Where is the water level indicator?

This is located inside the kettle due to the double-walled insulated design, which helps to retain the temperature for longer. It also adds to the sleek aesthetic design. The app has a feature which will notify you when the water level is low.

Why is my device not connecting to the Wi-Fi?

Try a power recycle on your router and Alexa device. Simply turn off the devices, wait for 30 seconds and turn them back on. Make sure the Wi-Fi is 2.4G and away from any interference. Please see the manual guide for more information.

Why is the device 2.4GHz and not 5Ghz?

2.4 GHz offers a wider coverage and is the perfect solution for multi-room WIFI usage. Despite 5 GHz higher transfer speed, its lower frequencies can’t penetrate solid objects such as walls, therefore it is suited to lower coverage areas.

Why is our device not connecting to our broadband?

Upgraded your broadband recently, or added additional booster features? Please contact your broadband provider who will be able to troubleshoot connection issues. Please also check the band of your WIFI, we recommend 2.4 GHz to support the device.

What features does the Alexa Kettle have with the Alexa app?

The Alexa app allows you to create personalised commands, turn the kettle on and off, set to Keep warm mode, adjust the temperature and add that all important brew to your daily routine. App features work on both IOS and android devices.

    Works great with easy setup.
The only thing missing from the app is a reading of the amount of water left inside the Kettle In the app and maybe a Voice for the Kettle

The alexa part is great but it’s very slow to boil and after boiling if you open the lid to refill the condensation water Goes everywhere which is super annoying.

Love the sleek design and that it is truly Alexa enabled, capable of separate routines for tea, coffee or just straightforward boiling.
Less keen on having to look inside the kettle to see the water level. A bit slow to heat up.

Easy to pair and easy to use. Shame it doesn’t have an indicator to show how full the jug is – either on the kettle or the app. Otherwise very good- and looks smart too.

Receive the smart kettle today lovely product only concern is if you have multiple accounts in your household you can only operate on one person account will not allow to share across family accounts which is slightly annoying. Have to say also had another issue with kettle and Amazon customer service was extremely excellent quick kind and knowledgeable

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m really happy with this kettle, I’ve had it about a week now, it really is very clever.
My biggest issue is no way to tell how much water is in however that doesn’t matter cos the kettle.. IT KNOWS!!!!
Works well with Alexa, when I ordered this kettle Alexa automatically added too. When it came it just instantly registered on Alexa.
Can’t attest to its durability because not had it long.
It does take about five mins to boil but no problem when I’m in bed and tell Alexa to put kettle on.. it’s ready by the time I’m able to function.
All in all a very good product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this kettle whilst it was on sale, so we got it for a little over 60. Easy to set up, but there is no alert for the water level, so no idea if it’s full unless you open the lid and look inside. Not a huge issue, but packaging and sales advert claimed to have the facility.
I had to set up the routine on the Alexa, as the “Alexa, boil the kettle” wasn’t recognised as advertised. Again, no huge issue.
Few things that would be great, but not on this model:
    – Water level indicator / alert
    – Alert via Alexa app to advise kettle has boiled
Overall, I’m happy with the kettle at the price we paid, but at the non sale price of 99.99, the only other ikettle would be better value for money.

I’ve never had kettles that were high tech so I decided to try this one.
It comes well packaged and very well made, I like the black and modern high style of the kettle.
It is very easy to install and connect to Alexa following the instructions.
I like the inside of the kettle as it is made of stainless steel so I don’t have to clean it all the time because of the limescale in the water.
It boils fast and keeps the water hot if you want it to.
I think it should have a display on the outside to show the amount of water that is inside because if you do not remember that there is no water inside the Alexa does not have the option to tell you if it is empty or not and I think that is a flaw because it starts even without water inside, I think they should include that option in the Alexa software.

We have been using the kettle for about a week now and it really is superb. Firstly, it looks great on the countertop. The minimalist design suits our kitchen perfectly. No issues in setting it up via the Alexa App, taking about 5 minutes from start to finish. Working from home as I often do, there is nothing more of an annoyance than standing in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil, typing emails in my head while I stand there. I don’t have that issue any more, I simply ask Alex to turn it on from my office, continuing to work while it goes about its business.
Also, being a black coffee drinker, I really don’t like it when its boiling hot (I believe this is actually not optimum for the drink either) so I often have to top up with cold water, add a cube of ice, or wait for it to cool. However, this kettle allows me to set the temperature to 95C which is perfect for me.
All in all, when you compare what this can do, and the way it looks to other products on the market, I can’t honestly find fault with it! Wouldn’t be without it now!

