Great Monitor but Small Flaw
Love the monitor, feels bigger than it should be or rather seems so. Quality picture, no complaints at all with anything screen wise.
My only issue is, like some people online after searching about the issue, that its such a heavy monitor it self tilts back down from where you tilt it (for your eyes or whatever). I had to remedy this with some card and jamming it in the back where it tilts. No issues since but for the price you would think the monitor would have things like this covered. (basically a crap stand).
Elsewise 5* just remember you will likely have to do something about it tilting back constantly.
Amazing
Great quality, colour accurate, just overall amazing for gaming and video
Editing debating on getting a second
Listed on Amazon as being an IPS panel when it is in fact VA – make sure you’re aware of this before purchase and are happy with the pros/cons.
Has been a decent monitor (owned 11 months) but the black smearing in games can be annoying – things like the Borderlands games for example or particularly bad.
Great scree
Loving it, screen is amazing, but only 1 issue.
Screen cable what came in set didn’t work properly, and the port for it didn’t work fairly good, so had to use HDMI instead.
Unreal picture for gaming and movies - plus delivered the next day which was unexpected
Home Office to replace a aging 32″ monitor. After being persuaded from alot of my gaming friends to go for a curved monitor I do not regret this decision.
Amazing to work and play o
Honestly a little worried as this screen is a little cheap but I think its because the resolution isn’t as high as other models. Honestly, very, very happy with my purchase. Playing games on this is amazing. Working on thsi is amazing. I brought this to replace a 4k 27 inch monitor. But 4k at that size is too small an unusable. This is the perfect mix of higher than hd resolution and size of monitor for me.
Would highly recommend
Excellent curved gaming monitor.
Hooked the display up to my pc using displayport. I run an RTX 3070ti and made sure g sync was activated in the George control app. Pictur quality is excellent, so far I’ve played Sniper elite 5, COD MW2 and Vanguard all games are running high or ultra graphics settings with dlss and hdr activated and I have been blown away by sheer vibrancy of the display. No tearing or glitches and a large viewing area make games really immersion. So glad I bought it.
Picture is amazing!
First time purchase of a curved screen monitor so it was inevitably going to be more impressive when used for the first time but myself and my son literally just said ‘wow!’
A row of dead pixels has appeared soon after purchase. All the way from one side of the screen to the other. Very annoying.
Good.
Picture out of box is incredible. Best I’ve never had on a pc. Do alot of video editing in Adobe premiere. This has allowed my to have more content on screen and really speeds up the editing process by at least 50% even on a gddr5 GC with only 8gb it runs so sweet.
No dead pixels picture is perfect in every way for me, and the reduce strain on eye function was a blessing as mostly use it in evenning
Not tried gaming yet as only bought for editting
Using the menu was easy, overal use of the navigation stick was like scroll and click like an R3 on PS Pad. But does feel cheap and blocky, clunky but does the job.
Bad
Stand is crap and cheap with no adjustment however cable tidy on back in is a nice touch
Audio: none, just a headphone jack. Just feel angry at this one it obviously has a type of soundcard or it wouldn’t have a headphone jack, so feel a bit robbed
Screen besel
No gap at bottom, 10mm left-top-bottom
Thought was an issue at first then realised it standard
Amazing monitor will stick wit the odyssey
I love this monitor but the stand it comes with is very cheap. Comes with a display port cable but no hdmi cable oh and a (UK) power pack. Very lightweight great picture. It’s a very good way to cheaply get into 1440 p gaming.
Very very happy with this purchase. But I was upgrading from 1080p 60hz so obviously I’m going to enjoy the upgrade. Therefore my opinion is not useful if you’re trying to compare similar monitors.
I game and photo/video edit. I didn’t notice anything wrong or bad with the colour for general gaming, it looks and feels great for that. However, when editing the colours are wrong. When moving the image to another screen the colour changes entirely so I can’t edit using it. I checked a generic image, checking with my phone to see which monitor was closer to the phone and unfortunately it wasn’t this one. For general use/gaming then it’s great but if you’re doing anything with colour then I’d give it a miss. Not sure what I’m going to do now…
This monitor is great for office production. I am able to display multiple windows at the same time making multitasking easier. It’s picture perfect, allows splitting the screen for two different sources. The only drawback is that you cannot adjust the view angle. Otherwise, it’s worth every penny.
All round amazing monito
I have had this monitor for around 6 months now, so here is the real review
The monitor is amazing for work and gaming with the 165hz screen it makes your old 144hz screen just that little bit better
The 100R curve is really nice and not sure if I could go back to flat screens now
Nice feeling stand and universal monitor arm holes too
Easy to adjust screen settings
Perfect for replacing 2 separate monitors and you no longer want the black bar in your view
34 Inch screen is just big enough compared to the 44 inch which is huge
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good!
Happy days, Pricey, but aside from the stand you get what you pay for!
This monitor is fantastic. It’s very clear, very bright (I have the brightness turned down because it’s plenty bright enough), very good colours. The curve actually makes the image look very consistent too, rather than getting any change in colour towards the corners, so the curve does what it’s supposed to! And it is also more immersive, I even prefer using it to watch netflix (even though of course netflix is only 16:9). I’m very happy with the purchase.
