It works with obs 27.2.4 (old version for w7) & skype without a problem. It has a decent heavy base. I only wish the camera had a gorilla glass to protect it.

    Works on w7

Working from home means setting up an office and you need loads of items. This purchase was a great addition to online meetings, and image scanning. Good video and sound quality. The lamp light is good too.

    Amazing image technology

I was very pleased with this webcam/document scanner. It’s a good webcam for the price, lots of control via buttons on the cam, the ringlight is an excellent ‘plus’, and it can be positioned wherever you want to make good eye contact (eg right in the centre of the screen for a zoom conference). Furthermore the camera ‘just works’ – no drivers to install etc, I just plug it in (if on a machine with multiple cameras I will need to select it as my main camera).
And as for documents – equally good quality and notably quick and easy – I use the ‘camera’ app built into windows11 which will rapidly identify the document or page, correct for any slant or tilting, and save as a jpeg. It is then easy to ‘print’ the jpegs to a pdf file and the job is done. Recently I scanned a 90+ page hardback journal, and the combination of camera app and this scanner was the easiest I have ever experienced.

I bought this to use for tutoring online. The product looks and feels well-made and does its job perfectly. The camera is easy to position and can be set to many different angles. The microphones are also decently sensitive. One issue I had when using on MS teams was that the video seemed to flip often, but this was easily fixed using the buttons on top of the visualiser.

Overall, I’d say you get a nice array of features for a very good price.

Bought this for capturing people interacting with a mobile phone. Works well. Seems well made and the controls are intuitive and useful. Only thing that could make it better would be an increased range on the exposure, but only because I’m focusing on a bright phone screen, which is not usual behaviour. All in all a good solid camera.

I have bought this camera for engagement in the classroom, I use it to do a worksheet task and homework/assessment feedback. I use this camera most lessons and using this as habit has promoted more of a calm collaborative attitude to learning within the classroom. Visualisers one of the best tools to hand in modern teaching. This one is sturdy and easy to use. Pupils love having their work displayed to the class and are clear on what to do when there’s a teacher going through something that is also in front of them and displayed on the board- i.e for History categorising in different highlighters for Year 8s Causes, Events and Consequences found within a text.

I decided to buy this document camera vs one priced at 150. I was apprehensive because I often associate cheap with poor quality but decided to give it a go and I’m glad I did. It works really well and the quality is great.

I bought this to do interactive sessions on group video calls for work. It’s a really simple, out-of-the-box solution you can plug in alongside your call webcam.

The only watch-out: when you select the camera the image orientation needs to be set each time. Also, the mirror setting needs to be on within the video calling app.

This is a great piece of kit. We’re using it to copy all our paperwork and load onto the computer. This way we don’t need to keep paper copies of everything. It’s so easy to use. No computer experience needed.

I bought this to use in teaching so I could show children each other’s work. Camera is sharp, clear and there’s no need to focus as it focuses itself.
Only problem I had was using it the first time as I didn’t know how to switch it on, but after watching a youtube video, I was able to use it.

This is a great visualiser for the price. It is easy to set up as you can just plug it in to your pc or laptop and it is ready to go. It is much more sturdy than previous visualisers I have used and the image is really clear.

This is a great visualiser for teachers in Primary or Secondary schools in the UK, allowing you to model what you want students to do in real time with them following on. Particularly useful for exam students and doing walking talking mock exams! Highly recommended!

Bought this almost two weeks ago after doing some online research to find a multipurpose camera suitable for different use cases. Build quality is sturdy and feels well-made, however, they could improve on cable management (a minor gripe) as the embodied hooks do not grip the cable really well. Hope in their next design iteration they will make cable enclosed within the body of the stand. I am happy with the purchase and must say that in this price range, you cannot find a better device than this one. In my opinion, it is a no-brainer and if you are lucky you may get a discount that Amazon offers from time to time.

The versatile design allows its use at different angles. Even though it does not have auto-focus functionality, however, the auto-focus button resolves this issue and if you are not changing the camera position, you will not need to worry about pressing the focus button again. Dual microphones are sensitive enough to record the audio, although you may prefer to use a better external mic while streaming or recording. Its maximum height is 15.5 inches approx. (measuring from the base of the stand/desk to the camera facing downwards), wish it was 18 inches or more so it could share a larger area.

