ice colour built pretty well gets a bit warm though in use and I wish they would include rubber feet!!
I have many of these units I have to buy packs of bubble stickers to place 4 on the bottom of the drives to stop vibrations and sliding around!!!!!

This is the 6th seagate HD I have purchased, never let me down and great value for money. I use these for keeping my music collections safe as I’m a DJ, great piece of kit, very quick transfer, this 12TB version is for a full back up of some of my other ones. would recommend

My last one was past its sell by date, this one fits the bill. It is 2GB (twice the old one) portable light in weight and fits with my new USB lead. I use it to store my backups of useful items that I might need to get at easily. Very pleased with the Tech support that comes with it.

So easy, plugged into power, plugged into ish 3.2 and instantly had almost 12tb of space.

A roomy vault to handle anything.

The usb b and c ports in the front are brilliant for charging and provide extra ports so you don’t lose any when plugging it into your pc.

It isn’t small, as wide as my tower but it sits on top of said tower and I have a stand for my headset atop that.

All in all, very happy with this Seagate drive.

    Used with Windows 11 pro.

I’m currenty capturing old DV tapes onto hard drive prior to editing and thence to flash drive. This drive seems to fulfil all my needs and provides plent of storage at modest case. Small size makes it very portable. Seems robust as it survived a drop from my letter box to a hard floor.

My fault not the products I brought this drive before realising it has fairly low transfer speeds – capacity is good though for the price and it’s got quite a small fan rm factor for the capacity

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased this to download my home videos on to to free up memory from my lap top but most of all it is portable so I can take it with me to show the rest of the family. Very easy to use and value for money.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGot it to backup and archive my videos and editing projects from various SSD’s. Tried using the software provided by Seagate to copy all the files and it was horribly slow and failed mid copying from an SSD so had to format and do everything all over again. Later tried just drag and dropping to copy the files and managed to copy 1TB in about 2 hours. Obviously slower than modern SSD’s which I’ve gotten used to but for the price am very happy with the amount of storage and speed. Hopefully lasts long enough, will edit review if any issues occur.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI recently acquired the Seagate Portable Drive, and it has exceeded my expectations in more ways than one. This 1TB external hard drive not only offers ample storage but also comes with a valuable added feature — 2-year Rescue Services.

The first thing that caught my eye was the sleek and modern dark grey design of the drive. It blends seamlessly with my PC and Mac, making it a versatile choice for cross-platform users. Setting it up was a breeze; it was practically plug-and-play, requiring minimal effort on my part.

The real standout feature here is the 2-year Rescue Services. This added peace of mind is invaluable. In the digital age, we store so much important data on our devices, and the fear of losing it is always there. With Seagate’s Rescue Services, I know that if anything goes wrong, my data is in safe hands. It’s a comforting thought that not all external drives offer.

Performance-wise, this Seagate drive has been flawless. It’s fast and responsive, allowing for quick data transfers. Whether I’m backing up important files, storing my multimedia collection, or simply expanding my device’s storage, it handles it all without a hiccup.

Portability is another strong point. It’s incredibly lightweight and compact, easily fitting into my bag or pocket. This makes it perfect for on-the-go professionals like me who need access to their data wherever they are.

The 1TB capacity provides ample space for my needs, and should I ever need more, I can easily purchase additional Seagate drives or upgrade to a larger model.

Overall, the Seagate Portable Drive is a reliable, sleek, and efficient storage solution with the added benefit of Rescue Services. If you’re looking for a portable hard drive that offers both performance and peace of mind, this is an excellent choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A simple good option.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter purchasing a cheap external drive and finding out it didn’t even work (Chinese knock off) from amazon might I add!! Never before has the adage ” Too good to be true” been highlighted at the cost to my pocket.
So I stumped up with a much more considerable amount to purchase this External drive and it does what it should. It hasn’t let me down and is easy to use. Would recommend

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor 8TB and a price of 110 with a rebate, I can’t complain! It does come with sub par usb-A to mini HDD cable, so be aware of that if your computer is USB-C only. Needs power input but that is expected for this type of device. Had another disc from the same brand that lasted more than a decade so expectations on reliability are high for this one. We will see!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersPlenty of storage for music, photos, games, and/or videos. My only gripe is that the supplied cable is a bit short if you’re connecting this hard drive up to a laptop. However 2m cables are easily available from a variety of suppliers and they don’t cost much so it’s a minor issue but one that’s cost this a star in the rating. If you’re hooking this up to a PC or gaming console it’s not going to be a concern. Can’t comment on tech support as I’ve not needed any and, touch wood, I won’t.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as I was fed up with lousy backup options, tried another make – got one DOA.