If you really appreciated the benefits of having the correct water temperature for your drinks or for cooking, then this could be the kettle for you. And with the added benefit of remote operation.

I have been testing this Swan Alexa smart kettle for several weeks now, and have enjoyed being able to boil the kettle from anywhere in the house. I suppose this is a little lazy, but anything that saves a few minutes first thing during the week, works well for me. The real benefit of this kettle, is the ability to be able to select different temperatures for various drinks. Also, the 2 hour keep warm function works really well and is very useful, hopefully this will use less electric than re-boiling slightly later. To help with water temperature retention is the double-wall insolation technology, this also keeps the outside cool, I was easily able to hold the outside of kettle even when boiled to 100C.

All the operations of the kettle can be operated from the LED touch panel display, I found this very easy to use. I like in the ability to see the actual temperature as in the ALEXA App.

The ALEXA App was very easy to setup. When the kettle was in setup mode, I just opened the ALEXA App, opened the devices tab, then tapped on the plus tab in the top right corner, add devices, and tapped on kettle. The Swan kettle the appeared and was setup, then I was able to setup my voice commands. Now laying in bed I can say “ALEXA boil the kettle”, then 3 to 5 minutes later the water hot ready for use.

Being a 1800W kettle it’s may not the fastest to reach 100C, but the double-wall seems to help when bringing to the boil. The stainless steel internal one-piece construction will make it easy to keep descaled, within the ALEXA App is a descale countdown timer.

All good so far, but there is one big let-down, how do I know how much water is in the kettle, with no indication within the App I wouldn’t know if I should operate the kettle. It’s ok if I fill with water the night before, and operate first thing in the morning. But at any other time I would have to check, making the App only good for monitoring.

Overall, this is a lot smarter than the average kettle, and has some very useful features. But it’s dumb when it comes to water level. This is almost a 100 kettle; I think that will put most people off. As I do like my gadgets, I have enjoyed using this new connected kettle.

I hope you find my review helpful

Smarter than the average kettle, but no water level indicato

As far as smart/alexa compatible kettles go, I don’t think you’ll find a better one. It’s easy to set up, remains hot, cool touch on the outside, looks good and works perfectly with voice commands (which can be changed). I wish however it was able to tell you the water level. Otherwise, fantastic – change this issue and its perfect, well worth the price. Would recommend

Kettle works fine and easy to set up however it has a major flaw. The lid mechanism is poor. After only one week of use the lid often refuses to open and you have to keep pressing it untill it does. For this reason i bought the Weeket kettle. Much better all round kettle. Shame really because the swan otherwise is a great kettle.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPros:
    – Efficient. It uses between 0.004kwh to 0.011kwh less to boil the full kettle compared to my last kettle.
    – You can set the temperature of the kettle to the following temperature 60C, 85C, 90C or 100C. We drink a lot of green tea and coffee so the 85C is perfect for us to get a better tasting cuppa.
    – Due to the kettles insulation properties if you do take a while to come to the kettle following it boiling, you will be less likely to need to turn the kettle back on. The LCD also displays the temp of the water (as does the app) so you know how much temperature it has lost (if any).
    – The app tells you when you need to descale the kettle, what the water temp is, change the temp the kettle boils to, create a routine, and a keep warm feature.
    – It does have a boil safe feature if there is no water in the kettle by 50 seconds (when kettle is full to max)
    – Sleek design that and sturdy base

    Cons:
    – If you’re left handed then the LCD will be on the opposite side to you. Not a big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
    – Slower to boil than my last kettle

I hope you find this review helpful.

    efficient but longer to boil

Adding the kettle was quick and easy. However for a designer smart kettle it seems to me it has missed some key features.
1: when kettle has boiled it beeps(very quiet) but does not generate a message back to you to say it has.
2:kettle on defaults to set temperature last set.. why not kettle on at 85c?
3:Why is default to keep temp warm for a set period of time.. maybe because it doesnt tell you it has boiled. I never wanted to boil a kettle then keep it warm.. let me choose.

It’s still a good kettle but could have been much better. I always suspect the guys determining what it can and doesn’t do don’t actually use the device because if they did then the features would have been more complete.

Well what can I say … It does what it says on the box … links to Alexa in just 2 minutes, love the digital readout, easy to setup routines in the app as are all Alexa products. Looks … well .. great with our other black kitchen things, mixer, cooker etc… Easy to clean and very sturdy, easy to handle as well when poring the cuppa’s. Another great addition to our home.