If it is of any help, I am adding the different camera modes supported in Windows 11 below as I was unable to find these details before ordering it.

    Video Resolution supported:
    – 1080p 16:9 30fps
    – 720p 16:9 30fps
    – 2448p 4:3 30fps
    – 1944p 4:3 30fps
    – 1200p 4:3 30fps
    – 480p 4:3 30fps

    Photo Resolution supported:
    – 2.1MP 16:9 (1920×1080)
    – 0.9MP 16:9 (1280×720)
    – 8.0MP 4:3 (3264×2448)
    – 5.0MP 4:3 (2592×1944)
    – 1.9MP 4:3 (1600×1200)
    – 0.3MP 4:3 (640×480)

It does not come with a software application, however, it is ‘Plug and Play’ and videos recorded using OBS were smooth, and pictures taken through the Windows Camera app came out good with plenty of detail. I would strongly suggest having good lighting before you intend to use it. I have not yet tried to live stream, however, I will get back and add further info once I get to do it.

    Hope this helps 🙂

I bought this to use as a visualiser for the classroom. We already have visualisers purchased from school catalogues which cost 400+. This visualiser is just as good, for a fraction of the price. It is simple to set up and use, has good picture quality and is portable too. I’m very happy with my purchase.

If you don’t need bundle software this has to be, by far, the best value for money visualiser out there. Clean and sharp images and all the functionality you could possible need, especially for online tuition. So good I am thinking about getting another one for my other daughter!

Used on Win 11, Simple camera unit does what its meant to. Used with OBS editing software. stays stable if the bottom arm is not past vertical. Want a greater angle you’ll need a weight or do the same ish as photo. To improve it, I would have an extender on the middle arm for height and a pull-out extension on the base to counteract any tip on an increased angle

    Good but would improve i

I purchased this camer as my aging laptop although still reliable had a rubbish camera, I’d looked at the over the top clip on type ones but I do a lot of miniature painting as a hobby, occasionally I like to paint on hangouts with folk and it seemed like a cool idea to be able to have a camera that could do top down or even over the shoulder type shots so I gave this camera a shot.
It plugged and played with both Mac os and windows with out extra software and is selectable on teams, zoom discord and rooms with out issue, the picture quality is far superior to my old Mac and I love the fact it can be moved around and articulated into any position. The hardware buttons for focus and flipping pictures have actually been really good giving you really great versitility in how you position it. The base is a decent weight but not massive so have yet to have it trying to topple over.
Only negatives if you can call them that is the cableing path isn’t the best with the cable sometimes hanging loose from the camera down the arm but I resolved this using some small silicone hair bands to keep it on the body with out flapping around and the head of the camera adjustable arm was a little looser on arrival meaning it tried to droop on rotating into a 90 degree position but again this only required a tighten of an easily accessible flat head screw to get the desired resistance needed to behold firmly but still be easily adjusted.
Over all I’ve not been disappointed having used it several times in a variety of positions and different computers far more useful then the smaller clip on type.

I use this document camera for work on Skype. When I plugged it into the laptop, Skype recognised it immediately and Skype easily allows me to switch between the integrated web cam and the document camera. The control buttons on the product are straight forward and its flexibility is great allowing you to come in close or move the camera higher up from the desk. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to tople over; it has a good length of cable, with a velcro tidy tie; and it folds away neatly for storage at the back of my desk. There’s even a 3-stage light in the head if lighting conditions are poor. No problems at all so far and it’s opened up more opportunities for my work, which is just what I wanted.

Bought this a few months back and I have been very impressed! I am a teacher and needed a replacement for the rubbish visualiser in my new classroom. Read the reviews of this and decided it was worth a punt. Haven’t regretted it. It is very stable, can be positioned in many different ways and the auto focus is spot on. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again in the future and can really recommend it.

