Really good HD for the money, bought for extra storage on a play station and had no issues setting it up

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs a photographer I need to have good reliable storage to back up my photos, this works perfectly, it reads and rights very fast and with the software provided its does the backup autonomously, I’m using a usb c connection and it has no problems at all

Easy to use (“plug and play”), small and light with a design that’s easy on the eye too. The included software is simple and offers automated backing up, but not even needed if just copying files. I haven’t tested exact speeds but it’s fast enough for what I use it for – as a regular backing up tool for all my stuff. Bought it after one of my harddrives started failing and I wish I’d bought it sooner. Also comes with both USB-C and older USB-A connectors via an included adapter, which is great.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThis is what I use to back up everything. Well designed, reliable and probably the fastest drive I’ve ever had in real world use, but be warned that it wont work on devices that cannot power it, even if the ports are compatible. You need a HDD port, or a USB port that is HDD ready. They look the same but are different (it also has a USB-C attachment that fits securely and seamlessly, despite what some reviews have said). This is the case with most such drives, but it might not be something most people realize as it’s a “USB device”. Sometimes, there will be a dedicated HDD port as well as a regular USB port. They also have a tendency to warm up, and this one can get very hot if doing work for extended periods. However, it’s never had any actual issues.

A good all round storage unit. Was a bit troublesome to use with a MacBook for storage AND time machine, but after looking up a partitioning tutorial, it works brilliantly for both uses simultaneously. On the odd occasion it doesn’t show up when plugged in, maybe this is because of a loose cable I’m not sure, but it doesn’t occur enough to be a real issue.

I am using this for my work. Very easy to use. Working well in iPad Pro. Extremely helpful product. A must have for illustrators who use iPad.

The value of the freebies alone made this a great bargain, but the product itself seems to be a good portable drive with more than 1.8tb usable capacity. Build isnt super strong but more than adequate for normal usage. Am particularly happy with the transfer speeds ..consistently getting well over 100MB/s on the USB 3 and was able to backup over 110gb in about 25 ish mins (the speeds do sometime dip down to 30 MB/s). Overall very happy with this and a significantly better product than the slightly cheaper no-brand nonsense on Amazon.

Needed a hard drive to backup stuff to format clean my desktop and this came handy for the price. Was about to go portable SSD, but this one for the price does the job. Besides has fast speeds

Used as a backup and storage drive – on new computer – quick and easy – little expensive

Bought this for my father, as he does what most older gentlemen do.. and not file anything away properly on their PCs. The aesthetic of the product ensured that he would like to have it on his desk. (Shiny plastic objects are not his thing) I have not used the software that the Drive comes with. however Seagate make some quality stuff.. There is not much to be said about portable HDDs. Its plugs and plays instantly and feels remarkably well built, and the fabric panel separates it from the rest of the pack.

Purchased after disappointment with another (slimmer) drive. Unfortunately, that one proved very unreliable and had to be returned. I am happy to say that this drive has proved to be completely reliable after about 5 weeks of use. Speed is reasonable.

This is a great little drive. It doesn’t need an extra power source so runs of the usb. It’s great with the laptop and doesn’t seem to make much difference to its battery usage.

Device as described, Delivered as stated. Easy to set up and use. Good Brand & Quality.
I don’t like the added free part year subscriptions to software – trying to hook you in to long term annual subscriptions.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBrilliant. Very simple to set up and easy to use. Knowing I have a proper backup for my Mac laptop gives me peace of mind. The first backup took around 50 mts but from then on it’s just a couple of minutes to keep it up to date. I’m no technology expert so it was very helpful that this divide is so user-friendly!

Does exactly what it should. Would have been 5* but the USB3 to USBC adapter was a cheap and nasty bit of kit that would not fit the port on my computer or the cable from the drive so bought a good one from HP.

I rarely leave reviews, but that has certainly done the job since working from home. I have barely touched the full storage capacity, even working with huge PSD and AI files. It loads super fast when you first plug in and I’ve had no issues using it. If you suddenly move your mac or jolt it by accident, it can disconnect easily, but apart from that no issues at all. The adapter isn’t the most premium thing in the world, but it works perfectly so don’t let other reviews that mention that put you off!

Bought it to back up my MacBook Pro.
Could not get the Time Machine to recognise it in System Preferences. Eventually I threw away the supplied USB3.0 to USB-C connector (which looks pretty dodgy) and replaced that with an Apple branded product.
    Worked perfectly then.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIt arrived well packed, the carton was sturdy, sealed properly, conplete with security tags inside it. So I know it’s legit. It comes with manual instructions and leaflets on what it comes complementary with. The USB ports work just fine.

Love the white colour, it’s lightweight, storage as advertised. It just worked right away the moment I plugged it in. I didn’t have issues with it. Transferring files is also easy, no fuss, just dragging them to the hard drive. It comes with free use of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for three months. That’s a plus.

Easy to use and super lightweigh

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe size of a slim notebook, approx 3″ x 4.5″x 3/8ths “. I use it for an additional back-up for my MacBook Air apart from the cloud. one just plugs it in and it works. It comes with a standard USB plug and an adaptor which converts it to a USB C plug which I use with the Mac.

Bear in mind that the USB-C cable is not more than an regular USB cable with a USB-C adapter. I was a bit disappointed about that because I can plug Tu HD at the same time on my MacBook.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersHaving bought recently the MacBook Air, I didn’t want to keep subscribing to Apple icloud to store my photos, so already being familiar with Seagate products, purchased the 2tb Backup Plus Ultra Touch. It was very easy to install, basically connect the right connection and sync to Time Machine. Portable, lightweight can easily slip into a pocket if travelling. Don’t think being 2TB will be a problem as my old Seagate Slim Plus is only 1TB and I still have storage space on it.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersA good drive but I ordered this specifically because it was USB-C. Its actually a USB 3 with a clumsy adaptor that fits on the end of the cable and because it’s so clumsy its easy to disconnect accidentally. Would be better to include a dedicated USB-C cable.

Great for backup storage. Small and compact.Has a great offer with the Adobe photography plan. Not suitable for data transfer speeds while transferring large files.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is a neat and compact model with a high capacity. The drive appears reliable and does not get hot.
The provided software is somewhat disappointing. I had problems with getting it to run correctly. Contacting support did provide a prompt response and needed a reinstall of the software.
Despite this the backup program is erratic taking, at times, a large amount of CPU. Despite scheduling a daily backup, which does work, it randomly starts running backups at other times.
The backup also seems to take much longer that I would expect.
