Does not fit in PS4 (or any laptop I have access to).
Had to cut the drive bay out of my PS4 to get it in, and cut a hole in the case.
I do have a 4TB PS4 now tho.
Hard drive is perfectly fine, has good speeds just one thing to note is its fatter than your regular 1GB hard drive so it probably won’t fit into your laptop. This was the case for me so I just use it externally with a USB to sata adapter.
I bought this as extra storage for home use – even though it came from California to UK that I didn’t realise when I made the purchase, it was delivered very promptly.
Unlike the two 4Tb versions that I also purchased from Amazon, this 5Tb unit did not require any volume configuration and was truly plug and play.
I am a little (possibly unwarranted) concerned about the capacity of 5Tb in such a small 2.5″ HDD and its longevity, but we shall see.
I added the Excellent StarTech aluminium enclosure to house this HDD.

It did not fit my ps4 .i had to do a slight modification to my ps4 for it fit apart from that it works fine
Ne aware this is the smr drive when purchasing, and use appropriately! Good value if you understand what its strengths and weaknesses are!
Great drive but make sure you check the space available.
This is double the height of a standard 2.5.
It seems all the drives over 2TB are like this to accept the larger capacity.
Would be nice to see more prominent warning on this.
Caution, this drive is 15mm thick and won’t fit most laptops. I bought a 15mm external drive case and am now using it with a desktop system as an external USB drive.
I bought a 2tb drive to go in the laptop I wanted to upgrade.
Needed more space,currently had 2TB drive installed,so this,at 4TB,was perfect.Old one out,new one in,quick format and away it went.Does exactly what I want.Great.
Just over 1 year later and still going strong, i was looking to buy another but now there more expensive than the 104 i paid originally 🙁 (4TB)
Presentation was minimal barebone packaging. I guess good for environment. To install you need to use windows software for partition it and format it. Do not work straight from the packaging.
Works well I have it encrypted with veracrypt and performance is standard for a hdd. Note this is quite fat drive as I believe they use 2 disks on the inside so make sure your laptop has enough space that allows for essentially 2 2.5″ ssds to be stacked on top of each other. I have about 3tb filled up now and it is going strong
Received this Seagate Barracuda 4Tb internal HDD in a timely manner but installation caught me out.
I installed it in a new HDD enclosure easily but when connected via either Thunderbolt or USB cable, my laptop would not recognise the new drive.
Interrogating Disk Management showed that is was correctly marked as Basic/3726Gb and online with Partition as GUID/GPT, however, the diskspace volume showed at Unallocated.
I had to select reate new Simple Volume”and format to NTFS before the laptop would recognise this new HDD.
I’m sure this would create problems for less savvy customers and result in unecessary returns as Faulty.
The seller should really ensure that this is true Plug and play.
I’ve yet to use the drive so can not comment on performance…yet.
Does the job of a HDD works fine for storing my steam collection well and fits nicely in my case, however I didn’t pay attention to the depth of the HDD as it’s quite thick so be careful if you’re planning on putting this in a laptop
1) The 3TB, 4TB and 5TB drives are 15mm think so will NOT fit the majority of laptops.
2) It is not at all clear but these drives use shingled recording so performance is…..mediocre at best – copying some files and building a RAID array on three of these drives shows writ speeds up to about 110MB/s but it frequently drops down as low as 20MB/s
Reliability – no ides, the drives have been pwoered up about 24 hours now so too early to tell.
Good stuff too bad I had to return it, it barely fit in the laptop, because the left side of laptop had a curve after installing and I did not wanted to damage it, it’s almost twice as ticc as a regular 9mm one so if you are not Shure if it fits put 2hard drives on top of each other try close the lid on the laptop.
Not and SSD, but I was very happily surprised about how fast it worked in a standard external drive holder running the new USB-C to a MacBook Pro.
It is thicker than a standard 2.5″ drive, so does not fit into a lot of cases – make sure you know the size capacity before buying.
Ideal product. Highly recommend.
NOTE: If you are planning to use this as an external HDD, you need a caddy that accommodates 15mm thick drives. I bought the ‘INEO’ caddy and it works perfectly (see below):

Very fast HDD. Used this in a home-built NAS and getting consistent transfer rates of over 100MB/s to it. Very quiet as well. The size of this drive is approximately 15mm, so it won’t fit in a standard laptop, but it should fit in a caddy.
I brought this HDD, it is very good for use in laptop or on playstation. when i first got it the HDD did not work all the time. but now it is working perfectly. And I would recommend the this harddrive if you have the money. It is fast and reliable.