Wow, this kettle has revolutionised making a hot drink.
No longer do I need to get up to turn on the kettle, instead just call out to Alexa or use the app-and the beep will signal that the kettle has been turned on.
Due to the insulated walls, keeps water warmer for longer, or the keep warm setting maintains temp up to 90.

Instruction manual states that the app will indicate water level in the status field, however I have yet to see this – so make sure you top up water when used so it is ready for a remote turn on.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI needed a new kettle and this is certainly a more high tech version than my last one. There is a lot to like about it, and also a few niggles that if they were and I would make this even better. It is made by Swan so it is a well-known brand and one that I have never had any issues with. I like the look of the kettle which is tall and quite sleek looking and I love the way the display lights up.

The kettle was really easy to set up and works seamlessly with my Alexa app. I like that the inside of the kettle is stainless steel and the whole thing seems quite sturdy and durable. The keep warm function is handy and it’s amazing how long it does keep warm.

The kettle does take a long while to boil so it’s good to be able to set it to boil via Alexa so you don’t have to get up and hang around whilst waiting for it to boil (I am sure our ancestors would be ashamed of us when you think of putting a kettle on a fire!) I don’t like that the water level was only visible from the inside and thought that it would have been better if you could see it from the outside. I think that this is definitely a problem if you have poor eyesight. Getting the lid to flip up from the top is a little bit odd, and I think a switch positioned on the handle might have been better.

One thing I struggle to get my head round is the fact that this obviously only works when there is water already in the kettle. I have been told many times that you need to use water straight from the tap when making drinks and not let it stand in the kettle. Apparently using water that has been left in the kettle for a while affects the flavour of hot drinks and also causes the kettle to need descaling more. As I live in a hard water area, this is something I’m concerned with but time will tell how much of a problem this is.

So, is it worth the current price of nearly 100? I would have to say that the jury is still out on that. I am guessing it may be one of those things that at the start you are not sure if it is worth it but as time goes on you get so used to it you would not want to be without it.

I think if you are just looking for a standard kettle, there are others on the market which would cost less and do the job just as well. If, however, you like the idea of technology and don’t have the issue about using fresh water all the time, then this would be ideal. As it stands, I’m going to give this four stars (as I cannot give three and a half!) because the technology is certainly impressive, and I love the decadent feeling of sitting on the sofa, and ordering my kettle to boil!

This does exactly what I expected. It basically set itself up as soon as I plugged it in (I think my Amazon account linked the kettle when I purchased it, there’s a tick box to do so) and it’s been brilliantly simple to use. The one negative is that I do feel it’s overpriced.

The moaners saying they need a window to see how much water is left I find a little bit strange. Obviously the kettle can’t have this due to the double walled insulation (like having a window in a thermos flask, it simply wouldn’t be possible).

You just need to change the way you use your kettle. After every use I refill so it’s ready for my next drink. That way there’s always enough water and I don’t need to come down and fill it up. It’s a tiny little change that solves this tiny problem.

It’s a lovely QoL change to just pop the kettle on from upstairs while working and have it ready when I go down.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat looking kettle. Looks good in my black and cream kitchen. Well made as you would expect from this brand, and sturdy. It is double walled so the outside of the kettle doesn’t get hot, and it retains the heat very well.

Very easy to follow, thorough instruction booklet, which take you through every step needed to get you set up and connected to your Alexa app. Of course it can be turned on using the manual button but why would you pay this much and not use the smart Alexa function ?!

There are various temperature settings depending on how hot you want the water which is a great idea! I have set my kettle at 90 degrees as I will mostly be using it for coffee but when I turn it on I can change the temperature via the app if I’m making green tea which only requires heating to 80 degrees. This saves that extra energy in boiling it and waiting for it to cool down. The app shows how hot the water is in real time, as it is heating up.

It comes with a 2 year guarantee.

    Just a couple of downsides.
It takes much longer than my old kettle to boil.
There is no way to check the amount of water in the kettle without actually opening the lid so you will need to remember to fill it back up each time you use it.
When I filled it to the full line and boiled it to 100 degrees, the water started splashing out of the spout. This only happened when it got to about 95 degrees but I’ll make sure not to fill it right to the max line when I’m boiling water to make pasta. Obviously not in the kettle – I transfer the boiled water to a pan.

It’s a bit of fun and you can show off to your guests!