Caveat: use a VESA mount. the stand that it comes with is really utterly crap, very weak plastic. I guess it does the trick but if you’re playing games and moving your arms on the desk, your monitor is going to be dancing all over the place. Bad show from samsung, and this loses a star on “value for money”, otherwise it would be 5 star throughout for me.
The colours are a bit washed out (out of the box) and there’s a slight red tint to it, so I’ve been messing with the colour calibration for a couple weeks and now I’ve found the settings I’m happy with. I use Red 45 Green 45 and Blue 55 (this remove the reddish tint and gives it more of a “cool” temperature look, and Black Equalisation 18-20. The best for calibration for this monitor in my opinion. Also up the colour in Nvidia Control Panel settings (or whatever your equivalent is) to 70-80 (personal preference) This monitor also has a massive 1000R curve, so it’s even more immersive when gaming! Some people say there’s ghosting, which granted, there is, but it’s not something you notice unless you’re looking for it and there is very little light bleed; again, not something you notice unless you’re going out your way to look for it. HDR is awful though, so I wouldn’t buy it if you’re after a true HDR experience. Overall, I’m really happy with this monitor! Got it for 350 so that’s a plus too, so I’d wait for it to go on sale because I think 450-500 it goes for sometimes is a little steep.
Great monito
At this price point the monitor is wonderful. I’ve experienced no major light bleed, light spots or colour differences. The curve is quite strong but you will be used to it within 1 week. Great for gaming and very immersive. Tip for those who can’t get screen on after it enters sleep mode: long press the power button underneath for 3 seconds. Can’t fault it, it’s changed the way I game and work!
I like it so much I bought two , paid 384. Its a good panel but the case and stand are cheap plastic. No sound and very basic. Office use. Make sure you invest in a decent gas damped bracket , not the cheapest which wasn’t tall enough. Developer using lefty side for debugging. Software I use is max.to which creates 2 virtual screens – gamechanger!
Fantastic product!
I originally bought this monitor from Curry’s but from the get go I experienced issues with it flickering and a couple of dead pixels so I got this as a replacement and what a different experience. I highly recommend this monitor for it’s fantastic colours and great image quality and very nice button control and very easy set up.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for competitive
This monitor really shows off the Xbox series x, 120fps with 1440p is delicious
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
Great value for money and makes such a difference for gaming it’s like night and day from a 4K tv.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really good ultra wide
Really great monitor, light and sturdy, plus looks great at 165hz.
5.0 out of 5 stars first class monito
his fitted perfect into my set up size was great picture quality is very good for gaming crisp and clear love i
5.0 out of 5 stars monito
ice monitor for gaming is worth the money I’ve always wanted a curved monitor but window reflects on it where I have the monito
Amazing Scree
EPIC performance, just be sure your GPU can handle WQHD resolution at 165hz.
My intel onboard video only supports WQHD at 50-60hz … i need to upgrade my laptop now
1. Quality of the screen itself is top-notch. 165hz easy to set.
2. Base is bad plastic, no adjust in any axis. Quality is so bad though that feels like screen could move a bit on the base (but it’s like it bends)
3. Picture by Picture mode is a great idea, you can choose sound source between two, and do a minor screen adjust between them. It could use more features there though, like even ratio between pictures.
Also expect PbP to have both images dropping to 60hz (from 100 or 165hz)
4. Transition from HDMI to DP is really clanky and takes time.
5. The curvature is THE BEST I’ve seen in any curved screens. I actually saw some that totally made me not want to go curved. The 34” curved Odyssey 5 is JUST right. Amazing ratio for my field of vision.
6. Gamingwise this is FAST. No input lagging, freesync works (hope the nvidia equivalent works too on my new pc soon). I’d definitely go for this one instead of a 4K UHD with 60hz refresh rate.
7. THough it has SUPER thin bezels, you can’t FILL the screen all the way (or at least I haven’t found an obvious way to do so).
Samsung Odyssey G5
Great pace of kit I was not disappointed only problem is the stand is a bit flimsy but as I am using a HUANUO Monitor Arm Height-adjustable, Gas Spring Arm 360 Rotatable for 13 to 32 inch Screen, 2 Mounting Options, with HDMI Cable its no problem fantastic
I use this screen for gaming with the PS5. The picture quality is good, but this screen only comes alive with all functions, if your using a pc with a decent graphic’s card. Freesync only works with a pc, you cam only use HDMI with the PS5, so you end up playing at 60hz, which is a lot of money for a screen running at this. I think it would be amazing for a pc user. It’s a good screen, don’t get me wrong, it’s just not designed with the PS5 in mind. I do enjoy using it and your field of view is brilliant, take a little bit of time to get used to as well.
Not the best screen for the PS5, but ideal for PC users.
I also bought a VESA mount, as all the bad reviews about this monitor, were around the stand, just get a VESA mount movable arm right away, then there isn’t a problem.
Fc looks amazing
Color: not great, just acceptable.
Contrast: that’s where VA panel is good at, very high contrast possible.
Ergonomics: a disaster, terrible stand, nothing adjustable.
Curvature and ultrawide: just marvelous, incredible for playing games. The eyes are able to see this wide. Those peripheral retina cells detecting motion are there all the time, so it feels super natural to have this extra width. The experience feels more immersive and makes sense.
Notes: At first I had problem connecting to my PC, after downgraded monitor DP version to 1.2, it then worked.
