Whether you’re after a way of having a hidden camera set up in the event of a break in, or you’re trying to live out your fantasy of being a secret agent, or you’re trying something a bit more unethical..this hidden camera functions exactly as it claims and is relatively inconspicuous, especially if placed correctly!
The auto recording and night vision both work reasonably well, activating quickly after motion has started to be detected, and the NV is clear and bright enough to make out faces, text, logos, etc, making it great to stick in the centre of a room and forget about until you need to check something.
The camera/capture quality is FHD 1080p with 125 field of view, which is wide enough to capture most if not all of a room if positioned well. And, when powered on and ready to record, the included 6000mAh rechargeable battery can keep it powered for a while (massively depends on your use case; amount of motion being detected/recorded, how often you’re viewing the footage via wifi, etc).
This all means that you can install it somewhere where it would make sense to have a fire alarm, so people are unlikely to even notice it, let alone pay attention to it, turn it on and it should be recording whilst you’re not around and catching any crooks or fridge raiders in the act..
Easily hidden within the smoke detectior, it works very well for some extra surveillance in our house. We have it at the top of our landing as it has eyes on the downstairs porch in our house. Despite the size of the camera inside it, images are very clear and the app is very easy to use as well. It has a good picture at night as well. Easy to mount and to remove again to recharge. It has good motion sensitivity and sends out timely alerts and can record the captured footage to be played back or downloaded via the app. Overall, impressed with it.
This is a fantastic compact camera. The wide-angled lens picks up a wide angle of any room, with superb high-resolution images. Some hidden cameras are not very subtle, but this one is! Put it alongside a standard smoke alarm, and you will struggle to detect which one is the camera! Great value for money too – a great little purchase!

The very first thing that needs to be done is to charge it for at least 24 hours so that the battery can last a long time. Depending on where you place it you can hide the micro USB cable that charges the camera so that you do not have to worry about the battery. The feed looks crispy clear on the phone app (Which is a breeze to configure) as well as the night vision. Love that it sends a notification alarm to my mobile phone when it detects movement and will auto record.
I installed a 64GB microSD inside for recording purposes and I believe it will be enough for the use I will have for it. It comes with a microSD to USB adapter to download the videos to a computer.
All in all, highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for an unobtrusive camera with motion detection and app notification. Very happy with it!
The app is a very easy to use app and you can get full control over the cameras functions through the app. You can live view, view recordings and download pics and video straight to your phone.
The image quality is excellent and very clear. It’s great that it has motion detection too so I can be alerted when my dog moves around or if anyone is in my home.
Overall I am very happy with this camera and have decided to rate it 5 stars.

The units themselves are really well designed, they’re small and look great on the ceiling.
Overall easy set up, no extraordinary beeps or false alarms, good intercommunication.
Would buy it agai
I put it up in the hallway to monitor my doorway. I toyed with putting up a video doorbell, but most of those tie you into buying monthly contracts for cloud storage. And who wants to have your data in the cloud anyway – it is private.
First of all, it is fairly easy to set up if you follow the instructions and download the app. Configuring the app settings is a doddle. But, because of the limitations on the wifi password (no special characters) I had to change my wifi password, so of course, that meant a huge task of resetting all the devices using wifi (took me hours).
So, the problem I found was this – it says what the horizontal field of vision is, but of course what is really important is the vertical vision. In other words, if you place it on the ceiling, let’s say, at 3.5 meters up (in my case) in a hallway, it just shows the first meter down the wall from the ceiling about 4 meters away. (get the angle?).
So, it wasn’t fit for the purpose I bought it for. It would have to be quite a long focal point (across a large room for example) for it to be useful. I don’t know exactly what the vertical angle is when you put it on the ceiling, but you can guess from the lengths I’ve given.
In the end, I had to put it on the wall instead, just below the ceiling. It looks a little odd there of course. A smoke detector should be on the ceiling! Then I had to get the angle just right to show the hallway.
The camera view is not ideal but is certainly workable. All in all, I am happy with it. I had to use the setting to flip the video because it is on the wall.
I had to use my own wall plugs and screws as the ones supplied didn’t work with plasterboard on the ceiling or the wall.
I had to put it up twice as you have to work out how to twist it onto the bracket as it only moves clockwise about a quarter turn.
I’ve now got it working and set it to capture motion and set it to capture people only. The infrared works fine in terms of seeing in the dark. The app appears to work well.
Weird that there is no feature to delete the captured videos using the app – you can only reformat the SD card which you can do on the app remotely. However, you do have option when selecting the video to email it or save it elsewhere. I believe one the questions/answers on here doesn’t do this feature justice.
All in all, I am happy I bought it. It would be better if:
– a feature was added to allow you to delete and/or move the videos from the SD Card to elsewhere, even better if it could be done automatically. With my other camera I have it moving videos to dropbox and deleting them from the card.
– that the camera vertical viewing angle had more of an angle, i.e. downwards so that it could be fitted on the ceiling and view more underneath rather that just more or less straight ahead making it more useful in smaller areas
– having the option to power it from the mains would also be useful (I haven’t been able to test the longevity of the battery yet) so this may or may not be really necessary. It is pretty easy to twist it around and remove the device from the wall in my case.
I am very happy that unlike other video cameras on the market that this one does not tie you into costly monthly cloud storage contracts that only really serve to line the pockets of the corporates who charge exorbitantly huge prices for storage when it costs them next to nothing. What a profit margin that is! I also noticed that there are fewer and fewer cameras on the market that don’t force you into contracts – and why is that? because those that do have cloud contracts buy up the smaller companies selling non-cloud contracted camera makers!
So I am happy to support this one, and might even buy a second camera.
Now it has suddenly started to trigger an alert and video when absolutely nothing is there. And when you look at the video via the app it weirdly triggers another alert each time.
Very easy to set up and is totally discreet, you can remotely access the video feed and the image quality is very clear and sharp.
Night vision also works well, which is important if using it as a sort of security camera for potential intruders. The image doesn’t lose any quality thanks to this.
It also has motion detection which from what I can tell seems to be accurate, the app that you download works well and is user friendly.
Works better than I had expected. Very easy to set up. Great buy.
Perfect cam for monitoring shops and charger backup works fine so far. Picture quality is average and it will not looks like a cam as in appearance it will be a smoke detector.