Great fun! Boil the kettle from the comfort of your chair!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA Swan Alexa kettle with adjustable temperature and keep warm settings.
The kettle comes with approximately 70cm of cable, so you need to position it close to a socket, you can wind any surplus cable under the stand.
You don’t get any heating elements inside, nor a water level window, or any plastic level indicators, which frankly I hate, they always seem to get covered in limescale, which is difficult to remove at times, especially as you cannot get your hand inside. The plastic windows always seem to go white after a year and start leaking, no chance of that with this kettle. This kettle is very easy to clean, having no other parts inside, just the shiny tank, making it very easy to get your whole hand inside, to give it a good wipe over. There is also a strainer at the spout, which you cannot remove, and it’s metal, not a flimsy plastic net that always tears when you clean it.
So far, everything is to my liking!
There are two levels inside, minimum 0.5ltr and maximum 1.5ltr, it didn’t take long to experiment and find we needed an inch above the minimum for our two mugs. Never fill below the minimum or above the maximum. The kettle does take a little longer to boil, if it’s full, but that’s because it’s a money saving low wattage (1500-1800w) kettle, so just boil what you need, we found the half litre amount boiled very quickly, enough for two mugs of hot drinks, and because the kettle is insulated, it kept the water warm, so didn’t need long to bring it to the boil again, even without the ‘keep warm’ function.
It’s also very quite, a lot quieter than the video shows it, my phone microphone is so delicate, it makes it sound like a train, but it isn’t.
You can select a variety of temperatures, supposedly for the different types of coffee and teas, I personally don’t like burning my mouth, so always try and stop a normal kettle from reaching the boil, with this kettle there is no need for that, just set for 80 and it can be drunk straight away, with a refill ready to pour, 60 if you prefer tea.
    Still looking good!
Let’s get going. Give the kettle a good rinse out, to get rid of any factory finish, and manually boil the kettle a couple of times to again get rid of any factory finish and coatings that might leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Once that is done, it’s time to set it up with Alexa. Now you can continue to use it as a manual kettle if you wish, but why spend 100 if your not going to use it for its intended purpose.
Switch the kettle on, hold the ‘set’ button, till everything starts flashing, once you see the Wi-Fi symbol, you can go to your Alexa app and set up as a new item. Everything was straight forward, all went through very quickly, start to finish was about 1 minute. Don’t throw away the barcode sticker before you have set it up, if you want to remove it from the kettle, there is a space at the back of the booklet to store it. All the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Next, set up the routines, if you wish, so the app will understand how you want it to switch it on and off, set temperatures etc. The basic command kettle on/off works before you put in your own twist, like “Alexa, its coffee o’clock”. Basically just as you would do for lights etc.
You can also switch the different temperatures from here and switch on/off the ‘keep warm’ function if you don’t require it.
Do you actually need an Alexa kettle? Well probably not, is it handy, certainly. Waking up in the morning, the water can be boiled waiting for you. Driving home, the water can be boiled and kept warm, incase you get caught in traffic. There are no end of advantages for it.
A handy device that I’m happy to recommend, and no I didn’t find anything I didn’t like about it.

    A very handy device

I was sceptical about buying this kettle after reading some of the reviews, but I’m very happy with the kettle. It looks great, sleek and well made. There isn’t a window to show the water level but in my opinion not having a window adds to the attractiveness of the design. The app tells you if the water level is low and the kettle will also beep if it needs more water. The app is easy to use through Alexa, setting water temperature, routines etc. The kettle has a high gloss finish which is easy to clean with a wipe over using a micro fibre cloth.

This kettle looks sleek, and modern with its black styling. It was very easy to set up, you simply open the Alexa app choose to add a device, select kettle and then scan the QR code. The kettle holds a decent amount and has clear minimum and maximum lines on the inside so you know how much to fill it up. The boil time is okay, but certainly not the fastest I’ve seen, and for the price of 99.99 I was expecting it to be a little quicker.
It is great that you can turn on the kettle remotely and you can even set schedules to have it come on at certain times in the day. This is a feature I particularly like and have set mine to boil every morning in time for when I get up. You can easily change the boil temperature using the button on the kettle or within the Alexa app. The biggest flaw I have found is that there is no measuring line on the outside of the kettle therefore you don’t know how much water is inside without opening the lid. I’m really surprised this has been overlooked as I thought it was a standard feature on all kettles, I wouldn’t of minded if it showed the water level in the alexa app but unfortunately it does not. Despite this, it’s still a nice looking kettle that serves its purpose well and looks great at the same time. In its current state I’m not sure it’s quite worth the 100 pricetag, but with some minor tweaks I think it could be.

A nice idea but could be executed bette

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery tall kettle with 1/2rd minimal fill, not so energy efficient; but it works with Alexa with a minute, easy setup.

