classic Salomon: well made, durable and stylish. I ordered a size up and the length of the shoes was fine. However, having one foot bigger than the other meant that my left foot sat slightly forward, which created a downward pressure from the shoe at the front of my foot – it felt squashed! I have since returned them for a refund. It won’t stop me buying this brand again, but I will be sure to try them on in store!

I bought half a size bigger as the last couple of pairs of Salomon’s were too small – these were great – 14.5 miles on first use – no blisters – pretty comfortable – I’m carrying a foot injury so I can’t say 100% but they allowed me to do 14.5 miles with no further issues

I’ve had these for two weeks and the first thing I need to say is, I ordered them a whole size bigger after reading several reviews, and they fit perfectly (I ordered a UK size 8.5 and usually take a UK 7.5). They are a narrow fit and I was initially afraid they were too small, but after the first wear they seemed to shape to my foot perfectly. The look good and grip really well on slippery, uneven terrain. Time will tell whether the grips will last – the rubber is fairly soft so they feel as though they’ll wear quickly but then again that’s what makes them so good on skiddy surfaces. The laces are robust and stay laced up properly. I have quite narrow feet with a high instep; if you have a broader foot I’d suggest being even more generous with your sizing. Very happy with my purchase so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove them! Wasn’t keen on the laces after having the quick lace ones but I’ve come to like them. Knew what size to get after having many pairs of speedcross. I’d definitely have another pair.
Update.. They aren’t harder wearing, 6 months later of occasional use and they’ve split worse than the others ever did. Unless I got a faulty pair!

Seems harder wearing than the normal speedcross

Comfy straight away. Waterproof. Non slip on uneven, wet, muddy terrain. Really good choice.

I’ll be honest, I never really thought to buy hiking boots because I’m a casual hiker. Plus, I don’t seek the back trails, usually the ones I choose have been well worn in, but ever since I discovered a great 10mi hike near my home that has a portion that’s fairly rocky, I knew I needed something more than tennis shoes. And thus began my search for a quality pair of hiking shoes. Immediately, I was drawn to the colors of these. They aren’t obnoxious/too gaudy and they are a little more exciting than traditional boots. On first wear, they were a bit snug, but still comfy. My ankles felt very well supported. As I continued to hike, they continued to get more and more comfortable. And over the rocky portions, I was no longer slipping or feeling my ankles succumb to areas with little to no holds. The material this shoe is made of is also very easy to wipe later on which is great for dusty hikes.

I purchased these for a half marathon trail and was very impressed with the comfort and performance of the trainer. No blisters, no rubbing and excellent grip across all terrain. There are no negatives apart from the fact they are not waterproof however you can pay more for this option. Excellent product!

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThese shoes are apparently designed for running but I bought them because I needed lightweight waterproof trainers for summer walking. As with the Salomon brand in general, they are a snug fit, I am a pretty average width size 6 and found the 6.5 fits well with thin socks, so I’d recommend going up at least a half size. They were comfortable straight out of the box, I wore them every day for a week of walking and had no issues at all. Several weeks down the line they appear to be wearing well and are most definitely waterproof, as evidenced many times. They are also terrifically ‘grippy’ which provides confidence on wet/uneven surfaces. I also love the beetroot colour, although that’s a matter of taste. My only minor reservation is the longevity of the lacing system, in that IF they were to break it looks like they’d be difficult to replace, but it remains to be seen if this ever becomes an issue. In summary I am very pleased with these trainers and would highly recommend them.

I bought these trail shoes for playing hockey in as I needed something more supportive for my feet. One match in & they felt very comfortable & supportive. I went 1/2 a size up following previous reviews & they fit fine.

Absolutely love these shoes, they do come a bit small so would advise to order a size bigger. Love the support this shoe gives without being too bulky.

Very comfortable. Good fit. Not as sturdy as the Speedcross 4, to me it feels as though there isn’t as much protection underfoot so not sure how they would be over a long distance/technical trails. I’ve only used them up to 10 miles so far on dry trail so yet to discover how they fair in more difficult running conditions.

I have been wearing the same make for years and these are slightly smaller than any I’ve bought in the past. Love the colour though.

I have been looking for a pair of hiking shoes with an aggressive sole but not too boxy in the shoe. I also wanted colors other than the same old brown suede. After successfully using Salomon ski boots for years and having multiple fails with hiking boots/shoes, I decided to try this brand. Glad I did. I wish the color scheme was a bit snappier but is waaaaay better than brown. They fit out of the box and are not too hot for desert hiking [where its been well above a hundred degrees for weeks]. For short hikes, I don’t wear socks but definitely would for longer hikes because the tongue mechanism is somewhat bunchy at the seam. Frankly, I haven’t figured out the reason for the layered tongue or how it exactly helps. The ribbon on the tongue also appears to serve no utilitarian purpose so I will likely cut it off. The most significant feature for me is that I over supinate contrary to most folks. The construct of this shoe appears not geared to reduce over-pronation which makes it sensible for the person with a relatively normal gait. My only real complaint, and it is admittedly stupid, it that from the rear, the shoes look like bowling shoes – no offense to bowlers, I would just prefer a more hiking profile.

UPDATE: these have become my favorite hikers. Because I have to accommodate very warm hiking weather year-round, if wear socks, they are very lightweight compression socks. Consequently, to wear these with a heavier hiking sock, I would size up 2 sizes. Having said that, I must clarify that I do not like tight shoes. Hence the 2 sizes up. Also, I have a particularly wide foot with very narrow heel. With a compression sock, these are a perfect fit. It turns out that these are my “go to” hiking, walking, and general comfy shoe choice.

I purchased a size 9 sneaker and I wear a size 9. These Salomons are narrow and tight. However, I don’t feel they are too small. They are pressing the top of my foot. I’m certainly not used to having shoes that fit being my last pair of Salomns were a 1/2 size larger (purchased bigger based on reviews they ran small…but they weren’t and the size 9 was more expensive…so I kept them). I’ll walk around the house a little bit to see if I like the fit.
The laces on this pair are normal ones that you have to tie.
I do not run. I like to walk at the gym and through the neighborhood. I rarely get on a trail. I can see how great these would be walking through the woods.
I have arthritic knees and hips from many years of ballet. It is crucial I have shoes that offer support. These sneakers seem to be made well. They also seem like they will be great if I get caught in the rain. My last pair used to soak through.

Sturdy, well made- Bought size 9 for a size 9 foo