Really can’t fault this. It can be used as an overhead video recorder, USB microscope for live soldering work as there is no lag whatsoever and I am hopefully going to be using it as an alignment aid for my Mr Carve fibre laser.
So many uses and the picture quality is excellent.
Fully adjustable joints, even comes with a stowable screwdriver to adjust the joint tension.
Windows recognised the device instantly and running the Windows Camera app had it all up and running in seconds.
Even came with a USB to USB C adapter cable.

after looking at some large branded products took the plunge and ordered this, the camera is a good quality build and you can get the angle you need to display documents easily, the flip and rotate are a nice touch on the top to quicky get things looking correct on the screen
you use the standard camera apps in your OS so it is very quick to setup with no SW required or no drivers to install

the only downside is the auto focus can be a little dumb at times deciding to re-focus just at the wrong time!

I bought this document camera because I write product support guides for my job. I wanted to reasonably priced camera that would allow me to record video and take photos of device screens.

I decided on this camera because of its features and cost and its features, the light and auto focus functions are excellent and the sound quality on videos is very good.

Most of all I loved the easy setup, it took me about 10 minutes to setup and in no time I was making a product video.

    Excellent value for money

Excellent and inexplicably half the price of other products, that do no more or no less any better.

I was recommended this by a friend (maths’ teacher) and he uses it in the classroom. I’m now using it for online tutoring. Solid and robust. Does a great job. Very, very clear picture. No extra software necessary, (inbuilt Window’s software perfectly adequate) although I’ve also downloaded some free visualiser software with extra feature…but then deleted because just not necessary.

The light isn’t necessarily up to much, but to be fair, I’m not sure it would make much difference if there was an uber-fab light – for what I need the unit for and the job I need, normal daylight/office lighting means any additional lighting isn’t really necessary.

This is my second document camera, purchased after my original (an OkioCam) stopped working suddenly.
The camera comes as ‘plug and play’ – I didn’t have to install any software to get it to run properly on my Windows laptop. The buttons are easy to control, and I had no problem getting a clear focus on the document I was using.
I’m a teacher, and I got this product to use as a visualiser for producing notes and diagram, and for annotating text on a larger screen or for distance-teaching in case of future lockdowns.
There was no blurring when I was writing under the camera, but I wouldn’t be able to comment on its ability to produce clear video.
In summary, the camera does everything that I got it for, and hasn’t had any problems yet.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersFor the price, it’s decent. It really just plugs and plays, and the price is much lower than other well known brands like Hue and Ipeva, but I think, because this visualiser doesn’t actually come with a dedicated app for it and its image is just basically shown by you opening your Windows laptop’s Camera app, it makes things a bit complicated – you might need to spend some time experimenting using it with your computer/laptop setup so you know how to use it for your online video calls/lessons.

For me, it started off working fine at first. I would just plug it in, then open up my Camera app, then when I’m in a Zoom call, I’d just go to “Share Screen” and select the screen with my Camera app on it. I had it like this for a few months, no problems, worked fine in all my lessons, then it suddenly stopped working. Could not find the screen with my Camera app on it anywhere, and not only that, the strange thing was that my Camera app stopped allowing the display of this visualiser’s image when my laptop’s webcam was in use – which during a Zoom meeting call, yes it would be. I suddenly found myself in a position where I couldn’t share the contents of this visualiser’s images to my students on Zoom calls. Not sure why, but I think it was either because of a Zoom update and/or an update to the laptop’s Camera app. Either way, it changed the way I could share the visualiser’s image. For the last month, I didn’t have time to sort that out until after my university exams are over, so I went the whole month not being able to use this visualiser in my online lessons and thinking it might have stopped working for good – hence was a waste of my money. I then came here and downgraded my review to 2 stars.

Well, with my exams over and a spare bit of time on my hands, I finally found the way to use this visualiser in my Zoom online lessons now – I have to select “Share Screen”, then “Advanced”, then “Content from 2nd Camera” in order to do this. Can’t do it the way I used to before as it just wouldn’t work otherwise! So I’m happy with this visualiser again. Hope it stays this way and no more weird software updates which change the way this can be used! Upgraded my review to 4 stars – took 1 star off for a lack of ease of use due to what happened to me. Honestly, I don’t know if everyone would take the trouble to actually get it to work again when it suddenly stops working like it did for me. I do think if this visualiser had its own dedicated app interface and window, then this problem wouldn’t have happened. Relying on the Windows’ Camera app is not the best because the app is quite rubbish to start with, it’s very basic, and as my experience shows, it is apt to change the way you have to work with this visualiser quite unexpectedly due to any software updates.