Yes the minimum water level is quite high, so not energy compliant; this is to stop you switching it on empty.
Boiling an empty kettle simply is not safe.

So we filled it and asked Alexa to ‘turn kettle on’ not boil the kettle, more logical but doesn’t work.

It does boil the kettle and slowly due to the large amount of water in it!

Very handy to leave over night and issue the command before you come downstairs for your first cup of tea.
    My wife loves that function.

Display is bright and visible. The top pops up, but needs two hands to do it, why is the button not on the handle top?
There is no exterior water level and there really should be for convenience and safety.
The internal markings are awkward to see as the kettle is tapered and being narrow at the top, hard to see the lower marking.

Why would I ever need to set a water temperature of 40C?
No idea and just a gimmick on an overpriced and expensive kettle.

I tried boiling the kettle with the water below thr minimum mark, still enough water to fill 2 cups,
It stopped boiling at 38 degrees, so there must be a sensor somewhere.

Note this can only be used by a right handed person and the display can only be seen with the handle only on the right hand side.

If Swan engaged in real people consumer research, this would have made a much better kettle.

I like the idea of them. You can set the kettle to boil when you are on the bus home or just startting your homeward journey and need hot water for a food item.
Like the idea you can used the buttons on the kettle to get it to work. It’s a little awkward as you can’t see the water level before hand.

You can tell that this is a quality kettle, I love the stainless steel interior, the display letting you know the temperature of the water, the different temperature settings, the keep warm function, the touch control and Alexa control, also the cool touch outside (never gets hot). I turned the kettle on and opened my Alexa app and within a minute it was up and running. So why not 5 stars? Because as others have said you need to open the kettle to see how much water is inside and also it is not the fastest at boiling and I think it is a bit expensive. But even with the little faults I can’t imagine that most people would not be happy with this

Update. I have been using the kettle for a few days now and I was complaining that it took a while to boil, while this is still correct with cold water, if you go back an hour later because the kettle is double walled the water is still pretty hot (90c at the start and 1 hour later 56c) so it takes no time to boil up again. A normal kettle would be way colder And take longer to boil.

    Quality kettle

The swan Alexa kettle is a great kettle. A bit pricey but still a good kettle. Easy to set up. Just ask Alexa to put the kettle on and then just wait for it to beep and it’s done. Even if your near to home you can just go to the Alexa app and put the kettle on you can also set a temperature to keep the water warm. Should be easy to keep clean. If you lose wifi there is the option to use the touch button to boil the kettle. I couldn’t live without this now.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI am an addict to this kind of stuff, I don’t suppose I’ll ever be fully satisfied until these kind of things can actually make a cup of tea and bring it to you!
I like the design of the interior, almost completely flush with no bits to stick out to collect chalk (as my water is very chalky) and the lining goes right up to the rim so it should be a breeze to get clean with descaler Solution. Connectivity was easy for me, although I did chose to do it at the same time I wanted a cup of tea but that’s my fault. And it all works just fine, no problems so far.
Except….. What it could have been (in my opinion) but isn’t. Feedback…. there is no feedback apart from a beep. I want it to tell me that the kettle has begun to boil and has boiled by the alexa device I selected to initiate it. But that is a problem with these devices, there is no feed back. So can i plead to the designers of these systems to incorporate a switchable feedback option? It’s the icing on the cake and probably not on most peoples wish lists but it is a feature worth considering In my view, albeit fairly over the top.

    Review

    Pros
    Looks great.
Works great with Alexa, I have setup two routines one so the Swan kettle comes on automatically at 7am and stays warm for breakfast.

The second routine is for teatime (dinner) at 6pm the kettle will come on at 6pm.

You can also say Alexa turn the kettle on and she will put it on for you.

I love the feature where it keeps the water hot for you.

You can use the kettle in manual mode as well which is handy.

It’s very stylish and modern looking.

Let’s you know when it needs descaling. Which is 500 boils. You can check in the Alexa app as well.

The lid is a very study one and the button is easy to open the top of the kettle.

The kettle comes with a 2 year guarantee which is great.

    Cons
No water level window (though the kettle will let you know the water is getting low through your Alexa app.) And of course you can check yourself.

The kettle won’t keep the water warm at 100c only at 90c but you can go as low as 30c for different drinks.

Is it worth the money ? Definitely especially if you own a smart home or just starting to do one.

Would I recommend it ? Definitely in fact my mum and dad have seen it even though they will only use it manually they love it.

My rating is 9.5 out 10.

I hope my review helps you decide if it’s for you.