The software seems open but is designed for this brand – download in advance see if it works for you BEFORE buying the drive.

My computer has a 500GB drive so I went for the 6TB as a decent ratio – so far fine.

Basically – USB plugged into a USB hub, Power adapter into UPS – runs fine.

Nice thing it goes into standby when the computer does.

Not a lot else to say other than the brand is one of the oldest and most reliable.

Searched around and, for the price, this suited all my needs. After arrival I have found that it is very satisfactory.

Bought one of these as storage to my Nvidia streaming device. Works perfectly, so I bought another to act as a backup to all my movies’/TV shows. Good transfer speeds and (so far) reliable. Recommended

I’ve been using it for over 6 months now and it’s never given me any problems.
I’ve not noticed any delay, or speed problems when playing games saved there.

I had already purchased the same Hard drive previously and so far been Happy with it. So I have purchased another to link to a second system, and I am as happy with the new one as my original purchase. Easy to contact and get going, and it does what it says on the box, at the time of purchase, not badly priced. I am happy with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith every storage it is hard to rate reliability but so far so good. No issues and at a great price. I use it only couple of times per month to sync between internal pc storage. Works without any issues

So far no issues. Works as intended. Very light and huge storage capacity. Records not as fast as SSD but that is expected. For the price good value

This is a great product for the price the 8TB does what its meant to, no issues at all with regards to transfers however, there is 1 downfall which is it does slow down your system. would still recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhen booting up it’s incredibly loud! It also takes a long time to boot… about 20 seconds. It has 14.5GB usable space from 16GB advertised which is normal for external drives. Get anywhere from 50MB/s – 150MB/s when copying files to and from the drive. The extra USB port on the front is a nice touch. Overall it’s a decent external drive even with the racket it makes!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis 8 TB external hard drive is formatted to NTFS and ready to go straight out of the box. I got this because I wanted an alternative form of backup for my HP laptop rather than relying on windows One Drive. I created a system image backup file. I think this feature is from windows 7 this worked but I have not attempted a restore yet. I engaged File History also from Windows 7 but still available in windows 11 and it is working well. If it should fail within the first two years because its Segate you get attempted file recovery as part of the deal with this drive. The drive has no on/off switch, instead it relies on detecting power on the USB3 port which is incidentally its only interface. I found this a bit confusing as the disk is suuposed to power down once no power is detected at the USB3 interface. My drive powered down at computer shut down but immediately powered up again. Unknow to me at the time my lap top although off allows charging from its USB3 port the good news is you can turn this off from within the computer BIOS. All in all I am happy with my new external hard drive.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI use the 14TB version of the Seagate One Touch Hub set up for continuous backup of my laptop (using the software “Toolkit” provided). It offers me a simple way to ensure I have my system covered, should the main drive on my laptop suddenly die or the system becomes corrupted. Personally I use this as part of a three part backup scheme, along with a NAS (off site) and another external hard drive. Can’t be too careful !
The size of this drive also means I can use it for storage of photos and video, along with a document repository for all my scanned personal documents. The One Touch Hub comes in a variety of drive sizes.
It is password protected (although you can set it to recognise the main laptop / PC / Mac you are using it with (connected to via the USB lead) so that you don’t have to enter the password every time you switch it on). Obviously if you disconnect the drive or use it with another laptop / PC / Mac it will need the user set password to operate it – so it’s secure, protecting your data if stolen.
I’ve only had the drive a few weeks so can’t comment on longevity and not had to contact Tech Support , so I can’t rate that either. However I have used Seagate drives in the past and found them to be ultra reliable.
In a nutshell, if you want an easy to use back up solution for your Windows or Mac computer this is well worth considering. Set up and leave and it does the rest.
